Absolutely delighted at our experience today! Ordered ahead and food was hot, fresh, and ready at the specified time. I ordered the Falafel and Baba Ghanoush sandwich with extra fries (pictured). Falafel was perfectly seasoned and crispy, with a generous portion of creamy and delicious baba ghanoush. Fries had the perfect crunch and delightful flavoring. Boyfriend got a Chicken Gyro Sandwich with fries and greek salad (pictured). He’s not a veggie person but smashed the entire salad! He said the chicken was tender, juicy, and super flavorful. Not only was the food delicious, the staff and atmosphere were also perfection! Clean and cozy interior, tasteful decor, and awesome music. Every staff member from the kitchen to front of house smiled and greeted us (which is rare these days!). We ordered extra sauce and the hostess ran it out to the car after realizing it wasn’t in our bag! 10/10 recommend and we will absolutely be back to try more items!

We ate at the Jerusalem Cafe in Liberty MO. we were greeted as soon as we entered the restaurant. Hazem was our server. he was the BEST waiter we have EVER experienced! he thoroughly explained the menu and answered all of our questions! he treated all of us like family and not just customers. it was amazing! the food was made quick, and was piping hot and all fresh! Hazem explained that the food is all made from scratch and cooked to order. All of the food had FANTASTIC flavor and took our breath away with how good it was! We ordered the Chicken Pastry Plate and a Vegetarian Feast. after serving us a wonderful dinner, he brought us the most amazing dessert and checked up on us multiple times throughout our meal. Hazem treated us like family even though it was the first time we have ever met him. this experience of great food and service puts this restaurant in our top favorite. we will be coming back and we will bring more friends and family to experience how great Jerusalem Cafe truly is! I highly recommend it to anyone and ask if Hazem Is working! He was truly wonderful!

You get all the typical middle eastern dishes like shawarma and gyros and humus and falafel, plus Turkish coffee, baklava, and their delicious lentils soup. You must try their flaming cheese appetizer but you may fight for the crust that forms on the bottom as they have also a little bit sliced onions and tomatoes for the flaming cheese. Don't expect anything from the movie Aladin or Sheherazada for the interior but they have plenty if seating arrangements that can accommodate single diners, couples that can be comfortable in their booths or larger groups can be seated at tables. Ask for Hazem to serve you and you will get a Michelin-level service and attention! If you ask him about cooking, get ready for ideas that you can try at home on your own! Highly recommend the place as we've been back many times and will be back again!

We ordered the combo appetizer, flaming cheese, and a mixed gyro. The hummus was amazing one of the best I’ve ever had. The baba ghanoush was great and dolmas were very good. The falafel was the best I’ve ever had, I loved them so much. We had the flaming cheese which was very good. The pita is warm and soft. The gyro was good. Greek salad had a lot of citrus notes, we enjoyed it. But we ordered the rice with the gyro and there is no reason why rice should be so amazing!!!! It was warm, fluffy, flavorful, and just stupid good. I could have eaten a bucket of the rice. Services was fast and friendly. Establishment was very clean. I will be coming back for sure and trying new items on the menu along with getting hummus, falafels, and rice again. They are too good to pass up!

We were excited to go in and eat yesterday afternoon. Unfortunately, it was an awful experience. A person that worked there (appeared to us to possibly be an owner or manager) had their child at work with them. He was adorable, but he was walking around on tabletops with dirty shoes on - seriously - where customers eat. He was loudly throwing pitchers across the room -seriously - what customers drink out of. He was screaming at the top of his lungs. And the worker didn't seem to care and didn't even acknowledge the impact on our meal. Outrageous! And SURELY a million health code violations. I don't think I can ever go back, and that's sad, because it was a family favorite. We often had large family meals there, but no more.

When I have to start my visit by wiping my own seat down because it's sticky, I should have known to just walk out. Service was horrific, she literally couldn't remember 3 waters and a hot tea. She would put things down and practically run away without asking us if we needed anything. She brought our soups and salads with our entrees which caused us to try to eat everything at the same time. Never checked on us to see if we needed refills or napkins, but surely came around when it was time to settle the bill. She kept apologizing when she did come around, keep your sorries to yourself and do your job. They were way too worried about to go and Door Dash orders. If that's your concern, then just do take out only. We will never be back to this location again.

