Edit of review: How sad that a fresh vet clinic who doesn't know my dog and has no records of her would take an emergency walk in. Sad to say she has parvo! Even after taking my dog to island pet hospital to get her checked out when we first got her to see if she was healthy because she was a neglected puppy who was pretty much skin and bones when we got her. We have 3 other dogs in the house! We ended up changing vets because the vet we used to go to moved back to her home town, so island had the best reviews. Now looking into it (I work for a lawyers office who deals with a lot of scams so we look into a lot of things. For every bad review you have 3 to 4 good reviews but when clicked on these reviewers, either people haven't written reviews before or haven't written one in a year or so. That usually doesn't happen with reviewer's; also multiple reviewers. It's a pattern! How do I take my dog here to get her checked and you tell me nothing and they vaccinated her that day too, all 3 rabies parvo and I think its distemper. Call to get an appointment because she was POOPING BLOOD AND LETHARGIC and your receptionist has the worse manners on the phone, from hanging up to being snarky and not caring and then for a SICK dog you tell me WELL WE HAVE NO APPOINTMENTS TIL TUESDAY AND THIS IS FRIDAY. So my dog has to wait the whole weekend plus Monday which I got cuz it's a holiday but wow. This isn't the only problem I've had with this vet but they were little problems compared to this, but now I see it should have all been warning signs. Little problems: 1. Why do I fill out paperwork to only have your inputter input almost all my information wrong from my dogs name to my address to even my phone number. 2. When I go to correct them they have an attitude about it. What really bothers me is I'm telling you to your face how to say my dogs name and they go back right to saying however they want. My other dog I brought in with my new puppy is my oldest girl, shes been having problems and all the doctor had said was shes over weight. We ran $300 worth of testing and that's what you come up with, oh and her liver is enlarged. So is that not something that could be caused by something. No your dog is just overweight because her blood work came back fine. Her name is shylah but your vet and receptionist thought they could name her Shiloh and constantly call her that even after I told them that's not her name. Take SHYLAH into new vet after taking my sick dog into the vet and come to find out she has Cushing's disease. We spent $300 that day taking both girls to island pet hospital to specifically get them checked out and on both dogs you failed! Shylah you did blood work and should have said you recommend doing xrays because of her liver but no your vet told us it's because shes fat and has no other symptoms. Yes she does! Our new vet said symptoms of pooping blood and her pot belly should have been a sign. Very disappointed in this vet. So now outta 4 dogs 2 are sick. We had to get our other 2 dogs checked just in case. Thank God they are fine. 3. They cannot update nothing on file it seems. My other 2 dogs are fully vaccinated and I've given their paperwork to them twice now and yet it shows they are not. Cant write any more due to it making me delete from my old review. Will not be taking my dogs back to this vet just because of poor service when actually trying to get your dog to see their vet when they are sick. My dog has been vommiting and pooping blood since 5am, vet opens at 8am call to make an appointment or say that it's an emergency and because everywhere googled says not to wait and to contact your vet. Tell her she's pooping blood and lethargic. Well we don't have appointments till Tuesday. Did you not hear me that my dog is lethargic and pooping blood and u want me to wait till tuesday. Asked if there was any emergency section or even a vet they work through and her response was well you can drive down here and wait in your car and maybe someone will see you.

We lived in Las Vegas several years ago and used to take our previous dog to Island Pet Hospital. We have since moved away, but while visiting Las Vegas recently our 20-month old dog started having diarrhea. Island Pet Hospital was very good about getting us an appointment. We mentioned to Dr. Brian Rokos that our dog has had this problem several times in the past and that an antibiotic along with a multi-probiotic food spray would always remedy the problem. Dr. Rokos gave us two options for treatment. One option was to leave our dog for the entire day and they would administer IV medications (e.g. anti-emetic, antibiotics, and appetite stimulant), IV fluids for hydration, take an abdominal x-ray, and send him home with prescription dog food, etc. Option two was to administer IV fluids for hydration while we waited in the office then send him home with oral antibiotics, a pro-biotic, and prescription dog food. We felt both of these options were overkill, but that we didn't have any other choice - the diarrhea needed to be addressed. We reluctantly went with option two. After the IV fluids/hydration was completed, the vet tech brought our dog back into the room. There were no instructions or explanation about the big hump and blood on his back where the IV fluids were given. The tech then tried to administer a liquid medication into our dog's mouth, but a large amount of it ended up on the floor and her shoe. When questioned about this, the tech simply replied that it was okay and that "he got MOST of the medicine". The tech then handed us a bag containing oral medications, prescription dog food, and a fecal home kit. No instructions were given until asked. The instructions given were very vague at best. The tech said she didn't know how much of the prescription dog food to give at mealtime. We never got a clear answer so just gave our dog what we thought he might need/want. We were also instructed to go home, get a fecal sample, and drive 45 minutes across town to have Island Pet Hospital test the sample. We were charged $361.40 for the visit. We were charged $91.50 just for the fecal kit, which consisted of one exam glove, one wooden tongue blade, and a plastic vial. WOW!!!! Needless to say, we didn't return with a fecal sample and incur even more charges!!! We feel we were taken advantage of and will definitely find another veterinary clinic should we need one during future visits to the area. UPDATE: Shanay, the clinic manager at Island Pet Hospital, just called to follow-up on the above post made earlier this afternoon. Shanay talked at length with my husband and me about our recent experience at her clinic. She was very interested in our feedback and keeping us as clients. Shanay was absolutely wonderful and made every effort to make things right. She also credited the $91.50 for the fecal kit back to us. My husband and I truly appreciate Shanay's quick response to our concerns. This was a great example of outstanding customer service. Thank you, Shanay.

