This review is regarding the performance of your employee Gladys Salazar from guest services. To put you in context, Me and my friend went to this hospital wanting to talk with a social worker because he is a 30 year old man who happens to suffer from Glomerulonephritis  / Nephropathy Minimal Change Disease (MCD) but that not being enough, yesterday (02/14/2023) he was diagnosed at this hospital with a large and possibly malignant tumor on his chest. if you don't believe me you can ask Dr. Shahid from Interventional radiology who decided to involved into this difficult case other specialists such as cardiothoracic surgery, oncology and surgical oncology in order to decide how to proceed. Dr. Shahid explained to us that this tumor is rapidly growing and that we need to act ASAP. The only problem is that my friend is undocumented and has no medical insurance. For this reason, we decided to go and talk with a social worker just to see what options were available for him. Unfortunately, the person that we encountered in that office was Gladys Salazar. I specifically asked if he could apply for a temporary emergency medicaid program just to help us with the surgery. Gladys with her awful attitude and sarcasm assured us that such a program doesn't exist, that it only existed in my mind but the sad part is that YES it does exist! Certainly, Gladys was too busy gossiping with her coworkers that she didn't want to “waste” her time explaining the program requisites to a patient whose life is in jeopardy. Just to leave this clear, we were the only people in that office asking for help so there is no excuse that she was too busy. Just google it and you will find out that  “Emergency Medicaid provides medical coverage to uninsured individuals who do not qualify for Medicaid due to citizenship/immigration status. This program pays the health care costs for individuals who have experienced a medical emergency. A doctor has to determine if an illness or injury is an emergency medical condition. In general, an emergency medical condition is a condition that could place an individual’s health in serious danger without immediate medical attention.” I also explained that we were waiting for him to get 90 days in Miami-Dade in order to apply for financial assistance programs such as the Jackson card or anything that can help him in this difficult moment but Gladys also told us: “He can’t get any type of assistance if he is not a permanent resident or a citizen of the U.S.A” statement or requisite that is not on the financial assistance for medical care brochure. In fact, it says “Your answers to any questions we ask related to immigration status will be used only to find any special programs that may help you pay for your care. This information is confidential and will not be reported to Immigration & Naturalization Service (INS) or any law enforcement or customs agency.” If Glady’s statement was 100% true it might say something like “This program is only for permanent residents/citizens of the U.S.A”. Gladys remarked to me that because he doesn't have a defined immigration status, no program will be able to help him. The only advice that I got from this “Social worker” was to take my friend home and watch him die. Not happy with that, when I asked her why she had such a bad attitude towards us, she  accused me of going there to ask the same questions on several occasions. I told her that this was the first time in my life that I stepped into this office. In fact, I didn't know where the social workers office was located and I had to ask the security officer at the door and he kindly guided us. You are free to watch the cameras just to see if I had ever stepped into that office and you won't find me because I haven’t. In conclusion, this interaction was beyond awful. We felt discriminated against on the basis of my friend’s immigration status and also for our latino ethnicity although Gladys is one of us. We might file a grievance with ADA, 504 VI Coordinator and U.S Department of Health and Human Services.

Today's Next Post: 08.04.2023 2 hours later Called hospital whom put me on hold multiple times to handle "emergency phone calls."?? So, the patient in their hospital which is incoherent, admitted with edema, spiking a temperature and that could talk 10 hours prior and no one is aware of the change NOT AN EMERGENCY? Transferred to Guest Services whom doesn't listen prior to placing a person on hold, guess their cell phone was ringing and taking priority. Literally, placed me on hold 3 times within a minute without knowing who I was, what I was calling about or whom I was call in regard to. Had the audacity to call me unprofessional after being told I had been trying to get answers for the past three hours and she is incoherent. Well, I am calling Guest Services out and recommend a different position that doesn't interact with the public. As you can tell by this writing, I got fed up with holding over an hour for the floor nurse and guest services. Switchboard transferred me to Case Management whom had previously been told that they don't arrive before 9-10 am Monday through Friday. Imagine, voice mail only without even knowing whom the actual case worker or case management supervisor is for any of the four hospitals. That will go well in a call back as they all sort out and transfer messages among each other for God knows how many days. Back to the Switchboard whom took a message and promised a call back from a real Hospital Administrator of course that was 30 minutes ago. Niece is not coherent, cannot speak audibly, symptoms appear indicative of low ejection fraction that was at 10% within the last 40 days when a defibrillator was implanted in her. At least if they don't notice this time, it will give them time to get up from the nearest station to address, or not. Wonder what the oxygen, ejection fraction, temperature, fluid in lung levels are at this moment and the past 24 hours has been as she is not capable of speaking for herself. Note that the response to this review will be a "computer generated response" like all the others with poor ratings and pushed off screen. Even though the a proxy was placed in the medical file and an emergency contact is on record, claim they don't have to adhere to it. Perhaps someone in case management can call to work out the details that the coroners office will need from us. Today's Post: 08.04.2023 Called my niece in Jackson Memorial last night to check on her well being. Refused as the proxy created by our legal had no end date to her health crisis this past several months. Refused to speak with me. Contacted my niece this morning, she is unable to speak audibly. Tried to call nurse's station and hospital administrator to see if there is an issue with her oxygen level, fluid build-up in her lungs per x-ray yesterday/day before when admitted, and/or stroke...etc. On hold now for over 36 minutes with no one responding. Administrator office whom supposedly was attempting to get a hold of a case worker or floor for over 19 minutes simultaneously. Notably, Jackson Memorial has stated that their case workers do not arrive prior to 9 am for which it is 8:32 east coast time. Has my niece had a stroke or heart attack? Has her oxygen rate plummeted to dangerous levels? Is her ejection fraction back down to 10% which only spiked to a supposed 40 ten days ago? Was this even true? What is happening? Now holding 40 minutes for South Wing, 7th floor nurse and Case worker/floor person for 23 minutes. Last Post Released a person with cronic medical needs to a facility unable to care for the person. That facility, through deception, sent the person to Jackson North only to have her put on the street and is now missing.

Unfortunately, my dad has been in and out of this hospital & it’s various branches for the past month after suffering a hemorrhagic stroke. Due to the stroke he was left unable to walk, has difficulty moving his arms, and various issues with speech and sight. He was initially admitted to Jacksons ER, then transferred to the ICU, and eventually transferred to the Christine E. Lynn Rehabilitation center for various therapies. This hospital has been nothing short of a nightmare all through out. He was discharged from the rehabilitation center about a week ago without any of the necessary medical equipment & nursing help that he will be needing to live, on a day to day basis. He was sent home & for 6 days no nurse was sent to the house to help him with basic necessities like checking for his overall health, hygiene, medicines, or bathroom support. After having to consult with Jacksons staff and the nursing company every single day, no help ever came while he was home. Because no help came, he was unable to use the bathroom or have his health monitored. We realized that my father was now shaking, having cold sweats and had an extremely high blood pressure spike, and high temperatures. And after only 6 days of being home he had to return to Jackson Memorial, where we then discovered he was suffering from a UTI that had turned into a kidney infection, an obstructed and inflamed kidney, and pneumonia aside from his physical disabilities. Now, outside from all those issues the hospital has lost his phone. When he was readmitted on the night of 9/18/2023 he had to be moved from the ERs hospital bed to the main hospital in the west wing. At this point we had waited 6+ hours for him to be admitted & finally went home after we thought he was being safely transferred. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case as the transporter that was sent was a young girl, who was very openly frustrated and stated to my father that she should not have to be the one to move him. My father is physically disabled, but despite that he had to try to move himself from one of the beds to the other all on his own because the transporter refused to help. My father is missing a leg, is unable to move the leg he does have (due to the stroke), and has very little strength in his arms & can barely support himself enough to sit up. In the midst of all this happening the transporter 1) failed to help my father and outright refused to & 2) failed to notice that his phone was left on the other bed. Now my father is still in the hospital and we’ve tried all efforts to try and retrieve his phone. Transportation services claims that there was no girl transporting anyone the night my father was moved, the lost and found hasn’t received a phone, the nurses have all shifted blame to other departments, and transportation services has been unable to locate the person who transported my father to ask about the phone because “she already went home for the night.” The transporters name is something like Lucy or Julie as that’s all my father can remember. It’s so sad to see this hospital continually failing my father & I’m sure so many other of their patients. And Jackson is taking no responsibility for their actions or attempting to help. And on top of everything the phone number for the hospital doesn’t work, which is really no surprise because nothing else in the hospital does either. I need to be contacted as soon as possible.

