Embarking on a delightful culinary journey, I recently had the pleasure of dining at Joey’s restaurant in Ottawa. Our visit took place on a sunny Tuesday afternoon, just before the evening rush, and from the moment we stepped inside, we knew we were in for something special. Welcomed with genuine smiles and impeccable service, our experience at Joey’s began on a high note. As if the warm reception wasn’t enough, we were pleasantly surprised to be treated to a complimentary glass of Prosecco before even being seated. It was a lovely gesture that instantly made us feel like valued guests. With our glasses in hand, we eagerly made our way to a cozy booth, immersing ourselves in the vibrant and lively atmosphere that filled the restaurant. The ambiance at Joey’s was contagious, with an energetic vibe and a sense of camaraderie among the staff and patrons alike. Laughter and conversations intertwined, creating an atmosphere that was both lively and inviting. It was evident that this was a place where people came not just for the exceptional food but also for the overall experience. As we perused the menu, our anticipation grew, and we eventually settled on the chicken burger and the hand-pressed beef burger. Little did we know that these choices would prove to be the highlights of our dining experience. The chicken burger was an absolute revelation. Juicy, tender, and bursting with flavor, each bite was a culinary masterpiece. The combination of succulent chicken, thoughtfully chosen toppings, and a perfectly toasted bun was a true symphony of taste. I found myself savoring every morsel, fully captivated by the sheer deliciousness of this dish. It’s safe to say that the chicken burger at Joey’s has earned its place in my personal hall of fame. Equally impressive was the hand-pressed beef burger. Crafted with care and expertise, each patty showcased the quality of the ingredients and the mastery of the culinary team. The beef was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection, resulting in a burger that was juicy, flavorful, and undeniably satisfying. Accompanied by a medley of fresh toppings, it was a classic reinvented with finesse. No burger experience is complete without the perfect sidekick, and Joey’s fries did not disappoint. Delightfully thin, crispy, and piping hot, they were a revelation in their own right. Each fry boasted a satisfying crunch, revealing a fluffy interior that practically melted in my mouth. It was clear that these fries were made with care, ensuring that each bite was a testament to their quality. Amidst the gastronomic delights, our server stood out as a shining star. Their warmth, attentiveness, and genuine friendliness added an extra layer of enjoyment to our dining experience. From offering recommendations to ensuring our glasses were never empty, they went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and well-cared for. The exceptional service further exemplified the commitment to excellence that Joey’s prides itself on. Conveniently located and attached to the Rideau Centre, Joey’s offers a welcome respite for weary shoppers and hungry visitors alike. Whether you’re seeking a delightful meal during a shopping excursion or a place to unwind and savor the flavors of Ottawa, Joey’s is a perfect choice. Its prime location makes it easily accessible, ensuring that a satisfying culinary experience is just a stone’s throw away.

Visiting from out of town. When we arrive the atmosphere seemed wonderful. We were offered sparkling wine by the hostess, she had a nice conversation with us on our way to our seat. She was lovely. Once seated out server Tito was very inattentive! It took over an hour to receive our drinks and appetizers. We made Tito aware of a cucumber allergy, when ordering. Our app came with a taziki center (which we missed in the menu). When I made Tito aware he told me there was no cucumber, and I showed him the cucumber in the taziki sauce. He left and came back stating there was no cucumber, I again showed him. He said he would check, came back and told me he would bring the other app I ordered when I discovered the cucumber. We then had another friend join us, she was not offered the sparkling wine when she came in, and was hardly greeted. It then took an extremely long time for our waiter to come back to get our meal order. Our meal came quickly and was delivered by a really nice waitress. Our waiter never came back to check on our meals or drinks, he walked passed us server times, seemingly looking right through us. We had to ask another waitress for more water. During our meal, the table beside us cancelled their coffee order because Tito forgot, and they asked another server for the bill. When we were finished eating, we requested two boxes. He forgot several times and when he remembered he only brought one. We had to wait for a second and the bills. When we were paying for the bills, another table beside us was complaining they haven't seen their server (who was Tito). Overall the food was absolutely fantastic, but Tito's service was extremely poor and lacking!

