There is no doubt that this school has great facilities and that the students are all gifted in their own right. However, a pretty building does not make a good school. The education provided by this school is amazing however this schools fails to understand that forcing students to overwork and shunning social interactions is toxic to a pupils mindset. This school tries its hardest to ban their students from social network and using mobile phones despite today's society showing great success and benefits of using sites such as YouTube. Moreover, it lacks understanding in that students learn in different ways and different speeds. If your children find it personally easier to study whilst listening to music, do not send them here as they will confiscate your headphones and mobile phones. For this reason, others students form other schools see this institution as a 'Overly strict' and 'Unpleasant' place to study in. It has a reputation around the borough as a 'Wet' or 'Moist' school, which is slang for either boring or just plain dead. Especially sixth form students believe this, INA tries to instill this sense of responsibility and independence in students but continues to heavily treat their pupils as if they are children. With the banning of websites and mobile phones, the constant need for supervision, the unnecessarily formal dress code and the short lunch times, I advise you think multiple times before attending this school or sending your kid to this school.

This school doesn't focus on helping students but punishing them instead. Forcing them to lose touch with a future that will become digital. They do not allow phones inside school premises which could be used for social or educational purposes. They do not care to think what the student's need are. The lunches seem to be "alright" but students tend to skip lunch due to the quality of the food and overpricing them too much. The big band system is good, and it seems to be working but every other aspect of this school is horrible. No phones, which will cause the students to have a NEED for a phone and will resort to sneaking it in for the pleasure of being a rebellious teen. They never pick up calls and students don't feel safe approaching teachers and do not have anyone to contact. The fact that this school has the "right" to take phones to keep overnight is horrible. Not everyone lives locally and will need a phone with them at all times to have some sort of safety. Will not be surprised if a lot of students leave this school.

I am a parent who had to withdraw my daughter from the INA. We were pleased with how the school represented themselves on the open day only to find that the reality was far different from the initial facade. Teachers were not responsive to the child or parent's concerns and as a professional I was not happy with the lack of adult dialogue with my daughter's form tutor and head of humanities at the time. I am not a pupil/child and expected to be treated as an adult/parent. Seeing what my daughter was going through as a pupil, pulling her out of the school was the best action that I had taken. The head teacher at the time was approachable and understanding but there was no action she could take to improve the welfare of my daughter, given the academy status of the school.

I've been shocked by how this school has deteriorated over the last 5 years. The academy strongly focuses on its reputation, and the emphasis on child development has diminished. There is a lack of trust and understanding between students and teachers. Recently, my fourteen-year-old son expressed the insecurity he felt within school premises. Unsupervised I.C.T suites and classrooms have led to unnoticed bullying and overlooked disputes between students. Teaching standards have increasingly devalued. Learning is no longer taught, but rather, forced and agonized into pupils. Mental health problems among young people are heightening in the country; and with such tormenting schools, it's not surprising.

At first you'd think this is a great school due to their pretty building but after a few weeks you'll realise all they care about is imposing unrealistic expectations on students along with forcing them to only eat school lunch, I honestly don't care how good their school lunch is, they tend to take a certain amount of money from your child's account and whether they eat lunch or not, that money is gone. This system is ridiculous as not everyone prefers school food and it can be expensive doing this every week especially when you have no say in it. I would not recommend this school to anybody. Try to stay away from them as a good exterior doesn't mean it's a good school on the inside.

One of the worst schools i have come across. Really badly organised can, noyone ever answers the phone/email, i have once been on the phone for 20 mins. Really unorganised homework send wrong text messages of detention so the your child is left to wait an hour to be picked up. Really bad food and they dont allow packed lunch just another way to make money with out providing the service. Soo dissapointed with this school just waiting untill my child get to leave this terrible school. Will be changing for sixth form.

My son went to this school I have taken him out now because of the attitude of the teachers. I was asked to come to the school for a meeting with the teachers just because they have the power to say anything they use it and abuse it and don't let the kids well my son say anything. my son told me dad the teachers don't even let us explain ourselves to prove this at the meeting I let a certain teacher speak every time my son went to speak she will not let him. The teachers are under trained and liers.

The harassment, bullying and exclusion this school states in its policy document as wishing to deter, comes from the teachers themselves. The school operates for its targets and staff appraisal. The children's mental and emotional wellbeing appears secondary. And the arrogance displayed by teachers with little or no competence dismays, especially when your child's education is at stake! The EIM model on which Ark schools is based is worth a read. I would not recommend.

  • Leo 2016

Teachers bully and harrass students because need to look good for head teacher report. Lots of punishments if students target not achieved. Student suffer stress and anxiety fearing "failure" if they don't get AA++ in all subjects. Way too much homework - each teacher harassing because their assignments are "more important" than anything else. Detentions for very petty mistakes. Teachers very highly focused on punishing kids. Anything achieved is "not good enough".

I think this school has potential. A few minor tweaks should fix it, namely rewriting all current policies, waiting for the current senior leadership team to either retire or find better jobs, and for ARK to hand the power back to the community. Bridges? Meh.. Anyone might think it wasn't an Ofsted vanity project. And the way they patrol these reviews indicates that they take themselves a little too seriously. You want that to rub off on your children?

Safeguarding and Leadership Concerns. Long school days, lots of detentions. My son has been diagnosed with depression due to school related work stress. 157 fixed term exclusions since 2012 (Almost 40 a year), Little school accountability (Chair of Governors is also a director of Ark Academies). The government's academies model is failing, privatisation of education through the back door. Would not recommend this school or ARK academies.

Bulls*it!!! I've made an in-year application, twice!! One was last year, and now for Year 1. My child was number 6 in the place, and after a week she was number 10. All because other applications were made and the others have siblings at the school. Isn't it supposed to be equal for everyone??? Or the other kids are somehow special?? It is equal rights for education for everyone. Very disappointed!!!

  • Mahfuja Rahman

Gave computer science a-level students the wrong exam board, recruited new teachers unable to teach or discipline class, one-way system, lack of cover teachers so students to teach themselves in dining halls (sometimes with the wrong lessons), informed students of exams a week late, lower grades and lack of varied GCSE and A-level options.

  • Shahrul Haider

The school is no doubt terrible always giving my son petty detentions that are 1hour!! They have put me through soo much stress and also paying so much for food that is not as good as it is suppose to be .Some teachers try and put pressure and interigate my son like there police .I would not recommend this skl it is so bad

  • RAJVEER AYTAN

This school had largely improved then last time. The launch has a good variety and it is largely food that is nice. Also the teachers do care about you and te sort of grades you get in your tests. However there is still quit a bit to go for the school to get 5 stars.

  • i vlogs

it is very very bad coming from a utuber it is very bad detentions on detentions saturdays no phones no gum just homework on homework if you want your child to live don't send him over here and apparently if you don not give them a star they won't let you post it

  • Hussain OG account

The school is very nice and teach well , as well as the teachers , but one problem in this school is that the lunch prices are too high , they should reduce it to about 2 pounds or lower , if they do , this school will be at the best

  • khadija

It's meh but the teachers abuse their power wayy too much. They just dish out detentions like its nothing. It's so annoying especially the detentions themselves, like 1hour for something as little as forgetting your homework.

This school is absolutely pathetic and ridiculous. The teachers need sorting out. Not ALL teachers but some do not know their limits to when to abuse human rights.
