I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the Jhalana Leopard Safari in Jaipur, and I can confidently say that it was an unforgettable adventure. Here's a detailed review of my incredible experience: Booking and Logistics Booking the safari was a breeze, thanks to their user-friendly online platform. The process was smooth, and the instructions provided were clear. On the day of the safari, the meeting point in Malviya Nagar was easy to find, and the staff were punctual and organized. Knowledgeable Guides Our safari guide was a true expert in the local wildlife. They provided us with a wealth of information about the region's flora and fauna, making the experience both educational and exciting. Their passion for conservation was evident throughout the tour. Wildlife Sighting The highlight, of course, was the chance to spot leopards in their natural habitat. Jhalana is home to a significant population of leopards, and I was fortunate enough to witness several of these majestic cats. The thrill of seeing these elusive creatures up close is beyond words. Besides leopards, we also saw various other wildlife species, including blue bulls, peacocks, and numerous bird species. Photography Opportunities For photography enthusiasts, this safari is a dream come true. The open gypsy vehicles provided excellent vantage points for capturing stunning shots of the wildlife. Just be sure to bring your camera or smartphone fully charged, as you won't want to miss any photo opportunities. Safety and Comfort Safety is a top priority here. The safari vehicles are well-maintained, and the drivers are skilled and cautious. They provide ample safety instructions to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience. Additionally, the open vehicles allow for a more immersive and thrilling safari adventure. Overall Experience In conclusion, Jhalana Leopard Safari in Malviya Nagar, Jaipur, is a must-visit for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts. It offers an exceptional opportunity to connect with nature, witness magnificent leopards, and support vital conservation efforts. I left with a deep appreciation for the beauty and biodiversity of this region and a strong desire to return. This safari is a true gem in the heart of Jaipur, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking a unique and enriching adventure.

Not worth it at all. Not a single animal was found. Visit a zoo instead. The place is very small, hardly some 10-15 km ride. I don't know if the reviews are purchased or real, but i visited the park on 16th november during evening safari. First of , agents run a very big scam. Beware, the price per person is 784/- don't pay a penny more, no matter what they say. (Even paying 784/- was a waste). Next make sure u get an authentic guide. We were given someone local who used to run e-rickshaw as our driver-cum-guide for the safari. He neither knew the animals, nor the place or the routes. We thought due to a fake guide-cum-driver we did not see any animal. But later we came to know that no one saw any animals, ANY ANIMALS, Not even monkeys. At the end we came across a few nilgai dat too outside the national park borders. Later on enquiring with locals, they said there are no animals over there. All these are scams. Its better to go to ranthambore or some other safari. Overall, on visiting, my personal recommendation will be a big no. Dont waste ur time, energy and money for this place. Its very small and every once in a while u will see buildings and traffic, so forget about the peace and calm of forest. No animals seen. I understand its not possible to have a sighting of leopard always, but some animals should be visible at least deers, nilgais, few birds, monkeys. Here, none could be seen. Its better to visit Ranthambhore, sariska and other safaris. Don't visit here, go a zoo instead.

Jhalana Leopard Safari reminded me of the Mumbai Aarey colony. This Reserve too is in the centre of the city where the wild cats leave the jungle in search of food in the city, street dogs are their meal. We booked the safari from the Oberoi Rajvilas Jaipur and it was a very easy process as our identity details were shared by the hotel and the jeep arrived on time for pick up. There was no wait and we entered the park smoothly. Soon as we entered the harsh summer heat just vanished with the cool breeze from the forest inviting us. We missed an opportunity to see our first leopard (flora) who just passed us as we all looked in different directions lesson learnt. Next was Rana the show off of the reserve as all guides name him. He watched, counted the jeeps and then decided to do the catwalk and then the leap, what a show. As all other jeeps decided to follow Rana we took another way to look out for other animals but luck favoured us and we met Rani (2 1/5 years old) shy and yet curiously watching us as we kept looking at her in excitement as we were the only jeep to see her. We did not want to disturb her much and went on, saw a jungle hare, spotted deer, neelgai, birds and monkeys. It was such a beautiful experience. (My pictures don't do justice to the place as i was holding my kids so please excuse me)