Joey is a popular restaurant in Ottawa that offers a unique dining experience with its impressive menu, attentive service and elegant ambiance. From the moment you enter the restaurant, you are welcomed with a glass of bubbles as a courtesy, setting the tone for a wonderful dining experience. One standout feature of Joey is its excellent service. The waiter was a really nice guy who was very knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations. He was attentive without being intrusive, which added to the overall relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere of the restaurant. But the real star of the show at Joey is the food. The steak, in particular, is absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection and served with flavorful sauces and sides. The menu also features a variety of other dishes, including seafood, salads, and appetizers that are well-prepared and creatively presented. The ambiance at Joey is also noteworthy, with a modern and stylish decor that creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant is spacious and comfortable, making it an ideal choice for a romantic dinner or a special occasion. Overall, if you're looking for a top-notch steak restaurant in Ottawa with excellent service and delicious food, Joey is definitely worth a visit. The complimentary glass of bubbles at the entrance is just the beginning of a memorable dining experience.

Update 2: redemption stories are the best stories. My email went to the manager’s junk folder (yay, Gmail?) so we are now in the process of sorting it out. Moral of this short story: always check your takeout before leaving, and let places know when they’ve made a mistake so they have a chance to fix it. Especially when it’s $8+ of avocado. Update: I emailed the manager who responded to this review. That was 27 July. It’s now 5 August and I’ve heard nothing back. Seems like complaints go into the ether and that’s the end of it; if you can judge a company by how it manages negative feedback, Joey has failed. I have zero desire to return and even less reason to recommend it to anyone, so a one star review it is. ——— Disappointed with the Rideau team all around. I ordered takeout of the Guac appetizer and two tuna poke bowls, paying an extra $4 each for avocado; total bill with tip was above $100. We walked the 20 mins home and opened the takeout bag: the poke containers said “add avocado” and…there was none. Thinking it was a simple mistake (and knowing the restaurant was busy—they simply weren’t answering the phones) I sent an online message to Joey, since it specified “we read and respond to every message”. That was ten days ago. The food is usually great. Too bad I didn’t get what I ordered and nobody at Joey seems to care.

What a wonderful culinary experience!! You must try this restaurant, the kitchen brigade is so cool!! Like Chef Ramsey would be impressed!! Everything tasted like it was made from scratch, everything was tasty and fresh!! The staff is also amazing, they are welcoming, friendly, attentive, and do such a great job to make sure you have a great time at Joey!! The food is fantastic, we had the Hummus Tzatziki platter as a starter. I’ve visited Beirut and Athena in the past, and let me tell you, they stick to the main original ingredients and add some modern twist to it which made it so delicious. Hummus with tahini, dash of lemon juice, extra virgin olive oil, cumin yuuuuummm was so goood and the tzatziki tasted like I was in Greece, I believe it to have greek yogourt, sour cream, garlic, cucumbers omg was so good!! The pitas slices were so crunchy and seasoned and made the platter taste even better. The mains were butter chicken which tasted heavenly to my palate, it reminded me of this original Indian restaurant I usually go to. The naan was very tasty and was fun to eat legit Indian food there The salmon platter was enjoyed with her Super Nova Cocktail. Desert was yummy warm puffy dough with a river of mascarpone coulis omg. Wonderful experience!! Ottawa got better thanks to this restaurant

I went to JOEY Rideau for my birthday lunch with my family and was very disappointed. First off the service we received was terrible. Though the waiter was nice enough she was complete;y out of sorts. We first watched our appetizer being brought around the entire restaurant as the servers were clueless as to whose food it was. Then the food proceeded to be put back under the heat lamp and sit there for at least 10 minutes before being brought to our table. Then we were questioned by our own server if we even ordered the appetizer in which did. Similarly this happened with our main courses. They sat for at least 15 minutes under the heat lamp, then was brought to the wrong table and proceeded to hand strangers our plates of food. They then realized it was not their food and walked around aimlessly not knowing where the food was supposed to go. We then called out to them asking if it was our food and that's when they brought our now cold food to the table. I am extremely disappointed especially considering the restaurant was maybe at 40% capacity (they were not busy). My family, hoping to have dessert and sing happy birthday to me prior to the visit, now just wanted to leave as they environment did nothing but make us annoyed and ruptured this joyous occasion.