Jackson Memorial Hospital. We arrived at 5:45am. Checkin was great. I registered as a patient and my husband as the companion. They took his cellphone number to call him and we were told that “Dr. Ian Cote will come down to the waiting room to talk to him after the surgery.” At around 7:45 am I was transferred to the surgery room. At Jackson Memorial Hospital, there was not a screen letting companionships know where in the surgery process the patient was. At around 2pm when my husband went to the front desk asking for me and wondering what the heck was happening, they told him I was in recovery room. Dr. Cote never showed up after surgery to talk to him. The surgery was supposed to take about 2 hours. We don’t really know how long it took. Once I was alert, I asked for my husband and they told me that they were calling him and that he didn’t answer. I asked, where are you calling? Then, they realized they were calling the home phone. Mistakes happens, I’m aware of it, but someone should have had the decency to go to the waiting room and inform him of my outcome of the surgery, rather than leave companions in the limbo. People really become numb to other’s pain when they get used to seeing so much distress and suffering. The Preparation: I had a very rude nurse with little empathy. She struggled getting the vein for the IV in very noticeable ‘juicy’ veins. As a result, I got severe bruises. I asked the anesthesiologist to please do it on my other hand. He did it very successfully and with no problem. Once in the surgery room, the assistants in charge of intubation, asked me about my teeth and mouth condition because “sometimes during intubation / withdrawal of it, we can knockout some teeth, but you have pretty teeth.” It was just a bad joke from the young men. Discharge: Nurse finally was able to contact my husband. I had a short walk and during the walk she explained that “on Friday (72 hours after the surgery), I could have a complete shower, remove the bandage, pad the wound, use a soft/gentle soap, not scrub it to avoid removing the scab and ‘I would leave it dry and open for faster healing.’” The written instructions say “Keep incision clean and dry. Remove dressing in 72 hours.” The problem with that instructions is that under the dressing there were some sterile strips. The instructions don’t talk about how to care for it and I wasn’t told about it either. The after surgery instructions do have 6 pages about how not to get hooked on opioids, though but NONE about how to care for the wound step by step, day by day until follow up, or when to shower, nothing… So I followed the well intended discharge nurse instructions. Conclusion: If you're considering the University of Miami or Jackson Memorial Hospital, be aware of the way they work. You may find, as I did, some unsympathetic, ruthless, and unprofessional robotic individuals, with all kind of miscommunications and conflicting instructions. Only overloaded robots. Once the surgery was done, that was it. Vaya con Dios! Kind of bulk/wholesale surgeries. My gut tells me there's a good reason to limit the instructions to just walking and exaggerate the communications instructions about risk of addiction to opioid. It's called LEGAL. Good luck with your next surgery.

I had surgery to remove my ovarian cyst and right side ovary. It was my first surgery in my life. I had many concerns because I don't speak very well English as I am Japanese, and lots of medical systems and processes are different than my country, and also my husband is recovering from his major back surgery so I don't have anyone who couldassist me. But Dr Schlumbrecht made me and my husband feel everything gonna be all fine. And his stuffs at office are amazing especially Tania who is coordinating all my surgery process was extraordinary. She is very caring and she got my back, and she made me feel very safe. And the day of surgery August 15th that was yesterday. I was little nervous. But the nurse Mr Lunel Milien took all my worries away. What he does is not just "care", he does care from his true heart. I don't need ask anything because he does before I ask. I didn't need ask nurse call button because he's already prepared for everything I needed. He knows what I need and his hospitality was beyond service. When I was recovering from anesthesia, I was worrying if I could walk by myself or if I could have someone who can assist me to go down because my husband can't walk or physically assist me. He prepared wheelchair and with very gentle caring assistant lady for me. I wish all the nurses, I mean all the people in this world was like him. Can't thanks enough to him took such great care of me from the begging to all way till the end. And all Dr Schlumbrecht surgery teams are AWESOME!! WOW!! I had no time for being nervous. They stayed with me most of time, and they kept me smile and kept my heart warm. I felt like my surgery day came with Christmas and Thanksgiving all holiday together.I forgot to take my glasses off when they are moving me to surgery room, I asked one of team(sorry I couldn't see who without glasses), and I realized when I leave hospital after surgery that she put my glasses in my glasses case very nice and caring. Not enough space that I would love to write about how everyone cares for all details. They all made me feel like I am surrounded by my family who really care about me all the way to go on anesthesia. I was so happy to hear their voice when I woke up, and I knew I'm gonna be all better. It has been not easy life for me and my husband this few years because of my husband is mostly in bed because of his back. But that day, they even made me feel that everything gonna be alright. That was truly the moment that I saw great leader who gathers great team. My apologies I am not fluent in English. I can't find any words to express gratitude from me and my husband. Thank you so so much. We love you all.

It has been almost 1 month since my baby came into this world thanks to the excellent staff at Jackson Memorial Hospital located at 1611 NW 12th Ave, Miami, FL. I couldn't choose a better place in the world than that to bring my girl to life. Words are not enough to thank all the staff who attended me. From the entrance to the living room, the comfortable room with all the needs covered for the arrival of my baby and the incredible cleaning. The entire staff was wonderful from the doctors, midwives, nurses, residents, anesthetists and cooks. I felt like I was in a 5 star hotel. Everyone attentive and prepared for the arrival of my baby. Every doubt I had was clarified, all the attention was given with love and dedication. At all times I felt special, protected and cared for. The first person I must thank is Dr. Nicole Habibi, who since the consultations in the last few weeks has been wonderful. I was lucky that her turn coincided with the arrival of my baby and she brought my girl into the world. Nicole is a young doctor but what she has of knowledge, love and dedication is too much and just like 100 years of experience. Thank you doctor Nicole Habibi for my baby. You are in my memory as one of the most special people in my life. On the 4th floor, room 55, I gave birth. There, Sherence Louidor, Clara Murphy, TJ, and others that I couldn't write down all the names of which I greatly regret, treated me wonderfully. The two anesthetists were spectacular. I was treated and cared for excellently by Asian roots anesthetist. Thank you for relieving my pain, to the point of removing it and being able to enjoy that special and unique moment. Then I was transferred to the postpartum room. The attention continued to be wonderful. There I met the nurse Ronide Zephir. What ethics, care and attention from that woman to me! I will always remember her because she knew how to give me all the care, help, attention and information I needed. They should multiply it so that the world is better. I swear that I cannot express all that I feel inside for the happiness that I had to fall in that hospital, under the hands of all its staff. I don't know how much the salary of each worker of all the staff is, but I am sure that it is not enough for the quality and love that they give to their patients (please raise their salaries, treat them like queens because they deserve it). The work they do is priceless. I would like to write more but I think I would not finish.I only have positive things and infinite gratitude to everyone who treated me. God take care of you always and bless you with good and wonderful things. A very strong hug to all Maylin

Most insensitive staffing in the ICU actually the entire hospital but you’d think ICU staff would be compassionate towards families visiting loved ones. We watched how they insulted my brother for his size and called him “Paco” which btw isn’t his name. I’m completely disgusted and disappointed that these so called professionals have treated my brother who wasn’t able to speak for himself due to his condition and to have such nasty people in care of him is disturbing. They need to retrain the ICU staff to have compassion, empathy and sympathy for one’s visiting maybe another patient for you but that is my loved one. As for the RN in NICU Michelle (floor5) who was so mean in ripping off equipment and tossing it on his genitals and broken limb, and as he thrashed in pain and shear terror bc he is sedated she did nothing to reassure him where he was and that he was ok not choking bc he was intubated and waking up to that being heavily sedated can make the patient think they’re choking. Now not to say there wasn’t any great RN bc that very floor was Patty who was very warm, caring, attentive and tried connecting to him so when he awoke in those states he wasn’t terrified. Also watching them transfer him from floor five to eight was watching clowns getting into a car, in orchestrated and chaotic, slamming him into other stretchers and almost myself got hit with one and almost hit his head on the elevator or perhaps did bc then asked if he fell on his head….. nope not one of his injuries at all unless it happened while at Jackson memorial smh I am so upset my loved one was brought here rather than anywhere else?!?! Also let me add in the 8th floor night attendance Roxanne was very rude, we were told to leave 30 minutes early when were told we could stay 8pm-930pm , she then says to my sister when she was leaving a very rude comment stating “she should be listening to the voice over to leave ” all because she took an extra 3 mins to say goodbye to our sedated brother. Then my sister let her know that was rude because the time wasn’t even suppose to be till 930 and had her leave at 9… the lady Roxanne then says “oh it was rude huh ” very rudely …. She doesn’t deserve to be working around patients and patients family memeber who are already grieving over their family .

