Absolutely amazing & well worth the high admission fee as there’s plenty of things included in it (rides) Absolutely tons to do & see highly educational as well. Perfect for getting kids off the devices! You need an entire day to see & do everything as the site is massive. Loved that the kiddie rides, ride & boat rides are all inclusive of you’re admission however be sure to check what day you go on as on Wends they do NOT offer the boat ride. I was very impressed that I had lots of choice for food a beverage. They have a brewery/ restaurant in the Quonset that stores the vintage automobiles. Live music was playing outside & although they do not have a petting zoo there are a good selection of live animals inc some rare 3 wk old turkeys I believe You can take rides and there is a shuttle that operates regularly The mini Ferris wheel was brilliant & the two gentleman staffing it were wonderful w/ the children - the rides were a definite hi light Mini donuts & a authentic snow cone available in the midway area w/ the typical other fast food ie: hotdogs Lovely bakery on the Main Street offering bread buns cookies & scones? Printing press area you can buy notebooks & bookmarks … neat for kids as print material is starting to become quite a novelty nowadays was nice to see the written word on paper! Be prepared to do tons of walking…

I went to Heritage Park with my children. My youngest uses a wheelchair/ stroller, so we are very aware of accessibility when we visit places. We were able to make our way around a few places with ease, but I was most impressed with the steam train! I was completely ready to have my son's help my daughter onto the train and carry her stroller on board, or leave it behind and double back for it later. While asking a Conductor about the departure times, he directed us to the last train car. I figured it was an easier car to help walk my daughter up to, but we were met with something way better. They had an electric lift to easily load passengers onto the train!! Inside the train car, they had anchors installed to secure the wheelchairs while the train was moving. The rest of us sat on benches next to her. My daughter loved feeling included, and I loved the inclusion for families!! The Conductors were all amazing and so helpful. We are so appreciative of the accommodations that have been added. Thank you, Heritage Park!

Highly recommend getting a chance to walk through a living history park. We stumbled upon Heritage Park while going to the Gasoline Alley Museum and so happy we did. We arrived early with the only queue was to buy tickets. I recommend purchasing tickets before hand to help minimize the hassle. Heritage Park has actors and professionals like the Black Smith who use period tools to restore or fabricate repairs for antique machinery. Everyone was very courteous and happy to answer questions and teach you about what it was like living and working a hundred years into the past. It was amazing to walk through history and see how much technology has advanced. We learned about Woodworking, Black Smithing, being a Veterinary, and got to ride on a real steam engine train. We took an Uber from downtown Calgary, though there is some public transit available. If you are visiting the area, try to make a visit to Heritage Park. We want to go back during the winter as it looks magical.

An excellent tourist attraction for everyone particularly an exciting and exhilarating place for a family with children. The heritage park village, in the proximity to Bow river and a huge dock, consists of clean green lawns, paved walking trails, and attractive statues of various animals. It also has a train that take you around the park. There are lots of tables everywhere to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenic views and electrified visitors. Also there are shops and restaurants near the entrance where you can buy souvenirs or ice cream of your choice. I wish, the park has so much to offer, that it remained open until at least 8:00 pm in summer. Unfortunately, it closes at five, so the security guards start chasing people away from 4:30. Isn't 4:30 too early to wind up and send the enthusiastic people away in the long sunny days in Calgary?

My recent visit to the Western Canada History Park was truly remarkable. The park offers a captivating journey into the rich history and diverse cultural heritage of Western Canada. With interactive exhibits and engaging activities for all age groups, it ensures that every visitor can learn and enjoy themselves simultaneously. The knowledgeable and friendly staff were eager to share their passion for the region's past, making the experience even more memorable. The park's well-maintained grounds, coupled with stunning scenery, created the perfect backdrop for this historical adventure. I highly recommend the Western Canada History Park for anyone seeking to gain a deeper understanding of the region's history and culture.

The most wonderful parks of all! Beautiful space, amazing staff, and so much entertainment. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable. You could, and should (!) spend all day there! Take the train around the park to cool off with a nice breeze and get a real feel for the park visually. The kids can go on amusement park rides and get some tasty ice cream or some wonderful homemade pie. They have entertainment shows throughout the day, which is fun for the whole family. You can hop on a quick tractor ride that stops at different spots if your legs are getting tired. We drive six hours one way each year to visit! Worth the price!