A 10/10 restaurant for me. Let’s start with what I ordered for drinks : - Spicy Passionfruit Margarita - Real Peach Bellini - Hurricane Crush All of the above were cocktails and really great but my personal favorite was Real Peach Bellini I had visited Joey’s twice, for dinner and the next day for lunch. At lunch I ordered a Peach Bellini but unfortunately their ice machine was broken. The food we ordered : - Hummus - Truffle Parmesan Fries - Spaghetti Pomodoro Everything was vegetarian and tasted really great. We went back for the Truffle Parmesan Fries . The hummus had all the flavors intact with *tzatziki in the middle which came with crispy pita . *Tzatziki - It is made of salted strained yogurt or diluted yogurt mixed with cucumbers, garlic, salt, olive oil, sometimes with vinegar or lemon juice, and herbs such as dill, mint, parsley and thyme. The spaghetti was super creamy and delicious. The restaurant also gave free bubbles on our way in as a gesture to thank their guests for choosing JOEY. Our host Jia ( not sure how it’s spelled ) was the sweetest and a really kind host I’ve come across till now. My overall experience was amazing and highly recommended. They have a separate happy hour section of food and drink items as well.

I highly recommend Joey Rideau for a nice evening out for drinks and good eats it’s a little pricey but worth it. We booked a reservation although you do not need one. The food was amazing, the server was very attentive but not intrusive. We were offered a complimentary glass of sparkling wine while we were escorted to our table. The music was good and not so loud you can’t have a conversation. It was pretty busy but that's to be expected at a good restaurant. The Decor was beautiful and I love that you can see the whole kitchen from the restaurant. I had the Steak Frites and they were amazing my niece had the chicken Parmesan and she said it was so good. The portions are not too big which is great because I actually ordered desert to go so I could have a nice sweet treat when I got home. I ordered the Creme brûlée cheesecake (so yummy) the Drinks are a tad pricey but you can tell the mixologist really loves his job. They also have a location at Landsdowne we will be checking that one out too. If you haven’t already had a chance to check it out YOU really must

Horrible service! We waited for at least 10 min until a server comes. I asked for an upsize and the server confirmed that was a right order when it came. I further question her if she is sure and why is it the same size of the spring roll. She then said I will check with the kitchen. Clearly to me that she checked her tablet, she can see it was a mistake. She then said I will talk to the kitchen. I was like, seriously you can't tell a 7oz vs 11 oz and the cut is different?! She came back and said yes, it was her mistake (with no apologies) and she took the plate away. She said that is their protocol that u r only paying for one so you are not having two. I asked why as it is going to the garbage. She emphasized on restaurant protocol even though that was her mistake. 10 min later again, a manager came and asked if I want the steak that they took away back. I was like seriously, u brought back the steak that it was going to compose back to me and offered if I want it back. I am sure I will not come back ever. Horrible experience.

Been coming to this location for years and was so disappointed with both food and the service. Waited 20 minutes for a server to come to our table after being seated and the restaurant was not busy. After we got our waters we were never offered a refill and after taking our order we never saw our waitress again until we finished our meals and asked for the check. We had our entire meal with empty glasses hoping the waitress would return and she never did. Also, we were not offered champagne when other guests were as they were seated. ALL of the dishes came to the table lukewarm at best. fries were cold, pasta was cold, etc. The pomodaro was my favorite dish and it was mediocre at best. Then when we get the bill and the machine has audacity to ask for 18, 20, or 22% tip!!! Felt pressured to tip more when given the service I wouldn’t even have tipped 15%. Last time we came the service was bad as well such a shame it’s gone down hill when Joey’s is usually known for their service will not be coming back again to this location.

Over the weekend, my fiancé, baby, and I enjoyed a meal at Joey Rideau. Our experience was amazing from start to finish. We were met with complimentary sparkling wine upon arrival, which is new since I've been here, and a nice added touch! Additionally, I just want to say that Brandon is an absolutely phenomenal server. We were having an issue with our baby's booster seat and could not figure it out (it was a little complicated). When we asked Brandon for help, he went above and beyond to try to figure out how to fix it, so our baby could be secured safely in her chair. As a mom and dad and guests at Joey Rideau, it was truly meaningful to us that Brandon took such care in prioritizing our baby's safety and went above and beyond to ensure a delightful experience for our family at Joey Rideau. The food was delicious and cooked to perfection. My favourite place to eat when in Ottawa-- you will not be disappointed!

They have quite a loud atmosphere because they are so busy, especially around dinner time - but the food is absolutely delicious and is very presentable. I thoroughly enjoy their steak and salmon dishes, which are immaculate. They cater to most, if not all, dietary restrictions and/or allergies. The server was very thorough and checked with the kitchen to double check for any allergens - which was very much appreciated. I love their food and although service is a bit slower than most places, it is understandable considering the amount of people that are being catered to - it is a very busy place for a reason, that being, the amazing selection of foods and the great selection of drinks.

