Disappointed. More concerned with upselling then fixing the problem I requested. Called to get bathroom switches repaired and aluminum wiring mitigated at that specific location. They did send a technician out very quickly to do the work. However, once they got my phone number and email, I was bombarded with sales and promotional emails and texts which I do not like. The Technician did come (along with more emails and texts concerning both his arrival time and more sales and promotional info which I really did not want). I showed the Technician what I needed and after some thought he stated, "Yes, I can fix that for you." Seeing the aluminum wiring, he started to going all over the house checking our breaker panel, meter panel, etc. I finally realized that he was trying to upsell us on all kinds of new equipment and work. I told him that I know all about aluminum wiring, its hazards, etc. since I have owned the house for 20 years, but all I want him to do is fix the switches. "OK, ok, just 5 more minutes" while he kept typing away at his tablet. 10 minutes later I get several quotes for mitigating all of the aluminum wiring in the and also an invoice for repairing the original switches. Paid half with credit card and then he stated that he did not have time to do the work but would be back in about a week or so. Frustrated with what just happened I agreed. Later, upset over what transpired, I wrote to the company expressing my frustration. Someone in management did call me back and they got the Technician back out to do the job. This was about a week after the original call. Also, not impressed with the final results. For any future work I will be calling someone else.

If I could give a negative star I would! My AC unit stopped working and I called this so-called company to send a repair person out. They gave me a window of 2-6, after multiple attempts to find out what time they would be coming they finally showed up at around 7PM. The so-called techs spent about 15 minutes inspecting the system then came into my home and proceeded to tell me that it may be a shot compressor, or it may not be. the overall work on the compressor with p&L would be around $7500, then proceeded to tell me that I should really consider a new unit and left quotes for 12k and 17K and to follow up with him the next day. Highly suspicious, I called another company my neighbor recommended, and he came out the next day, I explained what this so-called company said, and he said would check it out. 10 minutes later he fixed the issue and cold air was flowing through my system. The company that fixed the unit said that it was a simple sensor that needed to be reset and that the system in the unit pretty much told him what the problem was, the compressor and the overall unit were fine and that any repair person could see this. This is the second time this so-called company has tried to push a new unit and total replacement on me for a ridiculous amount of $$. They are highly unethical and when they show up in a certain zip code try to take advantage of people and their knowledge of electronics, buy beware of these people. A complaint to the BBB will be followed to this post!

I only really write reviews when service is exceptionally good or exceptionally bad. I'm happy to report, the service received from Hoffman and specifically, their technician, Jason Williams, was phenomenal. I had an EV charger installed and also had some extensive troubleshooting done on some smart switches. I'll step through the various things that prompted me to write this review: Price: I had a competitive bid done and Hoffman was considerably less expensive than their competition. I won't mention the other company, but their quote was insultingly high. Hoffman provided a reasonable and fair quote. Quality of Service: The job was completed successfully, the installs look great and the area was cleaned better than it was when they started. Professionalism: The troubleshooting ended up taking way longer than anticipated. I won't say exactly how long, but Jason and his apprentice, Diego, were at my house for an entire day and then some. Despite the frustrating troubleshooting, Jason remained positive, friendly and professional. He insisted that they would finish the job successfully, and they did. I will definitely go back to Hoffman if I have any electrical needs in the future and would encourage others to give them a shot as well.

They installed a new ac unit in June of 2022. During the install some duct tape must have been worked loose and we started having a whistling noise a few weeks later. At the start of winter we turned the heat on and got nothing but cold air. Some wiring was hooked up wrong during the install. In December they came and did a 6 month inspection. The guy sucked out the drain. Less than two months later the drain clogged which we realized when we started getting stains on the downstairs celing. It was winter. We had hardly used the unit. In July of this year they came and did the next 6 month inspection. Three weeks later the unit wasn't cooling. The coils were leaking. The unit is under warranty. They had to order new coils. They installed them but we had to pay over $1000 for coolant. Also paid labor since the warranty period was over by a little more than one month. It was almost 5 days without ac. Five days later the compressor started making a loud noise. It lasted about 5 minutes and stopped, but the unit was no longer cooling. We shut it down. This is 8/8/23. I will update this review on the 9th after they come to fix whatever the problem is this time.

I called on a Sunday morning after discovering that my AC unit had broken and flooded part of my home. The woman I spoke to on the phone was very understanding and kind. They sent out a tech same day who evaluated the unit and recommended a replacement. He also waived the emergency call fee and helped me find the best deal that worked within our budget. We were able to get financing setup the same day and the installation scheduled for the very next day. Josh and the entire crew that came out for the installation were fantastic. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. They were professional, kind and extremely thorough. They explained everything to me as they did it and walked me through how to use the new unit. I work from home and they were respectful of that, giving me a heads up when they knew a portion would be noiser so I could make adjustments to my work day. They cleaned up everything after they were done and answered all of my questions. By far my best experience with any home improvement company. I would highly recommend them!

