Great place. Like using the free wifi. Staff was helpful getting me connected to the network. Lots of windows and really nice. Garden space looks good but it's for apartment dwellers but still very scenic. You can sit at a chair at the end of book shelves and look out at it.

I have visited the CPL Independence park branch mulitple times and it was great. I have taken books out. The workers and area is spirited and they also offer certain classes pertaining to a specific book. I would recommend going there. Also I live two blocks away

To whomever designed the library, I curse you to hell. Although the staff here is great, this library simply does not function as a library. It is like a child care center. Super super loud and noisy. It is impossible to get anything done.

There is a play area downstairs and a study area upstairs, but right now there is a man letting his daughter run around screaming upstairs while people are trying to study. This is not a place to go if you want somewhere quiet. I even have

I love that this building incorporates low income housing for seniors, and that we got federal funding to make that possible. That is excellent and something important for the neighborhood. So five stars for that. One star for it being an

For many years before this library/apartments were built, there was a funeral home on this lot called the Hollerbach Funeral Home. As a child, I went to day camp at Independence park with the owners grandson Arty. It wasn’t a big funeral

Very loud. I came here for a quiet place to study. Between the construction, the children running around and the constant vacuuming I was unable to get anything done. In addition, with most libraries I have visited, there are study rooms

It is a pretty library, restrooms are always clean, everyone working there has always been helpful to me with a little exception- the young lady behind the computer on the second floor, always seemed annoyed when I had a question (which

Do not use return box in front of the library. The librarians often did not process right and you will get fine for the books that you already returned. A librarian also mentioned, "do not recommend to use return box." Then what is the

It should be called "Independence Branch, Chicago Public Daycare" instead. There are too many kids here during the day, even in the morning through the afternoon, screaming/singing usually at the top of their lungs so it's not a place

Horrible experience, there is this one white female librarian that did not let us charge our devices. Everyone else was able to charge their device but us (only people of color in the area), she asked us to leave since others were

It’s a Montessori School, complete with wooden blocks on a concrete floor and toddlers pillow fighting with floor cushions, on a late morning weekday. Occasional toddler bawling, cause you can get injured. At the library.

worst place to study. There's no enough tables to bring your laptop. The first floor is open for events. I went there and a guy was playing piano. ‍♀️ Not a good place if your looking for a quite place to study …

  • Elias Fernandez

Not enough books and it's cold style/design was not good but worse of all I was followed by white guy security guard the entire time I was upstairs. Guy by the door on ground floor was very nice and helpful though …

So glad to see so many people out. People with dogs, laying in the grass, kids in the playground, soccer, baseball, jogging. After a terrible year and winter it's leaves you hopeful that or lives aren't over after all

  • Alan Snipes

Whoever designed this library branch did not understand that the kids section noise, which is out in the open, permeates the entire library. Most branches have the kids section seperate from the adults.

  • Kristen DeLap

Beautiful space, but very wide open. So not a good place for quiet study. Definitely geared toward children and community events. Great kids book selection. Little slim for adults. Bring a sweater!

State of the Art design for a Quaint Neighbor hood library. Every chair every desk everything is colorfully coordinated.great library except the Head librarian is a harsh

Bright, beautiful and modern library. Lots of options for kids, quiet areas for adults, and helpful staff. On a rainy Sunday it was a relaxing spot for the whole family.

  • Ruth Meberg!

Great staff, somehow both kid centered while also peaceful enough to sit for a few hours and work or read. Five stars, would library again.

Is this a Public Library or a Daycare Center? Overall, it's an OK library, although not as nice as most of the CPL's, because

Large selection, kind staff, and overall, a great addition to the community. Love how they connect with all age groups.

Beautiful library with friendly staff. The problem is that they almost never have the correct hours listed on google.

Beautiful space, interesting, different selection, way too cold and a little loud. Also, parking was a huge pain.

Beautiful library with an abundance of light and breakout rooms. Great place to study or meeting with a group.
