HellstotheYES! I used to live in Key West and miss the Cuban food. Like, a lot. Sadly when I'm in a place and see a Cuban restaurant I rarely look at the menu because I can no longer eat eggs and, up until today, my favorite thing was the perfect Cuban sandwich on the perfect Cuban bread. I am SO glad I scrolled through the menu. Today I discovered the Tamal Cubano (insert three hearts here)!!! This is located in the back of the SoFA market. Ordering is fairly easy, it's all done and paid for on screens set up outside their window (there's a search feature at the top if you already know what you want). You give them your name and cell and you immediately get a text to confirm they received it. They shout your name AND text you when it's ready for pick up. Man, it was just as good as I'd hoped. I ordered it with the carne asada and YUMMMMMMMO. Sweet plantains are also one of my favorite foods in the world and these did NOT let me down!! There are quite a few options in the SoFA market, so if Cuban doesn't strike your fancy maybe one of the other places does (honestly, I don't remember what they are because I went right to the one thing I was looking for). Clean and a decent amount of seating, assume no one parks themselves for an extended period of time. Thanks for reading my review. You're my favorite person of the day! :)

This food establishment is located in the SoFA Market food court. We came here on a Sat afternoon, there were plenty of seats both inside and out. I was really looking forward on trying this restaurant being that I am a fan of cuban cuisine. We tried several dishes spending about $60. We ordered the tamal cubano with lechon, sandwich cubano, ropa vieja, rabo encendido and flan. The ropa vieja and rabo encendido came with white rice, black beans and platano maduro. The flavors of both dishes were okay, though the oxtail was soft and tender. Sauces were thinner and more on the blander side. The tamal cubano wasn't my favorite, I felt the lechon lacked flavor. I did enjoy their cubano, the flavors were good except that the bread (although it looked toasted) was soft at first bite. I was definitely missing the crunch factor. Sad to say that their flan was the absolute worst flan I've ever had. If I knew what insant flan tasted like, I would assume that it would taste just like that. The flan was more gelatin vs tasting like it was made out of eggs and milk. It was bland and the sauce tasted like it was watered down caramel. Never would I ever suggest their flan to anyone. It was quite disappointing. All in all, I don't think I'll be eating at Habana Cuba in the future, a very big disappointment for me.

Uploaded photos of dishes they offer and they had fried pork chunks a very popular Cuban dish , I ordered it off of their photo they go we no longer carry pork chunks I explained that from their Facebook page and their Google review I found the picture of the dish that I wanted and I drove all the way there to eat it and it's the one that they removed from their menu. So being we are we're already there we decided to order off the menu we asked our waitress can we please have some pressed flat bread and butter bread that is served at all Cuban restaurants she replied we don't serve bread sir I said could you ask the Cuban Cooks to please make me some Cuban press bread and I'll be happy to pay for it but you have to have press bread to eat Cuban food she come back and said they said they didn't know how to make it then I realized I really was in a fake Cuban restaurant and dismissed ourselves from the table before our food come. The restaurant look very nice inside but if you think you're going there to eat Cuban food you will be disappointed.

Anyone that leaves a good review for this place clearly doesn’t know about the Cuban food their missing out on! The traditional dishes like Ropa Veija and Vaca Frita are okay they taste as they should I suppose just mediocre. But the portions are so ridiculously small like $20 + dollars ,that’s a double wammy just to get a medium amount of food or less is demoralizing . I almost feel like I’m getting a glorified sample. One trip to a Cuban mom and pop spot in Florida and $12 later might leave you with a whole plate and then some more for your mid day binge eating session. Even the cardboard highschool cafeteria plates they serve it in feel insulting . But what do you expect from California anyway taxes , traffic , quality of life . That’s my take on it coming from a Cuban in the flesh this place def doesn’t do my island justice . The flavors are kind of there but you can’t be lacking in portion size as well that’s a no no.

