2022 Review: Boot contents stolen on 29 / 30 June 2022: I am still waiting for Halfords to get back to me. I also emailed the Enfield branch directly, but the email continually bounces back. I paid for a "Major" service and MOT. They decided some internal parts in my car needed a clean, so they whacked £50 on top just for a little clean, during this so called Major service. They then charged me an additional £176+ to change the spark plugs. I was shocked as they are £3.28 each on their website. When I asked them about this, they claim they had no idea and did not provide any sort of justification other than some waffle. When I got home and checked the vehicle more thoroughly, they had stolen my tyre repair kit, jack and tools! I cannot believe this. I also used them last year and seemed OK, but never again. They denied this of course when I called, so am now waiting for Head office's response. Conveniently, they unplugged my camera without my consent AND left it like this. As per pictures, they also left rubbish and tossed my face masks to the floor. I asked them to check my windscreen wipers as part of them fall off when you lift them to clean the windows (they charged me for these last year). They did not look at them or confirm that they had resolved anything. But they had time to do additional cleans, which they charged for. Very dishonest. They also left a big gap at the back seats, which exposes the boot. This is when I found the contents stolen. Leaving my vehicle in this poor careless condition is disgusting. The staff have absolutely no regard for customers' property. This branch is NOT TO BE TRUSTED. Avoid at all costs. 0/10. I will now contact The Motor Ombudsman. UPDATE JULY 2023 - After having my Service & MOT elsewhere (my original dealership much better) they informed me that the Fog lights were left unplugged! This means, that Halfords were additionally careless, and left the fog lights unplugged due to carelessness. I now have a problem with leaking Coolant cylinder and has affetced the engine (I do about 2-2.5 miles per year) and think that it is Halfords that tampered with the Coolant to cause this problem - they have been clearley careless in every other aspect. I am fuming at how they treated my vehicle and got NO compensation for this. PLEASE PLEASE do not go there.

It was not a pleasant experience at all for my 1st visit here I must say I was initially surprised to find an appointment slot at the Halfords Auto center Enfield after a Google search for wheel alignment came up with their name. Using their website was super easy and I got a next day appointment at 8:30 with an arrive 10 minutes earlier warning or suggestion. I got there 13 minutes earlier, only for the man who attended to me tell me that the machine to do the job had broken down the night before and he had called the engineer to fix it. I asked why no one called me to notify me not to bother coming, he said that my appointment was at 10:30. I said no and showed him the confirmation email. He said that anyway did I want to leave my car or not and that he couldn't guarantee if it'll get fixed today. I asked what was the point of leaving the car with them going home only to be called back to get it if the engineer could not fix the machine? That would be 2 trips in a cab for nothing! He was so standoffish when speaking to me. No apologies, no patience almost as if I was not a paying customer! He then said that he would have to refund my money if the machine was not fixed. I asked how will I know? He said that he would call me. I had to agree and leave with my car expecting a call with some information. I am still waiting for the phone call and the refund over 10 hours later. So disappointed! Don't think I will be going back there! I want my money refunded! I'll be requesting this in the morning. I was so upset about the experience I forgot to take pictures!

I don't want to blame the rest of the repair centre staff but the reception man was almost persuading me not to use their services as the fault in my car was not important enough for his troubles. I understand he might be busy and he must have other bigger jobs to attend but this was my first experience with Halfords and my first time taking my new car to the garage and it was certainly not pleasant. The day I took the car, besides being rude regarding the fault, which was the check engine light that came on just one day after purchasing the car. He sent me to park the car "somewhere at the back" where was absolutely no space. Second time in the office ha asked me to leave it where it was at the beginning and the third time in he said he could not perform the service as he was very busy and I would have to bring the car in another day despite having made the booking online and being on time. At the end he was "gracious" enough to let me leave the car and he would see if he could make time for me. I didn't want to argue so I just left the car keys, no receipt of any sort, and went home. I might use Halfords again but It will certainly not be the Enfield branch. I am sorry if I was excited about my new car and having a check engine issue just the next day. But the man would not even care about this so I saved him the trouble.