It saddens me to have to write this review but I was taken advantage of yesterday 9/27/23 and I need to share my experience so it doesn't happen to anyone else. I've been taking my 2 dogs to Dr Rokos for 4 years and have never had any complaints until now. I brought my 12 yr old cat in on 9/12 because his long hair had become so matted that he needed to be given anesthesia in order to be shaved (it would be very painful it was that bad) Dr Rokos agreed it was bad and that would be the best option for him. He asked me if I had any other concerns and I let him know he had started drooling a little (Not much) asked if he could just look at teeth. His observation was that his teeth looked really good but couldn't see in the back. Told me I could get a dental perodental done while we shave him since he's under anyways. I asked for a quote but said I wasn't worried about his teeth only his matted fur ( reason for appt) Received quote for almost $600 and I let the girl who handed me the quote know I could not pay that amount I was only interested in the shaving. I went home, talked it over with hubby and he agreed there was no need for the dental when he's not having any issues (He also doesn't eat soft food and had no plaque) I called to make the appt and the receptionist wrote notes that I only wanted full shaving with anesthesia. Arrived 8am on sept 27 and no one mentioned the dental! I never signed anything and the only thing mentioned was the shaving which the lady came out to talk with me about what was to happen and how she would update me later. She was compassionate and thorough. loved her! I arrived at 3 pm for pick up and the receptionist said it was $594. When I asked her why it was so high, she broke it down and said dental. I let her know I never wanted that to be done because of cost and didn't feel it was even necessary. She said she remembered making my appt and had notes on it saying I didn't want the dental. She proceeded to phone the dr from the front desk and I could hear 90% of what he said and it was very unprofessional and was almost yelling at her saying that they are not groomers and it would cost me more if I had only gotten the shaving without the dental. What the heck? He wouldn't come up front to talk to me. The receptionist went in the back and you could hear them talking about it. She let him know she made the appt without dental and there were notes on it about it. I guess he just chose to do it anyways? They could have called me to discuss if there were any questions about service. I never agreed to have dental done. it was just his way of making money. I paid the money even though I didn't agree but I'm not a confrontational person and didn't want to be embarrassed by getting mad. I will no longer be bringing my animals here and I will no longer recommend. I will let others know what happened to me. I had no issues with any of the staff or other Vet. So disappointing and handled unprofessionally

The the two vet. tecs. We're both unnecessarily rough & forceful in handling my docile and calm fully trained Service Animal (dog.) What could have been an extremely simple procedure of drawing blood out of his leg became a forceful attempt at digging around in his neck with a needle in an attempt to draw blood . When not able to draw the blood fast enough she began "digging the needle around once inserted in my dog's neck" searching for the vein when in fact the needle should have been removed ,the vein located then reinserted . The two vet techs did not speak in a calm voice at all with my dog during the procedure. The first time I've ever been to a vet that a technician performing a procedure didn't say anything calming or use a soft voice when handling my dog.. Can you imagine having someone insert a needle in you and then dig around to find the vein ? The pain would be unbearable and it obviously was for my dog . After watching how this was being done I stopped them. They were hurting my dog and it was obvious. Unnecessary behavior for a standard blood test. In an emergency situation when saving a life is of the utmost importance being gentle would not be first priority . The veterinarian himself was even rough and forceful trying to get a cone in the dog's ear to look at that And spoke roughly to my dog at this point scaring it even more. I spoke to the vet about the manner in which she (one of the two vet techs) was digging around in my dog's neck with a needle and he stated " it usually doesn't hurt em" Yes this veterinarian handles all breeds of animals. This was not a horse with thick skin it was a docile dog. Had they discussed the procedure prior to doing it the outcome would have been different . This dog will stand still and not move with no restraint while someone draws blood out of his leg. That's how docile and calm this dog is. Our vet out-of-state is the same type that handles and treats all breeds of animals. So there's no excuse for this Behavior when treating a docile dog. When making arrangements to bring my dog in they were told that this was an assist animal and was trained . Unfortunately I will not subject my dog to this manner of treatment for routine office visit & blood work. The facility was nice and clean the front office staff was beyond nice. I would have no hesitation in coming back and seeing a different vet at this location except for the treatment and handling by the vet techs would prevent me from returning at all. I'm so terribly disappointed!!

Took my dog in for a canine influenza shot on Oct. 20. I was told there is a second booster shot required after the initial vax. Before I left the facility I asked when I should bring him back and was told in “2 or 3 weeks.” They charged me $75 for a vaccination that was done by a tech and not the doctor. This was the lesser expensive way to do it! $75 for a shot administered by a vet tech, wow! So three weeks later I was informed that the first shot expired 20 days after it was administered. I was told that I’d have to pay another $75 to repeat the vax. I asked why they told me it was ok to wait 3 weeks and also why they didn’t tell me it would expire in less than 3 weeks. They had no answer. After some discussion she said that I had disabled text and email notifications. Another words it was my fault. I had not. I then asked her when they attempted to contact me to remind me to get the booster. She didn’t know because corporate handles text and email reminder, not the facility staff. ??? I asked to speak with the office manager and was told to call back on Monday. So I called back and it was obvious the receptionist was screening calls for the office manager who was “busy” but wanted to know why I was calling. I asked her to have the manager call me back and she never did. I had my dogs teeth cleaned not long ago and have spent probably $700 or $800 there in the last year. But I guess that doesn’t rate a courtesy call back from an employee. Expecting me to pay $225 (3X$75) order to get what should be $100 for two shots is a joke. I owned the largest pet boarding and daycare facility in Southern Utah and I know what their mark up is on vaccinations. I also know that ignoring an unhappy customer by refusing to speak to them is not a good way to stay in business and retain customers. It’s the worst possible behavior. I hope that extra $75 they tried to squeeze out of me was worth it. I’ve taken my dog and business elsewhere.