Where to begin in praising the truly exceptional care and unwavering dedication exhibited by Jackson Memorial Hospital and its remarkable staff? My recent experience at this institution left me with an immense sense of gratitude and profound admiration for the unparalleled level of healthcare they provide. From the very moment I stepped through its doors, I was enveloped in an atmosphere of compassion, expertise, and profound commitment to patient well-being. The friendly and attentive staff, from the diligent nurses to the highly skilled physicians, ensured that I was not just another case but an individual in need of specialized care. The hallmark of Jackson Memorial Hospital is undoubtedly its dedicated team. Their collective knowledge, combined with an unparalleled level of empathy, made a world of difference during my stay. They consistently went the extra mile, taking the time to explain complex medical procedures and answering all my questions with the utmost patience. Their unwavering support made a challenging time much more manageable. What deeply impressed me was the hospital's commitment to staying at the forefront of medical advancements. The facilities are state-of-the-art, equipped with cutting-edge technology that undoubtedly sets a new standard for healthcare. It's evident that they are not content with maintaining the status quo but continually strive to provide the very best for their patients. The hygiene and organization of the hospital were impeccable, creating an environment that was both comforting and safe. Their dedication to maintaining a clean and welcoming atmosphere certainly contributes to the overall sense of well-being for patients. In summary, I cannot express enough gratitude to Jackson Memorial Hospital for the extraordinary care and support I received. This institution has earned my unwavering respect and admiration, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone in need of exceptional medical care. My heartfelt thanks to Jackson Memorial Hospital and its outstanding team for being a beacon of excellence in the realm of healthcare. - Bartholomew Gaylord

If I would be able to give no stars I would. My boyfriend is a transplant patient and have been here for five days. Took three days to get a full understanding of the situation because I escalated to the CNO through an outside source. Was held in the ER room for over 48 hours and nurse practitioner or physician assistants is the only ones seeing patients. Was told that the delay in ER was private room availability as he has to be alone due to being immunocompromised. Was transported to the 10th floor to a room that wasn’t ready and was left in the hallway for more than 45 minutes to then placed in a room that was pending maintenance to then moved to a shared room. Everything is an excuse or someone else’s issue. Everyone passes the task and no one takes responsibility for their job. Triage nurses complaining that they want to switch from Mondays to Sundays because there’s less work, patients in hallways screaming, etc. I have requested three times to speak to a doctor and instead a nurse practitioner comes and introduces herself as the doctor because in her country she was a doctor. Her badge says ARNP not doctor so therefore she is not the doctor. I must look stupid to them! One of the nurse's had the audacity to tell me that the ENT came to see him twice when in reality they did not. His/her nurse practitioner is who show their face not a doctor. Requested Risk Management/Patient Services and they didn’t even bother coming to see us but send Hospitality Coordinator. My boyfriend’s face abscess is bothering him and they now keep saying that it is hard and nothing can be done until it softens. Transplant team were notified today for the first time because we called not because the doctors contacted them (that's what we were told when visited). I feel sorry for those that can't advocate for themselves!

I had C section done in this hospital, and this review specifically for hospital staff, nurses in particularly. Because my doctor is the best, he was the only reason I was in that hospital. My doctor is Dana Homer. Since I have something to compare , because I’ve experienced better service in different hospital I can point everything what they’re doing wrong. 1) nurses are lazy and rude , zero compassion to newly moms. They’re so tired or maybe underpaid ( which is not my problem) They don’t communicate, lazy even smile a bit. I’m the easiest client you ever meet, I am nice even you’re rude, since I work in client service myself, I can call out someone who’s just not professional and lazy. After my surgery literally 6 hours, I was still in bed bleeding , still hooked with IV. My blood level was low at this time. My husband called nurse to help change baby’s diaper , where she told us (Angela name of the nurse) that “mama can do it herself” But no one told me that I can get up , they didn’t show me or give me my hygiene stuff, they were somewhere in the corner of the room. Well I’m still in bed. You’d think I got bad luck getting 1 bad nurse… no … all of them were rude. When I was discharged this nurse kept forgetting I need discharge paper. She finally did, and gave 3 pages of paper . That’s it! They’re system is so wrong. With my first baby I was in Memorial regional . when they were discharging me they made sure they had conversation w my husband, how to take care of me after surgery.they prepped food to go so I can eat at home. They had goodie bag with all necessary items. So yeah , whoever leaving 5 stars for having baby there… sorry … you just haven’t seen better service….

⭐️ POSITIVE VBAC HOMEBIRTH TRANSFER ⭐️ Doulas reviews: I wanted to take a moment and express my gratitude for the L&D staff. I’m a local doula who had a home birth client transfer due to concern for possible meconium. Over the 3 days we were there, each and every nurse, (resident) OB and anesthesiologist were all incredibly supportive. My client is a woman of color and evidence shows that there’s still racial discrimination and an increase in maternal mortality in black women, so we were very much taken back when staff explicitly stated, “We respect a women’s autonomy and will honor it as long as her and baby are healthy.” Respect for autonomy isn’t what commonly comes out of an OB’s mouth and it was like that up to the day of discharge. Everyone’s bedside manner was compassionate. They listened and gave my client opportunities to ask questions. I come from Palm Beach County where medical corrosion isn’t as big of a topic as it is down here in Miami, so I’m really taken back by this experience. Now I know this may not be everyone’s experience as staff members are human and have bad days, too. But as a doula, let me express that the attitude you bring into a Mother’s birth space impacts her experience and the memory of her birth for the rest of your life, so the fact that this was our experience I feel everyone needs to know. I truly hope that this continues to be the quality of care provided and if so Jackson Memorial will leave an impression on our local birth community that they are a safe space to birth in. A special thank you to L&D nurses Vanessa, Krista, Nerida, Shaniese, as well as Dr Diaz and his team of residents. You helped my VBAC client accomplish her goal.

ETA: 7/10/22 Final verdict is in. Ryder Trauma center has great surgeons and residents. EVERYTHING else is an epic fail. Horrible-unprofessional nurses although they did try to change their nasty dispositions after being reported. Horrible-unprofessional-clueless social workers that had NO RESOURCES or advise for patients in dire situations. Just awful! No rehab referrals...NOTHING!! Make sure you have a family member or friend with you at all times in this place to advocate for your care or else you WILL be mistreated. ETA: 7/1/2022 If your loved one is in the hospital currently being mistreated please email the person responding immediately. We received immediate help and a change in the horrible attitudes of the nurses. They even did a training with nurses on hospitality. I appreciate their promptness and dedication to ensuring patients are comfortable and treated well. DO NOT WAIT TO GO HOME AND COMPLAIN AFTERWARDS. I advise you to DO IT WHILE YOU OR YOUR LOVED ONE IS in the hospital. I will change my star from one to 3 and decide at the end of the hospitalization what the final rating will be. 6/27/2022 Horrible. Family member has been waiting for her nurse to check on her since the 7 pm shift change. She hasn’t received her pain meds after MAJOR surgery. Due to have second surgery tomorrow and no bath/sponge the night before....nurses simply DO NOT RESPOND. These nurses on the 3rd floor do NOT respond to patient buzzing for help so a pt could be on the floor calling for help and they simply IGNORE it. This is gross incompetence. Your family member will not be taken care of in this place.