A must visit place for the shear experience of the safari, even if you don’t spot a leopard. This is NOT a Zoo, so please set your expectations. Leopard is an extremely shy cat to spot in its natural habitat, and this place is exactly that. The staff that drive you around in 4-seater open air Jeep for about 2.5 hr are amazingly knowledgeable, and will go out of their way to enrich your safari experience if you give them a chance. They spotted predator birds and various animals in this jungle while we were constantly looking out for leopards. There can be 8-10 jeeps that drive around at the same time (6:30 am or 3 pm) and they communicate with each other for any sightings. We experienced the Neelgai (a large deer) calling out the presence of a leopard and aggressively moving out of the area, just like you watch in National Geographic documentaries. One of the 10 jeeps spotted a leopard sub-adult, but that young one knew how to stay hidden and absolutely still in a thick grass covering for over an hour. For the 6:30 am safari, come prepared with warm clothing (gloves, monkey cap if you cannot tolerate cold) as if you are going to a snow-country. Temperatures can be in low 40F, but windchill while driving will be near freezing temperatures. If the drivers offer a blanket for nominal fee, take it— you will not repent.

Jhalana Leopard Safari offers an extraordinary wildlife experience within the city limits of Jaipur. The juxtaposition of untamed nature against the backdrop of urban life creates a unique and mesmerizing setting. As you embark on the safari, the thrill of encountering leopards in their natural habitat is akin to stepping into a scene from a Hollywood movie. The landscape unfolds like a captivating story, with rugged terrain and dense vegetation providing the perfect camouflage for these elusive big cats. The safari not only showcases the majestic leopards but also offers a glimpse into the diverse ecosystem they inhabit, including various bird species and other wildlife. It's a surreal escape into the wild, seamlessly blending the wilderness with the urban sprawl, making Jhalana Leopard Safari a must-visit for nature enthusiasts and those seeking a thrilling adventure within the heart of Jaipur.

This Safari has probably the highest number of leopards per square kilometre compared to any other, thereby making it highly likely to spot one. This review is also a part guide to increase your chances of leopard spotting. Leopards will mostly come out during early morning or early evening hours (soon after sunrise and before sunset) , and thus are likely to be seen around this time. While they may be spotted at other times as well, but the likelihood reduces. We got a glimpse of 2 leopards on a hill top in a single safari , most likely a mother and child. We also saw spotted deers, multiple peacocks, a mongoose, and many many neel gaain. You have options of taking a shared safari or a private one, this obviously does not change the likelihood of a spotting, but can make a ride more serene and at the additional cost. Keep your ears and eyes open for calls of other animals that will help you identify where a leopard movement might have happened.

Important update: Book this safari via the official Rajasthan wildlife gov website. There are many private websites claiming as official and charging 5x times the original fee. (Gov.in website) https://fmdss.forest.rajasthan.gov.in/ One of a kind jungle that is surrounded by the buzzing pink city - Jaipur. They take you via the Jeep and the drivers are really passionate in animal spotting even though they have been doing it for many years. Attached pic shows the leopard we saw on a watch tower just few mins from entrance. Best time: Evening safaris It gets a bit cold in the open jeep so a jacket is advisable. Go at least one hour before the actual time with the ticket printed out and photo ID. They are punctual and strict. The mini museum outside gives you a lot of info on the area and leopards.

⚠️ Warning: -Tickets need to be booked in advance from the government website only as you might get highly overcharged by 3rd party agents - https://fmdss.forest.rajasthan.gov.in/ -Buying tickets does not guarantee that you will see a leopard so manage your expectations accordingly -However, the place does boast a very high leopard spotting chance as compared to any other reserved forests in Jaipur's vicinity Perfect mix of Nature's lap just minutes away from a bustling city. I did catch a small glimpse of it but not enough to get pictures. Safari drivers tell me that summers are easier since you can spot them near water sources. Species I did encounter were the Eurasian Sparrow Hawk and the Pallid Scops Owl which were a first for me.

