No, with this bullet list as to why. * Case managers who believe effort outside of being polite is unnecessary. * Referrals that take a minimum of 3 weeks just to get sent to the referrals office. * No housing options pursued by anyone in the office. * They believe that subsidies are non existent and will not assist in procuring. * Postponement on everything, from procedures on up to support systems. * Case managers that believe they can chat for an hour and then possibly get to a few pages of paperwork. * Division manager who takes as much as a year to hire people to replace co-workers. * "Forgotten" questions about just about anything. * Management that believe they can bully patients into submission There are a lot more but that should warn people to not buy into the rosy pretense.
Dr. DenOuden is at best a mediocre doctor... Oh, and forget it if you have an urgent medical issue that is not as easy as Pill prescription for HIV meds... I am shocked at the horrific incompetency here in Portland. I moved to Portland looking for a better life, but the incompetence of the people that run, assist, and supposedly help the community is inept, basic, poor in good communication skills or respect for individuals (unless you talk them like little spoiled children) has quickly made me realize that this pervasively mentally ill region is not it...
I relocated from Los Angeles to retire in Portland. Everyone from the receptionists to my medical case manager, benefits coordinator and my HIV specialist give the utmost courteous service, undivided attention to your personal needs. I did my homework and Portland is renowned for being resourceful for HIV, homelessness and mental illness needs. I arrived November 9th to Portland and moved into my own apartment in a desirable location in NW Portland on December 28, 2017. Forever grateful for their services.
The clinic is a great place, lots of resources, a fabulous in office counselor, case workers that are supportive and kind. However, Dr. Paul Denaldon (spelling?) can be a bit rude. Interrupting me while I explain symptoms, saying "ooooo, mmmhmm, I see" WHILE I am talking.... I've also noticed from my time being there that he pushes pills.... For things that can be managed with meal changes, exercise, and being mindful.
I've seen HIV County Health Clinics in 5 states. This is one of the very best! Wheather appointment or walking in, the wait is minimal. Everyone is friendly and smiling. Everyone is treated with dignity and respect! Caseworkers, Nurses, and Doctors are friendly knowledgeable and take time for you.
Been here for 8years. From the moment i became infected to some of the worst health issues of my life, they have proactive, supportive, and best care I could ever want.