Love this place but recently had an issue with an allergy that wasn’t taken seriously. Marked I’m celiac gluten free when ordering online (which I’ve done many times) chose from their gluten wise menu where they clearly mark their crispy potatoes will be replaced for regular mash due to the crispy ones being deep fried with other items. Normally never had an issue and the food is delicious. This time I received fries instead of the usual mashed potatoes. I called to ask about how they are fried and was told they are fried with everything else so are therefore not gluten free. This is a serious allergy and if I hadn’t called wouldn’t have known as they put the allergy sticker on the food. I’ve very disappointed and feel unsure about ordering here again. I think it’s important to really train staff properly on allergies as some people with a gluten allergy and it can be anaphylactic and not just make you severely ill.

LEAH tried to make us cancel our booking. I needed to book a table for 7 on New Year’s Eve. The booking app only allow for a max of 6. So I booked one for 6 and one for 1, a month in advance and I tried calling them 5 times over the month to merge them into a table of 7. I did the same thing for other restaurants around the same dates, which had went smoothly. I get a call a day before, asking me if they really want me to keep the booking, since they can’t add an extra chair, all their 7 slots are booked, and when we didn’t want to give up our table, kind of bullied us into saying that they can’t promise the tables together and we would have to leave the table in one and a half hours. I don’t think we would have overstayed that time but I didn’t like the tactics they used. We have been patrons of Joeys for a while now, and I wasn’t expecting this kind of service.

The food and service are awesome! Would recommend any of their steak, seafood, burger or cocktail options. Friendly servers. Love the open kitchen concept- gives off Master Chef kitchen vibes. Nice music and a complementary drink is offered when you arrive. It gets crowded so best to make reservations. Nice place to go for a date night or celebrate a birthday!

Order was ready way before 30 minutes eta for order pick up. Food seems good but didn’t eat yet because I’m big on reviews. No receipt was given when charged. Picked up a big order and Had to ask for the receipt. No napkins or cutlery was provided. I guess I could have asked for that, so, my bad. Ordered two house salads (not cheap) and didn’t get any dressings for either. Ordered impossible burger +veggie burger+ 2 house salads+ 2 corn guacamole+ fried cauliflower and truffle fries. (Got the dip for that order, so thanks) Good packaging and labeling tho and Thanks for spelling my name right! :)

Joey, specifically the Rideau location, is hands-down one of my favourite restaurants in Ottawa. Whether it's a date or enjoying drinks with friends, I always have a great experience. The staff's friendly and fun vibe adds to the positive atmosphere. The music complements the experience, and the restaurant's aesthetics are beautiful, moody, and on trend. The food impresses with fantastic taste and presentation. While the drinks are consistently on point, I'd love to see the classic and favourite drink, Frozen Rosè, make a comeback. The overall experience leaves you feeling welcome, trendy, and fabulous. Even the occasional street-side entertainment adds to the charm of dining in downtown.

Extremely slow service. Came here for a later dinner 10:30 pm on a Saturday. It wasn’t extremely busy and we waited 15 minutes to get a table. Although I enjoyed the Steak and ravioli, and the ‘she pretty’ drink, it took 45 minutes for it to be served. Finally we were crazy enough to order a dessert as well, not knowing it would take another 30+ minutes. I just wanted to go home so bad, because I was tired from a long day. As I was looking around, everyone in the other booths just seemed to be waiting as well. There was no one continuously serving the tables. Finally the server came by and we asked if the dessert was ready, because we really wanted to leave. It turned out to be ready and we took it to go. No compensation/ apology from the server for the long wait.

Very bad experience, I was there with my sister and a friend. The service was so slow it was horrible. Then when our food arrived, my sister noticed that her meat had a strange smell, at the time I didn't take her seriously. A little later she made my friend and I smell her meat and it had a terrible smell, as if it had spoiled. We then spoke to a manager who just looked down on us. She left with the plate without any apology. We paid for our meals in full, but we won't be going back again. The manager's attitude was really out of place, as we received no apology and then for the rest of the time we spent in this restaurant after the incident, we saw her badmouthing us.it was a really uncomfortable situation.