The original review I have now deleted. They have since lost the manager they had. They seemed to of had managers from other branches covering. However during that time the service there had gone seriously down hill. After one of the times it went in a for a service, a while after driving up to Northampton part of a tool slide up my windscreen! They left part of a tool in my windscreen wiper bay! Another time after a service and oil change they didn’t tighten back the sump plug so it was leaking oil. It had an mot there a good few months after and they either did notice and didn’t say or they didn’t notice because they don’t do what they are supposed to or say they do. They said my breaks needed doing on that mot but couldn’t do it that day so I ended up taking the car somewhere else. The garage that I took it too noticed the sump plug was in but not tight and the pan under the engine was full of oil! There’s way more to this branches total neglect and incompetence that can not fit in this post and their customer service is more than welcome to contact me to hear the full story. This branch needs to be investigated, closed down or replace all the staff for competent staff with customer service skills and actually do the work they are paid to do. So please think first before booking. I learnt the hard way.

I book to change my 4 tyres, do a free brake check, wheel alignment as well as change the brake fluids. When I brought the car at the time of my booking the front desk informed me that they could not do the wheel alignment and the free brake check as they are short of staff and the paid amount will be refunded. "but no worries for the break check it is free so no issues there", he said... I asked the reason as I book in advance to have these done in the agreed slot. The front desk replied to me that he will not argue with the online booking slots but they close at 17:30 so the jobs will not be completed! (It was 11:30 when I got there). I left the car and I got a phone call 5 minutes later telling me that I ordered Flat Run tyres and that I do not have flat run on my car now and is not designed for a flat run.....@~##$£!!!!! REALLY? I know my car... come on guys I know that you want to take the car out of your way, one less customer for the day, right? Then they replied that they do not have them in stock!!!! So came back took my car and request a refund! I will never book with Halfords again!! Unprofessional and unacceptable! You could save my day just calling me before the booking and inform me so we can reschedule... NEVER AGAIN!

Halfords have asked me to write a review so here goes. My wife had booked her car into the auto centre for an M.O.T. She arrived on time and drove into the service centre. I had parked my own car and as I was walking to meet her, I saw and heard a mechanic being aggressive and abusive toward her, gesticulating as if in despair. Apparently he objected to her not being able to understand his parking instructions. I immediately told him to be respectful to his customers and show respect to a woman. He was a big guy and he squared up to me, telling me to back off as it was none of my business. I told him it was everything to do with me as the Lady was my wife. He continued to argue aggressively so I decided to walk away and speak to the manager. The manager did apologise and said the man was an agency worker and only there for the day. So much for the advertised 'dedicated and expert staff' at Halfords! We received no apology from the agency worker. We had gone to Halfords expecting a professional and courteous service. Instead we were both left angry and shaken. Needless to say, I have cancelled the M.O.T and service I had booked for my own car.

Halfords trying to make as much money as possible, doing unnecessary work. Only just done this review as saw we gave 5* but with no write-up which we wouldn't have done so just updated, haven't been back since. Booked a Free Mot, wait for it, JUST BEFORE LOCKDOWN! Well, its not free when they fail it then expect you to return and pay for retest, Once you paid them for work it doesnt need! the tester left the windscreen wipers on (in the dry) the whole time he was doing the test (which ruined the wipers & they refused to replace them!) Took the car to an independent garage (2 days later) without doing anything to the car that Halfords said needed doing and the car passed with no advisories! (after they'd said " you been running the wipers with no water"! they replaced the new set of wipers i had with me free of charge! Since we had our MOT all them yrs ago we've spoken to friends with the same problem of a free MOT from Halfords!