Initially, I was very worried about bringing my cat to a vet, as I'd heard rumors that some vets in Vegas will sneak in extra charges and unnecessary procedures, and I had just moved from Utah. My cat, Sheldon, had begun shredding furniture and carpet, and no amount of filing, claw caps, tin foil, and training was helping. We decided to have him declawed, and after much research, we brought him here. I couldn't be more happy with the service Sheldon and I received. I scheduled an appointment, and the attendants at the office were incredibly friendly and kind. We were seen shortly after arriving, everything on time and on schedule, and the vet was happy to explain everything we needed to know about the procedure, and also happily acknowledged my own research and understanding for clarification. I was well informed about everything that needed to happen, including care post-surgery. The surgery went very well, and they kept Sheldon for two days to follow up on his treatment and ensure he was recovering well. I was called daily regarding his status, and updated with everything that happened. Incredible! When we came to pick Sheldon up, the ladies at the office recognized not only me, but my boyfriend by name, and we were quickly reunited. Sheldon made a rapid recovery, and we brought him in for a follow up appointment to make sure that the stitches had kept everything closed up and healthy. I was shocked at how cheap the procedure was compared to the research I'd done and expected, and to top it off, the follow up appointment had no fee. If you have a pet that needs care, this is the best place around, even topping the care I received at various clinics in Utah. Procedures are cheap and fair, you're kept in the loop, and your pet is watched over by genuinely caring eyes. You will not regret it!

Where to start.. I took my Shih tzu who has been a part of our family since she was 6 weeks old,She is now 10. She had a lot of blood in her urine and we took her into a vet that proceeded to scare me (while my 13yd old and 9 yr old were in the room) telling me that if I didn't get her surgery THAT DAY she would die but the surgery would be 2k and I asked if they work a payment plan and he turned nasty and rude. So I decided to search another Vet clinic. I called the Island Pet Hospital to talk to someone about my issue and the reseptionist was able to get me in within 30 min of me calling. When I got there they were very polite, and friendly. Then they took us in to see the tech that did the workup on our Bella. She was gentle, nurturing and empathetic of Bella's issue. When Dr. Wedig came in to do the exam she was just WONDERFUL.. She explained everything that was happening, why it was happening, and what we can do to prevent this from happening again. She even gave us options with what the pros and cons would be of each option. Mind you she is a busy Dr. However she saw the seriousness of our issue and was able to fit us in for surgery the next day. When the exam was done Sereena and Shelby at the from desk gave us options for payment and were able to come up with an agreement that worked for everyone. I just can't say enough about them. Even the day after surgery I got a call from Islands pet hospital that really made me feel like they cared. Because of them our family was able to avoid a traumatic situation at home with loosing our love one. There are no words to express our families gratitude towards everyone at this location. Thank you again.

First Class Veterinary Center with pet boarding services. Alyssa Watson DVM is our vet of choice for 2 Old English Sheep Dog rescues and one Great Dane rescue. She is also a Great Dane owner. Unlike many clinics I have been to Dr. Watson ALWAYS approaches your pet issues with the cheapest option first and as a rescuer I can't say enough about this approach. Our Great Dane puppy Sam needed bloat prevention surgery as this is a responsible approach to large chested dogs long term health. If you have never had a Great Dane you may not appreciate how quickly they can become your dearest inseparable friend. The estimated cost for the surgery was lower than most estimates but the fact that Dr. Watson performed the same surgery on her own baby convinced me she was our best option. The surgery was flawless and our 130# bouncing baby boy is having a ball everyday at the local dog park. We also have two aging rescued Old English Sheep dogs. Dr. Watson has been instrumental in extending their lives with advanced techniques that enable older large breed dogs to have an active and pain free life far past their expected life span. These treatments aren't cheap however they are far superior to other options presented. I have the utmost respect and confidence in Dr. Alyssa Watson of Island Pet Hospital and have interacted with other staff members there for several years and have no reservation rating her and this clinic as 5 out of 5 every day of the week. Thanks, Rick McGarry

We have been living in Las Vegas for the past 4 years and HAD NOT been able to find an EXCELLENT Dr that TRULY cares for your fur-baby until we met Dr. Brian Rokos!! If I could give Island Pet Hospital a 100 out of 5, I would. From the staff to Dr. Brian Rokos, What can I say? They were all amazing, kind, considerate, and very patient. The staff themselves were patient, Ms. Selena from the front desk took the time to ask the Dr to clarify any confusion I had over the phone, and answered any questions themselves if able. When walking into the clinic for the first time, we were met with warm smiles and quickly signed into. Meeting Dr. Rokos was the highlight of the appointment. As he came in, he greeted us and took the time to answer all our questions in GREAT DETAIL. Not Like other vets who do this career for money. You can tell and SEE that Dr. Rokos has a love and passion for what he does and loves to educate his clients on everything pertaining to your pet, so you go home understanding and not lost on what happened at the clinic and on what to do. So happy to have found a very competent and knowledgeable Doctor. Truly a rare one of the few in this world who love animals and want to do what is best for them. Thank you Dr. Rokos for your compassion and understanding when it comes to our fur-babies needs and health.

Todays money grab was the last straw. Lost customer, and we’ve spent $20k-ish through this vet. Today I brought my cat in because she has small bumps forming. I wanted to get them checked. Instead of the normal sequence: Check in, Examination, Recommendation, it went straight from Check In to $600-700 estimate with no examination. Instead of checking her and saying “yeah, these are normal but let’s check them to be safe,” or even, “no, not normal at all, let’s check them,” the tech walked in with a big estimate and then said she’d take her back for exam. This stung because we’ve already lost a dog to a missed diagnosis from this vet. Our dog tore her ACL and needed surgery. When Island Pet Hospital checked her blood they said that her calcium was way up and it was “probably from the injury.” We did an ACL surgery that was $8k by the time it was all done, but she was dead four months later from lymphoma, which was the source of the calcium levels being so high. I didn’t hold it against them, and even used them for our other dogs bladder stone removal. However, today was it for us. We have boarded here, had surgeries here, and routine check ups here, despite being an hour from our home. Following today’s money grab, we are looking elsewhere for our pets health needs.

