This park is an amazing place for all sort of family activities. It ticks all the boxes ..... the playground area is the best part of the park. The range of playing equipments is fantastic, and kids with different age groups and abilities can enjoy it ! Basketball court, flying fox, trampoline, musical bridge ( it's what I have named it ), sand and water play area, and other normal range of playground equipment. The BBQ facilities are fantastic and it is undercover which is a bonus for summer or rainy day. Few tables have printed chess board and backgammon on them so if you have the playing pieces you can play. The other side of the park has a nice establishment of memorial soldiers , and a nice garden of beautiful range of local plants and a beautiful rose garden . This park has a magnificent color in autumn with colourful autumn leaves! The carpark access is via Bowling green Ln on Mitcham Rd or sometimes it's a good idea to access park from Ormond Avenue.

We have been coming to Halliday Park for 15 years, before and after the renovation. As well as the playground which is great, there are large open spaces for playing a variety of games and sports. Also there are BBQs surrounded by large trees that afford excellent shade. It is a great family friendly space. The toilets are clean and accessible since the upgrade. In warm weather it is very popular so if you are planning an activity get there early or be prepared to share the space. The one small problem is the access off Mitcham Rd. It is a narrow driveway and can be awkward when cars at the bowls club are parked on this driveway. Just need to be patient. All in all a great space in Mitcham for all abilities.

This is another good playground with two flying foxes (one with a harness to keep littler children secure - it's a bit flimsy, though), swings and slides, a great water play area with pump and damn walls to build the water up in one section only, an in-ground mini trampoline, and a swinging pendulum-like stand, kind of like the one at Science Works. Plenty of shade and cover, and nearby BBQ area popular with group exercise. Plenty of parking as it's right next to the bowls club and Mitcham Primary School, which is easily accessible by a closed (not locked) gate. The school has three play areas as well, including basketball/netball courts. A great playground.

Halliday Park is a gem of a playground and a wonderful location full stop for adults and those seeking a friendly place to congregate. With its lovely mature oak trees providing shade, BBQ facilities, toilet block nearby and rose garden, Halliday truly is the type of playground you’ll be happy to return to. The playground itself is excellent - a variety of play areas to suit different ages and abilities; from small-scale climb and slide areas, to a ‘water play’ section complete with water pump and ‘gates’ for play at damming and releasing the flowing water, to a small I ground trampoline to the various swings; Halliday ticks almost all the boxes.

Fantastic large playground but there are a couple of bits of play equipment that are ridiculously dangerous. My son smashed his face trying to hold on to that chain board swing. If smaller children put their hands near it while someone is on it they would lose their fingers. You have to be quite big to use it but all the smaller children gravitate towards it. Last time we were there, bigger children were climbing onto the smaller children’s cubby house and jumping off it. It would be good if a sign was up advising parents that it’s for smaller children to play in.

It was much better back in the 90s and each time I come to visit, it gets much worse. The only remnant of a massive horizontal spiderweb is a small hammock. The large amount of play equipment has vanished and replaced with something i'd expect of a local footy oval. The water flow...thing did not work, no matter what way I spun the wheel, The flying foxes have shrunk and now they add a half court to play basketball. At least the swing in the bottom left is pretty good. The War Memorial is the same. It never changes.

Very popular park for fitness groups and children. Then playing equipments are well maintained and here are plenty of shades and seated areas and tables. The shared covered areas are also great for parties and gatherings. However, parents PLEASE BE AWARE!!!!! before you let your little ones to run free, look out for the broken glasses bottle pieces, they can often be found near the covered area and outside the public toilet block. Make sure your kids always wear shoes inside the park area.

  • Tanya Wells

Always a family favourite for meet ups. The undercover area is perfect for party setups in close proximity to BBQs and huge playground so you can keep an eye on the kids. The large oak trees and well maintained gardens offer lovely surrounds. Good walking track around the oval size grass area, plenty of space for kicking a ball without it crashing into a gathering. Look out for the new ice cream van on the weekend.

  • Mia Gore

Specifically came to this park as suggested by Mamma Knows East and what an excellent recommendation! All rages play spaces with plenty of options for BBQ, picnic, running & even basketball. We will be back very soon! Playground is shaded by many large gumnut trees which is fantastic in the middle of summer! Toilet were terrible but at least there were toilets we could use (brings wipes etc).

  • The Robsons

Very big and your child can be out of eyesight in 2 seconds. I don't understand why parks especially this size don't have fences with a single entrance to make it easier for parents to monitor comings and goings of strangers and their children. And for safety for dogs and roads too. Maybe I'm paranoid. But honestly this should be something council people look into for all parks

  • Elizabeth Wang

Great playground for all ages with flying foxes one seated for younger children and the other for older children . Playground is situated in the middle of the park so away from traffic and quiet. The car park is down where the sign says bowling club. Lots of seating and BBQ area with shade, there was 3 parties and it didn't feel crowded. Great for the whole family.