The MOT was booked for the 2nd of December and being self employed I had to loose half a day's money to accommodate this. I arrived only to be told that they had called everyone to cancel all MOTs two days previously. I had NO call and no email/text either. Had to rebook the following Friday and had to take half a day off again. The MOT guy then nearly didn't go ahead as the seats were 'not cleared' although this took only 5 mins to achieve. Then I was told that no dash cam is allowed during the test, he started to remove the camera from the window and again nearly didn't go on as I had 'glued it to the windscreen' and it would not come off. This was subsequently proven to be only suction (like all other dash cams) that was keeping it in place. On the whole it seemed as if it was a burden to have to do the MOT at all. If it were not for the fact that I am a Halfords club member and the MOT was free I would have gone elsewhere.

The person at reception has booked my appointment for 8.30am on a bank holiday, confirming that they are open at that time. Turns out that they open at 10am that day and send me a text message to arrive 10min early. No call from them or message saying that the time of the appointment needs changing. Also had to change the things needed done on the car but they either hung up the phone as soon as you connect or tell you to hold the line and then hung up after 10min of waiting. After the staff coming in to work at 10am I have let them know I am there for an MOT but they say they don't have a mechanic to do the MOT. Wasted waiting 2hours outside the garage for nothing. The guy at the reception tried to say that they called and left the message to say that they won't have anyone to do the MOT that day. If I had any message I wouldn't have bothered going and waiting. Not professional at all. Definitely not coming back here again.

Today I visited Halfords Enfield automobile centre for an MOT just would like to say never again will I be going there again the manager, Antonio, was a horrible person with no customer service skills at all, on the other hand Julia the lady at reception (I believe to be an assistant manager) was remarkable, and how they puts up with that vile man I don't know. He over booked himself my appointment for my MOT was at 12:40 and my car still wasn't even looked at at by 14:10 and then he told me it wouldn't be ready till 17:30. Julia as I previously said couldn't of been more helpful and apologetic, she managed to sort everything out and get the MOT done swiftly after. The mechanic was also very kind and he made sure my car's MOT was done within the hour, but Antonio needs to go on a few courses on how to talk to customers a very rude man who needs to be taken down a peg or two, I will not be a customer there ever again.

Tyre popped and needed a quick replacement. Online booking was easy with plenty of appointment availability, was able to purchase the same tyre as the rest and get booked in at a time convenient to me. I arrived just before my scheduled time 8:30am when they open, they were all ready working and I was greeted by Alan. Checking in was easy and I sat and waited for my tyre to be changed. During this time Alan did an amazing job with numerous clients coming in, some being quite difficult, Alan dealt with everybody in a friendly, professional and empathetic manner. He is a credit to your company. Tyre was changed quickly and efficiently. This was my first time using Halfords Autocentre and I was very pleasantly surprised. Would have been nice if there was a coffee machine though but this may have been removed due to covid restrictions!? Thank you Alan & team.

Very rude and disrespectful Manager and very unprofessional and sarcastic staff with little knowledge about cars. Booked in for an MOT and Service on 22/09/21. I had to chase for an update of the progress. I was told they were too busy to do the service and to bring it another day which I refused to do. I collected my car and was greeted with rudeness and sarcasm. A recommendation was to top up the brake fluid and to change the brake discs and I said as part of the service why did you not call me to advise. I was told 'you wanted your car back' i advised yes with a completed service. They then said I should book in for next week. The front desk man said 'listen you got your car back'. I then proceeded to call head office and I am waiting for a call from the Regional Manager as that was the most appalling service I have ever received.

Really poor management and service. Will never use again. Even contacted customer service but they were not helpful. Ordered 4 new tyres online on their website. Arrived for fitting a week later on the time slot they gave. No tyres had arrived. I had taken time off work and had my disabled daughter with me. The manager was an absolute disgrace. No customer care measures in place. Guaranteed the tyres would arrive in the afternoon. As they had to order from another supplier. You'd have thought that the manager would have chased the tyres knowing there is a job in place. Anyways had been told that they hadn't got my tyres originally ordered but had a different set. What a joke. Will use Protyres next time as they were actullay cheaper when I called them.