I never been to a heritage park with such immense history and historical artifacts. They have made a model town , farmland, train , truck, and so many historical areas , shops , restaurants, hotels, etc. That I felt I traveled back to time in a time machine. Every location has an awesome history, and there are very knowledgeable personnel who fill you in with great background storyline and history. A must visit place to realize how far we have come today progress-wise and to acknowledge the resilience our ancestors had , that led us to live a comfortable life today.

This is such a fun place to bring the family! There are so many things to do here. We rode the steam train, looked at the train cars, blacksmith shop, dentist office, rode on the rides, visited the gift shop, ate donuts and cotton candy. Then there was so much more we didn't get to do because we ran out of time. There are employees everywhere in costume to help out or talk about the different buildings and things to see. Everyone was so helpful and kind! The treats were yummy and reasonably priced. This time we were here with a school trip but we've been here before with just family. Love this place! Next time we'll visit the ranch and ride the boat.

You cannot do everything in this park or see everything in this park in a couple of hours. Plan to spend a day. It's a beautiful place and everything has been so well restored and taken care of. Love how you feel from the staff like you are back in time. Everyone there was super friendly. Each staff member was always willing to give you any information you needed. This is a spectacular place to go. My only complaint would be that it is a bit pricey when you have a big group and to also have to pay for parking was disappointing. Highly recommend going here.

It's an incredible place not to be missed on your visit to Calgary. The area has been kept like it jade been in the early 20th century and certain things have been added to raise the atmosphere of that period. You can easily spend the future day in the village as the place is huge. There is a train going around the village that you should not miss. Also, the half-hour horse ride where you will get to know the details of the place from the guide is very interesting. Make sure that you go here on a sunny day as you will be walking a lot outside.

I tried going to Heritage Park in Calgary by taxi, but unfortunately, most of the areas were closed. I was a bit disappointed because I couldn't enjoy the exhibits and activities I had anticipated. However, the natural environment was beautiful, and I still enjoyed strolling around the park. The exterior of the buildings and the scenery were also highlights and perfect for taking photos. I felt that I need to research the visiting dates better for my next visit. I would recommend exploring other tourist spots in Calgary as well.

I had low expectations before visiting. I thought this place just had a whole bunch of old cars, but they had way more attractions than this. The tour guides that work on site did an excellent job. The old houses were fun to go into and walk around and see all the old artifacts. It was neat to see how things in the West have changed over time. I didn't take our kids but if we did I bet they would have had a really fun time. We went out on the paddle boat which was really fun. I would definitely go back to this place.

This place is huge- it could easily fill an entire day with everything from automobile collections, pioneer life, and coal mining as well as a really well done old-fashioned midway. I enjoyed the fact everything was included in the admission. We also ate at a really nice restaurant there- the food was perfect. And if you want to ride the train, a tractor pulled cart or horse pulled carriage you are in luck! Please like this review to help me justify my senseless hobby of writing them for every place I have ever visited ;)

Hadn't been here since I was a kid. Had an absolute blast as an adult. My work did a year end wrap up here and it was amazing! Complete with a scavenger hunt, prizes, and amazing I mean absolutely phenomenal food! I like how they keep their history up to date, add lots of interactive shows, and manage their displays really well. It's cool to see a bunch of Canadian history all in one place. I love that they share the history of every building. I will absolutely be returning soon!

The Gasoline Alley was fantastic. If you love cars you will be amazed at all the different types over the years. Loved the train and boat rides. The shops and employees took you back in time with their dressing and mannerisms. Great fun was had. Worth spending a whole day :) The candy store was a kids dream! Filled with all the sweets you can think of. Employees were so helpful and kind. There is a lot to see and do. So I would recommend going early to get the full experience.

Went for a weekend trip with my son for Thomas the Train day in the park. He had a great day with lots of activities for him to do. For the adults it was great to go into Gasoline Alley and see the different cars and pumps uses throughout the years. The houses along the way had a little information plate to read the history of the park. Overall a great day. Make sure to go to the bakery in the park. Amazing bread and pastries to try. Parking wasn't an issue.

Can't say enough good things about this place to be honest!! What an amazing way to spend an entire day. Please make sure you have ample time when you visit this place as there are just so many things to see. I went there about 1pm and hadn't explored half the park by 5pm. The train and buggy ride was really fun. The park is beautifully built with a lot of thought and attention to detail. I'm surely going to go back a second time to make sure I get to explore more of the park.

is a nice place for family, you can travel a stream train (free), and truck . All staff are wearing traditional dressing. Especially the police, he is a professional guy. The ticket includes a car museum also. inside have classic car and fuel machine. There is little playground for kids. You can spend 4 to 5 hours in this park. Coz there are big and lot of interesting things to see. I think the park can make some promotion for family to be perfect.