Hello, I would love to share some experiences in Jackson. It is just hard and take long for the appointment at first but believe me. It is all worth.I started seeing OB doctor. All the doctors and nurses show me some care and go details for overall health for my baby and me. Not just only that they care how I feel. I can express how I feel and I really appreciate that for your attention. ♥️On July 17,2023 the water was break. Since I stepped to the hospital. First, the nicest receptionist ask to help me. And please thank you for all the people who take me to the emergency room for ready to labor. Believe me all the doctors and nurses who have been taking care of me. They give me warm welcome and they make feel like this is one of the best experience in my life. Thank you for your helpful and caring. I can’t thank enough for all that. Everything goes well and fluency because all of your kindness to me. All of you show me that I am not alone, you show me the way out because you care baby and me for our own good . All of you are the best. Next, after labor, I’m with pediatric doctor. They are all professional and take care of me with any step of taking care of the baby. Nurses are friendly and helpful as always. I will never forget who is the social worker and who has done completely perfect of the birth certificate of my daughter. Thank you very much All of this words may not enough for all of you. But I am so lucky to meet this experience in my life. I will never forget what has happened in any moment. God bless all of you. And I love all of you ❣️

Hello, We’ve been dealing with Jackson hospital for 6 months now. My mom got a kidney transplant on 12/12/2022 and the whole experience has been terrible. They’ve given her medications while she was admitted that had been discontinued previously. We have never received an updated medication list as promised by the pharmacist that called me before she was released after the transplant. I can list many more times where the ball has been dropped by JMH. It’s very difficult to get through to a coordinator. You usually have to wait more than 24 hours to receive an answer and when you do it’s never a complete answer. The most recent situation is that my mom was scheduled for an outpatient procedure this Friday, June 23. Today, June 22, Bertha calls to confirm my mom’s appointment and she asks if she’s currently on aspirin, which she is. Then, they tell me that she should have stopped the aspirin 3 days prior to procedure. I asked why no one ever informed the patient of this. The response was that the patient should have known this since she’s had other procedures done since she’s a transplant patient. They also told me that it wasn’t a problem, that we can just reschedule. It is a problem, everyone involved works and has to adjust their schedules accordingly. Honestly, I had a better image of JMH before. I am very dissapointed with the overall treatment we’ve experienced at JMH. Eric Lopez Sent from my iPhone

MRI Review Statement I did an MRI. This was my second attempt which was way better than the first one. The only reason for this was prepaaredness: I was mentally better aware of the experience as I discovered that i suffered from claustrophobia. I was prescribed Lorazepam by my primary care provider to .be administered 1 hr prior to the exam in order to bring my anxiety level down. I took a second pill, 15 minutes prior. I brought along eye cover pads, not to be tempted to open my eyes during the exam. I put on ear plugs in addition to the ear pads that were put on at the clinic and finally I asked to be played some relaxing music during the whole test since I had realized that the machine noise contributed to my anxiety issue. It made all the difference in the world and I would seriously encourage that all patients are recommended to do the same when taking this exam. I should also stress that this MRI unit at the Jackson Memorial Hospital seemed a little wider in circumference than the machine used at the Jackson Health North Miami hospital, for those who suffer from anxiety like me. My test must have lasted almost an hour, including with and without contrast injection. Seriously, it could have last an additional 30 minutes that it would have not bothered me. Being prepared is definitely a plus.

This was the worst experience ever!! I went to deliver my baby at this hospital, I asked to be delivered by the attending physician since my pregnancy was high-risk well my request obviously was denied I was delivered by a resident who almost dropped my baby. The resident that was checking me every 4 hours to see how dilated I was kept saying I was 4 cm when in reality I was more because even my nurse told me so. Then my baby was taken to the Nicu there all the nurses caring for my baby were awesome except for the fact that the nurse lead allowed a mother AND a grandmother to visit with one baby, while my husband had to wait outside because it was supposed to be one person allowed with the baby. While I was in postpartum care on my last day there my discharge nurse had the nerve to tell me that she had to check my bags to see what I came to hospital with and I told her that is a violation of my privacy and she was not checking my bags, I would understand if they needed to check prior to me entering the hospital but at discharge? What was I going to steal the horrible hospital gowns? This was by far the worst experience ever. With all that happened I was going to have my tubes tied but after that experience I chose not to go through with it, at least not there.

The ER is terrible. I spent 6 hours untreated and watched as doctors and nurses stayed on their phones, walking slow, working with no sense of urgency and they didn't bother to help any patients screaming in pain and crying. My situation was a lot smaller but I just can't believe how they didn't take anyone seriously tonight. I saw a man with intense infectious wounds have to leave entirely because they took too long. And ppl obviously near death turning pale. Do not go here if you want help. Update: the following day I called the hospital for help getting a documentation I was there because I missed work to go there for treatment, but was told that because doctors weren't there and wasn't there that night I visited ( which explains why I got no treatment)I couldn't get any help with a note and mid way as I asked a question regarding what I could do in this situation, the operator on the phone hung up and had a rude tone. She was rude and seemed annoyed the entire call but the hanging up on me was extremely unprofessional when I was respectful and calm the entire phone call, I understand if I was a rude person but I wasn't, this is really effected emotionally since I had such a rough night previously, I really can't believe how bad this hospital is.

I’m very disappointed of the Neurologist doctors and the staffing of this hospital. My 1yr old daughter was referred for MRI exam which the doctors from this hospital said it was very important for my daughter to get this exam done. So she did, now 3 weeks has passed and no one from that department has contact me for her results. Therefore I been calling that department the pass 6days and every time a staff tells me very rude that a nurse will return my call but she doesn’t. I also tried politely to explain to the staffs that if they can set an appointment asap that way the doctor can give me the results in person and they tell me that no that I have to wait until the end of September to see the doctor. That’s insane!!! I have to wait 2 months to know the results of my daughter MRI exams after the doctors told that is was very important to get this exam done!! So in this case, the hospital charges my daughter insurance right away for this exams but I, the mother of the patient have to wait to 2 months for the results !!! This is a shame and very frustrating how careless this hospital can be. I hope that by me writing this some one from this hospital administration that really cares for there patients help me with this injustice situation.

This is the most horrible hospital ever !!!!! Honestly the attention is so poor like you go begging for care. No one cares we bring in a baby that has a severe condition from 6 pm and it’s been 12 dam hours no doc no nurse comes we call and they say they coming hours passing. Staff needs either to re train to retrieve blood they pinch poor baby 6 dam times with out being able to successful retrieve anything !!!! And the only reason why we went because nearest hospital but next time is going to be Miami children hospital!!!! Me personal as an adult go to Mercy they are Wonderful there !!!! They treat you fast and as s human being !!! I am not even sure how Jackson even in business because they just get worse and worse !!!! Stay away from this hospital or any clinic and doc have a lot of ppl who complain same reason. And best luck calling the complaint line they say they will call still waiting for call from 2021 when my mom had to get treated for Cancer that was another horrible experience!!!!! All because she didn’t have insurance and had to apply for Jackson card so got stuck there!!!!! Very very bad experience and sad part no one does anything about it !!!!!

JMH ER horrible service the staff unprofessional and uneducated they all are rude!! I got there at 1 o’clock and it was 8pm still I wasn’t called. The nurses station where they take your vitals all of them were rude talking back to the patients calling security guards to take people out there was four people cry in so much pain and nothing done. When I approach a nurse for help she told me she cannot help me at all and it wasn’t her problem. I tired talking to a doctor she told the same thing not her problem. I ask for names and they didn’t want to give it to me The security guard inside the ER he heard it and he told me in front of her to report them. Here I am giving a bad review. The executive person was there as well and he heard what the doctor said to me and he didn’t say anything. Shut this place down fire everyone put a new person now and I’m going to contact the Santi‘s Governor of Florida to report this injustice and unprofessional hospital. Going to report this on social media I got videos and pictures as well. Be aware if you go to this hospital is not worth they don’t care about patients don’t go there stay away.