Trendy spot for dinner in Ottawa! The menu has a good variety of food with unique touches on each dish. Overall, the food was good and I was impressed by the presentation of my dishes. I ordered the steak frites cooked medium well but unfortunately I feel the steak came out more on the well side so it was a bit dry and tough to eat. However they did come around to ask if the steak was cooked well (I said yes because I didn’t want to send it back). In addition, I felt as thought the greens my dish came with were on the saltier side. The fries were great though. The decor is really cute and gives an upscale trendy feel to it. They staff was friendly and our waitress was nice. Price ranges from type of entree (anywhere from $25 - $30+).

I went to Joey’s for the first time on Sunday, I had two different mocktails and they were both so good, also got the truffle fries and the roasted corn guacamole and loved both, my husband got the spicy tuna sushi and he was pretty happy with it HOWEVER I got the steak frites, chose the New York for that and unfortunately it was so hard I almost couldn’t eat it, at first it was a bit more raw than I expected (ordered medium) so they kindly took it back and cook it a bit more, however when it came back it was still so hard it was not chewable, I don’t know if this is because it was the happy hour meal or I just got a bad piece of meat but it was unfortunate. I am reviewing 4 stars because everything else was really good and out waitress was so nice, I’ll definitely be back but won’t get the New York for sure.

We stopped by for lunch on a Friday. For starters we ordered: Hummus- very fresh and delicious Guacamole- very tasty and fresh Szechuan Chicken lattuce wrap -nice starter full of flavor Mains: Hamburger - nice burger, jucy Huntsman sandwich - not our favorite, has very distinct beef taste that is not for everyone,we ordered 2 and asked to cancel one,the staff were super nice to cancel one of them from the bill Also ordered 2 cocktails that were very pretty and tasty. The restaurant itself has a beautiful open floor kitchen and bar . The ambiance is great. The staff are very nice and the service is quick. I would definitely recommend stopping by if you are in the area:)

We decided to go to Joey for our light lunch amongst the three of us, the servers took a bit of time to come take our order but nonetheless it was a great experience. We ordered their house salad that was shockingly filling and delicious with a bit of nuts and raisins for some extra crunch and sweetness. We also ordered the sliders that came in threes for our starter, quite juicy and flavourful too! To end off, we got the sushi steak, with 6 pieces of sushi that we split perfectly. Sushi was alright but the steak was a surprise, a delicious one to say the least. For drinks I got the espresso martini which was quite mild but still good, and the Moscow mule was as refreshing as it should be! Overall great restaurant with a great vibe ! Fun stuff to watch on the TV too.

Food is delicious, although on the salty side! Service is attentive (if not a trifle too much at times)! Service staff and manager could probably coordinate a little as we had a number of staff popping by in a short span of time to check on us which felt slightly intrusive. Having siad that, the thought is definitely appreciated! OUR ORDERS Curry Butter Tofu is divine (tho again, a little too much salt). My hubby had the Fried Chicken Sandwich which was very good too. For starters, we had the Pork Gyoza and Seared Salmon Sushi which were great. The Appie Pie (with Maple Ice-Cream) was so so yummy. RECOMMENDATION Would come again but note to the server to ask the kitchen to be less heavy-handed with the salt.

We avoid unhealthy carbs during the week. After waiting for 30 mins to get a table, we browsed through the options, and all the plates either had rice or potato as sides... mash potatoes are in 75% of their plates. For a restaurant at this price tag, I expect to see other sides as well like broccoli, beans, brussel sprouts, cauliflower, etc. My husband and I chose 2 plates to share (one chicken with some warm salad, and a stake with asparagus and a salad). Mine came without the chicken (I called the waitress and she got me the chicken 5 mins later). The food had a good flavour but not as good as we were expecting. I would love to see a greater variety in sides!

i have gone there with my friend who is vegetarian and she loved the vegetarian option they had.

  • JS Email

The customer service was great & I loved that we came at a time when they were offering complimentary sparkling wine. My friend loved the Mediterranean salad but my butterchicken tasted like tomato sauce, the meal did not have an authentic butterchicken flavor. I had to drown the dish in hotsauce to escape the tomato flavor. This easily could've been a 5 star review but, although I enjoyed so much about this place like the warm well seasoned Naan bread, complimentary hot sauce & wine, my meal the purpose of the visit was still lacking. I however will return sometime soon hopefully for a five star meal, because the atmosphere customer service & sides were top notch.

