On August 8th, I stayed at Hampton Inn with a group of friends. This hotel stay for one night cost almost $400. With limited hotels available that night, we decided to pay. As we arrived at the hotel, we saw a bug on the door. We killed it and didn't make a big deal of it. Later that night, we arrived at the hotel and noticed bugs on the nightstand. We immediately picked up the phone to call someone at the front desk but saw no cords plugged into the phone (we later found out this was normal). I went to the desk to inform them that we had bugs in our room and showed her the video. She was shocked and stated that this was unacceptable! She emailed the video to herself and immediately offered to move us to another room. The associste had someone from maintenance help us gather all of our belongings and set up the new room. Still feeling a little uneasy about the situation, we settled in. We pulled the mattress from the couch and found popcorn kernels on the mattress!!! Yuck! It's a good thing the maintenance guy was there and witnessed the nasty bed! We reported this incident to the front desk, and she said we needed to talk to the hotel manager name Rebecca. We meet Rebecca the next morning during checkout. We were told no refund could be made because we booked through an outside vendor. Rebecca stated when booking calls, she would confirm that a refund was needed. The outside vendor contacted Hampton Inn to verify what happened. They informed them the problem was resolved because we moved to a new room ( the popcorn room). No refund was given!! In closing, I understand things happen but management should do a better job at handling those situations! I would not recommend this hotel! I would not recommend this hotel

Since my main objective of going to Charlotte was to see the NASCAR Hall of Fame, the location of this hotel was ideal. Main selling point was the garage, as others in the area warned of limited, first come first serve parking and the fact that one could reserve a room as well as a car space online. Was happy that I could choose a room with the app. I was a little worried about the digital key and if it would get me into the garage, but found that it worked for both the garage entrance and room without a hitch. Unfortunately, there was a sign at the entrance to register your car or else it could be towed. I dutifully went down to the front desk to register, only to be told not to worry about it. Person at the front desk offered card keys as a back up, and accepted so the trip wouldn't be a total loss. The night before check out, I found extra charges for parking, and had to make another trip to the front, as no one was answering the phone, despite ringing over 30 times, to have these charges taken off. Suspect these were added when I tried to register my car initially. Forgot the exact line item but mentioned "add on" and more expensive than the online charge. Guess it pays to check the bill. Long story short, a nice touchless experience was marred by these 2 instances. Room was good and nicely supplied, though I thought it was haunted as one of the lights flickered and the toilet would top itself off with water every hour or so. Also, the hot water was a little iffy depending on the hour. The common areas like the elevator and hallways are in need of up keep, though. Finally, there is a walkway to the garage on the 4th and 5th floors, so you might consider parking there, depending on the floor of your room.

I don't like writing reviews like this. I try to stay away from negative reviews. I stayed 6 days (10/4 - 10/10). This was the most inconvenient stay I think I've ever had at a Hampton Inn. By inconvenient, I mean I woke up EVERY morning without hot water and had to ask the front desk to turn it on. Twice, no one answered the phone, so I had to find someone in the lobby. Towards the end, I had to adjust my routine and wake up a half hour early (5am) because I knew I had to give it time to warm up so I wasn't late for work or no shower at all. Parking was a disaster (not sure who designed that garage, but it's an angels miracle I didn't run into anything. Not to mention the entrances to the 4th and 5th floor are TIGHT to carry in luggage. The TV had no channels. wouldn't even change. Something about it needed to be added to the room. There was a constant buzz from a speaker inside the room and hallway. Wasn't enough to keep me up and in time tuned it out, but it was always there. When approached, the staff was generally very nice except when answering the phone at 5am. It was a bit awkward having to tell them to turn on their own hot water heater.

We stayed during Thanksgiving 2023. The overall stay was great and the hotel location was also walking distance majority of the places we visited. A few comments about our stay. The door to the hotel from the 4th floor garage does not latch consistently. Informed hotel rep. The light in the 3rd floor corridor towards the stairs and parking is out. Informed hotel rep. Hotel rep indicated both issues are in the repair order for 11/24/23. Both were safety and security issues as strangers can get access to the hotel through the garage. During our stay, we encountered a person lookin inside our cars parked on the 4th floor. Hotel rep asked the person to leave.