We have been working with Island Pet since we moved to Las Vegas almost 10 years ago. They have seen our lives changed each time we adopted a pet or lost a pet. Never have I ever been treated with such love and compassion by the caring staff at Island Pet. You and your pet are greeted the minute you enter, and from there the experience just gets better. I love the fact that the vets have my pets health as their first interest. We have two great Danes, and the love and care they both received by the vets and the staff was second to none. From the warm greeting they give my pet to the treat as we leave out the door, such a positive experience. Plus the fact that there are always techs available to help buckle your pet in the car. Fry is 180 pounds and Bender is 135, and the ease in which they handle and care for my boys is wonderful. Even though they do not care for rabbits, my bunnies have still been given such a loving send off when it came time to have them travel over the rainbow bridge. No pet is ever forgotten at Island. Each pet is unique and loved by the staff and vets. Thank you for the love and care you give my boys. We love Island Pet Hospital. Best vet that I have ever been to. I have been a pet owner majority of my life and when we relocated to Las Vegas last year it can be difficult to find that right doctor for your animals. We have 4 cats, one of which was older and has had many issues. We started going to Island Animal Hospital and it was determined that our oldest cat was having kidney issues. They ran the tests and determined that he needed regular IV fluid treatments. For about the last year my wife and I would bring spots into the clinic regularly to get his fluids and the staff had gotten so used to seeing him they nicknamed him grumpy cat because of the look on his face. The staff truly gave us the feeling that they knew him and we always received first class service all the way to the end. Recently our old man took a turn for the worse and the time came for us to let him rest, the staff really took care of us, not rushing us, and allowing us to grieve at our own pace until we were comfortable to leave. This place is a business, but you would never know it because of the excellent personal service and the manner of treatment they have given our pets. Will recommend Island Pet Hospital to anyone who asks. Thank you so much for your service to the animals.

This review is to not only share my own experiences I've had, but to also share a honest and positive perspective about Island Pet Hospital. I have always been treated amazing here from all of the staff. Yes at times the wait has been a little longer then usual however with the world being short staffed everywhere it’s understandable plus I would rather be seen by a doctor that I know cares and is willing to take their time with my pet rather then a fast visit and I feel I’m not being heard. My experiences have always been great and never have I had an issue. Everytime that I come the hospital manager is always attentive and greets me when I walk past. I also will see her helping and being more active than most management especially at other hospitals I've been to. I always feel welcomed and get the best service. This is to say for people who are looking for a good hospital not only do I recommend here, but I also suggest that you don’t believe all the bad reviews people leave as people tend to not be honest when things do not go there way. Be your own opinion and value the positive feedback from others over the negatives because there is always two sides to a story.

If you want to be treated like a criminal, this is the place. For all new clients, they require that you pay them a fee to schedule your first appointment. Not only do they want this fee because they are worried that you're going to make a fake appointment or don't have enough money to pay for the visit, but they expect you to pay this fee in the most security compromised way possible. They want you to read all your card information over the phone. The card number, expiration date, and security code. They don't offer any way to pay this fee online through a more secure method. It's common sense 101 that you don't make transactions like this. This is a big red flag for either discrimination or incompetency. The only other option they proposed is to drive there and schedule the appointment in person. I don't understand why they want me to waste my time and drive to the physical location to schedule an appointment. This level of mistrust is not the environment you want to do business with. I personally don't want to bring my pet to a place that treats new customers like this, and neither should you.

  • Kiara McSmith

This place completely SUCKS. They don't give a crap about your animals. They just your want money. When you tell them you don't have the funds for the treatments at the time and want to work out a payment plan with them, they instantly drop all the fake smiles and turn into a-holes with major attitude. I came into the hospital because someone dropped my kitten from the second story stairs and he was practically dying. He was spitting up blood and couldn't stop using the bathroom on himself and when explained that we can't pay all at once, the stupid blonde vet's response was "Well this is a business." We were understandably upset and instead of listening to our concerns, she rolls her eyes and goes to get her "director." Her director came in with an even worse snobby attitude and doesn't say anything but "You're done in my clinic." I've never met such rude, inconsiderate, insensitive excuses for doctors in my life. Don't ever come here, ever. They may have good reviews from a year ago but I guarantee you that avoiding this place is in your best interest.

Waited the typical 45 minutes past our appointment time. There was a fill-in vet who was quite full of himself. We wanted arthritis meds for our aged dog who is in pain. The vet recommended $850.00 worth of tests before he would prescribe meds. We opted for $400.00 worth of tests. The vet asked us to leave our dog there for 45 minutes. After hearing nothing, 90 minutes later we returned for our dog. We had some difficulty getting our dog as no one knew what was going on and the front desk was not allowed to get our dog. The vet could not be found, seriously! The very abrupt office manager finally returned our dog, but after a three hour ordeal we got no prescription. I called the next morning (before the owner suggested I do so). The office manager was quite upset that I called her abrupt even though she turned her back on me and walked away while I was talking to her. My prescription had still not been refilled. They offered me a new appointment to start all over again with a new substitute vet. No thanks.

I have been to this location a couple times with my french bulldog, although I have gotten decent services from the vets, the staff can be rude and curt at times. I know things are rough right now, but when we call, its prob because our furr babies don't feel so well. My dog was paralyzed for a few minutes, and the receptionist could not have cared. I couldn't get in on an emergency basis, nor would they talk to the vet to see how serious my dog was in. They told me I could have an appointment in a week. I was so completely stressed, I have raised my pup since she was born, and it was like my daughter being hurt and I could not help her. My husband is in the military and currently deployed. So a little compassion goes a long way. I called another animal hospital and they were sweet and caring and went out of their way to help me. I will never ever go to this pet hospital again, nor would I ever recommend anyone else going either. Especially when there are better choices in the Las Vegas area.