How can you not love heritage park. We get annual passes every year and love going for a day on the weekend. We can shoot pool, look at the vintage cars, have a cinnamon bun, cappuccino at the restaurant, or an ice cream. We always take the train and go for a paddle boat ride. Calgary's pride and joy and hats off to the volunteers who are eager to tell us about each exhibit and details about the time. 6 stars of I could rate it higher.

came here for a work event and we enjoyed the boat ride, train, little food shops like the bakery, candy store, and ice cream shop. you can even ride a ferris wheel, swinging chairs, and do other carnival games! there’s so many buildings and houses to explore, you need more than one visit to see everything. other than the places mentioned above, i think the main attractions would be gasoline alley! entry and parking would be expensive if we didn’t have this work event, so be aware of that

Lovingly and beautifully designed theme park that gives a good impression of the time 100 years ago. All employees were super nice and you can tell that they do this job with passion. We spent half a day here and had a lot of fun. For the children there is a small carnival and for adults many historical details. A visit is highly recommended. Paid parking on site but also a great connection with public transport.

Great place for family and kids. You get to see a glimpse of history and how life was in early 1900s. There are tractor rides, old style steam trains, horse carts, town Square, ferry in Glenmore reservoir, antique cars and so much more. Easily a full day affair. I suggest to reach early to make full use of it. You can also pack your food and other things in a folding wagon and do picnic here. There is ample seating space and lots of canopy covered space you can enjoy. 5/5 must visit for everyone.

  • Jaime Colwell

We visited heritage park as a family on a Saturday. We expected it to be quite busy but it wasn’t unreasonable. There were plenty of things to do including touring old houses, carnival rides, rides on a ferry, horse drawn carriage, tractor wagon, and train and structured activities. Such a fun way to step back in history and see what the early years of Canada would have been like.

The hours go fast in Christmas time. The kids really enjoyed it. I wish it had more options for a quick lunch when you are with children. One of the restaurants was booked for a private event, another one you can access only with a reservation. The rest are too small for winter time and can get very difficult to find a free spot. That being said, we had a great day!

Most of the park was closed by the time I arrived so I explored the lake and walked the trail to see if I could catch a good sunset which never came I drove 6.5 hours the day before so needed a more low key day. The next time I am in the area, I definitely want to check it out when it's open. It looks like a pretty cool spot. There was clear bottom kayaks out in the water from a tour company also.

  • Shelley Thiemann

Very expensive however it was absolutely worth it. From the train, boat and rides we had a great time. Everything is included in the price of the ticket. I used my wheelchair and the park is very accessible. They have a lift for the train which is fantastic and tie my chair down. A day of fun for the whole family.

I cannot recommend Heritage Park enough!! I'm a big fan of historic villages and this place checks every box for me. I brought my two nephews (4 and 2 years old) and they had the time of their life. Between riding the train, the amusement rides, and watching the live demonstrations, we were hooked on everything! Heavily considering getting a membership because this place is just awesome!

Heritage Park is a fun filled day for families and people of all ages. It is accessible to all individuals. There is a handi-bus available for anyone who needs it. There is so much to see and do! We've been there 3 times over the past number of years and will keep going! Parking is easy and the cost is reasonable. There is also free wifi! Highly recommend it!!!

  • Ghassan Al Zein

Amazing collection that you probably won’t see in other museums. All the cars, gas pumps and buildings are owned by one family. You can spend hours there and still have more to see and hear. The volunteers and employees are extremely knowledgeable and can really make you understand the value of each car. Get your membership as there are so many events to see.

  • Wilson Wong

We have a membership and it's totally worth it. We go any given weekend when it appears to be nice weather, like yesterday lol. It's nice to be able to just take a quick half-hour boat ride or a half-hour train ride. Not to mention all the shops. At some point you don't come for the history, you come because it's an extension of the city that you can enjoy.

  • Chris

The Alberta Day (on 2/9/2023) celebration was held here! There was a drone show on 9pm. And throughout the day there’re a lot of booths such as live music show, kid corners, food trucks for you to enjoy. Besides, it’s a good opportunity for me to enter the heritage park for free! Normally there is a fee $30-40 for each entry.

The park is an awesome idea, combining nice strolls in the open air, with historical exhibits, preserved or restored. Their summer and xmas markets are less busy than others around the city and its cool to hunt down all the locations

We needed to kill 5 hours before our flight. This was a great way to do it. Impressed that once you've paid for entrance everything including a train and boat ride is included when you go in.