I went on a Tuesday evening. When we entered, we were told we would have to wait and add ourselves to the waiting list. We waiter 34 minutes and finally got a seat. The waitress gave a very good service. She was very friendly and caring. I had ordered a second meal and advised her I was in a rush and she made sure that I would be able to leave on time and be able to eat my meal as well. The food was delicious. I took the filet mignon with the lobster+pawns ravioli with the truffle butter. I also tried the wings which were good with the blue cheese sauce. The California chicken burger was good too. The drinks were ok. The portions of the food were very small too for the price.

It's a good go-to when deciding when you want something simple with a classier ambiance. The setting is welcoming and has some nice date coziness. The drinks are good, I liked the slushy part of my gin tonic which I wouldn't think to like. It somehow gives it a more subtle and sweeter taste, would recommend. Went for happy hours and all my sharing plates were of a perfect size and the price was very reasonable. The waiting staff was super friendly and even adjusted to French when she heard us speak French. She was always on time for the service, it made the difference. The food is not phenomenal, but it's good. I found the gyoza to be a bit bland, for me the parmesan fries stole the show. The sliders were also good.

My 3rd time eating here, I like to try out when I'm in town visiting. It's such a beautiful, spacious place. They offered us complimentary bubbly Italian wine, which was really good. Bathrooms are clean & private, separate rooms with sinks. I wasn't a fan with the sangria drink, tasted like juice, but when we tried the other cocktails, they were nice and strong. I had the amaretto sour, and my friends tried different cocktails on the menu, which were pretty nice & strong. I highly recommend trying this place.

Good restaurant, but I hate being thrown out of a restaurant because we stayed 3 hours and they took reservations for other people. Putting money before customer ruined the experience and I hated being thrown out. Bad feeling at the end of the evening while payong a lot. This should not happen and it is greedy and spoils the night. If you go there, prepare for it. Somewhat slow service.

The team at JOEY Rideau is warm and welcoming! Tynan truly goes above and beyond every visit. I can always count on a fabulous dining experience when I'm under his care. Additionally, Anna has a great selection of cocktails and food pairings! Her timing for drinks and food was spot on, and she made the whole experience seamless.

Such a great choice in downtown Ottawa. The atmosphere is upscale but chill. The food is good and there are options for vegan and gluten free, and budget options too. Someone tried the chips and guacamole tonight and it was the best I’ve ever had. The service is incredible. We had Kemeal and he was funny, always at our table when needed, and really kind to everyone in the group. He was so flexible when we had a few extra people join us too! We’ll be back!

I was out with my wife for a show at the NAC. From start to finish, we had an excellent time. We had reservations and were seated immediately by your friendly front staff. We had an excellent server, Ray, who was engaging and made excellent recommendations. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. It was a bit noisy but that is the price you pay for a popular resturant in a good location. We will be back and asking for Ray again.

Wow absolutely amazing experience. Great atmosphere, great staff, and great food and drinks. A bit on the expensive side but well worth it. Did the steak and sushi and the steak was cooked beautifully and just melted in your mouth, and the sushi was super fresh and tasted great too. They have a really nice cocktail menu as well and a pretty good beer selection. Would definitely recommend for a nice dinner out in Ottawa.

Ordered delivery for the first time and food was good. Although it took almost two hours from placing to receiving the order. They missed tuna on two pieces of sushi...sad face. One of the order's container was left almost half full. Really suggest to and consider to be more thoughtful in packaging(could've just place sides in the empty slot and gave ginger etc.). Had a one-time dine in before and the food was decent. However, the service was terrible. When entering, no one was available to welcome or get seated at, waitress was unprofessional and sat on a chair while taking our order.

  • Timjoe M

Fabulous restaurant, service and food second to none. Would recommend you bring your own napkins unless you want your hands and face to be exfoliated. Only puzzling part of this place is how could they be so good at everything and then provide a napkin that is not only non-absorbent, but is closer to sandpaper than it actually is a paper product. Should be an easy fix. There’s a dollar store around the corner.

We had a lovely dinner date. We got complimentary Italian sparkling wine to start. We shared the Yellowfin Tuna Salad and Tuna & Avocado Roll as appetizers (though just one appetizer would have been plenty). We tried the Ravioli Bianco and Filet Mignon with Peppercorn sauce, which were both delicious. Rebecca and Nick really elevated our experience with their excellent service.