We always love Island Pet Hospital! With both Cinder and my late Buttermilk, we've always had a great experience with this hospital, and especially Dr. Wedig. Everyone has always been so gracious when working with us on our limited funds situations, and have made it feel like our boys are just as loved there as at home. My only concern is that the emergency vet Island refers to during their off hours is far from the quality of service we've received at Island. When I had to take Buttermilk in because of his heart failure, the receptionist treated us as though we were trash because we said up front we had next to no funds for his treatment, and told vet staff we had refused care credit when we had not. My only caveat when I refer friends and family to Island is that they should find a different vet than what Island recommends for emergency situations.

Dr. Rokos was awesome with our pittie Jesse. He really explains everything to you and you can tell that he really cares about the animals. April 15, 2022- As a follow up, Jessie had a vet appointment for a vaccine and a Fecal/Guardia test. Doctor was awesome as always. However, the price increase for the Fecal w/Giardia test was just insane. Last year I paid $48 and this year was $91. Once I realized this, I called the clinic thinking it might have been a typo but was told that this is the new price and the reason behind increase was inflation and a new company that took over the clinic. I am not sure that "inflation" justifies that large of an increase nor the new ownership. Was also told that all vets increased their prices. Well, I called two separate vet clinics and prices were around $50. A price increase like that should not happen.

The staff and vet are super helpful!! Our baby was in pain and they were able to give us a happier doggo. I am so thankful to everyone at pet island!!! Dr roko did an amazing job with the extractions and took out all the teeth that were necessary and stayed with the estimate which we really appreciate as our household only has 1 income at the moment. The specialist that we were referred too was also amazing. Once again thank you soo much for helping us with tofu. He is no longer grouchy. The front desk person (I can't remember her name) was also amazing!! She has great customer service. If it helps in finding her she asked where I get my nails done and I gave her my nail techs card. She deserves a raise!! She was soo understanding and helpful!! It was a very stressful day but you guys made it easier on us.

We followed Dr. Wedig from her last hospital. The office staff was very preoccupied when we first got there, so we weren't too sure what to expect. But as soon as they were able to take care of us, we were (and still are) beyond happy. Everyone was so helpful with our questions and the process. We were a little apprehensive about trying a new hospital for our dog, but we really love Dr. Wedig. I am now confident we made the right choice in following her. Our dog really seemed to warm up to one of the ladies in the back, I'm sorry I didn't catch her name. He usually doesn't warm up to anyone like that, so it was awesome to see!! One of the ladies even approached us in the parking lot on our way to tell us how good our dog was. Those little things mean a great deal to us!!

  • Sabrina Garner

We've been coming here for many years. They have always been a wonderful and caring staff and we have never felt rushed during our appointments! They have always welcomed us in during emergencies and have never once seemed annoyed or bothered. Dr.Watson and the other doctors are so wonderful and patient. We recently had to put our dog down due to cancer and they were amazing every step of the way; from diagnosis to the day we had to say good bye they were flexible with our schedules and took their time to care for Rock. Dr.Watson was so amazing and let us take our time saying good bye and talked us through the entire process which I'm sure was not easy. Thank you for everything you've done for us and our family!

I have been using the Veterinary staff at Island Pet Hospital since I arrived in Vegas in 1999. They have carried me through the life and death of 3 dogs and 3 cats. Currently they care for my dogs, cats and rats. Dr. Watson is my "go-to" vet. She is awesome and my dogs just love coming to see her. Dr. Goldman was fantastic and I'm really disappointed that he's no longer there. As it stands right now, I will remain at IPH as long as Dr. Watson is there. She is the only one there right now that I trust my animals with. I had a bad experience with Dr. Collins awhile back, I'm sorry, but he will not be treating any of my animals. If they get someone in to take Dr. G's place I will give them a try also.

  • Toni S

I have used 4 other vets in Vegas and settled on and stuck with Goldman for maybe 7 years. I don't always agree with him but he is open to the dialogue and not offended by being questioned or challenged. If he is offended that sometimes do the exact opposite of his recommendation, he doesn't show it. I respect his professional opinions, advice and knowledge base. I am confident that he cares about the animals that he sees. Even though we don't always see I to eye, I don't question the integrity or motives of the vets here. I return because my pets receive solid thorough quality care. I am never happy with the bill but and i am never happy with ANY bill. the place is clean, staff helpful & friendly.

  • r g

So far my experience there has been very favorable. If you have an appointment you are seen on time. Staff is courteous and friendly. Facility is clean and well maintained. They explain every step of the care provided, and offer preventive care. They treat your pet as if it was their own. Dr. Watson is nothing short of outstanding. If Dr. Watson is not available I wait until she returns to duty. The other doctors are great too, but a patient just gets used to having the same person. They are a little pricey, but for the service rendered and the no-wait time for appointments make this a non-issue. I feel that my dog gets better care than I do at my HMO. Recommended, no reservations.

  • Andrew Jackson

Just a word to prospective patients of Island Pet Hospital. We have been taking our owners there for a few years now whenever we need a check up or have an issue resolved. We have been following Dr Kevin Collins around whereever he goes. Although we don't particularly enjoy being poked and prodded by him we know he genuinely cares for us. I've nipped at him a few times to make sure he knows who is boss and he acknowledges such. The staff at the hospital are good people and make the visit even more enjoyable. We get cookies when we are done. Then we let our owners take us back to Boulder City. That's how much we like going to Island Pet Hospital....and you will too

  • Katelyn Koplan

Of course my Frenchie got a UTI while we were on vacation in Vegas so I didn't have access to our regular vet. Dr. McCluskey was exceptional! One of the best vets I have taken my pup to. He went above and beyond! One of the ladies at the front desk was also wonderful. She came around the desk and gave my doggo a treat. The other lady the front that checked me in was super short and rude. To the point where I almost left. Had I not been in an urgent situation with my dog peeing blood her first impression would have sent me packing to another office. The rest of the staff made up for it ten fold!

