I got up one day and decided to do some work in my yard I googled the local hardware store and I usually go to Home Depot for anything I need but this place was closer so I went there to get a 4 inch drill bit and when I asked for the price they quoted $300 seem kind of expensive to me even though I didn't understand much about Drillbits so I googled the item and it came up approximately $125 cheaper than Home Depot and $210 cheaper from an Ebay seller so basically for the same amount that this hardware store wanted to charge me I could have purchased three of the same item and still have had $30 left over. I feel this place was trying to rip me off, their prices are marked three times higher than an online purchase would cost you and about 50% higher than what you can spend in Home Depot. The only way I might go back to this place is if all other locations burn. They are very good with words but they will definitely overcharge you. Tired of wandering around a big box store like Home Depot for help or to find an item or two? Go directly to Jere's Hardware on the side of the LIE west a few blocks from Utopia Parkway - worth the trip from anywhere. Need a specific screw or nut? Need just one or two or many - they have them and they will help you find it. They have everything and then some, but it isn't just that that makes this store the most excellent store in Queens, maybe NYC, it's because they always help you to find what you are looking for personally, show you the different options they may have for that item and if you need help using the item, they will show you how to use it. But, for years Jere's Hardware Store is a local store easy to find and always in stock of what you need to complete your project. Those behind the counter treat the homeowner equally as they do the commercial client. The stuff they have inside their store just about covers all jobs. The most amazing thing is that other well known businesses highly recommend Jere's Hardware as the go to store whe the locals find out what they need dont have in stock. Unless it's a Saturday afternoon, or Sunday I always go here first when I need something. I have only purchased small items, and I have never felt ripped off. I'm fairly sure you can certainly get many items a few percentage points cheaper from a big store or online, but these smaller stores have a level of customer service that is needed in a community and we can't let die. Spend the extra 3% and buy local. I'll be there soon for some paint for my bathroom and some kind of adhesive to stick some broken bath tiles back to the wall. I know they will help me pick out the right stuff.

The staff there are absolutely amazing. You walk in, tell them what you’re looking for or what your problem is and they help you. THEY HELP YOU. Every time I’ve gone there the expertise and service has been on level I have never experienced in another hardware store, heck virtually any store. My only complaint is they close at 5PM so I can’t go more often!! Seriously, skip the big box stores. This local spot is, well, THE spot. It is my number one choice for my hardware needs (when I can get there in time).

This is THE hardware store to go to for anything you need. Helpful patient staff, excellent inventory. If they don't have what you need they will let you know where you can find it if they can't get it for you. After trying to get 3 new garbage cans from Amazon, Ebay, and Home Depot I went to Jere's and they had exactly what I wanted and delivered them the same day! Don't waste your time here. Prices are much higher than anywhere nearby but most importantly the workers there are rude and couldn't take a second to point me in the direction of what I was asking for. They'll walk by you and pretend not to hear you and when you speak up they'll say "Not now, buddy" or "I'm busy right now, I can't help you" and this is asking 2 different employees a single question. Never, ever going back there again and I recommend you don't either.

Customer service isn’t the greatest. The woman couldnt multitask. For example : I asked where paint swatches are, she couldn’t answer and ring her registry at same time. She said one moment. I waited at least 10 minutes for an answer. Walked around looking. I said ma’am can you direct me to the swatches.... Again, one moment. It’s a question ANSWER IT. I walked out. The place WAS NOT busy at all. Respectfully seek out a gentleman! Much nicer and professional.

After Home Depot has pretty much closed down all mom and pop hardware stores it's great to see places like Jere's Hardware still around. It seems that Jere's has everything you need to build and maintain a home or a house. I went to cut some keys the other day and I got them cut in less than two minutes and the gentleman told me to come back if it did work. If I was in Home Depot I would have waited at least a half an hour.

Store is neat and well-stocked. Huge store, although you can't tell when you first walk in and give a cursory glance. About five to six people available at the counter to help you, and they will come out from behind and walk you all over the store to help you find what you need. Very helpful, friendly, courteous, knowledgeable staff. I have been coming here for years, and will continue to do so.

Jere's Hardware has a wide variety of hardware from simple appliance repairs to general construction. They have a particularly large selection of paint options, specializing in Benjamin Moore products. The staff is more knowable and courteous than typical big box stores. Their prices are very reasonable even when compared to big box and online hardware stores.

The best hardware store that I’ve experienced,they have so much merchandise to choose from ,they are so organized,and clean (u can eat off from the floor),there is always parking in front of the store,they are so friendly and professional ,and VERY VERY helpful,I tell everyone I know about them cause they deserve more customers....they are good people

I was struggling to cut some metal pipes for a BBQ awning for a few days, I thought I’d head over to this hardware store to see if they could help me, I believe the owner was the one who helped me (a tall charismatic gentleman). The service,product and the price are second to none. Well trained stuff,very professional and costumers oriented. I was in my business over 45 years and I never experienced anything like that. No place like it. Just like the old days. Family-owned, everyone knows their stuff, you can buy one nail for $0.05 if you want. Such a delight, especially in the age of Home Depot. My father used to go there, now I do for all my Hardware needs. Everyone is really friendly and helpful.

Went to Jere’s hardware to look at snowthrowers. The salesman took his time with me explaining the difference between the models which they carried. I purchased one, it was delivered the same day and I was shown how to operate it. Thank you for going the extra mile.

This is a real hardware store. This is a store where professionals go to get their tools and parts. You get service here, it's not Home Depot. You can buy one or two screws if that's all you need or you can buy a box. This is the way a hardware store is operated.

Neighborhood hardware store. Good place to go to for a quite fix on you hardware need. They got a decent collection of tools and hardware. Not saying they got the best price, but hey when you need something quick a couple of bucks don't really matter.

Since I was part of the Francis Lewis HS Robotics Team, Capt in senior year . I went there periodically in a week. The staff there is nice and Helpful. If they don't have it they'll make a call , get the parts in with-in a week.