Our air conditioner started giving off 'sparks' at 2:30am this morning so we had to turn it off from the circuit breaker, we were so afraid we would not be able to find someone to fix it on the weekend and especially with it being this hot, we knew everyone would be busy, we were also afraid it would be something that would take a long time or even have to replace the whole unit. We were also afraid since it was sparking that it would involve an electrician and HVAC and finding both on a weekend would not be easy and could be expensive. We call Hoffman and they sent someone out by Noon, he couldn't fix the issue so called someone else on his team and Rob came over and fixed it within an hour, did a thorough inspection of the outdoor and inside unit and answered all of our questions. I am so grateful for this place, they knew exactly what the issue was and it was an easy fix - thank goodness! Being without an air conditioner in this heat is not joke! Thank you Rob and Hoffman!

Ray and Alberto are a good team. They met all of our needs, including some necessary service for cleaning and repair that we were not aware of. We are hoping the air we breathe will be a better quality for our health. We also had a surge box installed that will help protect our outside unit from damage should there be a strike. So far, all is good with our working relationship with Hoffman Electric and AC. We look forward with confidence to more information about AC and electronics from Hoffman, and a continuing maintenance program for our home. After Ray and Alberto finished their work Bryce and Krystian followed to do the hard work of cleaning the system and installation of a UV light to combat mold from growing. They did a supreme job. And they were professional in all the ways that count - prompt, efficient, virtuous and willing to inform us of the details of their work. Very impressed with the overall service of this companny.

I was having issues with my A/C, it wasn’t cooling. Not a good thing with the summer we have been having! Hoffman was able to send someone out the same day after I rescheduled my appointment, realizing I couldn’t wait until the following day. The Technician’s name was Rob, who was fantastic! Not only was he extremely knowledgeable and competent, but he was patient with my questions and able to explain things in a manner I could easily understand. As it turns out, the condensation line was clogged, causing the system to shut off. Rob took his time and made sure the problem was completely rectified and my A/C was cooling like a brand new one. Going forward, I will make sure Hoffman is servicing my system every 6 months, which will help me get the most out of my A/C. Kudos to Rob, a fellow Vet, who represented his company extremely well, and made me laugh with his great sense of humor during the process.

Osmany came out to do an estimate for four different small electrical jobs in my home. He sent me an estimate in a timely manner. Scheduling was a breeze. I received a reminder text and email regarding our appointment time and then an alert when Osmany was on his way to my house. He showed up a few minutes early, we went over all the details of each job again, and he and his assistant Cody got right to work. They had to troubleshoot a couple of small things, but they always had a good solution and communicated clearly with me. The quality of their work was very good. I appreciate the timeliness, clear communication, and that they cleaned up after themselves. I would highly recommend!!

I contacted Hoffman after seeing them around..was not disappointed. Submitted my information online to their website and was contacted shortly thereafter (on a weekend) and was able to set an appointment for the next week based on my schedule. Received an email confirmation as well as a text confirmation. On the day of my scheduled service, I received a text message of who my tech was and a way to track them (which was cool). My tech Jason arrived and was very professional and greeted me by my first name. Jason went straight to work and was professional the whole time and was able to resolve my issue and cleaned up prior to his departure. I would recommend this company.

Nick was our technician and he was such a joy to work with. He explained everything that needed to be done. He did the complete service within an hour and a half. Nick is very personable and easy to talk to. His work ethic is awesome! He only had to make 3 holes in our wall to make the wire installation. He is very knowledgeable in electricity. We are in need of some more electrical wiring to be done and we will definitely request Nick to be the service technician for our next job in the very near future. Have hired many electricians over all my years and Hoffman is the best. They installed a whole house generator for us. Other companies we got quotes from were way over priced and said it could take months. Hoffman did it in about 2 weeks but that’s only because of the delay from the gas line installers. Johnny (who did the installation) and Hoffman were there for us every step of the way making this very easy on us. Have already recommended them to family and would highly recommend them to anyone reading this. This is a very good company with reasonable prices and honest people working for it.

I've been in real estate for 29 years, owned many investment properties, and dealt with countless contractors. I called Hoffman to replace some broken light fixtures and quote me on additional work I needed done on my home. Rolando was extremely knowledgeable and helped me find a better solution than the new fixtures I'd already bought which didn't fit. He also ran new wiring out to the front of my garage and installed some coachman lights for light the driveway. He was very professional and did a first rate job on all items. I would highly recommend Hoffman for residential or commercial work.

We were in desperate need of getting our AC ducts cleaned. We did our research with other companies and were afraid that their technique would cost us much more in repair/replacement cost. Hoffman explained their process didn’t use those techniques and also used a non-toxic sanitizer so we didn’t have to vacate while being serviced. Justin and Charles were very professional, thorough, and efficient. Our whole house was done in 4 hours and already can tell the difference! Hoffman Electrical and AC is our “go to” company for all our electrical and HVAC needs!

