"Great traditional, old school Chinese restuarant! Went for lunch"
"Use to be good food, so sorry it has changed"
"This place is loud and chaotic, waiters hardly seem to understand what you are asking (had to state my order at least three times and still got white rice instead of brown)"
"Heard good things about this place online"
"A great place to drink, eat and relax"
Great traditional, old school Chinese restuarant! Went for lunch. They start you off with traditional crunchy chinese noodles with dipping sweet sauce / spicy mustard. Then a hot delicous pot of tea.Had $7.00 martinis, they weren't huge, but excellent! Food was fantastic and decor / lighting felt like a tiki bar. …
Use to be good food, so sorry it has changed. I was there just recently and had to send my Shrimp Egg Foo Young back because the shrimps were bad! They gave me chicken with broccoli and that to did not taste good either. Hope they read their reviews so they can correct the food situation. Until then I won’t be eating there anymore.
This place is loud and chaotic, waiters hardly seem to understand what you are asking (had to state my order at least three times and still got white rice instead of brown). Food is so-so, drinks are limited, no idea what’s in the “cocktails” listed. Everything is a “secret recipe.” Overall iffy experience.
Heard good things about this place online. When we got to thebplace there was a B rating on the front door. Ordered egg drop and wonton soup both were served cold. When eating the egg drop found hair in it. Sent it back and gave me another one. Second one had hair in it as well. Will not be going back More
A great place to drink, eat and relax. Food are tasty. Chicken wings and BBQ ribs with special in-house made sauces are must-eat. They also offer great cocktail options, which are flavourful and well-balanced in taste. No need to mention the homey atmosphere and attentive services. Nancy is the sweetest!
This was basically a long overdue pilgrimage for my family as Anthony Bourdain devotees. The food was sublime! Generous portions and immaculate presentation. The standout here was the staff. Everyone we encountered was SO friendly. We actually considered hugging our waiter before we left...
This place is amazing, only place with good Polynesian food, so good you find room for it when your stomach is full, the egg drop wonton is to die for, the quality is great, and the atmosphere is very tropical and charming, The service is great.
The food was over fried, and mostly fish items on the menu. If you're allergic, then you won't have many options. The interior decor was very cute and authentic. The service was also very slow. Lots of families dining together for dinner. More
Poor management as I found a plastic object in chewing my take-out order. I brought this to the manager's attention and was only partially refunded. Any establishment with any decency and client focused would have apologized profusely along
Jade Island has withstood the test of time. Outstanding selection, quality service, delicious food - what more can someone ask for? Wish I took some photos of the decor, it is exactly the same as when my family would dine there 30 years ago
First time here. Mostly Polynesian fare which I am not familiar with, but also Chinese food is available. Friendly, attentive staff, and heaping portions of food. The dinner for two could easily feed a family of 4 or 5. The Generals Chicken
My girl went there recently for a simple lunch of wonton soup and crab rangoons. She was told they don't have crab rangoons, and insisted she order something else she wasn't in the mood for-- even though she paid cash, they claimed to have
Massive portions, but its quantity over quality. The sweet and sour chicken wasn't very good, but the fried rice and general's chicken were. Depends on what you get whether or not its worth it. Cool presentation on the platter though! More
Have been going to this place for decades. The quality is top notch and it is the best Chinese joint on Staten Island. All of the rest are little hole in the wall spots. This is the kind of place if you move away from home and want to eat
Great Service, however the food was not great. The shrimp and broccoli had a bad fishy taste. Maybe the shrimp was expired. The boneless spare ribs were dry. The gravy for the Egg Foo Young was nasty. If you are looking for that authentic
My favorite chinese food on the island. The host was very nice but our waiter seemed to have little patience for our table. He was short and seemed to be annoyed at anything we asked for. My sister in law is allergic to shrimp so when we
I have been a loyal customer of Jade Island for over 20 years and my past experiences have always been outstanding. Last night I went to dinner with 6 other family members and the quality of the food was subpar. The noodles were hard and
We’ve been to jade island a couple of times over the past 6 years, the last two times we’ve went this past month haven’t been good. The first time, I got chicken and broccoli and barely had any chicken and my husband barely had any beef.
This place has gone wayyyyy down hill! It’s also wayyy over priced, $35 for fried rice and chicken with broccoli, literally all I ordered. I use to go so figured I’d pay the amount since most places on the island are terrible and I knew
Delicious drinks in a fabulously retro setting with a huge menu of options. Between two people, we got the Jade Island Special, the Pina Colada, the Headhunter and the Scorpion. If you get a separate glass and combine equal parts of the
Just had a delicious dinner here. We ordered the Jade Island chicken, beef and scallops, fried dumplings, wanton soup, and pan fried seafood noodles. Everything was good except for the pan fried noodles. The noodles were too salty. The
Oh fun! The place is marvelously kitchie...tiki bar meets old style chinese restaurant. I loved it. None of us had tiki cocktails but they looked fabulous. It's been quite some time since I was offered fried noodles to dip in sweet and
I'm changing this review. I went on sunday October 6, I specifically asked multiple times does the eggplant and garlic sauce have pork and the waiter said no. I reheated some today and there was pork shredded in it and also cubed.
I wouldnt even give them one star. Their bbq ribs were saturated with coconut grease. When i saved some for later it was a block of grease and meat. Definitely not tasty at all. I wont be coming back More
The wait staff is so friendly and attentive. The food is terrific and with the Family Special that includes the best pistachio ice cream. Been coming here since the 90's and would recommend. More
Super fun restaurant with great food and cool drinks. Our server was friendly and really made us feel welcome. We ordered too much food!! Will absolutely go back. Loved the egg rolls❤️ More
This time we got the Jade Island family package for four, and it comes with four choices from two columns of selections; as well as rice, soup, egg rolls, and dessert for each person.
This old school Chinese restaurant in a Staten Island strip mall is a classic. Even the late Anthony Bourdain has been here and approved. The food is classic American Chinese food.
Drinks were definitely 10/10 drinks were on point! But the food definitely over price and soup tasted very unseasoned and bland but the service was great
First time trying. Really good, pretty good prices. Quick take out order. Will visit again and try some different next time! Worth checking out! More
I've going here since I was a kid and it's still just as good. Even though I no longer live on Staten Island, I still stop by when I'm in town. More
This place hasn’t changed since I was a kid (back in the 1970’s) and that’s a great thing! Great Chinese food served in a fun setting. More
Amazing Chinese fare on the Island Great Management, great atmosphere The BEST Piña Colada Drinks we’ve had in all of NYC!
Bad experience! This is second time I ordered their food. I don't know what was that (black) but definitely not parts of fried rice More
This place still looks like it was 20 years ago, maybe longer. I had The Love Nest it was delicious. Enjoyed all the food. More
Always a great way. Kids love it, nothing fancy, just good old Chinese food , you will never go back to take our places again
Best place on the entire Island of Staten! Excellent food, affordable prices and an exceptional dining experience ! More
The restaurant has plenty of staff who are very attentive and accommodating. The food is consistent and good. More
Food was delivered and the egg foo young was so burnt it was an edible! It was so burnt, was actually crunchy!
