It's a long review, but I wanted people to see in detail my good experience with this company. My water heater stopped producing hot water. Tried to reset the pilot light, called 800 number on the water heater (which was Rheem) and they tried to trouble shoot it. They diagnosed it as two possible causes and would replace the parts but not the labor. I consider myself a fairly good DIY'er by watching YouTube, and the work seemed pretty easy, but I thought this work was best to be done by a pro. Rheem directed me to their authorized technicians list (found on their website) and I called about 5 on the list and a few other plumbers I found on Yelp and Google. JR Plumbing and Backflow was on the Rheem Water Heater recommended technicians list and I'm so glad I found them! With plumbing, pricing variances are so vast to do the same work, but JR Plumbing was most reasonable for the work that needed to be done. Communication from the company was professional, prompt, and accommodating. John, the owner and tech, arrived on time and what impressed me was his knowledge and how respectful he was of my home and the work area. It was the small things like taking shoes off in the house without me having to ask, carrying his shoes to the basement and then putting them back on, promptly cleaning up the area, and walking me through the issues. The part Rheem sent was defective, but he said he would call them and have them overnight the new part to my home and he'd come back out. He took care of everything. All I had to do was call them once I got the part, which I did the following day. Upon receipt, he came out, installed it, and we've got hot water. I now have JR Plumbing in my contact list should I need any future needs. This is an A+ company!

Run don't walk away from this company. If I could give -10 stars I would. The plumbing they installed was completely inoperable (see picture below) and had to be ripped out and replaced. We also had to have a structural engineer review ceiling beams that were cut up (again, see the pic with holes around the pipes all the way through the beams). The cuts required frame supports to be installed to shore it up. The owner gave me the run around when I tried to discuss and recover my costs of repairing the damage. He ghosted me when we arranged to meet to go over the costs and next steps. Later he agreed to a rough settlement via text which I allowed him to spread over time but then never sent me docs he promised though he assured me they were on the way. He then stopped responding to my texts inquiring about the docs and our agreement. I normally don't give reviews but in my opinion he is a very deceptive and bad person that should be avoided. My costs have exceeded $10,000.

Horrible company. Stay away. Some of the positive reviews are from the people in their office. I wished I had read other reviews on Google before selecting them. They argue with their customers on their reviews. Which again is a huge red flag.. they mess up and then blame it on the customer .. Not only the workmanship is poor, the entire dealing with this company is worse. The owner John is deceptive and full of false promises. Never shows up and would keep making false promises. They charged an extra $1,500 and when asked for refund, they kept on making stories. They also installed a cheaper version on water heater and didn’t inform me, 2 months later when they stopped responding, the manufacturer mentioned to me that the unit that is installed is not what I ordered. John also left the prior water heater line gas line uncapped!! It’s a huge safety hazard. Stay away from this company.. ideally their plumbing license and business license should be taken away..

These guys are great. I had Roto-Rooter do some work before, and I think I got ripped off. But NOT J.R. Plumbing! Their prices for a water heater install were totally reasonable, along with doing the work to install another hose spigot on the outside of our house. I'm an engineer, and I really appreciated the fact that J.R. knew what he was talking about. They are a Rheem dealer and know all about the fancy new high efficiency heat-pump water heaters. If you want a real *upgrade* to your water heater then you need to call someone like J.R. that has dealt with this stuff before. I totally recommend them and now I can say that I "have a plumber" that I can call whenever I need them! Thanks!

They worked on our pipes about 1 year ago. They came out in a timely manner, and seemed to do a good job. (The Sheetrock contractor they recommended was horrendous). Fast forward to current time, we had another leak. Our normal handyman was able to come out. We found: 1. He cut out much more Sheetrock than was necessary, costing much more than necessary on that repair. 2. The repair itself was extremely poorly done. 3. Everywhere he tied new pipes to old pipes was leaking. We now have mold issues. DO NOT call this company. They’re good on the surface but the repairs don’t last.

The plumber was highly unprofessional, repeatedly missed appointments, and caused a dangerous gas leak. We smelled gas outside and discovered that he hadn't properly connected the hose and the gas line. Just stuck them together. You could pull them apart with your hands. Additionally, his attempts to fix a toilet clog were unsuccessful. He invoiced us with fluctuating fees that he changed the reasons for over course of 3 weeks, totaling an extra $300. He sent a demand letter and threatened to sue us so we ended up paying the invoice to just be done with this awful company.

I had three appointments scheduled with JR Plumbing and Backflow, but at none of these times did the plumber show up. The first time, they called during the appointment time to reschedule for the next morning. That would be fine, but the next morning they didn't come or call. After that second no show, I called to reschedule for the week afterwards. Again, a no show. Not recommended, and not reliable.

Intially used JR Plumbing to unclog a pipe which they were able to come out the next day and fix it. I was very happy with their service. The techs were friendly. I would recommend them for drain clogs and things like that. I decided to use them for a bathroom remodel that I was having done. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend them for doing any type of work for something like a bathroom remodel.

J.R. Plumbing came to diagnose the horrible plumbing job that was done under our kitchen sink and immediately recognized what needed to be done. He got approval from our management company and came back quickly to get it repaired. He did a great job and no more water leaks! I’d definitely recommend him to anyone who wants the job done correctly the first time.

Never hire this company, they are horrible. They canceled at the last minute, didn't explain the extra charge, and the manager was EXTREMELY RUDE to my wife on the phone. I don't care if they have done some good job in the past. That does not explain the lack of professionalism in treating their clients. RUN from this company!

This contractor was hired and sent out as apart of a warranty claim. The tech was very rude and unprofessional as well as delayed in arriving. I'm out of a service fee as a result of their poor evaluation and reporting and they refuse to reevaluate. And then want to estimate $180 for a $25 fridge line!! Rip off!!!

Can't begin to tell you how poor of service this firm provides. Cancel scheduled appointments (3) without calling. 4 trips to repair a lead they caused. Then wanted more money to come back one more time to fix their mistake! Save yourself the headache and call Marine Plumbing Service they know what hey are doing.

So far so good!! Good value, responsive , on time and Jack my service repairman was very professional and educated me on how to better maintain the life of my hot water tank and most of all how I can get my service fee back from Rheem!! Happy, Happy! If the work holds up will definately use them again.

I am truly impressed with JR Plumbing. Rarely do I ever post anything about a company. If you have plumbing issues, please contact them. They are extremely professional and knowledgeable. I am satisfied and will be using them again soon for updates.

John arrived early, immediately located, and identified the source of the leak. Additionally, he took the time to show me where and why the leak happened. He left with everything fixed and a very grateful customer. Highly recommend their service.

I was very pleased with how quickly the company responded, especially since it was 2 days before New Year's Eve. They handled my outside broken pipe extremely well and quickly, along with pricing. I also appreciated their well-mannered approach.