Jason was technician that came to our home to complete service upgrade/install lockout for our generator. He and his helper were very professional did very good work installing our new electric panel. Afterwards he explained how the new lockout switch works and what I have to do in case we are without power and have to refer to generator to power up our house. They both very clean and did great job cleaning up after job was completed. I will use Hoffman electric in future if needed. I would consider Jason and his helper an asset to any company.

After recently moving into my new home, I knew I needed some electrical assistance. James was my technician and helper Bryce was beyond professional in all aspects. I received notification when on the way, given detail information regarding work and best price for the service. I had several items installed to enhance my overall security comfort. This is my third experience with Hoffman and again, nothing but the best. The communication, level of professionalism, project management, job photos and even technician tracking make working with Hoffman a no-brainer. As previously working for a large electrical contractor in the past, beyond my expectations. Great job on my boat lift, HVAC system and general electrical when buying a new condo. Second experience with Hoffman Electrical. Just amazing. I’m fairly critical of tradesmen in the Tampa area having had 20+ years of almost nothing but bad experiences. Hoffman is a singular exception. They are on time and professional. Cost is well inside of budget. They take pride in their workmanship, and all work is performed in a timely manner. We have several large scale projects planned over the next several years and will never use anyone other than Hoffman.

Jeremiah and Charles were very professional. They checked and cleaned my condenser, cleaned the drain lines and checked the air handler. They were very thorough and kind. I had a wonderful experience and would be pleased to have them return. I definitely recommend Hoffman AC and Electrical. The employees do a fabulous job whether it is AC or electrical. I felt the service was pricey and like many companies now a days there is always some sort of membership you can buy into. I’m sure there would be less expensive options to choose from but I will say, Hoffman Electric & Air has been very responsive and should you think you may need future service on your unit, this extra payment for membership is not a costly option. Overall, so far so good. Of course, my A/C was literally just serviced. Time will tell.

Outstanding service! In 24hrs my ceiling fan was up and running. The tech the company sent was very friendly and courteous. I used Hoffman to install a transfer switch to allow me to run my home using a portable generator if needed. Eric N was extremely knowledgeable and I felt he went above and beyond to ensure that I fully understood the procedures in the event that I had to use my generator. Eric did a great job troubleshooting the power issue. Before he left all lights were working in bathroom, hallways and porch. We're about to have a lot of electrical work performed at our home and I although they just initially came out to give us estimates for all the work I feel very comfortable and confident that we lucked out with the first one out and they'll definitely be doing the work. Chris Porcillo was efficient and professional. It was late in the day and he got everything done that he could. We were disappointed with the news that it was time to replace our 10 year old HVAC unit. Hoffman's proposal system maybe needs some work to make it more customer friendly, but it did get us a proposal and now we have to bite a bullet.

Had an Appointment which took 3weeks no problem..They call me to change it to 3 days later no problem! But then I wait and call and said oh it's 3 weeks later.. I was like you never said 3 weeks. They have these discounts for A/C but APPARENTLY YOUR NOT Priority...Very bad seems like it's a promo they will never do or have to wait over a month

Dave actually came early after verifying it was ok. He was very thorough in checking my HVAC to determine the cause of the issue. I asked quite a few questions and he was very patient in answering them. I was shown how to prevent the issue in the future. He was very professional and I would use Dave and Hoffman Electrical & A/C again.

Called Hoffman Saturday morning and they were here within 90 minutes. Eric did an outstanding job diagnosing and fixing the problem. He also advised against a more expensive service (replacement of a fan) because he was able to fix the problem more simply. He was professional, knowledgeable and quick. Great service!

Cody Suggs and the rest of the Hoffman Team did a wonderful job troubleshooting and fixing some issues a previous electrician did; along with installing new ceiling recessed lights. They never complained or left a mess either. Definitely a company we will be calling and recommending for many years to come.

Very happy, Rob and Christian did a great job. I guess the valve was stuck in the outside unit so they gave me 2 options, try and use a repair lube to free it up, 50/ 50 chance or just replace it. I chose to replace 100/100 , it was more but within 2 hrs my house is cooling and I havexa warranty. Ty

Mike was very professional and knowledgeable with my electrical upgrade on my breaker box. He helped me install my new emergency generator and now has my 3850 sq ft home with three large heat pumps fully operational on a single 15000 w generator. Hoffman and Mike have exceeded my expectations.

Had an ongoing power loss in the front of my home. Brad was able to determine that it was a combined issue with TECO and ground wires. TECO did their job and then Brad was able to fix the ground wire problem. Hoffman was super friendly and corrected my problem quickly. Highly recommend them!!

Brad was professional and helpful, great experience. Prior Hector was also very professional and it was a fantastic experience. They helped install new lines for and hooked the electrical to a tankless water heater. Also a 3way switch was placed to control lights from inside the garage.