  • Russ

Dr Dawsey and the staff at Island Pet Hospital go above and beyond to make sure your pet gets the best care possible. They are very courteous, helpful and will always fit you in if you have any sort of emergency. Boarding is no different, they make sure your little guy/girl is well taken care of even if your pet has certain dietary and medication needs. The front staff is also always very inviting, happy and they show true concern for you and your fury family member! I highly recommend Island Pet Hospital especially if you are looking for a new place to get excellent care for your pet!

  • Johan Aliseo

I have been going here with both my beagles since my boy was 8 weeks old. Both my pups have been well cared for. When they were younger I would board them at Island and the care was exceptional. As they have gotten older it seems too much stress on them not to be at home, so I have them pet sat while I'm out of town. My girl fractured her spine when she was about 4 and Island took exceptional care of her until she could go in for fusion surgery at another facility. I am extremely pleased with Island's care of my fur babies and will continue to bring my pups there.

  • Marilyn M.

This hospital was a horrible experience. The front desk staff was so rude each & every time in person or on the phone. The only polite staff was the manager & the techs in the back. They were unreliable with sending me estimates or anything else I asked for. They constantly changed the prices of procedures & what is needed. They tell you something different each time you ask the same question. It’s just a horrible & unpredictable animal hospital. I wanted to like them so so much & tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but they let me down every time.

  • Christopher Davis

I just moved into the neighborhood and decided to check this place out since it’s within walking distance to my home. I made an appointment with Shanay and she was real nice. It was curbside check in due to coved-19. My dog Jerry Lewis was due for shots and an exam and because it was my 1st visit they waived the exam fee. Awesome! I showed up, they came out to get and took Jerry inside and the Vet called me and said he had a clean bill of health. 15 minutes later we were good to go. Thanks Island pet hospital. Definitely will be coming back.

  • Vance Gehlbach

They got us in when needed but we feel we were taken advantage of. The tech shot more medicine on her shoe than in our dogs mouth. We told her but she didn't seem concerned. We were given a choice on the level of services in which we picked but was sent home with a fecal kit along with the medicine. No need to check his stool after we started the medicine. They gave us no instructions on the administration of the medicine or food until we asked questions. We feel we were ripped off over $200 on services not needed.

  • James Hoffman

Since we have been going to Island Pet Hospital, we have found the staff to be very friendly, caring and professional. Our little Brandy has seasonal allergies and the medications that she was given has helped her tremendously. She has been boarded there a few times as well and has to have 3 different eye drops put in her dry eyes 3 times a day and she has never had a problem while there. We cannot say enough about the Dr.'s and the staff that work there.

  • Lindsay D.

Every employee I encountered from front desk, veterinarian to assistant were welcoming, caring and responsive to my concerns for my sick pet. I felt safe with their cleanliness and social distancing practices during this pandemic. My pet received excellent care for multiple illnesses as a recent rescue. They are conveniently located in the NW and were able to see my pet in quickly. I am happy with my experience and my pet's recovery thus far.

  • Hevin Robertson

The whole experience was fantastic! From the office staff to the vet tech to the vet himself, the whole staff was welcoming and caring about my cat’s health! The vet (Dr Sean McCluskey) took the time to explain what the issues could be, the course of action we could take (and what’s next if it didn’t work), and helped provide a few different ways to support my cat. Above all that, he made the experience really personal and was so friendly!

  • Jack Cutler

Update: I don't know what is going on at this place but after years of fantastic and genuine care for our pets, we find ourselves looking for new pet care providers. Unresponsive doc and the front desk team just didnt want to help. They give us the run around. Very disappointed. Best front desk staff and the Doc is fantastic. They are professional and respectful. The Doc removed a 2 pound fatty mass from my pit/lab mix. Best Doc ever.

  • Ana Turpin

We absolutely loved the pet Hospital. Their front desk staff is truly kind, helpful and delightful. The vet is incredible. I have never seen such enthusiasm, passion and love for what they do. I was dreading this visit because I didn't know what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised and now look forward to our future appointments. If you're in need of a vet for your furry family member, come here, I promise you will not regret it.

  • Jesse Basinski

This is a really great place to bring your pet. I've been taking my diabetic cat here for at least 4 years now, and he's doing great. Every appointment I've had with ANY of the vets here has been great, AND they have always worked with me on price when I've needed it. They care about your pet's health enough to work with you on price. Any bad experience that anyone may have had here is either exaggerated or VERY out of the ordinary.

  • Katie Bruno

This is the first vet I tried when moving here from California several years ago and I haven't been anywhere since. My dogs are like my children and Island Pet Hospital takes such good care of them. Dr. Watson has been there with us through everything with our black Labrador, from cancer masses to a torn Achilles tendon. All staff members are so pleasant and helpful. I would recommend this office to anyone and everyone with pets!

  • Kimberly Vaughan

I have been using the boarding facilities since i arrived here in Las Vegas, and the staff is so amazing. They make you feel really comfortable about leaving your "fur baby" in their care. And what is really outstanding to me is the cleanliness of the facility. I mean you would not believe how well it smells and the kennels are always clean when you take your pet in. Management and staff are doing an A+ job!!! Thanks All

  • Myan Anthony

I have just had my first visit here which was a last minute walk-in. They fit my dog in to be seen incredibly fast. All of the staff was wonderful and Dr. Boggs was great at explaining what potentially was going on with my dog and gave me a clear plan on what to do as a follow up treatment. The pricing seems reasonable for what was done(including medicine). I will be coming back in the future for anything my dog needs.

