On October 1, 2019 my husband Barry Reid passed away suddenly and I was left to make arrangements. Barry wanted a simple cremation, so I made a list of what I was looking for and who could provided the best service I needed. I called around from a list that Burnaby victim services provided and I was just not feeling comfortable with any of them and the prices varied. So I got thinking my husband's mother just passed away on January 21, 2019 up in Prince George and they used the funeral home Assman's. The family were very pleased with their service, and one of things that was on my list was the Thief ID protection they provided. So I called them so ask if they knew of a funeral home in the Vancouver area that provided that service. They informed me that they have a few sister companies and Hamilton Harron was one of them. So I called and was transferred to Douglas Madge, well after speaking with him and getting the answers I was looking for, I made an appointment right away. The other reason I went with Hamilton was of Doug, he spoke to me with such feeling and respect, he listened to everything I had to say and he was able to get a good picture of what I was looking for, he also informed me what I would need to bring for our meeting. A few days later my sister and I met with Doug and he was wonderful, he went through everything that he spoke about with me the few days before; the process, how the cremation worked, what we can expect, forms that were needed to sign (including the Thief ID), options we might be interested in and of course the cost. Not once did I feel pressured on anything, he talked to me so I felt that my story was being heard, I felt comfortable about everything. By the time we left I felt that everything was going to be okay and that my husband was in the best hands, Doug ensured me that he would be treated with the up most respect, I loved that it made me feel I made the right choice. Not once did I feel rushed I was able to take all the time I needed to go through the emotions. Also, your office had the Death Certificate ready for me, that was great I could then continue with others things I need to do where I had to have it. I have already spoken to people/friends my experience and was proud to give the name of Hamilton and Doug. Please pass onto Doug that he made this experience a good memory and I truly appreciate everything that was done. Thank you Carla Reid

This is our second time with Hamilton funeral home. We are very pleased with our mother funeral process last time , this time is the completely unsatisfied with our requirements. Doug is the person in charge this time, I would not recommend this funeral house ,the service is very poor. When we went there to discuss the funeral time and service , we understood of the COVID 19 and we decided to make it simple this time but want to be the same as my mom service, we told Doug our family need half an hour to say goodbye to my father and we will go to view the cremation. Doug told me that 10 o’clock we will meet at the Hamilton funeral home for the goodbye viewing, after the goodbye viewing they will transfer my dad for cremation on the opposite side of the street. On the funeral day, Doug called me at 8:15am and told me my dad was at the cremation place , I ask him the reason why , he told me that they are not transferring my dad over and we will do the goodbye viewing at the cremation place and right away for the cremation and he told us we have to arrive at 9:30, the viewing cremation was at 10 .When we arrived the cremation place , the room is so small and so dark, within that half hours time, Doug non stop pulling my sister to talk to her, as this is the last moment of our family want to with my dad ,Doug non stop disturbing us and we feel annoying ,not respectful and rushing us to finish the ceremony to my dad and my family. The experience that my family have this time is so horrible that I would not even give one star if there is an option .

My husband passed away during the period of COVID-19. So the funeral representative communicated with me over the phone(contactless). I am not satisfied with their so called professional service that he never took the initiative to explain to me what the cremation procedure was like? When would it be arranged? I have no idea at all about funeral arrangements. He’s more focus on the contract that needed me to sign, he did not explain the details what the charges were. When the grieving was over, I calmed down and thinking of something I didn’t understand. I found that some services we did not need but was charged. Finally I signed a new contract but he didn't respond to me when my husband’s cremation could be scheduled. He made us wait in sorrow. He did not inform us until next day my husband’s cremation was done!! I was very upset that why not inform me to let me pray for my husband when he was being cremated at the same time? In short, his so-called professional service is really not professional at all!

One of our staff members had a tragic loss and these are her words: My mother and I were inseparable since the day Dad passed away. We lived together, had lively intellectual debates and laughed together every single day. She was my confidant, my advisor and most importantly my best friend. On November 26th, I woke to find my mother had very unexpectedly died in the night. I didn’t know what to do, so I called 911. It was all a blur, the Ambulance came, then the police, then the coroner, and finally when I was asked where she would be taken? I knew the only place for me was Hamilton Harron Funeral Home. They were our clients and all around genuinely good people. They took very good care of my mom and of me during this heart wrenching time. They looked after all of the arrangements and worked with me so I could make the payments necessary. Ian, Gerry, and Brett each took the time and effort during the whole dreadful experience to make as easy as possible on me with sincerity, respect, and dignity.