We ordered from here through UberEats today. It was a disaster and it was way too expensive for that to be the case. We ordered 3 Cuban sandwiches, coconut prawns, plantains and the saffron rice with chicken. For starters, none of the Cuban sandwiches were made incorrectly. It had tomatoes and no pickles, which is the stable ingredient for the sandwich. Now let's get to the saffron rice. It wasnt seasoned and it completely mushy and to top it off, it tasted like dish soap. As if the pot was washed (which I suppose is a good thing) and it wasnt rinsed off. The chicken that came with it was also tasting funny but we assume it was because it was on top of the rice. My mother was dissatisfied and was unable to eat it at all. That was the worst part. Oh and the plantains were cold and rubbery. This wasn't an enjoyable experience. We moved here 2 years ago and have been dying to try this place and we're dissatisfied.

I was excited about a CUBAN spot opening up in the SoFa market, and my expectation is higher after learning that it's taking the spot of Konjoe Tei (o how I miss their ramen). Food is 3-stars (I admit I don't know what authentic Cuban food taste like); however, the price you pay is not worth it in my opinion. I ordered the Lechon Cubana $14, and paid $2 extra for the fried green plaintain. The meat was tender but there wasn't much fat and no crispy skin (I guess I was expecting crispy pig skin given the name "Lechon" but I was definitely wrong). The meat didn't have too much flavor and the beans had a strong herb taste but really no too different from canned beans. Tip: The plain-looking salsa tasted fresh and had a nice kick, I would put it all over the meat

Have been coming to Habana Cuba for many years and throughout the years, it has always been a great local go-to place for us. More recently, our son has aso become a fan of Habana Cuba as it is one of the few places that always elicits a "YES" when asked if we should go there to eat. The service has always been great for us, and the food delicious. While there was one time the pork came out drier than I liked, the restaurant staff were quick to get me something else to my liking AND we ended up with some sort of discount for our trouble. The location is convenient, though along an older stretch of Race Street and the parking is awkward at times when they are busy, but it certainly should not discourage anyone from coming out to try Habana Cuba.

I love this restaurant! The front staff may seem a little stand-offish, but they are just very professional. The food is amazing and I love the decor and ambiance, very intimate and cozy. I love the ropa vieja, the rice and black beans, the soups, pork chops, pernil, boneless chicken breast smothered in onions....yum!!! Best to make reservations, though. You can wait a while on a busy night. Their lunch specials are great, too. You get a good amount of food for the buck, but their food is not cheap. However it's not very expensive. You get what you pay for, and this restaurant is worth it. The owners are Cuban so you get the authentic flavors, thank goodness.

  • Connie Ludewig

We discovered this restaurant because there was an offer with Groupon. Not only is this establishment easy to find, with convenient parking, but my first impression was how friendly everyone was upon our arrival. The decor and music made me feel like I could actually be in Cuba! The menu selection is ample but not overwhelming and our waiter made suggestions about the most popular entrees; we even had breakfast one time. The food was delicious! The restaurant was clean and well lit. Writing this review, I realize that although we are only 35 minutes away (we live out of town), it is easy freeway access and we need to return soon!

  • Matt Thomas

I liked this place. I'm no expert on Cuban food so I'm not going to try to critique however, I enjoyed what I ordered and what the table shared. The atmosphere was somewhat a dive but updated which created a nice style. Now, why 5 stars? The service. Exceptional - particularly something for a small restaurant. We were in a rush to get to a concert. We over ordered and didn't realize it. It was a few entrees - not some small appetizer. We said we'll pay for it but can't take it and she said "don't worry about it - I'll take it off the bill" "come back and see us soon". 5 star deserving. Service + good food = class.

My biggest issue was the preset tipping at 20% when there was no service . Only a digital display and my food came out in a cardboard box handed over the counter by the cooks the only way to get out of not tipping was to select custom tip and select 0 to get out of forced tipping . That being said if I was at a nice restaurant sitting down to eat I don't mind tipping more than 20% If you've had real Cuban food and are comparing there food is marginal. If your comparing it to most fast food chains there food is good. I think this POS system is the same in the whole market place .

I used to eat at this restaurant regularly in 2003 and it was my absolute favorite. I moved out of the area in 2004 but I never forgot about the Cuban pork dish that changed my life. I waited for a trip to the area to get to experience this meal again. It finally came two weeks ago, 18 years later. I planned to stop in San Jose on the way home from Santa Cruz JUST to eat here. It was SO disappointing. Nothing like it used to be. There was nothing wrong with It and it may be amazing to people who have never eaten there before but it's definitely not like it used to be. I guess all good things must come to an end.