  • Sally Jane Burch

I've been taking my pets to Island Pet Hospital since 2006. Staff is always friendly. My vet is Dr. Goldman, and I recently found out he is no longer practicing at Island. Because my pets have been seeing him since 2006 I have chose to follow him to his new practice. My pets have seen Dr. Collins a few times when Dr. Goldman wasn't available, he was friendly and knowledgeable.

  • John Shikany

We got our little kitty 8 months ago and have now been to Island twice. Each time we had a different vet, I think they have 3 there. They were so nice and very concerned and it was obvious they knew what they were doing. We are fortunate this place is close to our home because we woldn't want to go elsewhere. I can't say enough positive things about Island Pet Hospital.

  • David Inoyue

The greatest pet hospital in city of Las Vegas!. I been so many and seems that? They don't care!. But the service over Island pet hospital are 100% the greatest!. Your pets will really don't want to go home with you!. It's like another home to them!. Hospitality Services are so the greatest in this kind business you never can find in Las Vegas or in Henderson.

  • Anantiquemoon Press

Great experience. We were looking for a new vert as we have moved as our current veterinary clinic was to far to travel to. The Vets at island pet hospital are very knowledgeable and compassionate about the care and health our furry friends. If I could give 10 star I would! Will definitely be back. I highly recommend this wonderful place:)

  • Connie Peterson

Our first time here. The staff was wonderful, even the customers talked how they have been coming for years and years. I am transferring my other 2 dogs to this vet. Not only close to home, they make you feel welcome. Have a seat in our lobby Dr will be right out. Have not had this in quite a while from the vet I had gone to 30+ years.

  • Cody Marie

Island Pet Hospital has taken care of my two cats for the last 13 years. Yesterday we had to say good-bye to one of them. The staff were incredibly understanding, helpful, and supportive. They answered all of my questions and gave me plenty of time to process the loss and say good-bye. They made a very difficult day easier to bear.

  • Allison Teso

I'm giving this office a 5 star rating because of Dr Sean McCluskey. He is the G.O.A.T. Its really hard to find medical professionals that actually care anymore and I can tell you that he 100% cares about his patients and what he does. Love this guy so much and we're so thankful to have found him! He makes this facility phenomenal.

  • denise Cortez

I took my cat Gizmo there back in November 2022. He had extreme weight loss. Ask the vet to do blood work. He said he was perfectly fine. I took him to another Vet. I put my Gizmo down yesterday. If the Vet would have done bloodwork like we ask my Gizmo would have still be here. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.

  • Zane

Waited for 45 min past my appt, asked reception when I would go back. Only then did she tell me the doctor isn’t in, and asked me to reschedule. I asked for my records to go to another vet (that values my time). She said she would send them, never did. It’s not like they were busy, NO ONE CAME before or after my appt time.

  • Nicole Burlew

We have been going to Dr. Garside for about 4 years now. She is a very good vet. We drive across the valley just to see her. Our 2 boys are seniors now and she takes amazing care of them. The staff are great too, always ready to answer questions and help any way they can. Definitely recommend taking your fur babies here.

  • Renee Boyd

Island Pet Hospital always goes above and beyond when taking care of our pets. They are friendly, welcoming, and full of information and recommendations. Even when they are not 100% quite sure what is going on with our babies, they do thorough work ups to rule out anything serious. I would never take our pets elsewhere!

  • Chef Rafaela Arte En Gelatina “3D Gelatin Art”

I really want to recommend this place totally amazing staff and the dr. On Monday 17 2023, I took my rescued cat that I adopted to this place to have the exam. The hospital honored the voucher form animal foundation without ask questions. More over Dr Kara make complete the exam of my cat and also my cat love her.

  • S. LOPEZ

They took awesome care of my furbaby ,both Teddy and I are very happy with the results,The booking process was super quick and easy and the lady who checked me in was friendly and helpful(Clarissa). I loved that the staff called the day after his Neutering surgery to check on him, thank youu so much DR.Mccluskey.

  • Sam Juntti

Switched to Island and I am glad I did. My 20+ year old cat needed dental surgery. Could no longer trust Ann Road Animal Hospital. Tried Island and Dr. Boggs is the best. Friendly staff, clean and fresh office. Free bottled water for you and your pets. This place will put your mind at ease. Thank you so much!

  • Jan Telles

I was actually really excited and happy with our first visit. Everyone was so nice and the doctor spent time with you. However, a month or so later my fur baby had an emergency and I was told they had no appointments available. Very sad to know that this nice vet could not work in my puppy’s emergent need.

  • Jenny Salgado

This was my first time going to this office to get my cockatiel's nails trimmed. I was able to get in fairly quickly from the time I called and when I went for my appointment, everyone I encountered was so friendly and they treated my baby bird with love. I will definitely be returning for my dogs care.

  • Nancy Webb

Caring, compassionate staff and excellent service! We have been going to Island Pet for 10 years - they have treated our cat since he was a kitten, and also our dog since he was a puppy. We have also used Island Pet to board both our pets. Again, excellent care and service. Highly recommended. Nancy W.

  • Te Ann Lakeotes

I love my vet! The whole staff is friendly and helpful. I like when I have to make decisions for my pet they answer any questions and let me know which procedures are necessary and which are not. They have been the most affordable vet I have been to in North Las Vegas. I appreciate everyone there.

  • James Dillon

Talented & caring veterinarians, techs and office staff. Amazing care for all of my dogs for over 20 years! I am so lucky I found Island Pet Hospital. If you want the best in veterinary services for your pets in the Northwest valley (Ann Rd. & US95N) I highly recommend Island Pet Hospital. Jim D.

  • John Rutherford

Excellent clinic and very positive and helpful staff. It's so nice to have my animals tended to at Island Pet Hospital without feeling like I am open check book. No unnecessary procedures, and everything is clearly explained before anything is done. I couldn't be happier with my experience.