Rooms were comfortable. Requested firmer pillows as the ones in the room are flat. Bring toothbrush and toothpaste.
Safety
4th floor door from the garage to the hotel does not consistently close/lock. Hotel rep indicated that there is a repair order and was in the process of fixing it the day of 11/24/23.
Walkability
Numerous places are walking distance from the hotel. A+

I was traveling around the country and came upon Charlotte. I had been using my IHG account and decided this time to use my Hilton app. We wanted a hotel with a hot tub and indoor pool. The pictures on the app showed this hotel had an indoor pool and hot tub. We booked and paid online. Upon our arrival at around 9pm, we discovered that there was no hot tub. I decided to go to the front desk to inquire and complain around 9:15 pm. The front desk lady basically told me "Oh well" and it was not her fault. I was very unhappy with her demeanor and response. She then told me I should go ahead and check out. I confronted her on her cold response and unwillingness to sympathize, ruining my vacation experience. I explained to her it was way too late to try and find another hotel, and that my kids were extremely disappointed. She then began yelling at me and telling me to leave the hotel. I yelled back and told her I will complain as much as I want to. She verbally attacked me because I was displeased with the false advertising.

Very friendly, helpful staff from front desk to breakfast crew who make you feel very welcome! Delicious breakfast with every possible breakfast item, and we were greeted each morning by smiling staff with a "Good Morning; How are you?" which helped get our days off to positive starts! Room was just the right size for two of us travelling with a medium-sized dog, and the room was clean and comfortable! Upon arrival, even though I did not request it, front desk clerk moved us to a 2nd floor room (from the 8th floor room to which we originally had been assigned) to accommodate our elderly, arthritic dog (we would have managed, but the change was greatly appreciated!). Hotel was conveniently located in Uptown near lots of restaurants and event centers within easy walking distance. This is a very well-run hotel, and, should we find ourselves in Uptown Charlotte again, we will definitely stay here!

Room and hotel were clean. Only complaint is not being able to get straight to my floor from the parking deck. Had to go up a floor and then back down. Also the noise from people in the hallway was very loud inside my room. I want to shout out to Tony at the front desk. My checkout day, I woke up sick and dizzy. I waited as long as possible to checkout hoping to feel better soon. After checkout, I stayed in the lobby a little while longer but decided I wasn't getting any better and couldn't drive in that condition. I called someone to come get me. Tony let me back in my room even though I had checked out so I could lie down until my ride got there which was going to be an hour or so. When I came down, he checked on me again and gave me a bottle of water. I went outside to wait for my ride and he even came outside shortly after to be sure I was ok and wasn't going to faint on the sidewalk. I've never received such caring service in a hotel before.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn by Hilton in downtown Charlotte this weekend and the experience was awful! We walked into our room which was stink. It looked as though someone had just showered. There were dirty towels on the floor and the bed was unmade. I called downstairs and she said "yeah yeah you don't have to say nothing else I'll give you another room". We had to go back downstairs to the lobby to get the key carrying our bags back down with us. They moved us down two floors and instead of our nice view of the city we were facing a construction site. The TV didn't work but I'm handy so I fixed it. As a rewards member I have to say it's not worth it. I'd consider a different hotel chain. Bed looked like Batman just humped in it

Enjoyed my recent stay during a conference. Appreciated the close proximity to the Conference Center and other amenities, including Whole Foods. Staff were friendly and helpful although the hot water for tea was sometimes only lukewarm and the coffee pot was empty in the morning. There was some renovation going on and I'll chalk it up to the chaos of that, although I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt because they upgraded me to a nicer room and were very professional otherwise.

It was a bummer that the hotel didn’t have the in room Jacuzzi or the pool open as advertised. The lady at the front desk had offered me a refund, but my trip was planned weeks in advance so I just took the king suite that I had paid for. The room was very nice and updated so I was satisfied. Breakfast was OK. Staff was very polite and one guy kept going out of his way to help me when needed. The bed was comfortable and the views were good. Very convenient location. Only 5-15 min from everything I had planned. Would definitely stay again. This review would have definitely been five stars but I was really looking forward to relaxing in the Jacuzzi during my self care weekend there. I would’ve planned another activity or spa day had I known beforehand.

We were in town for my mother in laws funeral. I sure wish our hotel experience had been more enjoyable. The 5 stars are only directed to the front desk. The lady was very helpful and friendly. She made us feel welcome immediately. The rooms are very standard for such an expensive price. The water was barely warm at all. Housekeeping was knocking on our door at 9:00 a.m. and again at 9:30 a.m. I feel like parking should have been included as expensive as the room was but that was an additional $25. The final charge for a one night stay was $316, for a king bed and standard bathroom. Not worth it at all.