  • David Prizio

Food was pretty good, especially the pork. I was very unhappy with the service. We ordered water and were not told that free water was available and so paid far too much extra for bottled water we neither needed nor wanted. Also we ordered the Lechon. We wanted the sandwich but were unaware there was a more expensive plate option. We were not asked what we wanted but were given the more expensive option of the same name we didn't want. Food for two cost us $40 after tax and tip which is outrageous given nearby dining options. We will not be returning due to high prices and lazy service.

  • Max Molesch

Terrible food, and this is not even real Cuban. I ordered croquettes, a cuban sandwich, and a paella. The croquettes were made from dehydrated mashed potatoes, mushy, and the picadillo inside was just ground beef. The sandwich was dry and flavorless. The paella was $42 and was by far the worst paella I've ever had in my life. It was just salty yellow rice with some frozen seafood thrown in. Overall I paid a lot of money for a huge slap in the face. Vehemently do not recommend. Crew was nice though, sorry guys, your food sucks.

I've been going to Habana Cuba for years when I get a hankering for Cuban food. I've gone as a vegetarian and now as a vegan, and have found plenty to satisfy me, even as my omnivorous friends and family have cowed down on the many more carnivorous offerings. Plantains, Yuca, Black Beans, Mushrooms...all prepared deliciously...make for a wonderful feast, in a chill, but festive environment. This is a great spot for a special occasion or double date. But recently I've just gone for a random weeknight dinner and been glad I did! Best Cuban restaurant in the South Bay for sure!

  • David Noble

I really enjoyed my food! I chose this place to try for my friend and I to go to and neither one of us had Cuban before. We tried pieces of each other's plates, he had ceviche camarones tostones and that was great with the plantains and the chile relleno and I had a sauteed beef stirred in with my white rice which came out really tasty. The location was new to me as well which is inside the Sofa Market that is like the Market Square on san pedro st. I'm very happy with the decision I made cuz I know I'll be going back for more. Thanks for the food and live music this venue.

  • Cassie C

I go there every year for my birthday. The atmosphere is extremely welcoming and calming when you want to just relax while you eat. Their food is amazing. I've tried many of their dishes and my favorite is their lechon. It melts in your mouth, and I don't know what they do to their rice but it tastes amazing. I took my friends there for my birthday one year and they loved it. They've been begging me to take them back as soon as possible. If you're in San Jose and want to try some really amazing cuban food, Habana Cuba is where you should go.

  • Ted Lora

Terrible... half the menu items were not available. No paella, no ox tail, no shrimp, and no tres leche. We wanted so badly to like this place, but the whole operation failed in every category. The staff are not professional. They aren't even Cuban. We were offered a discount because of all the mistakes, then failed to include the discount when the bill came. We even spoke to the manager who seemed mostly indifferent. I'm surprised this place has so many good reviews. They must be marketing efforts our something. Don't believe the hype!

  • Debbie Cusic

Tidy little place serving delicious food. We had a sampler appetizer platter. All will well prepared and delicious. The garlic sauce is the bomb. The shrimp in garlic was generous portion. The tostones were perfectly caramelized not burnt. Thoroughly enjoyed a delicious meal. It's a food court area so different tastes can be explored. And there's a bar a few steps away should you wish for a beer with your meal. Good enough to go back and explore more.

I ordered carne con papas which is a very traditional Cuban dish but it was pretty bad had a lot of lemon flavor and not the right preparation for this dish The black beans tasted like canned beans :( And the portion very very small…but is ok you don’t want big portions on bad food very disappointed with the food. They should hired a real Cuban chef or just change the name of the restaurant because is not Cuban food at all .. 1 star

Note the food coming out this little restaurant, one of the nest in the area, out of the three locations for Cuban food this one ranks #1 on this visit to the San Francisco area. The vaca frita and black beans were out of this world. Now it’s a little hard to find, as it’s part of a food court in the SOFA Market building, google maps takes you there, at first I graded the maps app as :(. But then realized it was working fine. Kind of a lost treasure- make the drive my friends and go find it !!!!