  • Juliet Kennedy

These guys are just amazing! My cat was extremely sick, and they pulled him through after 2 days of emergency care treatment. I have continued to use them and could not be happier! Thank you so much for saving my kitty! Highly recommend anyone looking for a new vet to visit this business!

  • Shirl Roll

Tootsie and I both were extremely impressed with Dr. Rokos. He is sharing with information and the shot given for allergies worked almost instantly. This was a first visit and I will definitely return and would recommend to all. The office staff is friendly, helpful and professional.

  • J T

Amazing staff, just can't say enough good things here. Always accommodating, never tries to upsell us, and honestly care about our furry ones. Compassionate during those rough times when pet is sick or when you have to make that really hard choice. The best we've found in the valley.

  • Schuyler Pryne

Dr Hagewood took great care of my dogs for dental work, extractions were needed. I didn't realise that some places only have a technician doing the dental work. I really appreciate that the dr does the work at island pet. They have been great about regular apts and follow ups too.

  • Everett

Good vet. Price is about average. They make sure to ask questions and seem to care about your pet. I just came in for shots so you mileage may vary if you have something really wrong. I've seen other dogs that came in earlier visits and they seem to be treating them good though.

  • Lisa Coffey

My pets (four cats and a hamster) have been patients at Island since 2001. The doctors have always been gentle, excellent, well skilled, and personable. I have never considered going elsewhere and have recommended Island to several friends who have also been very pleased!

  • Hailey Peck

I've been going here for years. They treated my elderly dog for years before she passed. I now have been bringing my cat here for 3 years and couldn't be happier. They are so kind, caring, helpful, and affordable (which is a big plus as a single mom and college student).

  • Alpha Luerann Nash [Del Sol HS]

Wonderful place to take your loved pet. They were careful to limit patients/people in the building at any time. Staff was very friendly, helpful and courteous. Exam rooms were clean. Vet staff was so animal friendly- my dog went right with her! I highly recommend them.

  • Andria Jacobs

Dr. Collins took such good care of my daughter's cat. He was really sick and now is well and healthy. Thank you again to your wonderful front office. Dr. Collins and his staff also have taken care of our cats and we could not be more pleased with his care and kindness.

  • Jennifer Riske

Best experience I've ever had from front desk to nurses to vet. Awesome team! Dr Wedig is amazing! ADD ON TO THIS: From the front desk to the Veterinarians this office is incredible. My pup was neutered and they took excellent care of my Louie! Love this place!

  • Luci Fortune

I've been going here for years and love this office. The vets and office staff are super pleasant to work with, very empathetic when I had to have cats put down and they sent me a condolence card! I'm very happy with them and would recommend them to everyone.

  • Megan Steinbeck

It was great seeing an Aggie doc!! They still mandate masks to enter the building but the gas station across the parking lot has a big selection if you forgot yours. Everyone was delightful and they explained everything in great detail. Cant wait to come back

  • Curt Friedman

Everyone there is so nice, and you can just tell they enjoy what they do and they go out of their way to make your nervous let feel comfortable. It's comforting to know that your furry loved one will be well cared for if you do have a kennel your pet.

  • Angela Brown

Very caring doctors and staff. I loved that I was able to get my fur baby his shots & blood work done at the same time I needed to board him. That way it saved him some stress of having to be in the car several times. THANK YOU Island Pet Hospital!!!

  • Susan Gilliland

Dr Hagewood and staff are very professional and caring. Been going to them for about 5 years now and do not hesitate to contact them for questions or appointments for my goldens. Thank you for giving my fur babies the attention and support we need.

  • Nancy Webb

We have been going to Island Pet for over 12 years, with Dude, our first cat, and Toby, our dog, and now Boro, our new dog. Tofu our new cat, is now a patient. Love Island Pet. The staff is excellent for boarding as well. HIghly recommended.

  • Carlos Justin (C3p-LOS)

Been taking my pups there for years. They are always very professional, helpful, compassionate and help brainstorm ideas for the best reasonable and cost conscious care available. My pets are my children and IPH treats them like family.

  • Tova Nash-Brown

I love the staff at Island Pet Hospital!!! They are the only ones that can handle shaving my cat, Pepper, without her having to be sedated!!!! Bravo!!!! And a big for Ms. Shenae, she’s always polite, friendly, and helpful …

  • Mona Willer

Great service, friendly staff and the vets are truly caring and compassionate. They treated my 20# + kitty with kindness and a real concern for his health. He has a heart murmur and they referred me to an excellent cardiologist .

First time here. It's the new normal (Corvid-19) time in 2020 and the staff was great. They were good to my pup and to me. They were thorough with answering all my requests and concerns. I think we found my pups new clinic!!

Island Pet Hospital truly, absolutely, cares about animals. I know my pup is in the best care! They are a PET hospital with specialized veterinarians and knowledgeable staff, so I will not take my dog anywhere else.

  • Patricia Winkle

I called looking for a vet and inquired about the facility. We were referred by 2 people. Excellent phone service but long hold periods while they were checking in and out clients. We have an upcoming appointment.

  • Ryan Scheidt

The staff was incredible and they treated our little guy like gold! The doctor was understanding about being on a budget and offered multiple options in order to ensure that our pet got what he needed.

  • D Jackson

Great spot to take your pets. The staff is always friendly & professional & now they let you into their waiting room. Almost back to normal, but you can't go w/your pret into the exam rooms yet.

  • Ellen Schaffner

If you're animal is sick or just needs a check up, these people are kind attentive and caring. I needed to bring my dog in suddenly and they fit me in the within 20 minutes. I highly recommend.

  • Olivia Bensan Nebres

The doctors and staff are patient and friendly. We did not wait long because we made an appt. They take walk ins but may take a little longer to see the doctor. Accommodating and knowledgeable
