Probably one of the most genuinely unsettling cemeteries I have been to in my life. This place has a very peaceful but also very eerie air about it. It's right in the middle of Hollywood behind Paramount and yet it really seems from the moment you step foot in here that time really does stop. I went into this place not knowing much about the history so I wouldn't unconsciously create an experience, so I can genuinely say that it did spook me - you WILL see/hear things and you WILL pick up on this weird vibe that encapsulates the grounds and it's really hard to brush it off as "oh, you're just in a graveyard". Walking through the various mausoleums is quite the experience as well as they're cold, extremely quiet (everyone is outside walking around in the sun), and just strange. I cannot really explain it and I think for some people this might go over their heads but there's just a general vibe in them that's like walking through a dream. There are a lot of Russians and Armenians buried here as well which no one ever mentions despite there being a significant population in LA. I took one star off because getting into the cemetery can be a pain in the butt due to the heavy traffic/narrow streets/bad GPS directions. Also on the weekends there are a bunch of goobers from out of state and mall-goths with their phones out taking pictures, standing on graves (why...), and being loud so it kind of ruins the mood. I plan on going back during the week when it is a lot quieter.

This has to be the worst customer service ever encountered!! I spoke to a lady who tried to help but then a man got on the phone (said his name was Tyler co owner and president) and told me that he was about to let in over 4000 people to a large event and he stopped to talk to me like He is doing me a favor then proceeded to yell and scold me as if I were a child then as I explained my issue in detail he just hung up on me. Of course it being 5:06pm already the phones don't get answered. Working in the customer service field for almost 20 years I have never ever been treated like trash before especially while trying to help them out! He should not be allowed to have any encounters with other. people either privately or the public. He was rude, condescending, and disrespectful. If this guy can't handle the stress of large events and simple tasks and phone calls especially for requests they made, then he's in the wrong business! No one is making him work there against his will yet he is acting like a an entitled shuck being forced by mommy and daddy to work for a living. Seriously, get over yourself bro! Look at the business you're in... it's not that serious. Your clients clearly aren't going anywhere anytime soon!

From beginning to end, my experience with Hollywood Forever and my liaison Noelle Berman was everything I wanted and more. I contacted Noelle Berman when my wife's cancer diagnosis had gone from bad to worse. I had a lot of questions, and Berman handled them with professionalism and compassion. I had some unconventional requests with regard to embalming (no) and cremation (witnessed), and Berman helped to honor every one of them, even in the time of COVID-19. She clearly explained what we could and could not do under the circumstances. After my wife's death, Noelle worked with the funeral director and the cemetery's owner to make sure we created a fitting ceremony. The funeral director, Chanell O'Farrill, took the time to understand the ceremony that we wanted, identify some important choices that I had not thought of, and made the whole day seamless. With the help of the gardeners and the owner, we managed to create a unique experience that was a fitting tribute to my beloved wife. I can't thank them enough.

We selected Hollywood Forever because it is a place that always brought our family joy. We love the idea of family and friends visiting us in a setting so filled with life. We have wonderful memories of yearly visits to Dia de Los Muertos and the Johnny Ramone Tribute together as a family. Our daughter died unexpectedly last year, and we have learned firsthand how much comfort Hollywood Forever provides for the loved ones left behind. Adela and her team lovingly and respectfully guided us through the arrangements and the service. Our daughter’s grave gives us comfort and the ability to honor her memory. We are so grateful for the freedom we have to personalize her grave and the opportunity to comfortably spend time there. Knowing that her friends gather there sharing memories is incredibly special. On each visit, we make time to visit with the abundant wildlife at the lake and sometimes they even visit us at the grave.

They wouldn’t let us see my grandmother for the last time before they buried her the lady was grossed out and refused to open the casket it was confusing I thought they dealt with dead bodies all the time. Plus we payed $40,000 and the guy who sold us the package is trying to overcharge for a job he has nothing to do with. My mom went and spoke with the gentleman doing the work on my grandmothers tombstone and he told her the real price but the Russian guy that works there argues no that it’s more. It’s not the gentleman who did the actual work was paid personally . I don’t know why they let that guy work there they rushed our funeral services and don’t keep up the maintenance they let my grandmothers tombstone over grow .I’m thinking of making a complaint to the funeral board my friend works at another funeral home and is finding out exactly who to contact to complain

I had the difficult decision of deciding where to lay my beautiful 18 yr old daughter to rest. It is obviously something I never dreamt of discussing with her. I have never been fond of cemeteries as they always felt so sad to me. My daughter was such an amazing person and was environmentally conscious. I heard about memorial Forests where you could be laid to rest and grow as a tree. I knew immediately that is what my daughter would want. What I wasn’t expecting was how gorgeous the grounds at Hollywood Forever are. It felt like a secret garden within a busy city, and the energy was so positive, peaceful and full of love. Adela helped me every step of the way, being so kind and always quick to respond to me. The day of the ceremony was perfect and the funeral director and all involved were so helpful and kind. This is truly a magical place!