  • Michael Dryden

This location is fantastic! Reminiscent subtly of a small-town restaurant in Cuba. homemade cuisine. Get the chicken and pork soup on the menu. And I was introduced to perfectly prepared plantains at this location. I could eat these all day long! It's funny how they serve you a dish of pork, a plate of plantains and white rice, and a bowl of beans the first time you visit. It appears quite plain, according to your mind. Be not deceived. There are sometimes mariachis that stroll about!

  • Linda A

Finding authentic Cuban food is extremely difficult and this is the place to go if you're looking for it. My grandmother is a Cuban refugee and I grew up eating authentic Cuban food. This is as authentic as it gets prices are very reasonable and it's such a joy to enjoy a wonderful plate of Piicadillo since grandma has passed. I've been going to this place forever and I will continue to go to this place until I'm able to drive a car take a cab or an Uber lol 10 stars.

This review is only for brunch, as I have never been during dinner. The brunch here is amazing! I got the cuban french toast, which was perfectly custardy and delicious. They came with (if I recall correctly) a side of eggs, potatoes, and fruit. Portions are super big. And the coffee is awesome! Word of warning: their hot sauce is fiery hot! The only downside is that they only seem to have brunch Spring-Autumn. I tried to go in November and they did not have brunch :(

  • Gus F

The SoFa Market food court on South First street is not nearly as nice as their former location on Race Street, and the menu is not nearly as good as it used to be. The Moros rice and beans was rather dry. Skip that and order the white rice and black beans separately and mix them yourself. Their Ceviche is still their strong suit.

Maybe it's just me but I was not very impressed. The cuban sandwich was sub par honestly shouldn't even be called that, the pork was pulled not sliced im not sure if there was any ham in it either. The empanadas where the saving grace here as the were pretty good. I was unable to finish my sandwich, Maybe that's because I've expirenced true cuban food at other establishments.

This place is amazing! Quietly reminiscent of a Cuban local eatery. Home made food. Order the house pork and chicken soup. And this place introduced me to properly prepared plantains. I could eat them until I burst! It's funny, the first time you go they bring out a dish of pork, a plate with plantains and white rice and a bowl of beans. Your brain says it looks pretty plain. Don't be fooled. Sometimes they have strolling mariachis!

My wife and I have been enjoying Habana Cuba for years. The food is terrific, the service is great, and the atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. The Cuban sampler appetizer is our favorite way to start any meal there, and we always take advantage of the great selection of Latin American beers they have available. The pork there is absolutely delicious, and my wife really loves the vegetarian tamal. I highly recommend Habana Cuba.

  • Lorianna Giarrizzo

It can be hard to find good Cuban food in the Bay Area, but Habana Cuba is the way to go. Love their slow cooked pork with plantains, beans and rice. It is a delicious combination of sweet and salty. I can't review too many items on the menu because I always order the pork, it is so good! My boyfriend has tried the tamales and they are also excellent. I recommend this place for good, hearty Cuban food in a relaxed setting.

  • David Ng

Come here for the oxtail! You won't be disappointed. I miss their old digs with the restaurant setting but sometimes it's better to survive in some form than to close up shop. Despite moving their operations to SoFA Market, they haven't compromised on their excellent quality of Cuban food. The service is excellent and the food top notch. The slow cooked pork dish with rice, beans and plantains is also a very popular dish.

  • John Biesnecker

Decent food, but really expensive for what you got. It’s hard to stomach $100 for four when it’s all served in paper boxes. The plantains were delicious, but there were maybe six slices in the side order that came with my sandwich?

This is one of my favorite spots to eat (or takeout) when I'm in downtown San Jose. I like the Cuban sandwiches and the plantains. I don't have a deep frame of reference for what makes a great plantain, though I like the sweetness that complements the savory sandwich. If pictures show up with my review, here is the menu as of Dec 2021. The other photos on Google Maps were blurry so hopefully these pictures help.