Was hoping to enjoy this restaurant, with high ratings and positive reviews from others. Unfortunately, it was mediocre in so many ways. The service was very slow, it took such a while just to receive our hummus and salad. We had to point out finished dishes multiple times. I'm loathe to do this, but we were simply out of room. 2 stars for service, only because the staff was pleasant when they were at the table. The food was bland; every dish was under-seasoned: the lentil soup, flaming cheese, rice, and the pita! No crisp to the Gyro meat, it's disappointing. Seems like it was all from a "restaurants 'r' us supplier", with no personality. The fries were pretty good though. The prices are high for what is offered here.

They have indoor and cute Patio seating. 1st time there, our server was Mika and she gave the upmost best recommendations about the Flaming Cheese- literally comes out to your tasaffron rice. Along with Pita Bread. Tasted so yummy. We went for early lingerie time and ordered the lamp schwarma and chicken kabob. We had no idea you can choose lentil soup or greek salad. You also get yellow safron rice. For dessert, Mika recommended Baklava. We had a wonderful experience there! Thank you Mika!

I am a LONGTIME devotee of the original Westport locations, so for mother's day (a day late) we decided to try out the Liberty location through GrubHub. Unfortunately my chicken gyro arrived as lamb, which I can't eat. Considering the occasion and the expense, I went ahead and called the restaurant to see if I could get a replacement sandwich. I cannot tell you enough how wonderful they are!!! Even though I felt awkward about calling, Jacqueline was SO nice, so apologetic, and not only made a new gyro but brought it right to my house!! Included was a handwritten note with a piece of heaven inside <3 That alone has endeared me to this location - not to mention that the lentil soup? Perfect. Salad? Perfect. And when I finally got that chicken gyro...OMG HEAVEN! Thank you so much Jacqueline and staff! We will definitely be seeing you again!

Went with my sister today. She has gluten allergies and I am gluten intolerant. Staff was very helpful in steering us to gluten free options. Food was amazing as always! We had a bran new waitress that had only been there a week. She was such a sweetheart. Hands down the best service we have ever had! We will be back. Did I mention that the food is awesome!!

Wonderful for subbing pita with fresh vegetables. I had the Gyro meat. Note to severe gluten allergic that their is grain in this. I had because I can tolerate once in a great while.

Tasty food, although the combo gyro seemed to taste like the chicken shawarma, according to one member in our party. The Gyros Platter entree is highly recommended. Service was excellent by Nadia. We only wish they offered sweet tea alongside the unsweetened tea they have available. Was not too crowded when we arrived. We like the booth tables on the left side of the restaurant upon entering: more cozy and private.

1st time going to the Jerusalem Cafe, was looking for lamb gyros and there menu sounds authentic. Went in placed my take out order and waited. After a few minutes the order was ready. Took it home and was very surprised when I opened it. The supposedly authentic award winning gyros was thin strips of tasteless beef. See attached pictures. I asked for the tazihki sauce on the side (very awful overpowering taste of dill) which was supposed to be refreshing and full of cucumber. I've had authentic gyros in New York and Los Angeles, even Arby's tastes better and are seasoned correctly. Needless to say I won't be returning to Jerusalem Cafe.

I am so sorry, I cannot give more than 3 stars for this meal, but I am also the most critical person to rate this place, I have been to Greece and Cypress, and I have been eating Lebanese food for years, so my expectations are very high! I personally think that the humus was to watery and bland. The lamb/beef gyros did not have enough flavor and the tzatziki did not have any power, and don’t let me get started about the fries, they were stale when we got home after a short drive from the restaurant! As I said I have very high expectations because of my previous experience with middle eastern food, I know how it taste when it is top quality, for some people this might be the best they have ever had, and that is great for them. Not make the detour!