Best ever experience i ever had. Very professional and friendly people. Especially Alex from reception. He took time to explain to me all repairs that i have to do on the car, the costs and when will be finished. When i paid, i received a call from them and i paid easy iver the phone without being necessary to go to them. When i collected the car, MOT and receipt and everything was as it should be. Also they offer a great payment plan. My repairs was costly, but with payment plan offer by them is easier to manage. Also same friendly guy Alex from reception done everything for me. When i collected my car was even earlier than time we discussed over the phone. Amazing services and is my only place where i will go with my car when i need.

I booked a MOT online on Monday 11:30am for Tuesday afternoon 13.30,when I go there the guy on the counter and the manager told me my appointment was cancelled. I asked him who cancelled the appointment as I have email confirmation of appointment and have taken time off for the MOT.,but later on I received the email that my appointment has been cancelled. I was Really disappointed with the service and asked who do I complain to. The manager then rebooked me for Thursday so I had to take time off again. I did complain to customer service they sent me standard letter of apology the next day. I am still waiting for formal reply .

Apparently only one MOT staff member therefore when he called in sick there was no one else available and my MOT had to be cancelled. I only went with Halfords because of the free MOT I was offered through a promotion. However they're next available date to rebook was the day it ran out and I just can't risk them canceling it again as my car is detrimental to my work. The overall experience was very unprofessional and took half an hour just to give me my keys back. I'm not saying they are bad completely as I have had friends and colleagues say good things. But my personal experience with them encourages me not to return.

*UPDATE ON THE BELOW. I'VE BEEN GETTING A KNOCKING NOISE FOR THE PAST WEEK, TOOK IT TO A LOCAK GARAGE AS I THOUGHT IY MIGHT VE THE FLYWHEEL. TURNS OUT THERE WAS 2 BOLTS MISSING AND THE REST WERE LOSE. HALFORDS YOU NEED TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS!* used Halfords to service my car and change brake pads. However when I paid the invoice and returned home I noticed a £25 charge applied for tyre repairs which I wasn't aware was required and I certainly did not authorise this to be carried out. I contacted customer service and refund has been applied. Be cautious and analyse the invoice when using Halford (Enfield.

I originally praised the centre for their speed and efficiency. I now take back that statement. I booked in for a Air Con Diagnostic to check for faults then also the Air Con Regas service on top. I was told that there were no faults and the vehicle was regassed. After almost £200 spent and less than 2-weeks later my vehicle air con is not working at all. Will not use their service again, garage denied all fault for the work and said it worked fine. Air con still does not work and will be taking all business elsewhere from this point on. Poor service and experience.

How anyone is giving this place good reviews is baffling! The manager, Antonio, is abhorrent. A rude, ignorant man who should not be managing this autocentre. Aside from the awful customer service I received from him; the garage damaged my MINI on two occasions, for which I had to pay MINI to sort out. After 2 months of disputes with Halfords head office, the autocentre agreed to pay 2/3 of the cost for the damages caused by themselves, which I guess is better than nothing. I will NEVER use a Halfords autocentre again! Avoid at all costs. You have been warned

Went in for a major service and an MOT for my BMW 3 Series, greeted straight away by Alex who welcomed me and talked me through what work would be happening on my car. A great character, and excellent trade knowledge from Alex made it easy for me to leave my car knowing I would not be coming back to any dramas. He rang me up to update me on my car and again when it was time to be picked up. Had the car since for a few days and am having no problems, couldn't of had a better experience anywhere else. Arrived on Saturday 9th October to get a wheel and tyre changed. There was non one at reception ands so after a little waiting around I had to go to the garage to get attention. This is my only gripe and only reason the review drops a star. I was seen by Montel who took my vehicle and changed the tyre. Montel went above and beyond by checking the air in the other tyres and topping it up where needed. This colleague gets a mention for his good customer service; being friendly polite and adhering social distancing rules.