A few months ago I was experiencing pain in my left leg so severe that I couldn’t walk more than 20 feet without collapsing. After about a week of it, I went to Jackson’s ER where I waited roughly nine hours to be seen. The ER staff “conducted exams” and ultimately discharged me without any diagnosis or treatment. I knew in the moment they were phoning it in. The whole experience felt very unprofessional and slapdash. Flash forward a few weeks: It turns out I had a blood clot behind my knee and needed emergency surgery. The doctors who treated me said I could have lost my leg or died. If you find yourself in a medical emergency—and value your life—avoid Jackson’s ER at all costs. I got lucky, but I have to wonder how many people their seemingly-negligent staff has allowed to needlessly suffer or die of perfectly treatable health problems like mine. Again, avoid Jackson’s ER at all costs. And speaking of costs, Jackson is still trying to bill me thousands of dollars for this nonsense. No diagnosis, no treatment—just a several-thousand dollar bill.

I know this is kind of an unfair review since I haven't seen the MD yet but at end of November I was referred to doctor Kevin Delal by Dr Green who is with the University of Miami. The problem is Dr Dalal is no longer with um health . In 2022 he apparently left umhealth and/or those two entities , which used to be one, are now separated. So it was very difficult to even get an appointment with Dr Delal because Jackson health requires a referral and could not see the referral in my umhealth chart. They did eventually get the referral but I then couldn't get an appointment until January 3rd and everybody knows what the "end of the year out of pocket expenses crunch" is for us patience. I have already reached out of pocket costs for 2023 but if I cannot see Dr dalal before end of the year then I'm going to be subject to additional medical costs because out of pocket starts all over again at the beginning of the year. BTW I have heard the separation of the two entities (Jackson health and um health)has made it difficult for many UM health patients..

If I could give this place ZERO stars I would! It does NOT deserve even one star. I’m here because my wife is giving birth here and the back and forth with security is a nightmare. Took 7 hours sitting in a waiting room after they called us in from the hospital because they “had a bed for my wife “ that was being induced. Then we arrive and had us wait 7 long hours overnight in a cold waiting room with bo answers as to why they call us in and then not have a room ready as they previously told us they did. Then when they give us a room security says I can’t come in because the guest sticker does not have a room number printed on it (how’s that my fault?) so I have to go back downstairs to wait in a long line for 25 minutes to fix the sticker that I did not print. What a joke. Very unpleasant and frustrating experience. If you’re planning on giving birth here I’d recommend you NOT and go find another alternative. The worst experience I’ve ever had with anything in life. I’m in the hospital as I’m writing this review January 14th 20223 at 4:10pm

This hospital has left my grandfather to rot in his bed , he is in west wing 7 floor , I am a practicing ICU Nurse and so are my other 2 cousins who are in the unit 24/7 trying call and get attention for my grandfather who has not had his amputation cured or looked at in days even after the physicians state they have put wound care orders. He is a very sweet man who is being left to legitimately rot away and it’s disgusting to see a hospital culture and staff be so blatantly neglecting of a patient who needs to be attended or his infection could potential come back ! 3 ICU nurses whining and asking for help for over 2 days and the only person who cares to come and help us reach out is the polite janitor who warned us to leave to another hospital because this was common in this floor. UM and baptist have always been top notch with his care but this floor will legitimately let people rot away and we need help. The charge nurses are not incompetent they just don’t care and that’s just sad given us nurses are the only voice our patients have.

  • trelicia mornes

This hospital is horrible!! My best friend needed to get emergency care because she broke her wrist at a hotel and we have been waiting for 7 hours and counting and she still hasn't gotten the care she supposed to be getting! They are extremely understaffed here and the ones they do have seems pretty lazy not all of them just some and we are here on a mini vacation from Texas so we kinda use to the badness of hospitals but nothing like this! They started getting so crowded they were asking visitors to leave so that patients can have somewhere to sit when all they need to do is work and get people in and out. We didnt rent a car so im having back problems standing here waiting smh This hospital is making it real hard for us to come back and visit Miami because we never know what can happen and if I cant trust your hospitals I cant trust nothing else. Please get this together its not a good look for business!! And we end up leaving after 11 hrs people get it together please please please ‍♀️

Disappointing. I usually go to Jackson Urgent Care because I always receive excellent service there. My son was hit by a car today after 4pm while leaving work on his stand up scooter. The car hit him on his left side (pain to his left chest) The incident happened on 52 st North Miami Ave. My son called 911 from the scene but refused transport to the hospital. He called me after the accident to tell me he was having trouble breathing. I brought him to Jackson Main. We were rushed in immediately but left in the ER to wait now over 2.5 hrs until my son actually received a x-ray to his chest. I watch a nurse finally take his vitals signs to tell me they are fine even though they clearly said 148/102 mmHg. As a nurse (RN) my badge was clearly visible for everyone to see. I felt this is the worst experience I've had. As a mother and a nurse it's very disappointing that someone with a medical emergency would have to wait around so long to receive emergency treatment. JMH has to do better in this community.

  • Mafe

The emergency room at this hospital is a complete disaster. It is extremely over crowded and the service is terrible. I never made it inside because after waiting a couple of hours to be seen and seeing what was happening I ran away as fast as I could. There was a man coughing up flegm all over the place and literally crying because no one was calling him in , also a woman in a wheelchair chair vomited on the floor and the floor was not cleaned up, instead they threw a blanket over it to cover it. Then a fight also broke out right in front of me over a charging station, a man moved a woman’s phone and then with all reason the woman called him out and the man started getting aggressive to the point they had to call security and security called the police. This was a total nightmare. I suggest you don’t come here if you are dealing with serious symptoms because they will easily leave you out there to die. The waiting area is huge and even then there weren’t any empty seats.

Charge nurse Gelena at Ryder Trauma Center needs better skills with people my mother fell and broke her shoulder I am a registered nurse my mother asked me to please stay with her which the doctors nor the rest of the staff had any problems with as I assisted them with her. I left one night as I had to go to work the other charge nurse advised me when I came back there would be absolutely no problem with me staying by my mother's side however Gelena told me I needed to leave anyway which made my mother who already suffers with nerves very anxious and try to get out of bed to leave. We are supposed to have the patients best interest at heart Gelena does not. I called admin to advise my mother wants and needs me with her to assist and I took the day off only on what the other charge nurse told me. Communication definitely needs to be better at this hospital. My mother asked more than just a few times for a patient advocate and was told none would come to see her.

  • Maria Gonzalez

Absolutely horrible horrible hospital has extremely nasty staff with no empathy towards patients and abominable care or lack of care to be precise!!!! With an appointment wait times are 4 to 5 hours long and the staff tells you they are sorry they are running a little bit late perhaps they don't know how to tell time a little is 10-30 minutes late 4 hours late is NOT a little!! Lack of empathy, and respect is not appreciated by the patients and when they complain they are told they can leave if they don't like it there!!!!! As if they chose to be there to begin with!!! Staff are dumb and clueless one staff member will tell you one thing and another staff member will tell you something else dumb they can't even get their stories straight and they lie to your face Hippocrates of the worse kind!!! If you have insurance go somewhere else!!! Poor people we come here to die because it is our only option!!!!

  • Rosana Mattioli

The worst I've ever seen. I went to a Doctors visit and I paid what I was told. 6 months later I get another bill for the same amount I had paid so I sent copies of the payment. 2 months later I received the same bill again so I decided to call. To my surprise a representative from Jackson Memorial Hospital told me that the bill was actually for the use of the facility (building). I've never hear such a thing in my life. The facility was literally a dump and having to pay extra for the use of the facility is a slap on the face. The service I received was horrendous, the doctor and the nurses super unprofessional and I never went back. I never even did the exams the doctor prescribed so I didn't have to go to that place again. When I made the appointment I was told I had to pay a co pay but was never informed I had to pay any extras for the use of the facility. This is not the way you treat anyone.