  • Laith Amekir

First time having Gyros and as it was referenced once in one of my favorite shows. So I took the wife to try and we had Dana who even though she was pulling a double shift, she was prompt polite and fantastically delightful. The food itself was amazing, easily in my top five restaurants and I've only been once. The portion sizes were beyond filling as we had to get to go boxes. Thanks for a very positive experience, we look forward to returning soon. The Fowlers P.s. I told my wife to smile, I stead she took another bite it's that good.

We went to Jerusalem Cafe when friends highly recommended we check it out. I was hesitant, but I was so glad we went. Everything we ordered was delicious. The flaming cheese was so good with the fresh pita bread. We also had the combination kobob plate. The shrimp was perhaps the best shrimp I've ever had in my life. The chicken was good, but a little dry. We also had cheese manakeesh that was delicious. The atmosphere was nice. We went with a group of 16 friends. It was easy to visit as there was no music playing. The restaurant is very clean. Our servers were so attentive to our needs and very friendly. Highly recommend. It's a little spendy. Our meal came to $52.

I don't take pics of my food, I just eat it. :-) And Jerusalem Cafe is my new favorite restaurant! The lentil soup was creamy and well- seasoned, the steak kabob sandwich (the pita bread was yummy) was seasoned just right and the fries were crispy and hot-- the serving size was actually too much for this fry-lover, lol. Prices were reasonable in this day and age (my lunch, including drink, was right at 20 bucks with tax before tip. Tax in Liberty is over 11 percent, which is insane imo). Can't wait to try the hummus, etc.

Excellent and attentive service, and a great meal. We just had to try the Jerusalem dinner feast, and it did not disappoint. The hummus was excellent, creamy and smooth, the falafel was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the naan was excellent. The chicken was delicious and definitely my favorite. Very juicy and well seasoned, although on one of the bites I did detect a bit of a pinkish hue to look out for. The gyro was flavorful and well done, and the kabob had a nice balance to it as well. I'm not much of one for lamb, but it was quite tender for a typically tougher meat. The baklava was also very generous for dessert and served warm and gooey.

First time visit, came here for a delayed anniversary dinner along with our 6 yr old and 2 yr old. Food was excellent all around. Both children loved the lentil soup, hummus, pita, kabobs, rice. Our server Hazem, who is from Jordan, was very personable, and knowledgeable. Shared great insights and recommendations about the menu. Atmosphere was very pleasant with authentic music that you could hear, but not too loud like many places where you have to yell to be heard. Finished dinner with baklava and Turkish coffee and were not disappointed. We will be making Jerusalem Cafe a regular spot.

We dined in tonight and let the waitress know we would be placing a few items to go after we finished our meal. The waitress told her to give her 7-10 minutes heads up when we were ready for the to go portion. We waited almost an hour for the food and were told the kitchen was backed up with to go orders. Advice to management: prioritize dine-in orders and not the to go orders. We saw several tables get up and walk out due to the wait times, I would have too if I had known how long of a wait it would be.

Delicious and authentic Middle Eastern cuisine! The flaming cheese (haloumi served on a hot skillet) was a show stopper, and tastes even better than it looks (which is awesome - see the video)! Perfectly creamy hummus and herbaceous falafel. My wife loved the baba ganoush, while I thoroughly enjoyed the sumac chicken on my flatbread. The service was perfect. We were visiting from out of town and would gladly return any time we're in the area.

We had a good experience at Jerusalem Cafe! Always happy to see restaurants usually found downtown or south of the river open up in the Northland! It wasn't a busy day when we visited for lunch and our server was very helpful with choosing dishes. She suggested we try the lentil soup, which we initially were not interested in, but I'm so glad we tried it because it was yummy! Here is what we ordered: {Chicken Kabob} - served with sautéed vegetables, fries, & salad {Gyros Sandwich} - served with herb spiced rice & lentil soup (creamy and comforting, not chunky like I thought it would be!)

Went to the Cafe for lunch today. The food was fabulous. I have celiac disease, so I am unable to eat food with gluten. My server Hazem was fabulous in making sure my food was prepared and served safely and took great care of us. The food was hot and tasted great. The only negative was the dining room was too chilly.