Had my car MOT done by a great MOT tester Kaan. He was absolutely amazing with knowledge like no other. He explained a vast variety of safety protocols and how to keep the car running smooth and ready for the next MOT. He is an asset to the company and a well deserved team member. Disappointed! I booked online for a tyre to be fitted. I chose the 09:30 slot from the choices available. I arrived in good time at 09:25. I politely greeted by James and gave him my booking ref. He looked it up on the system and then told me that my slot time would be 16:54! Can you explain how this is actually possible to have a disparity of 7 hours? Kudos to James for managing to get me seen by midday and to have the tyre fitted within 30 minutes. Very poor show Halfords

It took 3 hours to change 2 tyres! And it was 8:30 in the morning so no excuse that they were running behind. I’ve been here 3 times and everyone seems knowledgeable and pleasant but you can’t run a business like this. The man at the desk said that the centralised booking system overbooks appointment slots and doesn’t account for how many bays the garage has which, if true, is despicable and means you show no regard for your customers or your staff. Very poor showing

Had my MOT at the Enfield Centre. I was just over 12 minutes late but they still did my MOT which I was grateful for. The assistant manager on the service desk was an excellent example of good customer service. He was humerous, attentive and helpful. The time I spent waiting for my car went by really quicky. Only let down was the customer waiting area which had no refreshment facilities compared to other centres I have attended. Overall good experience however.

Had an MOT done here, went straight in on time and the MOT tester even popped out to acknowledge I was waiting outside and say that he'd get it done as quickly as possible for me. When finished, he made the effort to explain the advisories to me and even topped up the coolant free of charge. They also put plastic covers over the seat and steering wheel which is reassuring. Excellent customer service and felt the MOT was done properly and efficiently.

Efficient service. Went there for wheel alignment, I was seen to fairly quickly. However they appeared to be very busy, with the phone ringing non stop. I had a few questions but they seemed to be too busy so I didn't wait around to ask. I feel they could benefit from additional team members. Alan at the desk seemed was friendly and helpful given the little time he did have to spend with customers. I'd definitely go back here again in the future.

First off - great availability on booking. I've had a Sunday MOT done with Halfords before and I've always managed to get a good booking time (after work or mid-morning). Bloke that runs front desk is friendly, funny and helpful, car was ready for pickup in an hour, invoice mailed out and all done and dusted within a few minutes. Paid a low price and had an offer for a service at the same time, might have to taken them up on that in the future.

My car failed the MOT on two minor faults which they offered to repair for £100+. I declined and took it to Halford's Enfield retail store instead. The store refunded my purchase of the repair items and informed me that there was nothing wrong and to take it back to be retested. It passed. The manager was made aware of what had happened and offered his apologies. No more discussion is necessary. I would fire the person responsible.

Took my car in and I was pleasantly surprised with the customer service and communication. The only issue I had which has nothing to do with the Autocentre but with Halfords booking system. I booked a brake check on a Wednesday and then MOT that Friday. The system joined them together for the same day. My advice is if you have two separate items to be booked in for two separate days that same week, then book them separately.

Great service if you are willing to book a slot and they ignore it! Nightmare having to sit and wait 5 hours for MOT and interim service. Nowhere near shops no facilities. No problem with the work done and only went back after such great service last year. Don’t seem to have any system and my 5 hour wait was after being told they would prioritise my service. If you don’t need your car all day then it’s great.

I've been a customer of this Autocentre for years for both my cars for MOT, services and the odd occasional jobs that come up. I've always received great service and top notch work. Alex is a great guy, very helpful and friendly and the team are also fantastic. I've tried plenty of garages over the years and ended up using this Autocentre almost exclusively. I cannot recommend them enough.

Absolutely fantastic service received at my visit yesterday. I needed my headlight changed on my Smart car. And the staff member Andy helped me with this. I did not have an appointment, and even though they were quite busy working on other cars, Andy went out of his way to squeeze me in and fitted the headlight for me. Will definitely be returning here again. Brilliant customer care.