  • R P

This hospital is a hit or miss. Depending on the floor you are it will determine if you have a good nurse or a better nurse from example keep away from the 11th floor. Horrible nurses they don’t care. My mother almost died in that floor. As per the hospital itself it is ridiculous how they make you wait 45 to get a pass to go into a room and visit your family not to mention that they only allow one or two people per room which means if you’re coming from Long Distance you have to time yourself with your loved ones Management in this hospital is still stuck in the Covid days. A sick person wants to be with their loved ones who the hell are you to tell me that I can only bring up one person. Ridiculous hospital rules. I would rather go to either Mersy or Baptist were they understand the patient and the families. Don’t get me started on the emergency room

This is an ER review : I was experiencing chest pain while at work today, but because I have before I decided to go get checked in while I was still having them and I got to this hospital at 1:55 pm. Parked in their red garage($$). It is 9:06 pm, and I still haven't seen a doctor. I saw them switch shift abt 3 times. I feel worst than when I came. Everything from ekg, xray, blood work took forever. It is 9:06PM I am still here waiting. No one comes to tell you anything. Because I had a blanket in the car, and recovering from a cold I am not freezing to death. I hate going, I knew I'd wait but from 2pm til 9pm. I did so much breath work to help myself from collapsing but maybe I should just let myself pass out or smtg. I am writing this review from the waiting area. I am still here...waiting!

  • CJ Gillum

We live out of town and the Dr. we needed for a specific surgery was affiliated with Jackson. My husband and I were here for 5 days. EVERY person we met was kind and helpful. The check in staff and the wait room staff. They have a coffee shop that is 2nd to none... the women that run it are kind and know what they are doing. I don't think I'll find another cafe con leche to match! The nurses in pre-op were informational and experienced. I felt my husband was in good hands the moment we got there until we left. The nurses on West 6 were awesome, the cleaning staff, the food staff and PT... Shelda, Monica, Krisvee, Oderays - you will not be forgotten. Felicia, Maggie, Nadiya and our 555am checks with Davik. You are all the best. Thank you for everything. You won't be forgotten :)

My complaint is directed to the billing department. I have been trying to get an itemized bill after my delivery and baby care since 08/2022 and have been not successful. They keep sending me the bill without explanation about what I am paying for. I am a physician, that actually work for the JACKSON SYSTEM, and want to make sure I am paying the correct amount and dispute with my insurance if necessary. They never gave me the itemized and sent me to collection. I decided to pay regardless because obviously I don't want to go to collection but I when I called to pay and requested a new itemized bill, the customer service representative (CALLED TY,) literally told me to SHUT UP and HANG UP on me after the received the payment. What a shame.

  • Sharmain Broyles

Highly not recommended. Me and my boyfriend went solely because we're on vacation and this ER was the closest. Even though reviews were mixed, more bad than good we still came just to get him checked out after an ATV accident we had the day before. We waited nearly four hours for him to checked in and vitals. Over 4.5 hours for the ultrasound. The nurse and doctor claim we both didn't hear his name being called when I'm sure at the 6 hour mark We are not trying to spend any additional time here. They were beyond understaffed, I will say that the staff wasn't rude. We spent a total of 7 hours in this place and I never want to come back. I do not recommend this ER at all. I never experienced anything like this and I never want to again.

  • Herb

My wife was there for 10 days. With only 2 or 3 of the 7 elevators functioning the hospital is in serious need of repair. Dietary is a joke my wife did not have restrictions yet they kept sending my wife pureed food even after repeatedly asking for normal food. Food had to be brought in by family members. Physical theropy is practically non existant. They come help someone stand up and take a step or two then they leave after maybe 5 minutes. The gift shop is another joke it is never open so if you want to buy flowers or a card stop elsewhere. Then there are the lines when you arrive good luck with that.. My opinion dont go to this hospital if you have a choice. All things considered most of the staff is friendly and kind.

  • Nikki Williams

My daughter was a patient on the 6th floor west and her nurse Lisa Crum was extremely rude and racist. The nurse refused to administer a portion of her medication and left an infiltrated IV in her arm for over 4 hours while she screamed and begged in agony for the removal of the IV. My daughter was ignored and isolated by the nurse Lisa Crum and her supervisor Martine until the morning shift arrived. No patient should be physically and mentally tortured to the point where they lose hope, feel defenseless and begin to fear for their life. As a result of the horrific incident my daughter signed a AMA and left the hospital because she felt that dying on her own is more acceptable than being murder by the hospital staff.

  • Deirdre Rhodes

My daughter is currently in ICU after receiving a 4 organ transplant. I have no words to describe how amazing her transplant team is. The ICU staff is truly the best. The entire staff that I have had the privilege of speaking with are professional, knowledgeable & understanding. I feel positive with my baby girl in their care. I highly recommend Jackson Memorial Hospital & MTI for your medical needs. After I wrote my initial review, my daughter suffered a aorta bleed which resulted in the loss of her transplant. The team of doctors at Jackson saved her life. She currently is still inpatient at Jackson awaiting a new transplant. I am so amazed at their expertise and knowledge.

  • Yvette Ba

This ER was not only violating HIPPA but Joint commission standards. After registration- RNs sitting triaging in open areas- where there was no privacy everyone can hear everything. Short staffed. One ER nurse running urine test on same triage desk running back and forth. Providers not MD. APRN- diagnosing and talking to patients in the lobby ER not in pt rooms. No employees wearing badges - it was a nightmare. Came in with mom via ambulance at 930p was seen @ 430am... not to tell you the horrific experience we had. This place is not safe! And not following standards. Never in my life experienced an ER like this. Poor Operations and management.

  • Shyann Francois

We arrived to the hospital and waited five hours to be helped. All they did was put my mom on a bed and thats it. A doctor said he would order a cat scan and that took 2 hours and it never came while my mom was waiting we are overhearing the nurses and doctors having chats and laughing also talking bad about the patients there helping which is ridiculous. We are going to a better hospital tomorrow and if we found something that could’ve impacted my mother we will be filing a lawsuit against this place. This is the worst hospital ever and if you were on the verge of dying you rather just stay home and embrace death. I wish could put 0 stars

  • Kelli Adams

This is a shout-out to the West-Wing 10th Floor, not a review of the entire hospital. That would take too long. (But Neurosurgery was exceptional & saved my mom after a SCI). As a Patient for an extended period on 10, Charge Nurses MAXINE and GIGI are textbook good. Role Model good. RN’s RACHEL and PATRICIA too. They should teach classes to all the other nurses. And the CNA who was studying to be a nurse? Sorry forgot her name - she put forth a real A+ effort with my mom. Stayed in the moment, empathetic & kept her word. Ditto BRITTANY in Nutrition too. I want the employees to be aware how much their acts of kindness touch hearts.

  • Dianela

This place does not deserve even one star, it treats everyone there as if they were destitute, all the health personnel are rude, incompetent, indolent, inhumane, they totally lack human values, in addition to the bad diagnosis they gave me, you would have lost the pregnancy In there, if I hadn't been attentive, in addition to the unsanitary conditions in that place, the only person who demonstrated human values there despite not being a health personnel was the SECURITY GUARD, gentlemen, are you serious?? And if you want more details, check the cameras on 02/10/2022 from 2 pm to 11:30 pm, there it is.

  • Alice David

This hospital that once was alright in my eyes, now is a pain in the “ what happened and please stop the madness “-. When changing shifts its ridiculous, talk about 95% non work related. Each day all staff should strive for excellence. IF not for patients, there would be NO Jackson . In the hallway, not in a room. Staff ( Nurses) walk by without saying “ anything “ Ask for Charge Nurse by another nurse, CN what do patient wanted to see me for. . If you have no compassion find another Career. Hospital once stood talk with Bedside manners and dignity. Such a sad Book for Jackson, its not worth repeating.

  • Kara Davison

Doctors were great. Nurses were horrible. I have never experienced such apathetic people in my life. I had to ask numerous times (and occasionally beg) for even the simplest things, like a bedpan or pain meds. They honestly did not seem to care at all about my needs, and they also weren’t very good medically - IVs were put in wrong, they almost gave me the wrong medicine several times, etc. I broke my foot and spent two days in this hospital, and while the care from the orthopedists was good, I would honestly caution people against staying here given my horrible experience with the nurses.

  • Diamond April

Good evening, I am here now as a parent of a patient. I have been in the pediatric ER since about 8 PM. They told me she would be admitted 3 hours ago and yet I am still sitting in this room. The bathroom smells like urine, I need a shower; I’ve been between two ER’s since 1:30 PM. I am tired and I didnt ask to stay here over night. I understand that it is for the health of my child but this service is riduculous. Why is it taking so long? Why admit anyone without any rooms available? This isnt my first time having this isshe either. I always have this issue with this hospital!