Wonderful jungle for sighting Leopards. Rates are around 750 per person. Drivers are much helpful and courteous. Most important is the lack of transport out from here after an evening safari. Make sure you have arrangements in place for the return journey after every evening safari No taxis autos available nearby and the UBER always reply "no drivers available".
खेल का मैदान
Its not a playground Its a National park means a forest
शौचालय
Available at entrance. No options inside jungle and for during 3 hours of safari you're not allowed to step out of the jeep
पालतू कुत्तों के लिए सुविधाएं
Not allowed... Moreover if you take them they'll become easy prey for the leopards.. Its a safari park.. Means forest.

I will give 10 stars to my experience and the hospitality I received. I saw four leopards and two hyenas in one safari in addition to many other animals and birds. I was able to get so close to them and see one of the hyenas submitting to another one. When my guide was explaining about the mammals and birds, I could see how well he is informed of the wildlife. Another fun part of the safari was siting on the back seat of the jeep - Sometimes my driver would drive very very slow during animal calls and sometimes fast. Also I liked the custom made gypsy of the WoW team. It was very comfortable. I would highly recommend everyone visiting Jaipur Jhalana Safari if you are in Jaipur and team WoW for their services.... It was the unforgettable experience.. I have only one word WOW.

Extremely Good place. I went there with my friends it was a very nice experience. We started at 4:45 on advise of fellow forest officers . The guide with us were well trained and acquainted. First We had a tour of zone -2 which is famous for leopards movement in the evening but we had no luck. After that we went in zone again and this time we had seen RANA giving us poses at Arjun talai. It was so wonderful to watch the whole predator and prey Showoff. After the we went to shikaraudhi and the view is very magnificent from the top. We were lucky to see flora moving towards the gate. We quietly followed her the whole way in the open gypsy, it was the best experience of safari i have ever had.

We went here by chance when in Jaipur and looking for things to do. Our next stop was Ranthambore but what better than to go and try and see leopards just outside Jaipur. We booked with Jhalana leopard safaris. I don't speak Hindi, only Gujarati. Our guide for the afternoon ride was Shambu. Very keen to show us the leopards and seemed to know where to find them. We were lucky enough to see one from about 100 metre whilst it was resting in the first floor of a tower. Hard to tell from the photograph, but lovely to see in real life. We saw a lot of other animals as well, but it really was a great way to spend a few hours and Jhalana leopard safaris made it very easy to do as well.

  • Alice Cooke

Went on a safari with this company this morning. We didn't get to see leopards but that's the beautiful of wild animals. I was really worried this wouldn't be as animal friendly as it sounded given the treatment/animal abuse of elephants in jaipur but it really is conservation work at its finest. They are proving that leopard's can live in such close proximity to humans. The reserve is fenced but the leopard's are able to leave the reserve if they wanted. The driver was really friendly, very informative. I wish I had more time in jaipur to have gone on another safari here!!

  • saurabh pandey

I was absolutely astonished to discover that right in the heart of Jaipur City, there exists a leopard safari. The convenience of booking everything online without a hitch was truly impressive. The team behind this venture made exceptional arrangements. In fact, we had the privilege of spotting leopards on more than five occasions during our safari. Special kudos to Rohit Ji, our safari driver, who displayed exceptional skill and knowledge. Our family had an incredible and unforgettable experience thanks to this extraordinary adventure.

So after a long time since Ranthambore, the bug cats of India did not disappoint us. After a gap of nearly 9 years and countless trips to Jim Corbett, thr Jhalana Leopard Safari came to fruition when the majestic leopard Rana and his partner Chanda graced us with their presence. And short stroll, a make belief mating attempt and a big growl - was enough to entertain the visitors.