What an amazing resting place! There's so much beauty there and I know all the cemetery residents love all the people traffic. This is absolutely what I love about LA! We traveled around to visit some of the stars and did get to see so many favorites, like Don Adams, Mel Blanc, Douglas Fairbanks, Hattie Mc Daniel, and Mickey Rooney, and the list goes on and on. And, as many that live close by were jogging, power walking, and strolling through the graves; that huge iconic Hollywood sign in the distance just added to the finishing touches. What an enjoyable day! We haven't taken the tour yet, or ventured back up for the movie night, but, we will. They've got beautiful peacocks that they let roam the graveyard at night. Only in LA. :) It's the most captivating experience and it's a must if your in Santa Monica.

Supported a great charity event (Simply Divine) for the LA LGBT Center, while eating delicious food from some of the best chefs in Los Angeles, last night. The event was in the middle of the Forever Hollywood Cemetery but it felt like I had escaped to some magical place with friendly people, and fantastic champagne. There were vegetarian, and vegan options at many of the tables, and plenty of meat options for those who eat it. There was a fun band playing. There were several wine options in the VIP section, which also included its own private bar, and seating area. Eating delicious food under the stars, with beautiful music playing in the background made for a really enjoyable night, and it was for a truly amazing cause. We will be back next year, and the year after, and the year after, and the year after...

Fantastic destination for tourists to see some Hollywood history and even better for locals to hang out and catch one of the many events held here. It is a nice walk with plenty to look at besides the uniquely creative gravesites and tombs and headstones. This cemetery has no restrictions when it comes to decorating your plot-so there are quite a few... conversation starters, shall we say. The park is well-maintained, both by staff and the families who care for their loved ones' place of eternal rest. The whole experience is breathtaking from entrance to exit. Make sure to look out as you leave the grounds and you can see the Hollywood sign ahead of you. I have plans to catch a movie here, and I simply must find the concrete couch surrounded by weenie dogs for a fabulous picture

Dinora is very combative with clients over the phone. She said she doesn’t speak any English in present managerial position, but she wants me to speak to her in Spanish because my name is a Spanish name and my mom used to do business there in Spanish. Rude! She works in a cemetery setting were we have LOST family members that we LOVED dearly! NO sympathy NO personal connection NO sorry you Lost your MOTHER. Nothing!!!! Will never do any type of business @hollywoodforevercemetery and I will also let family and friends know NOT to do business @Hollywoodforevercemetery, specially with Dinora! She’s Lucky I don’t have time to post all this in the social media universe

So, all bathrooms are locked EXCEPT for hidden bathrooms at the front you must enter a maze to find. What's more, there's an event today so a lot of what we wanted to see is blocked, something I did not see mentioned ANYWHERE on their website NOR the gmaps. If it's on there, it's not big enough. So yeah, it's pretty but having to pee the whole time with no bathrooms and the worst signage imaginable + no mention of closed areas anywhere accurately posted means I was super disappointed. This is something I could've done a few days ago, before they were setting this up, or at least I'd know.

Our family's first Dia de Los muertos parade since moving to Los Angeles! Hopefully the first of many more! Such a wonderful day celebrating culture and community! The festivities begin as early as 12 with multiple stages featuring traditional dancing and music. There is a free photo set supplied by the cemetery as well as a costume party featuring some of the best day of the dead costumes and make up sponsored by local production teams. Food and drinks are prohibited at entry but vendors inside have an assortment of dishes for you to choose from. Fun for the whole family and a tradition to be enjoyed by all those who are fortunate enough to find parking!

  • Ron Tom

Very beautiful cemetery. And the experience is definitely worth the visit. The people who gave less than 3 stars obviously have no appreciation for Hollywood legends or immortalizing their final finishes nor have they done any research prior to their visit on celebrity grave location. I understand if they had a personal issue with a staff member or their own lack or direction during their visit but its definitely a place locals or LA visitors need to check out. I had no trouble finding celebrities and I loved how many graves had intricate and custom designs. Worth many visits!

Thank you Counselor Norma for helping our family and friends lay our loved one to rest. Davey Bales is at rest, we thank you so much for the plans, beautiful location and working hard with us to make all this possible. Was a beautiful funeral. You calmed our nerves, showed us great information and was super helpful. Thank you so much for all your hard work. We could not have done this without you. From The Wraith band and myself Tiffany Retrozombie, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for such wonderful services and memories you provided everyone. Thank you once again.