I have nothing but good things to say about Hamilton Harron FH. From the people, service provided, the care, accommodation, the attention that was given to us and our beloved mother. A special thank you to Keith Louw for everything. Keith made things as easy as possible for us, handled everything with such care and devotion. He answered every question and took every phone call/email. He was extremely patient and ensured we were all comfortable. When he brought me to see my mother I was alone at the time. He stayed close by to ensure I was alright. I am a mother of 5 young children who had just lost their grandmother they all grew up with. Although this was an unfortunately and painful time in our lives Keith went above and beyond to ensure everyone, including the children, was taken care of. If you want someone to handle your loved ones with care and dignity. Someone that truly cares and has a passion for what they do, Keith and the team at HH is who you want by your side. Mary Aguilar

Thank you to the Dignity Memorial team! We were in between Forest Lawn and Hamilton Harron. I lost my dad suddenly. My family and I decided to go with Hamilton Harron for their more intimate chapel and dealt mostly with Gerry. I was very overwhelmed with the loss of my dad and also how sudden everything was but Gerry was so informative and helpful. She made sure we knew exactly what we were getting into and exact numbers. Perfect suggestions to everything we were unsure about. Gerry was so pleasant to deal with and made sure everything was taken care of. On the day of the funeral service, we had monks come by and the entire Hamilton Harron team were so respectful in assisting us with all the items we needed. I got a few lockets for me and my brother and I arrived within 2 business days. Amazing!! I can't thank the Dignity Memorial team enough as we also ended up having dad in the Forest Lawn memorial park which we also received nothing but amazing, amazing service.

We had the services for my aunt here and it was the most poorly conducted service I've ever attended. The funeral director forgot to have her death certificate signed by a doctor and all of the mourners are left standing around for an hour and a half at the cemetery in January while he scrambled to get it done then. There were 10 days from when she passed before we had the services. He didn't even have the courage or decency to make an announcement as to why everyone, young and old, were waiting around until asked after an hour in the cold. He did offer a quick apology at the very end. I'm not an expert in the funeral business but one would assume this is one the of the most basic requirements. I would not wish the additional grief of dealing with this place on anyone. I would give this place less than one star if it was an option.

We have nothing but kind words for the services provided by Hamilton Harron Funeral Home's entire team. They offer not just a "package" of services, rather, they are truly invested in accommodating the family's needs and personal requests. At first, we had no idea on what we had to, nor where we'd have to begin after the sudden passing of our mother. We are very grateful that they have walked us through the process without having to make us feel that we are dealing a "business transaction" on top of our grieving. They made sure that we didn't feel burdened by the preparations. To sum it up, they truly exceeded our expectations. Our family and friends were also very impressed with how they've professionally delivered their services. We definitely recommend Hamilton Harron Funeral Home. Thanks again for everything.

The staff at Hamilton Harron were very professional and sympathetic during this difficult time in our family's lives. Our funeral director Ian worked hard to ensure the service was beautiful and customized to our dads personality. He checked in with our family after the service to make sure we were ok, and provided us with the number of a help hotline if needed. Ian and the staff were very easy to communicate with and worked with us to make sure we were able to give our dad a beautiful service. A big thank you to Ian and the staff for everything they did. I would highly recommend Hamilton Harron to anyone looking for funeral arrangements.

I would highly recommend this funeral home to individuals who have lost an individual. My father passed away last week and Gerry was able to help my family and I out. Prior to meeting Gerry, we had no luck of booking a space at other funeral homes. Unlike other funeral homes, they did not mention anything about money. They were able to successfully coordinate a funeral that aligned with the Sikh religion. Additionally, we were able to peacefully say our last good byes to my father. Thank you to Gerry, Doug, and Debby.

Hamilton Harron did an excellent job catering to my families needs. They are very experienced in religious services and have many props/music at their funeral home for various services. The virtual arrangement was very easy and timeless. I was able to get in contact with a staff member at all times. The process and the paperwork was thoroughly explained. All staff members during the service was understand and empathetic. Could not have gone with a better funeral home.

First and foremost, I want to specifically thank Gerry (Ms.G), for all the support helping to have a graceful memorial. Look, people this lady is perfect in love for you to get what you need. She was hands on throughout the entire process. She cares! She loves! If it was not from the sound of her voice from the beginning, knowing that she cares. I won’t not have Hamilton the home for father’s memorial. She and her team was that great. She is like family..!

my family and I were very impressed with the service and staff at Hamilton. they did not pressure us into anything that we did not request or require and was very accommodating in our needs especially since we had to change the date of the cremation due to weather(snow). I highly recommend them as they take very good care of your loved ones and to your family with grace and understanding.

Weren't impressed by funeral cards I could have done a better job on my inkjet printer. Then 1 month after father in laws death they send out a survey about their services for the grieving widow to fill out. They are supposed to be helping you through this hard time not making it worse. Our family has been using their services for almost a century, I don't think we will using them again.

We worked with Ian to help organize my brother's funeral service and cremation. Ian was very clear, patient, and professional throughout the entire process. Although my mother had many changes in our funeral/cremation plans, Ian was able to adapt quickly help to keep my mother happy during a time of grief.

The'facility is lovely but we were in the secondary viewing room due to the attendance. No air flow or a/c on and was stiffling. Viewing tv for the service was only on for a short time and cut out so had no viewing memorial.