  • Brynn Johnson

The food is incomparable! The staff and owner are lovely people who put love into their food. I have never had a bad meal or a bad item. I definitely miss having a restaurant atmosphere where we can order a pitcher of sangria and kick back and relax a bit. The new atmosphere is very loud and very windy (HUGE ceiling fans for circulation)! But the food, yeah. Incomparable. I can’t wait until dessert is back!

  • Sandra Capalongan

I love this kitchy little Cuban find in San Jose. The food is very authentic and delicious. The service is quick and friendly. Dinner is great and breakfast is fantastic! I love the sweet fried plantains you get with just about every meal. They also have a imaginative drink menu. This one is definitely worth a try. If you're looking for a place that's a bit different from the usual, you won't be disappointed.

  • Beth Baker

My family has been coming here on and off for years and it always consistently good. The food is delicious and the service is great. There isn't a dish I wouldn't recommend. Unlike many restaurants you can hear the people sitting across from you as well as the person at the end of the table making it a great place to go with a large group or just your family. Try it you are sure to like it and return again.

  • Nate Ulsh

Great spot tucked away in the SoFA Market. Great deal with the Dine Downtown Prix Fixe menu - papa rellena hit the spot with the black beans and rice, flavorful chicken. The dessert arroz con leche was a perfect finish to this meal. The mango drink quinched my thirst, not too sweet. The to-go container was fitting for the meal. Staff was friendly and order was ready on 5 minutes. Ambience vibe was good.

  • Hua Mao

Very family oriented place - the place smell so nice with the food. The decoration is very colorful and true to Cuba culture. The service is a little bit slow - the place is always packed. We ordered palleya Havana- the sea food are top quality, fresh and perfectly cooked, but rice is a little bit at watery side. But still taste very good. The price is very reasonable for the size and quality.

  • Anthony

Quite delicious flavors from the vaca frita. Food was ready fairly quickly and was not badly priced. Unfortunately half of my vaca frita was just fat. The crispy pieces were incredible, but barely any of the meat was crispy except for the top layer. Will definitely return to try again and the other dishes they have

Had the "Alice" Cuban sandwich with chicken, grilled onions ham and Swiss cheese. Absolutely delish! Especially when I doused it with that red hot sauce they carry. Yum. Comes wish tasty plantains. My friend had the Cuban Sampler. Great pork, yucca fritas and amazing garlic dipping sauce, stuffed potato balls were fantastic. Ambiance was pleasant and the staff was friendly and attentive.

  • Shaprieh Bean

The food is just okay. Nothing to write home about! I expected more. I absolutely love Cuban food and this place did not hit the mark for me. The chicken was overcooked but did have a decent flavor. The rice and beans were fine, they we're at least seasoned. The plantains were probably not ripe when they were cooked. Either way for the price of the food, and the cuisine I expected more.

  • David E

My phone wants to know what I think about Habana Cuba? I think I went there twice in two days. I think when I ate there for the first time in May I said to the staff this was the best Cubano ever. The ox-tail soup makes me wish, hope, dream bc it completes me. Check out the SoFA Market SJ in general. So many options to choose from. Picture is my to-go Cubano.

  • Michael Miller

This restaurant has moved location, but still has delicious Cuban food. The cocktails are gone as is much of the ambiance; however, they are now in a location with many other options, so not everyone in your party has to want Cuban food. Everyone can eat food from a different restaurant, and, if desired, get drinks from the bar that operates there.

  • Anh Dobes

I went here for my birthday dinner a few years back. The waiters are very attentive and polite. The service is great.. I just have to be a little biased because I've eaten in Miami many times and its not quite the same. But since there are so little Cuban restaurants in the, its ok for having your Cuban fix. The food is decent but a little pricey.

  • Jean Barnes

First and foremost, come hungry! We ate here on Christmas Eve for the first time and were not disappointed. The menu is basically a well stocked salad bar with upscale items like asparagus and artichoke hearts, along with anti-pastas and other items. You sit down and the chefs walk around with skewers of fresh cooked meats which they slice off...

  • Matthew Thomas

The fried yuca and oxtail plates were both delicious. A little difficult to eat with a plastic knife and fork. The food market was a bit hectic; so, we were lucky to get seating and since it’s downtown SJ, we were also lucky to get good parking too. A lot of options in downtown SJ but this is a good alternative and good location to most options.