  • Ayeli González

What a bad experience, my boyfriend got cut with a glass and that was the closest emergency room. And what a big mistake going there, the service was really poor, it was not clean. And the worst part, we had to wait like an hour (all this with my boyfriend still bleeding from his cut), and the persona who made the stitches didn’t do it right, he seemed with no experience, he even send him to get an X- Ray to check if he had pieces of glass inside of the injury, after the stitches! Really bad, they didn’t explain us anything, DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL IF YOU HAVE AN EMERGENCY

  • Tianna Scott

THE LITERAL WORST HOSPITAL EVER ! I’ve been coming to this hospital since I was 12 my mom actually works for the hospital as well but, in the past 2 weeks I’ve been denied service and even have help and literally had a argument with the gynecologist last night about whether or not I was WORTHY of being taken cared of. I can’t work or walk and they have the medication but she didn’t want to admit me because SHE DIDNT WANT TOO. Thank you to the kind nurse in emergency room- F who made me feel welcomed because these past couple of weeks have been HELL with Jackson HOSPITAL !

  • Chris Keila

Fernández such a great doctor !!!! My husband and I trust them with her in their hands fully ! Thank you Jackson team for everything you have done and do !!

I fell in Miami Beach while on vacation this week and cut open my elbow to the bone. I went to Jackson Memorial Hospital emergency room on advice from my travelers insurance company... While I soon understood it's a kind of public hospital for prisoners and other indigents and wards of the state, the staff, nurses, and doctors were second to none. They treated me and all others with great care and respect. I got four stitches, injections of anasthesia and antibiotics, and left (5 hours later) wrapped up and confidant in the care and attention I received.

  • Vic Pinto

I’m conflicted bc my nurse practitioner is awesome. Helpful and very friendly. The front desk specialist was also extremely professional and seemed competent. But the process to get checked in seemed like a mess. There was a line all the way to the door. I waited 2.5 hours to get called. Only to then wait in another room for about an hour. The meet with nurse practitioner only took 15-20min. Then I waited almost another hour to get my final paperwork and go home. Over 4 hours of waiting yesterday. All this for a physical. I hope this isn’t a usual thing

  • Ruth E.

All the twelve hours I was there were pretty interesting and Nurse Abby was a sweetheart but there’s a Tech there who claims to be Italian who’s the Devil reincarnated but she got what she deserved. She ended up cleaning all the beds. Oh I forgot to mention someone who’s last name was Valentine made me take off my clothes: 1 pair of pants, one blouse, two pairs of socks and a Hello Kitty blanket but I never saw them again. Maybe their motto is patients need to please them for the staff to please patients. You don’t know who you’re dealing with Goliath.

I had a horrible experience with this hospital after I was a passenger in a car accident during the summer of 2021. I was given fentanyl without consent. Oxycodone without my consent. I was incorrectly listed as an 81 year old unknown male and tagged with an ankle bracelet listing me as an unknown 81 year old male. Yet, I had my government ID, my work ID, my credit card with me. These items were even included in a bag tagged with a label as an unknown 81 year old male. A spleen embolization surgery was done on me without my valid consent.

  • Tonquisha Geter

"This hospital is torture!" I'm really not feeling being in a room with someone who can eat and I can't. I think ppl patients that are NPO!! Should be in the hospital rooms alone. It's torture!" Then they leave u in a room for 24-48hrs with nothing but a TV and pain!!! Before they give u what u suppose to take! and then they are giving me the same treatment from the last time I was here. Don't yall think yall should switch it up if it didn't really work the first time???! HELLO??!?!?!?‍♀️

  • Shana-Kay Hart

Horrible service. Do not come here if you expect to be seen by anyone at the ER. None of the staff have a clue about anything, horrible communications amongst staff. Got here at 11:50pm left at 5am after never getting the chance to speak to a nurse or doctor, nevermind the fact that they were quick to ask for payment before I had even sat down in a chair. There is no sense of professionalism amongst the staff or respect for the people who are coming here for help. Absolutely horrible service. Do not come here.

My son had a kidney transplant on June 28th and it turned out successful but he said he woke up in the surgical white room where he had been transplanted but apart of all he had a amazing experience. His Mother gave him his kidney and the doctors discharged her from the hospital 3 days after the transplant and as many kids don't go to school early, he went when his school early. The surgeon is OUTSTANDING and NICE Coordinators are always on time for results of labs and the doctor is nice and is experienced

  • Jazmynn Noa

The emergency room is a mess! I witness nurses screaming at one another , discriminating against a disabled person & telling a lady who was gushing blood from her head “to follow her, that she was very disoriented” OFCOURSE SHE IS! She’s gushing blood. Never again wil I go to this hospital. What really made me leave was them taking their sweet time to bring an unresponsive person in. The person was not moving and they let them sit for 5 mins! I will be notifying the BBB because this is not right!!!!

My experience at Jackson Memorial hospital has been incredible..nothing negative to say..they definitely need 5 star reviews. I had my daughter 3 yrs ago..she was born a preemie and the nurses and doctors were phenomenal..top notch..had her in the NICU for a month and the support and love she received was incredible. Unfortunately I’m back because my daughter was coughing and had a fever for a few days and they took her in right away and had to be admitted because she tested positive for RSV.

Worst Hospital !!!! It’s a freaking slaughterhouse ! Worst attending doctor Randolph Thomas Borrero & worst neurologist Annabelle Maldonado Medina (who should retire) at a hospital. Discharge documents state that my “migraine” which is not a migraine was resolved upon discharge at Jackson North Hospital. Of course it was NOT and they didn’t care to look further into what I have. It’s been 2 months I am in unbearable and scrutinizing pain. Thank you, mediocre “neurologist doc” and mediocre doctor !

I’ve been here for six hours for my son to be seen and I haven’t even seen . When I asked what’s going on I was told they take the most critical first . I saw people come after me and leave before me and my son hasn’t even been seen . It’s so unbelievable to be told my son isn’t being seen cuz to them he’s isn’t critical . His health isn’t okay and he’s sick and he should be seen regardless and they should be taking patients in order .WTH is this ? This is the worst hospital I ever been to .

  • Alberto Cabrera

The Children Neurologist Department is a complete disaster. We arrived with my client at 9:00 am and 11:30 am nobody took care of him. The reason why it happens is because this is a community hospital and the doctor is also doing Botox. Can you imagine? No body cares for the children waiting hours and hours. This is insane. Medical Assistance is a mess here in this hospital. Do not bring your child to this hospital, find another one in Miami. Horrible service and hours waiting.

There are not enough words to express my appreciation for the Jackson Memorial Hospital Lung transplant team . Thank you Dr. Tiago Machuca . The whole department , doctors , nurses and specialist have been outstanding and extremely helpful . They had made sure that my son Yoel was always given the best care available . Their compassionate attention and professional care saved his life , and able him to reunite with the family and to his 3 young children , God Blass you all !!!

The burn-unit here is second to none. Best hospital care I ever received. Doctors, nurses, and staff is absolutely amazing. Two weeks with a bad burn I was here for along with weekly clinic visits. Best care and communication of any hospital I’ve ever been to. Everyone is very friendly and caring. I just have nothing to complain about. If I ever has something major wrong again, this is the hospital I will request to be taken to immediately.

  • Fraud Committee

Waited 6 hours without seeing a doctor.. please check the other reviews as well. The hospital keeps replying to comments and apologizing but from what I’ve read and what I’m experiencing right now, they seem like they do not care because no changes has been made. They will literally let you die in the emergency room. If you’re seeking urgent care please go somewhere else.. and I honestly do not be leaving reviews so just know ITS THAT BAD!!