After a little confusion, about who i was? And the help of one of the mechanics who went beyond helping. All in all it was not a bad experience. But clarification is required on time spans, IE. if a booking is made, this is how long one needs to allow for..... Not turn up and be told its a 4 hour wait for a 1 hour job.? That is just poor customer service, and needs to be amended.

Staff very rude . Cancel my appointment without any notice. Unreasonable wait says don’t have technicians and very busy .but all of them clearly sitting idle and smoking and no car on the bay . Ask for car service says no have any appointments. I service my car from Toyota opposite Halfords much better price and service. Worst experience with Halfords.

I had a free MOT and was worried they would be trying to find work to charge for. I needn’t have worried. The guy in reception was friendly and chatty. MOT was carried out on time and while I watched. No additional charges just friendly service. Spoke to 2 other customers who also said they had had work done here and were always happy with the service.

Paid for a major service and breaks were to be changed. I dont use my car that often. It appears the breaks werent changed. Engine coolent, engine oil and coolent werent topped up. Not sure whst work they actually did. I found evidence of something sprayed on door hinges. I feel cheated out of a lot of money. I dont recommend their garage for any work

You should not repair or do MOT at this centre! They will break your car and they will avoid repairing they re mistakes. Do not trust these lazy mechanics and fully avoid this centre before you leave without car engine parts and all your dashboard will start lighting like a tree. They steal engine parts and other from your car. …

The Full service and MOT that I booked was not carried out until my 3rd visit. The first two visits were cancelled because there were no staff to carry out the work. There was very little customer service - no compensation for the cancellations. I was charged extra for the MOT which the system suggested was included. I was very upset.

It was my first visit to this garage and I have received outstanding service, making my day so much nicer. I will strongly recommend this garage, thanks to the amazing team working in there. Paid, booked MOT in advance. Dropped car off at the agreed time. Subsequently received a call informing me they were unable to honour their agreement and could not perform the MOT. Requested refund and told it would take upto 7 working days. Aside from wasting my time, frustrating I have to wait 7 days to get my money back.

Excellent service. I spoke with the manager Alex on my the phone in the morning. I didn’t have a booking but he said he’d try and fit me in. Car was dropped off by 1pm. Needed new brake discs and pads. All sorted before 4pm. Efficient and good prices. I’ve been looking for a regular garage and I think I’ve found it!

I found the manager/rectionist Alex to be friendly and helpful, the prices for the tyres I had done were compatible to other places and they were fitted quickly. I had a separate issue with the car a week later (something got stuck in my brake disk making it squeal)and they sorted it for free. Good service IMO.

Great Service, dropped my car in at 11:30am for a free Summer health check. The guys there were all very friendly and asked if I had any concerns about the car. I left my car there, and returned 2 hours later to pick it up, all my concerns addressed, extremely happy and will definitely return in future

Terrible . Needed a jump start ..broke down outside their firm . And were unwilling to help in any form shape or way .went two mins round the corner to Toyota main dealer .who were more than happy to help . Shame on you Halfords lazy and rude staff .will not use Halfords in future for anything now

This service use to be good but always just OK. I paid £80 for a check and regas service as Halfords. The AC never got cold. Went back and they have the cheek to say book it for another day. When I already paid £80? I asked for a refund. We don't know if we can do that was their reply- excuse me?

I booked my car in for an MoT and to have my wipers replaced. Due to very heavy traffic in the area, I missed my 8:30am time slot. I rang the branch and they guys said no problem, come at 10:00am. Very happy with the service here and will definitely use them again.

Great Autocentre, in the last month they gave mine and my sisters car's a full service, they kept the price more or less within the initial payment and just gave us advisories on what needs to be done before the car's next MOT so we weren't hit with a huge bill.

Efficient friendly service for MOT even though I arrived late. Good explanation of the failure point and advice how to resolve it. Same day appointment was available. Nowhere to wait outside during covid restrictions and nowhere obvious to get a hot drink.