  • Adele Michael

Took a friends child down here for a play and was completely amazed at this park. So much play equipment and so variable, that there was equipment for children of all ages. Plenty of grass area to play ball sports and spread out. Great BBQ area, which is in the shade for people to use. This playground has been very well thought out for children and family groups.

  • Scottie Davis

Large park with newly renovatec children's play area. A few bbqs and tables. One sheltered area with tables. Large shaded areas for picnics. Dog's on leads only. Public toilet near to playground. Large family groups, so get in early if you want a particular space. Sundays often have to contend with rubbish left from Saturdays users.

  • Paul Hendrick

Good sized park, plenty of room for ball sports, seating & picnic tables, has public toilets, playground for the kids & has drinking fountain with catchment bowl for the dogs to drink from. Gravel walking path around park, car park is a little small though. Good for dog walking ( but due to size of park, it won't be a long walk).

  • Jon Yeow

Spacious garden with wide area of grass for sports and to bring your pets around. Includes a playground with a flying fox, swings and other similar playground equipments that you children will love. Newly renovated half court basketball area is decent, but floor gets a little slippery when wet due to it being outdoors.

  • Missusv Mifev

Beautiful park, great play equipment. Just be cautious with kids around the flying fox area. There's no barrier plants to distinguish the flying fox from the walking area. Children often run right through it and can be easily bowled over up someone coming down on the flying fox. Other than that a great park all round

  • Jackie Atienza

Beautiful park with great facilities for young families, including large playground, large grassy open-area, clean toilets with change table, and 4 BBQs with at least half a dozen small tables with bench seats mostly shaded by trees. Decent parking lot, but can get full quite quickly by 10:30-11am on a nice day.

  • R4Z0R84

Massive tripping hazard right next to the playground in the eating area, those bricks aren't flat and my niece face planted when slowly walking over the eating area ruining the whole outing, the park itself looked great just keep your kids away from the eating area if they're young or they'll hit the deck.

  • G S

I have been to this park, it is very nice to play for kids and also for kids parties and picnic place.. Does any one know how it will be during really hot days like 39 degrees over this week end? any recommendations or advise better to host party in the park during hot days at 4pm? welcome on suggestions.

  • Syrous Eghanian

Perfect place to spend time with family and friends on nice sunny day. Plently of equipments for kids to play and huge open space. I love the shade created by large trees which really give feeling of park and being with nature. Kids love zip line (flying fox) and huge swing. Worth visiting.

  • Mike Stevens

Plenty of shade and seating BBQ facilities (free) Huge grounds Water play Flying fox Beautiful oak trees Rubberised paths Very good toilet facilities with baby change table in the men’s toilet Lots of parking but often full Burger joint up on Maroondah Hwy is worth hitting up first

  • Jenny Chen

Good variety of play equipment, best suited for younger kids. Large, leafy trees to provide plenty of shade. There were a few broken equipment which is a pity, the water play section wasn't turned on either. Plenty of parking when we went and overall a nice little park.

  • WilliamWaterWave

Great park, for families has BBQ, toilets, play area and easy parking. Enough space to kick a footy and a track to walk or run on. Great place for lovers of PokemonGo... poke stops and gyms and Community Day always lots of other players to help raid …

  • Geoffrey Warren

A pleasant park with a children's play area and a gazebo for extra hot or wet weather. Toilet facilities are available but are pretty limited (e.g. one toilet for males and that's it). There is a car park accessible via a side road on the northern boundary.

  • Victor Yang

This playground is not super big but packed with lots of modern facilities for kids to play. The playground is designed for kids of all ages. Toilets, bbq, basketball court, flying fox. The facilities are very complete. A perfect place for kids to enjoy.

  • JB Eddy

Great park with assortment of playground equipment, BBQ facilities, change rooms for parents, and large open areas for activities. Get there early on weekends, as BBQs and seats do fill up. Parking can be tight, but the Bowls club next door has space.

  • Tony Titheridge

This has been one of the most underrated parks in the outer east. An expanse of space big enough to get lost in, with good playground facilities, open areas for sport and plenty of tracks for every two legged and four legged family member. A gem.

  • Francesjk Keyland

One of the best childrens play areas I have seen. There is a water play feature, where you can create your own stream with different mechanisms to 'dam' the water. There are some great innovative climbing frames and swings. Lots of shade as well.

  • Jason Huxley

Massive playground with flying foxes, swings, trampoline, slides, merry go round etc. very popular. Kids always have a ball here playing on everything. BBQ's. Not much seating so bring your own chairs cos it goes quickly. Well worth the visit.

  • Matt Newton

Great playground especially for younger kids. Has 2 flying foxes. Mini in ground tramp. Play equipment could be bigger. Place for bows and generally most people that attend actually watch out for their own kids... So not many unruly kids

  • Eryl Jones

Great local park. Plenty of space for a variety of activities, great inclusions including basketball court and bbqs and plenty of open grass area for dog walking. This is a dog on leash park, definitely not suitable for dogs off leash.