Food was delicious. Server was absent and forgetful. Waited forever for a drink, meal was delivered but had no cutlery, didn’t check in on us regarding food drinks or water. My party asked for boxes for their food and he eventually came back with one. Couldn’t locate him for the bill. The table beside us complained that they ordered coffees that never came and they left. Not a positive experience unfortunately because the food was excellent.

I was there yesterday and the service was super slow. Then the food arrived 2 hours later and my meat was totally spoiled. I spoke to a manager and all she could say was that the meat had a normal smell, as if to say that I was a liar. She then left without apology and continued to tell the story to the staff in her department, looking down on us. Then we waited 40 minutes for the bill.I paid for my steak but I'm never going back.Very bad experience!!!!!!!

Had the Truffle Parmesan Fries and the Peanut Prawn Curry while my son had the spagetti with white sauce. The fries were just ok. The curry had a sharpness to it that surprised me at first while the prawns were cooked just right. Overall i liked the dish but would prefer less salt and not so watery sauce. My 5 year old son loved his spagetti. The service was quite good, very attentive, very quick.

Love it. Have been looking for an experience like Cactus Club in Ottawa for a long time. I always eat at Cactus Club at least once while I go out west to BC and Alberta. I didn’t realize Joey was owned by the same company. The food, theme, and vibe are all the same. Will definitely be going much more often. Hopefully on a monthly basis. Also, for the management, Ryan was a great host

The food here is great ! I had the butter chicken with Korean bbq cauliflower and truffle fries to begin. All were amazing. Others in my party tried chicken Parmesan, roast beef sandwich, ribs, and tuna poke bowl. All said it was amazing ! The servers are extremely friendly and work together great as other servers were checking on us regularly when our server was busy. It is fancier dining so a bit pricey, but worth it if you’re looking for a great meal and not worried about prices. Definitely recommend

What a great place! Probably the best restaurant / ambiance in Byward market. Our waiter greated us with a glass a champagne and asked us if we were celebrating a special occasion. When we seated, waiter was super friendly and we went with his recommendation of sushi and steak and blacken chicken. We told him we are going to share and he told us he could divide the chicken in 2 plates so that it's easier to eat. The food was amazing :) We really loved this place and recommend to anybody passing by

Great atmosphere. Great food. Great bar. Joey’s has the entire recipe for a great time. The Joey Classic Steak offers a choice of meat. The Filet Mignon was tender and tasty from start to end. It comes with the signature mash disguised as a crispy fried spring roll and simply cannot be missed. There is a short selection of wines by the glass with the Louis M. Martini Cabernet a clean, fresh and delightful choice. Joey’s is not to be missed.

Delicious food and great atmosphere in this restaurant. The waitresses was very attentive and competent. I especially enjoyed the fresh and hot chicken parmesan, it was both very saucy and yet crunchy, an impressive feat! We had it served with a fresh lime ricotta cheese which was a substitute and went amazing with it, as recommended by a chef Jadon. The tuna was also excellent, fresh, firm and had good presentation and very complex flavors in the sauces. I want to try more dishes!

Food was good but pricey, restaurant is very busy, even on a weeknight. We were not too hungry and just wanted a light bite, so we ordered sushi. 8 pieces of sushi took over 30 minutes to come, which is crazy. However, their customer service and understanding improved the rating. I explained the situation to the server and she offered the dish for free. Perhaps I will return when it is less crowded or book in advance.

The salad was delicious but their avocado had gone bad and had turned black, which was not because of oxidation, because its flavor had changed completely. The sushi next to the steak also has avocado on it, and I wonder if it's bad too, since I ran to the bathroom to have diarrhea before I got home.

It is a very nice restaurant at affordable price. The waiters provide nice service and the food are delicious. There is a tea time menu and you can save 1 dollar per dish. The open kitchen may give you better view as well.

Our favorite restaurant. Rideau or Landsdown it doesn't matter. Both are awesome. Every single item we eat is on point. We drive 1 hour everytime to enjoy this place.

Went for brunch, it was amazing with beautiful weather. Literally tasty foods especially the tuna salad! Burger also very classic and the meat was so great, medium rare, very soft, and they use triple A beef Besides the server was so kind and caring well! Love the vibes! …

Worst meal of all time. Chicken parmesan ($29 dish) came completely burnt, it had barely any chicken between the crust. Absolutely unacceptable quality of food. Not sure how you can make it this bad.

Food was perfect! Had the Joey's special steak and cod, me and my fiancee enjoyed it! Well prepared and fresh ingredients. We went to celebrate a special occasion and the service was fantastic!