  • Kendra Clarke Lima

The maternity team at this hospital was top notch when I had my baby in 2020. They took their time to ensure that me and my unborn baby were always safe. Thank you so much for being there for me and my family during a very difficult time. We truly appreciate you bringing us out of it safely and can recommend this maternity team to anyone. If you have a high risk pregnancy this is where you want to go . Thank you again

  • G rod

This is the most unorganized hospital in all of south Florida. Your better off dying then coming to the er or admitting your family to this hospital. The nurses are rude. Everyone is over worked and just there for the money. The phone operators are just useless. The west wing 11 staff are uninformed and beyond useless. Don’t let your family go to this hospital. Memorial health is 1000 times better than this hospital!

  • Seletti Valladares

Vary Nasty Doctors and Nursed employees behave a little better than the educated maybe pride went to their head. The level of rudeness is High risk they mock patients slam draws wait till u p ur before Helping. The wait is very Exxagerated . They all mentally unstable and emotionally they seem agitated e Especially doctor's I think they hate each other. I could go on but..

My daughter was brought in because of premature labor/bleeding - ended in C-section delivery. After initial pain med for the surgery the nurse gave her reg Motrin. She was in extreme pain & ask Doc for something - he gave reg Tylenol. My family's in med. elsewhere & I'm wondering where's the Surg meds??? I wonder what he'd be taking if it were him in her place...

  • Dennis Daub

The ER and pediatric staff were excellent. We received fast and very good/thorough care. We didn't see any doctors, only Physician Assistants and nurses, all were good and knowledgeable. My 1yr old son went in with distress in breathing due to COVID and we left 4 hours later. For reference, I am an ex-registered nurse, and my wife finished medical school in India.

  • Yuu Soubra

My husband had amputation surgery done yesterday. He already had multiple health issues and was nervous about the surgery. Hospital staff members were caring and did their best to make him feel comfortable during check-in, preparation, and recovery. The night crew respected his time to rest, which was very much appreciated. Thank you, Jackson Memorial Hospital!!

  • Wanda Shelley

My daughter has been waiting to see a doctor in your ER for over 2 hours. She is in severe pain. We made the decision to send her to another hospital due to her pain. I requested a refund for the $200 copay and was told they could not refund it. She has not been seen or treated by a doctor. This does not equate to good business practices and will be reported.

  • Mari Acevedo

I was told by staff including medical staff family member’s surgery would be 3 hours long. I understand that complication arise. But after 6 hours no one has even had the decency to updated me on how he’s doing, why the surgery is taking so long. Communication is key, especially when it’s a family member. Has to get security to call and ask about status.

  • Carolina Ramirez

Very good service. my husband is a transplant patient and can only drink bottled water, there was nowhere to be found, I spoke to a girl in the kitchen, her name is Gigi, she was very kind and found me the water bottles for my husband, Thank you Gigi for doing your job very well and that good attitude and energy, thank you very much

  • Renee Robb

I brought my husband here tonight for his foot. He has crushed 2 toes, is bleeding non stop. They have taken x-rays & gave him antibiotics. We have been here since 9pm & are still sitting here at 4am. No one has been back into stitch him up. We were told we were waiting for the orthopedic doctor. Still have not seen him/her either.

  • Sidon Agnant

If you really care about your health simply don’t go there. I waited in the ER for 3hours to see a doctor, while the nurses/front desk was cracking jokes laughing as if the ER was a hanging out spot. There was no privacy I had to explained what’s going on with me in the hallway in front of everyone else that was waiting. HORRIBLE

  • Marie peras

Why do these people take every two hours to do something for a patient, blood test results 3hrs,pelvic exam 2hrs,get a doctor to come in 2hrs.im.not happy at all.iam pregnant and stress I will not stay here over night I rather sleep home! horrible place to bring your love one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ahhhhhh

  • Taste Pretty

We had an excellent experience here at Jackson Memorial/ Holtz Children Hospital my daughter came in to the hospital looking sick and we could not tell what was wrong with her. Jackson had a full staff working around the clock on my daughter. I do say Jackson in Hospital but I think it’s the same with Holtz children, hospital.

  • Jerry Stfelix

This is a very bad hospital if you have a medical emergency I would recommend this place woke up with chest pain this morning I came over here the movie with blue eyes that want to be a girl was very disrespectful I'm not coming at all of my I wouldn't recommend anybody to go here if you have emergency call medical emergency

  • Anna I.

The previous post regarding the ER is very similar to my experience. Arrived FOUR hours ago and still waiting for help, but we’ve already been charged $300 for the “visit.” Aggressive folks here, feels unsafe and one person has already been kicked after yelling and throwing things at the front desk. Place is a disgrace.

  • Natasha Winter

This is the worst emergency room ever! I was waiting to see a doctor for 8 hours right after an 8 hour shift from work and no doctors. I was in so much pain and I no one helped me. I walked out and went home where my husband assisted me. 3 weeks later and they're sending me bill $3000.00. This place is very horrible!

  • Jennyfer Dominguez

I just had my baby 10/2023 and it was the most painful experience. However, the nurses and doctors did everything they could and more to make it a good experience for me, and it was. Everyone was very kind, especially Kirby, my nurse during my induction. The anesthesiologist team was great… I would come here again.

  • Brenda Martinez

My friend had an appointment to have her induced labor at 1 pm and was giving at room finally at 10 pm. They had her waiting 9 hours and no one checked her blood pressure, nothing. This is about my friend and her kid. Come on. This is the first hospital that sets up appointments and have you waiting that long.

  • Michael Ragaglia

Gay men and wait to see doctor for 6 hours while I was here I try to rest everybody else ate ask them for food they told me I couldn't have done after I seen the doctor I still ask for food tell me it was too late movie to my floor 14 hours later asking for food bring me a half a sandwich with half a piece

  • Edwyne Janack

I had a great experience! I was submitted to the hospital in the year of 2020, the nurses and doctors took very good care of me, they really fought for me How do I find some of the nurses because I told them that they would see me again but I can’t remember some of the names. Please help me ❤️

  • Krystal Badillo

No privacy, disorganized, everyone screaming, no employees, 9hrs waiting and didn’t even get to see a Dr nor had blood test (only 3 urinalysis cause the kept loosing it) but I was charged $200. Gotta say. The nurses where nice with me. Is not there fault that the hospital has no employees.

  • Giuseppe Vettorazzi

I want to thank the entire @jacksonhealth team for the excellent care I received before and after my surgery. They are all incredible professionals and always willing to make you feel comfortable in those difficult moments. As their slogan says: Making Miracles Happen Every Day.

  • Franco Marcoccia

17 hours in the ER for them to fix a splint that was put on incorrectly and was not allowing sufficient bloodflow to my fingers. They took it off and re-put it and less than 10 minutes later it was falling apart. The Orthopedic doctors fail to do simple tasks. Don’t come here.

  • ALD ELLIS

Excellent Hospital and clinics + Phys.Ther. services. World Class. Personal and family and friends experiences 31+ years and 18 months now. Still excellent. It's another South Florida Diamond rated hospital & employees. Thanks, for giving so much.

  • Maryuri Arias

  • Jennifer Gordon

  • Laureana Lavorgna

They sent me a bill to pay Being no one checked me .NO One doctor checked me and any history medical ! and I have to pay 1000 dollars?? For what ?? For wait 2 hours for NOTHING . I am really disappointed. I need someone explain that .

  • LuLu Barrientos

They violate federal laws and even their own policies regarding the provisions of financial assistance programs. It's suggested you do not use this facility. Seek medical help elsewhere.

  • YHVH yod-hei-vav-hei: יהוnיהו

I want to give a compliment to Jackson Memorial Hospital, especially the director of the 6th floor and her entire team for their care and love during my husband Richard Latta surgery.

  • Melisa C

Wait time is ridiculous staff very lazyyy been here since 10pm it is now 1am I️ still haven’t been seen by DR I’m in so much pain Jackson north would neverrrr ‍♀️ …

  • Debbiedeb Garcia

Unfortunately rules apply ona per day basis. Sometimes they’ll let you in and sometimes they make you wait an eternity. Choose other hospital for personalized treatment.

  • Ermione Ulysse

JACKSON MAIN SAVED MY LIFE AFTER MY UTERUS RAPTURE! BEST HOSPITAL AND TEAM IM SO GRATEFUL THE STAFF DOCTORS AND NURSES WERE ALL AMAZING! DEFINITELY RECOMMEND.

  • Lisa Bush
