"Do not recommend this place at all!!! If I could give 0 stars I would Staff are so unprofessional and rude!!! Well Where do I stay I recently Registered at this practice first time since registered I had a appointment with doctor Nomani let me tell you now she will talk over you every minute she gets she won’t let you discuss any problems you have and will give any medication so they can get rid of you as fast as they can she thinks she above everyone else when she’s not! She then went on to say i am lying about my medical problems which has been on going for years…and It’s probably mental health problem then proceeds to say I will give you medication for your mental health problem which I don’t have and never had how ridiculous can you be to say someone is lying about there medical problems and try to make up ur Own opinion up when I have proof of my medical problems!!! She then proceeded to shout at me in my appointment because I told her it’s not mental health problems and don’t need tablets as I never had mental health and she then walks out room and reports me to the manager Aneesa playing victim but what can I say they all work together not like you will be listened to anyways in this horrible place absolutely disgusting service if you are willing to let doctors not listen to your medical problems then by all means register but I am warning you know doctors are unprofessional and make there own choices on behalf of you rather then listen to what’s wrong with you and will throw any medication they can so you will be out of there sight fast"

The best GP services I have ever received. The experience of others does not reflect mine. I had to wait to see the Doctor a bit longer than I wanted to because she was busy once but at all other times, I was tended to with care. And in good time. I think the others here complaining have too high expectations, have been unlucky or voted conservative and expect an underfunded NHS in crisis to provide them with high standards of medical care. When the real aim of the corrupt politicians in charge at the moment is to destroy the NHS by underfunding it and privatization by stealth, you need to look to why that is happening and what those people doing it gain financially by doing so. The fact is that our national insurance has been given away to friends, party donors and criminals by the current government and it is impossible to properly run a national health service without proper funding. Please be mindful of this before you slate this medical practice. I have found them to be doing the very best that they can with the limited resources that have been made available to them.
The practice has gone down significantly since Dr obrien retired. It’s impossible to get an appointment and it even worse for the elderly trying to get appointment. The practice manager is rude and racist and the receptionist are very rude. It’s very very stressful trying to interact with the surgery, they don’t care about there patients it more of a financial business now. I’m really sad to be giving this review as my family have with surgery for over 40 year. They definitely failing in their duty to care for people with mental health concerns and they need to be inspected and patients need to be able to share their experiences.
Unfortunately, the administration of this surgery is appalling. The system is set up so you have to call at 8am but the receptionists clearly don’t man the phones or leave it off the hook as we called at 8:00 on the dot and have been caller number 4 for 16 minutes. This has happened multiple times and needs to be addressed. Also promised call backs don’t take place - patients have to chase and then sit in the same ineffective queue just to get a response they were promised!!! Get a better system and man the phones appropriately!! People calling their GP don’t need additional frustration or stress - hardly trauma informed!!!!
Awful reception service and operation system. Extremely difficult to book an appointment. While Totally useless during first lockdown, but they introduced more booking restrictions after lockdown such as narrow booking options. Also a bit clueless on NHS processes and not willing to help (it took 5 phone calls just for them to send an email or make a phonecall, unnecessary delays, low on empathy, wrong attitude for health services). Doctors are ok, but that's irrelevant if you cannot see them. Avoid if you can or go straight to 111 or A&E. Extremely disappointed.
The most unhelpful and miserable gp service. It takes at least 1hour to get through someone at 8am to book a gp appointment. When you do manage to get an appointment, everyone is miserable and not bothered to help you whatsoever. Doctors not even interested in what you have to say and cant ever help with anything because they are “just a gp” so their trick is to just refer you to specialist doctors which takes forever to get an appointment. You literally only have 10mn to talk to them because they will literally kick you out as they “dont have time” for you.
Have to fight for a possible connection from 8am onwards, this could take up to 30 - 45 minutes, if your lucky to of won the lottery, you will be one of the lucky 10 people, you'll then need to wait on hold listening to awful music and a voice every so often telling your your position in the que, this will then take anywhere from another 30 minutes to an hour. So if you have anything you need to do......dont, gonna be late for work? Tough, it's either this.....or die. They don't care.
Everytime to book an appointment must call at 8am but everytime call after 8am, the operator ask to call back again and again due to long waiting queue and can't answer the call right now! I believe I am not the first one facing the same problem. After calling for almost 1hr and managed to speak to the customer service, she said if appointment for tomorrow, must call at 8am tomorrow!!! Just 10am in the morning, they can't pre-book for next day appointment! Really disappointed.
The worst GP service I ever encountered in the UK in 5 years, 7 different cities!! I called them yesterday for the appointment they told me to ring them back the next day 8am. I've been calling 15 times from this morning, it's almost 9 and nobody is picking up the phone! Incompetent receptionists need to get fired and replaced by someon who will do the job properly, I can see lots of people are having the same issues and complaining on here but it's still not being addressed?
Misdiagnosed mumps with tonsillitis, incompetent Dr's and nurses, lose results Took 8 months to correctly register newborn baby, failed to refer my son to hospital when I was told he was. Do not send information when they say they will, cannot ever give updates, And that's just the past year but trust me there's more. Cannot get an appointment poor organisation, lack of urgency reception staff u bothered and do not know procedures. Needs shutting down urgently!!!