  • Ashley Swank

Ordered the oxtail. It was amazing, but not worth the high price. Ordered a salad and plantains and was given 2 salads. Didn't have the courage to correct them. Overall the food is good, but probably a little over priced. I paid $30 including tip for not much food.

Drove by this place everyday going to work and for some reason never decided to stop. Thanks to a Living Social special we eventually corrected that mistake and were happy we did. Food is AMAZING. Portions are generous. Prices are reasonable. I prefer the pork dishes, but my girlfriend likes veggie options, and we never been disappointed.

  • Dana Nakase

It's a very solid restaurant. We haven't had anything there which blew us away, but all the food we've had there has been very good. It's a good value for the money and the service has always been good. I also think the ambiance is very nice. It's decent for a date night, and casual enough to be a decent family place as well.

  • Tory Schwenk

The place is phenomenal. The "Alice" Cuban Sandwich, is beyond any description, the blend of meats and flavors The fried plantains are juicy, the black beans are addictive, and the dishes are just Top Notch. There is an outdoor eatery section in the back that is clean, quiet, cozy. Treat yourself and step inside the nook !

  • Emma Morley

The meat was delicious - tried the rabo and the pork - can't complain there. However the sides were a bit lacking. The beans were pretty unflavorful and the rice was plain, and there were only 5 very small pieces of maduros (fried plantain) which is pretty skimpy. They were good but I felt like a barely got a taste.

  • Ruben Camacho

I'm a sucker for a good cubano sandwich, and on a recent trip to San Jose, I looked this place up and had good ratings. I had to check it out for myself. Low and behold the reviews were right. The cubano was perfect, I ordered it with a side of tostones, also amazing. I highly recommend this place.

  • Dikaios Wong

Pork is dry. Saffron rice is dry and doesn’t taste like saffron at all. The only food that i had that tasted alright were the beans and the plantains. The cubano isn’t anything to write home about. Overall disappointing.

Very tasty Cuban food, and according to a Cuban friend of mine, "is just like her grandma used to make". I was lured by the high praise and I found the slow roasted pork (lechon) dish wholesome and hearty, with the fried plaintains a tasty accompaniment to the savory and simple dish.

Seriously amazing food. Since we moved to the area, Habana has become a staple for us. The pork is so good! We have had several sides and other orders too and it’s all bee great. Try to order direct from their site for pickup. It’s done on time and fantastic too!

  • Joyce Kelsey

Found this place by googling restaurants near me on our visit to SanJose. It was within walking distance from our hotel. I was surprised to find it was in sofa market, a food court type environment since the listing did not mention that. Food was very flavorful.

  • Alex Tea

Went to this place on a whim, and....it was fantastic. Highly recommend the Sandwich Cubano with a side of sweet plantains. I also got a Malta because I love it. Total for all that was about $17, so it's a little expensive, but the flavors were spectacular.

The quality is basic, the taste basic and im being geniuse. I cook often and this is fast food to me and pretty disappointing. We need more Cuban and Puerto Rican food in the south Bay. Unfortunately on the west we are limited compare to the east coast.

The Cubano sandwich was fine, a little soggy. Fried plantains were tasty but a very small portion. Seating is bar style with a huge TV in your face. $3 for a can of soda.

I love this restaurant! The slow roasted pork is my favorite but everything that I have tried on the menu has been excellent. The service is great and the food comes fairly quickly from time of order. Perfect for small to medium size gatherings.

Me and my husband got a groupon deal for here and we didn't regret it. Nice atmosphere, large portions and the drinks there are very yummy I had a sangria and my husband had a mimosa. We will definitely be going back there in the near future.

I grew up in Tampa and know Cuban food and culture. This is not Cuban food. And I am being generous calling it food. The paella was frightening. Also none of the kitchen staff are Cuban

Delicious lechón, ropa vieja, vaca frita, tostones empanadas, black beans and rice. The Surtido is a great deal! The empanadas are flaky and the filling (we got beef) is tender and flavorful. You cannot go wrong with this full Cuban menu.