Hollywood Forever Cemetery is the final resting place to many of Hollywood 's Celebrities. The grounds are well maintained, and filled with Hollywood History. The Masonic Lodge holds many cultural events throughout the year, and film screenings on the Fairbanks lawn. Great views of the Hollywood Sign are present from most angles. A map of the Cemetery is Available for purchase at the shop for 5.00$. Notable Celebrities include, Judy Garland, Douglas Fairbanks and Douglas Fairbanks Jr, Mickey Rooney, Hattie McDaniel, Norma, Natalie and Constance Talmadge, and many more.

  • Jeffery Brooks

We came here because I believe one of The Walking Dead seasons finales Talking Dead after shows was filmed here. We were in California for the Halloween 45 Years of Terror Convention and came here on our last day of the trip. Very cool place. Free to enter and you can park in the cemetery. They have a public bathroom and maybe even some merch and food. Unsure about those last two. If you're interested in cemeteries, this place is worth checking out.

Expected a few more golden era hollywood graves. But, there were a few surprises that made it worth it. Had no desire to go here, the wife wanted to, and I was experiencing what I thought I would, ambivalence. Then I walked up on a fairly modest grave and realized it was Chris Cornell. After that the Ramone statue was cool. Anton Yelchin was another surprise. Mel Blanc was also interesting as I loved his voices for WB cartoons as a child. If you like this kind of thing you'll probably dig it but keep your expectations realistic.

  • Jordan Kelly

My girlfriend and I came to Hollywood Forever on my birthday, so that I could visit Chris Cornell's grave in the "Garden of Legends". The grounds turned out to be very easy to navigate, but they do have maps inside the gift shop if you need one. What we ended up finding out is how truly beautiful and magnificent this cemetery actually is. Tucked away inside this giant city is one of the most gorgeous and peaceful places you'd never expect to find. Very good place for just spending some time outdoors and enjoying the weather.

Losing a loved one is never easy, but I am thankful to Hollywood Forever for their time and service. We had a small issue and they went above and beyond to make my grandmas final resting place beautiful. I personally want to thank the CFO ( I believe his name is Yogu) for personally looking into the matter and to Adela Marquez our Family Service Counselor for going above and beyond for my grandma.

I have never heard of this cemetery but SO glad we stopped in! I normally do not gush about peaceful locations such as cemeteries but this one is incredibly unique and beautiful. The grounds are gorgeous, and it made for a nice walk and experience. There were lots of celebrities buried here but what was more incredible were the outstanding memorial/gravestones for so many. The craftsmanship along with the $ that folks invest in their departed loved ones is off the charts.

  • Gary “Glo” Michaelson

I'm a bit biased, because I used to be in the glower shop, back when it was still owned by Jules Roth, and run by his "girlfriend" Miss Parker, she was in her 80's! I did the flowers for funerals, and the graves. I used to be able to go into the records as a matter of course. I learned a lot. I miss my cemetery. It's a fabulous place to spend eternity. I wanted the Cupid & Psyche statue. ;) Please take care of "my" cemetery.

  • Rosario S. Cassata (Batman)

The Hollywood Forever Cemetery is much do when in Hollywood. It is the resting place to many of Hollywood 's Celebrities including Judy Garland and Jonny Ramone. As you walk around you see that the cemetery is filled with so much history and grounds are well maintained,. The sites are just beautiful. There any many events movies during the year on the Fairbanks lawn.

Really love this beautiful cemetery. They take great care of it. Security at the front was super helpful & kind when we asked questions. It’s free to walk the grounds, but they do charge for a tour. The only thing I didn’t care to witness were the workers who drive around on the grounds, driving right over the flat headstones. This seemed super disrespectful to me as they could easily navigate around them.

  • Tom Sanches

Beautiful cemetery! I saw people doing picnics, reading books, taking pics, etc. It's a cemetery but with a park vibes. There are nature and many different animals living free in the place and it's really nice to walk through or just chill in the lawn in front of the beautiful lake ;) i heard they display movies in certain dates. I'm looking forward to watch a movie with my friends in this place!

Nestled in the heart of Los Angeles, Hollywood Forever Cemetery is a unique destination that seamlessly blends tranquility, rich history, haunting tales, and vibrant summer events. A nice shady place to take a quiet walk and escape the busy city streets while taking in the scenery. You can drive through or walk through and be on the lookout for Peacocks, they are everywhere and so beautiful.

  • Omar Ramos

We went to watch Pretty Woman. Coca Cola sponsored the food for the night, free pizza, free cokes, and free cheese cake. What else can you ask for? The place gets packed fast so arrive early. It was a great night, packed with fun and entertainment. A classic movie too!