My family has been here several times, and every time has been amazing! The fries are great, and the shawarma is so good. This time was especially good as our waiter Hazem was so friendly and guided us through the menu and what to order. He was very attentive to our dietary restrictions and went the extra mile to ensure we were accommodated. We would come back to see Hazem! Thanks so much, we had a great experience.

Three of us dined with Jerusalem Cafe. Hamez was our server. Although I had been there before, and was very happy with the experience, dining with Hamez was like taking a self-guided tour versus hiring an expert guide. His recommendations were excellent and the three of us left raving about the food and the experience. Ask for Hamez. You'll be glad you did.

Love the one downtown and this one didn't disappoint. We started off with hummus and pita, which is a must as a starter there. Fresh hummus just hits different. Just be careful not to load up on the pita cause especially for the meat entrees, portion size is big. I suggest getting the Greek salad and lentil soup as the starter side, so good. We had the curry chicken entree and the chicken shwarma sandwich. 10/10 have always and will always recommend.

Worse service I have ever had. We actually walked out without placing a drink order. We were seated. Then sat there for 20 minutes. No one ever looked at me let alone ask if I want water or idk maybe FOOD? After 20 minutes of waiting for nothing another couple came in sat down and instantly got water and took their order. I'll take my money somewhere else thanks for nothing.

So sad that the space has nothing connected to the culture, looks like American burger restaurant inside beside 2 photos of Jerusalem… The food was good, but baklava totally American style, no pistachios in it and just cinnamon flavored which is not baklava. I’m pretty disappointed… so that’s why I’m giving 3. with the kitchen should go also cultural vibe of the place. Why did you stop having shisha?

All I can say is yikes we went there for lunch today and we left before our drinks had even come out. If you cant be properly staffed then you shouldn’t be open. We waited 15+ minutes for someone to come over to take our drink order. Another 10+ minutes waiting for our drinks and we decided how extremely ridiculous to be at an establishment for 30 minutes still waiting for our WATER, we were not going to be spending our money at a place with such poor customer service.

Melted a lot of holes in the container. Need to put something under the fries for “to-go” orders. Eating the contents of a melted foam container one time is unlikely to cause harm; however, repeated exposure, which can be cumulative, can be a health risk.

We had an awesome, flavorful meal at Jerusalem Cafe with my parents. Hazem was a great server - engaging, friendly, helpful and really gave my parents (in their 80s) a great, memorable time. I can't recommend the food highly enough! From appetizers to desserts, we were treated.

Incredible, authentic, Arabic and Mediterranean food. If you want a little bit of everything, try their Jerusalem dinner feast. The most authentic hummus in KC. The pita bread is outstanding. If you want a unique hot drink try the Turkish coffee. If you want something cool try the lemon mint.

We looked at the highest rated restaurant near to the LDS temple, It was the Jerusalem Cafe with a 4.6. I had the Gyro platter and my wife had the appetizer sampler. We had the wrapped spinach as an appetizer.

Excellent middle eastern food. Maybe the best I've tried in the Kansas City area. The gyros sandwich was really good and the fries are addictive. The flatbread with cheese is also incredible. I highly recommend this place.

This was our first trip. You can either order on your own or with a wonderful person. The hummus and pita bread are amazing. We got the two meat skewer and shared with two people. The Greek salad was so good. Loved it!

Horrible and very poor customer service. I normally do not write bad reviews but server was super weird she seems to be friendly to other guests but I guess she didn’t like my presence for whatever reason lol I still left you a tip so you’re welcome

So delicious! Can’t go wrong with the gyros with rice. But you have to have the sage tea and don’t leave without having the Kunafa with ice cream for dessert!

The food and service was excellent , and I'm happy they opened a restaurant in this part of the city.Having lived and worked in middle east, I can say that the food here is authentic. They also items like submarine sandwiches, fries etc.

Delicious food! Giant containers for lemonade drinks with one free refill. It’s very casual dining here. They badly need window shades to keep the sun from blazing into everyone’s eyes in the summer. Otherwise great!

What an incredible meal. Authentic as it gets and service was fantastic. It's one of those places where you end up ordering more and taking most home. Really glad we came across this place. Excellent poop.