With all my respect to the NHS stuff and the great work are doing. The Hockley medical practice service are getting from Bad to Worse service, the receptionist simply won’t answer your calls even if you go there and try to get an appointment in person-simply not happening. The doctor will not even check your health history file and keep asking the same question over and over. Knowing that immune suppressed and severe pain…All in all, poor quality service.
I had wanted to book an appointment to see a doctor for my blood test result also to get advised on my medication but was told to call at 8am every morning to check with the doctor's availability. What if the doctor is available and I am not for that certain time? Otherwise, they don't accept pre-booking which is so understandably convenient for the patient. I am so fed up with the way how the new system operates and considering changing the surgery.
If you're looking for a convenient, reliable doctor's surgery, then give Hockley Medical Practice a wide berth. The reception team seem to actively ignore the phones, appointments take between 45-60 minutes to book, and when I came in to get a prescription I was told there was no doctor in the practice to issue me my medicine and that they'd call me back. They never did. If I wasn't sick before I registered with this surgery, I sure am now.
Takes over an hour to get through to the receptionist and then you have to wait for the doctors to call you back (which is understandable). Finally got a face to face appointment after how many weeks. Appointment is for 11am, I'm still waiting to see the doctor at 11.30am. Spoke to the receptionist and he says the doctor is running 'a little' late and the doctor has 2 more people to see before it's my turn. Dr O'Brien you are missed !!!
As a kidney transplant patient I need repeat prescriptions. It has been nothing but a complete nightmare having to call and wait on hold every few weeks and chase over and over every time I need a new prescription which should be on repeat. It's becoming extremely stressful, as sometimes I'm close to running out of medication and can't get a new prescription which will have immediate dire consequences for me.
Shocking service. Used them twice in the past few days, or rather attempted to get service, but on both occassions failed miserably. Dr fail to call me for an agreed telephone appointment, and did not know how to do a referral letter. When my partner had stiches at A&E and told to call GP to remove the stitches, this practice tells us they dont do that and to call 111. We need to move practice.
***DO NOT REGISTER HERE*** This awful GP service has no email, no online services, shuts the phones off early every morning so it's impossible to get appointments, and the receptionists/staff have a general negligence and lack of respect and care for their patients. I'm sat with an allergic reaction to food, desperately in need of advice and prescription, and can't get through to anyone.
Been registered with this practice for 5 years. I do not understand how they are allowed to provide such poor inefficient service. Who is responsible for this? You can spend hours on the phone before anyone answers. You wait for a whole day for a doctor to call back, only to tell you to call the surgery back and request a form! Another hour wait on the phone!!
Took ages to get through to reception, then told had a telephone appointment but failed to call me for the appointment! Rubbish service. Also registered at the same time as my husband, registered myself but not my husband. Instead they lost all of his information including copies of ID. Terrible breach of confidentiality wherever they ended up!
the worst GP centre. The receptionist takes over an hour to answer a call, then says there are no appointments available today and to call tomorrow. After 2 days of calling, the GP gave me a cream for Egzoma that made my Eczema worse. I called again and said there was no appointment and I should call tomorrow. this is really disgusting.
Worst practice I’ve ever been assigned to. Never ever able to get an appointment even when ringing at 8am every morning. Never the same GP, only ever Locum doctors so you’ll never see a ‘family doctor’ who knows about your medical history. Poor level of service, I would rather pay for a private GP appointment these days.
This is my GP for years but honestly the way it's managed now... it's really HORRIBLE!!!! People has to call earlier in the morning when NO ONE IS IN THERE! And then wait for a doctors call..all day and nothing! If this is some kind of call centre now...just change the name! YOU GUYS ARE RIDICULOUS!!!!
I’m not sure if the receptionist that was working on August 1st 2023 dislikes her job or not but miss ma’am that has nothing to do with me. If you don’t like your job leave, no one if forcing you to work there. The broad literally hung up on me after asking her a question and before that was very rude.
The hold times to get through to this surgery are ridiculous, I dont think I've ever waited less than 45 minutes to get through. I can only imagine that this deters people from calling or end up handing up whilst on hold. This is peoples health and not acceptable, do better!
The booking team was helpful, the doctor was thorough, the nurse's blood taking skill was outstanding. It was a little challenging to get on the booking queue on the phone but it was understandable considering the demand. I felt that I was well looked after. Thank you.
In the past I have had lack lustre service from this practice however Dr Naeem has restored my faith. Following a recent issue with my spine he fully guided me through the MRI results, the medication and any recommended follow up. He is a credit to the practice.
Worst GP I have ever seen, it’s been few days I’m calling them for an appointment , each time I call, they keep on saying call tomorrow, then the next day. Now it’s like the situation that they will make us call 111. Hope all will understand what I am saying.
New Patient Registration experience was good. Gave the required details, I was said 10 working days but I got registered earlier. As well did the initial blood test n it was good as well
They cannot look after their patients. I've been waiting 2 months for a referral for the fracture clinic, still haven't got one. Useless and unorganized.
disgraceful - cannot ever get an appointment - probably too busy doing tik-tok dances.