Please don't ever stay here. The rooms are so dark, if you need to do makeup, forget it. There is I never light and that's by the front door. The hallways are narrow and parking is not very convenient if you stay on one floor you have to park on another. It's not good for a woman traveling alone. The front desk agents were very nice, but this hotel is definitely not a place I would ever recommend on any occasion. The location is great, but for the price, it's awful. The tub was nasty, and they gave us used tissue boxes. I took photos of the disgusting bathroom. The front desk comped both my parking nights due to the nastiness. Be careful with your vehicle the parking lot is a hot mess.

We were in town for the RWT and the gentleman at the front counter was a jerk. I wish I knew his name, he attempted to charge my credit card multiple times after I told him we'd pre-paid for our stay already. He insisted the location never charged me. After I showed him my card receipt showing paid in full, he continued to say we needed to pay again. The manager Rebecca stood around and did not rectify the situation until after I stepped out and called the 800 number and had them fix the issue. Overall, we did enjoy our room and amenities!

I stayed for two nights and it was kind of clunky all around. Navigating throughout the hotel has circuitous paths at times with dark halls, smelly rooms, stairwells that dump you into alleys outside, etc. The gym was alright but the bike had clip in pedals and no elliptical. The plumbing made a lot of groaning sounds and the low pressure flow in the shower never got very hot. The internet was somewhat slow and the tv signal was spotty at least the one night I tried to use it. I didn’t hate the stay but there were just a lot of little things that added up.

The front desk service was Excellent, especially the professionalism & courtesy of Tamika on the night shift (I hope I got her name right). I had some concerns about my husband coming in at a different time, parking, etc & she took care of it & I didn't have to worry...My husband arrived & got situated without any problems, just as she had said. The breakfast was plentiful & good as well. I will definitely stay here again when in Charlotte in the future! Would be nice to have a bar or lounge added.

Nothing but great things to say about our stay. The rooms were clean and staff was friendly. We were put in a room across from one of the walk ways with a door that slams shut. I have a sleeping disorder and when I wake up, it’s hard to go back to sleep. I requested a new room because of this. Not only did they happily accommodate this request, they put us on the opposite end of the hallway, away from the walk way. With the hotel being in uptown, it’s also nice that the hotel has its own parking garage connected to the hotel.

I made a reservation and got my reservation number. Showed up at 2:50 am. She said she couldn't check me in after 2am. I said okay and asked if they would charge my card. She no so I gave her my name and then after I was 15 minutes down the road trying to get a different hotel room, she tried to charge my card. Good thing I gave them a locked card. Very bad experience that left me extremely irrated while I'm pregnant and was just trying to get a room to sleep tonight without being put through extra trouble and scamed.

Walking distance to spectrum center and restaurants. Hotel was clean, rooms well appointed. All the staff were courteous and friendly. Breakfast was nice, food hot and well cooked. Only neg, when we arrived at 2:15 we were told our room was ready but to check in now versus 3pm was a “early Check in fee”. Oh well no where else to go but really? Still enjoyed our stay and would just be more aware if we came back.

I stayed here for a weekend with friends and it was a wonderful experience. The hotel is in a great location in the city of Charlotte. The staff was amazing! They were very helpful when we arrived as we were unfamiliar with the area. They gave us a variety of recommendations for places to eat and visit for the weekend. The front desk staff was very friendly they greeted us upon arrival and answered all of our questions and ensured we were accommodate the entire stay.

Visiting the Nascar Hall of Fame? This is the place to go, you could literally count the steps until the HOF. Close to main attractions in uptown and plenty of dining options within a 15-min radius walking. The week I visited was not too busy in uptown so they could accommodate me in a corner room, top floor. That was nice!

The shower is horrible. It never gets hot and the pool is freezing with no hot tub. I tried to warm off in the shower after the pool and couldn’t even do it. You also have to pay $25 to park on top of the price. The place itself is nice but that’s it.I would not recommend or ever come back to this hotel because of the showers.

There is no hot tub. Their photos and other travel websites are misleading. The photos were taken years ago before the renovation. The shower water was cold when I took shower at about 11pm. The hotel was trying to overly charge me for the vehicle parking fee although I didn’t park my car in their garage at all. All bad experience. Will not book this hotel any more.

Chose to stay here as we were stopping the night in Charlotte and it was convenient to the restaurants. The parking access is weird and the hotel lobby entry is through the garage.