Not sure what the recent review from Amanda was all about? This cemetery is an amazing experience with many celebrities including but not limited to; Johnny from the Ramones, the Judy Garland pavillion, Rudolph Valentino, and Tyrone Power. Also, unlike other cemeteries this one will give you a guidebook as well as a map for a small fee. One of thee absolute best experiences in Hollywood!!!

  • Mary Cummins

Hollywood Forever Cemetery is one of the oldest and most well known cemeteries in Los Angeles. It's the final resting place of many well known people and celebrities. They also offer events for the community such as Dia de los Muertos. It is the best Dia de Muertos event in California hands down. I say this as someone whose family was in the cemetery business and as a genealogist.

  • George Vreeland Hill

Hollywood Forever Cemetery is the final resting place of many Hollywood greats. This is a large, beautiful and scenic cemetery that takes you back in time. You will need a map to locate the many legends of the silver screen, and the gift shop has maps and items for sale. They are very helpful. Photos are allowed, but not video. A very peaceful place. beautiful place interesting place to visit. the peacocks are adorable gorgeous and amazing. The scenery with wildlife, around pretty interesting. there are cats roaming around, but overall its a great place for those who are resting there. Judy garland is just around the corner from the mausoleum. pretty sad how no one visits thee older graves that are way in the back

  • Elvidio Santizo

There is an abuse to all the resting souls at Hollywood Forever, since there are way to many activities should be taking place elsewhere. Besides we can't not even enter to visit our late relatives when the Cementary has events on top of the buried. All those activities are respectkess for the majority of us. But it means $$$$$ to the cementary.

I wanted to visit the Hollywood Forever Cemetery for some time now. We found some parking and walked around the cemetery until we found the graves I wanted to visit. I paid my respects to Johnny Ramone and Chris Cornell. Chris is buried right next to Johnny. The grounds are well kept and there are events held at various times of the year.

  • Lynn Anderson

I received compassionate service and support from Adela. She devoted much time to me and patiently addressed each of my concerns. She helped me identify and secure the very best location within the cemetery. Every detail was addressed with the highest level of attention. The cemetery grounds are kept impeccably and it is a joy to visit.

  • Will Riccs

Absolutely beautiful grounds. This location is a must for tourists who want see the final resting places of some of Hollywoods eternal greats. A jaw dropping number of celebrities are resting here, to name a few Rudolph Valentino, Cecil B Demille, Jayne Mansfield, Judy Gardland, Mickey Rooney and Johnny Ramone. Definitely worth a trip.

Way more fun that the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and less busy. Highlights include: The gangs of feral cats that roam the cemetery. The peacock enclosure with posturing males and skittish females. A modest monument to the dog that played Toto in the Wizard of Oz. Loads of other celebrity tombstones. Worth a visit.

  • Andrew Michaels

It's a real piece of Hollywood history. Next to Paramount Studios on Santa Monica Blvd in Hollywood. Tours, movie nights, gorgeous scenery, random appearances by Lana Del Rey, animals and celebrities. Although like any cemetery it's sad and somber, it's beautiful to see how these lives are loved.

  • Hutch Kwatowski

This isn’t t where Marilyn Monroe is buried - I found that out (thanks Wikipedia), but there are hundreds of celebrities here from Judy Garland to Chris Cornell which kinda surprised me. I bought the official guide and talked with a lovely woman at the gift shop about the history of the place.

  • Cory Grindberg

I love the hollywood cemetary. best place to chill in la. it's free, mad trees and nature, BEAUTIFUL, reasonably priced vending machines, AND IT FEATURES 3+ PUBLIC RESTROOMS!! it has peacocks and they're dope. yeah there's dead people in the ground but so what? (respect the dead) 6/5 stars

  • Drew Badger

Security guard was very nice to let me in early as I was visiting from out of state. Very somber and moving experience. Overcast weather made it an absolutely perfect experience. Paying my respects to Chris Cornell, Johnny and Dee Dee Ramone as well as some horror icons back in my day.

  • Youjung Lee

It is totally worth visiting. This place can be a good place for a date. You can enjoy beautiful nature with lots of animals(geese, turtles, swans, ducks, etc) around the pond as well as various types of graves. Plan 1 hour. You can drive in and park anywhere without fees.

  • Alex Hai

A must see for Hollywood movie makers or lovers of the stars this is where it ends- comparable in beauty to the cemetery in Venice Italy but much more surprising variation of graves and thoughts about why we live to begin with. Just amazing how it all blends together

  • Fenix Russell

This is a beautiful serene resting place for some of Hollywood’s most famous. You can drive in for free and wonder around the grounds. There’s birds, peafowls and cat who roam around which add to the eccentric vibe of some of the graves.

  • Tramanh Pham

Wow you really feel the love here. All the peacocks, kitties, flowers, and wildlife really bring you into a new world. It felt magical visiting my friend and we were able to mourn in our own comfort with our being disturbed