I was visiting San José for a PTA Convention and found this restaurant through yelp. We had made reservations before arriving. When we came in we were greeted and seated immediately. We ordered the Cuban sampler to start. Everything was

Habana Cuba is the best Cuban restaurant I've found in the San Jose area. I go by myself, with family, with friends and take out of town guests there. Everyone has always been pleased with their choices. I also go just to get take away.

  • Janelle Rojas

Love everything here for a little taste of Cuban food here in the Bay Area. Being from Tampa, FL, it’s close enough to authentic as can be expected out here. The disappointment I had was once I ordered the Ceviche to try out. Usually I

I ordered from here a lot. It's the only Cuban place in San Jose and the food is always perfectly and deliciously prepared. It's healthy so not greasy or full of preservatives and they have options for vegetarians. I highly recommend!

  • Lissette R.

I've been going to Habana Cuba for many years and the food has always been delicious. Every time I've introduced someone new to this place they leave really impressed with the food. My favorite part of their menu has always been the

I try to make it to Habana every couple months for my Cuban fix. Love some of the appetizers, like the empanaditas and the papas rellenas. Among the entrees, slow roast pork and oxtail are favorites. Always great service here, too.

  • Jesus Mendez

This place is disappointing, honestly the food is not great seems like it was made by someone who’s never made Cuban food. If you ever had Porto’s this place is about 40% of that. You’re better off eating somewhere else.

  • Jo Lee

Was here for dinner, ordered Lechon and mango juice. The meat was kind of dry, wish there is more gravy and the most delicious part was the fried banana, but the portion given is the least. Not really value for money.

Best Cuban restaurant in san jose. I got carne con papas, comes with rice and platano I suggest ordering a side of beans, the beans are to die for. All of the staff are super friendly ! This place is a must try !

  • Cranky Cook

Being a chef, cuban is one of my favorite cuisines. The good news, the flavor profile was spot on. Pork was perfectly cooked. The down side was a little short on meat. Ie a little skimpy but over all good

I had Jamal Cubano - Lechon[?] (marinated pork) with rice & black beans. The flavors were wonderful, but it was served luke warm. if I wasn't pinched for time I would have sent it back. [$14 2018-MAY]

Nice location down town, great food, super tender pork and ox tail. Salsa tasty. Neat environment setting, mix of other stuff so everything can find something they like and be seated together.

  • Justin Carrow

Excellent food, service, drinks. Very satisfied. The atmosphere is pretty cool. I went there with another couple and had a wonderful time. The food was very tasty. Everyone loved their dishes.

  • Allan Li

Good portion sizes and extremely delicious. I ordered an oxtail rice bowl and it was well worth the 15 bucks. I was given 3 big pieces of oxtail, and a great amount of rice and beans.

  • DANTE VIDENA

Nothing extraordinary, small portion serving, just like a fast-food Cuban chain resto. Better find another place to spend your money. Not recommended to satisfied your palate. More

Had catered food from Habana Cuba recently. The chicken and plantain dishes were super yummy! Can’t wait to go there in person and try all the other yummy dishes. 100% recommend!

The ceviche looks and tastes like a $2 jar of salsa from the supermarket. The Cuban sandwich and pork masitas are dry. Avoid this place. Especially for the price.

Lechon was pretty amazing. Nice and flavourful, not too fatty but still moist. Good sized portions with three sides for entrees.

I always get takeout from them, their lechon dish is pure heaven! Portion size is big, too. One dish is two full meals for me

The Lechon is my go to dish when I'm not having the seafood paella and Sangria. The patio is nice and dog friendly.

  • Dasha Elgart

Huge portions, even small plates (or appetizers) are too big to be consumed in one sitting. Really delicious though!

  • Luis Robaina

Food and service were great. Only thing that threw me off was them using panko bread crumbs for bistec empinizada.

  • Zoe P.

Nice food. Bocadito is ok, not the best Cuban sandwich I have tried but Tostones is yummy for me.

  • Daniel Bohorquez

Really good pork. Comfortable environment and great service. Street parking only

  • April Ambard

Great food! Lechon, black beans and rice, yuca...can't go wrong!

  • R A

Awesome food. I like the slow cooked pork. It is very flavorful.