Beautiful forest, Jhalana Leopard Safari Park is only leopard conservation reserve in the country. Well maintained by the forest department. Guides are very humble. The park is home to a large population of leopards. We did three safaries and were lucky enough to spot a leopard sitting uphill. Apart from leopard we saw lots of nilgai, peacocks, northern langur, dear, Spotted owlet, francolin, Rose-ringed parakeet etc. Instagram : manikdas2020. Great experience. I hope to visit again.

I had the incredible opportunity to visit Jhalana on a recent trip to India, and it was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. I was lucky enough to see several leopards during my safari, including one that walked right up to our jeep! The leopards were incredibly beautiful and majestic, and it was truly awe-inspiring to see them in their natural habitat.

It was a magical experience… The park is only 23 square kilometres and is right next to the busy city however, it holds an incredible amount of wildlife. During the safari, we saw axis deer, nilgai, northern langur, leopards and a great amount of bird life including kingfishers, hoopoes and peafowls. Other than that, the reserve is clean and well managed and the staff are warm and welcoming. Thanks to Mr Summit and our amazing driver this safari was possible!

Jaipur truly has leopards !! We saw 2 (a couple) together in the morning safari. The Rajasthan government operates the online booking site so easily tickets can be booked in advance. The Jhalana Leopard Safari or Jhalana Leopard Safari Park is India's 1st Leopard Reserve located in Jaipur city of Rajasthan. I had done 6 safaris with one of the most experienced photographers in that area, Chinmaya Saxena. One can expect to see a leopard almost every safari if one visits in a favourable time (typically March-April). Do tip the driver if you are lucky enough to see one.
शौचालय
There is a well-maintained restroom outside the park

  • Shobha Iyer

The park as such is very peaceful and welcoming. We spotted some deers ,nil gai or blue bull, peacocks, monitor lizard and mongoose. The main attraction here is the leopard which they say comes out around 6pm after resting for the day. The jeep is an open jeep which sort of makes it a bit scary for some. However, locals say that no worry some incidents have occurred. I personally felt that they should provide completely closed jeeps for more safety.

  • Brad Frewin

Great place and you know your money is going to supporting wildlife. On arrival they ask you to wait in a big room with lots of info on leopards. Basically a leopard musuem. Then you jump in a car and off you go. Some are electric hopefully they all will be. Now the day out is dependent on what you see, but remember they are animals and not performers. I saw a leopard, so felt very lucky. Few other animals to see as well. 2000rp we paid.

  • Sucheta Das

I would consider myself really lucky since we got to witness two leopards. One female was having a Nilgai and another male in the mountains. Many people are not aware of this reserve but it's not very far and within the city limits of Jaipur. We went in the evening safari and would recommend to book your safari slot in advance.

Worth the visit, especially in the rainy season when you’re surrounded by lush green forest and leopards are almost always sighted. Just make sure to cover yourself completely, hands and feet too with socks and shoes as there are a lot of insects/mosquitoes and the bites can lead to severe allergies!!

We went for an evening Safari and Sumit Juneja accompanied us. It was a 2.5 hour Safari and we saw 4 leopards, lots of neelgai and peacocks, tortoises, some exquisite birds, langurs in plenty and a hare. Sumit and the driver were very patient in ensuring that we got good sightings and especially took care of our elderly mum. I hope to visit again in better season. Thank you Sumit for the wonderful experience.

We never thought that we would see such greenery around in Jaipur. Amazing journey, saw two Leopards. Advanced tickets taken which made it easier and guide was absolutely amazing. My family loved it. Highly recommended. Available in morning and evening slots Only. Prior booking recommended. It takes 2.5 hours for the trip so bake in time accordingly. 6 seater vehicles available for trip. Wonderfull trip.

Awesome place just 10km from Jaipur city centre. Good drivers , reasonable price. Would definitely visit here again,as per drivers it's better to visit evening rather then morning. Sighting is based on luck this is not an enclosure, lucky enough to spot two leopards in two safaris. Improvement: Resturents for breakfast or evening snacks (there is no restaurants nearby) apart from tea shop

  • Karel van Ouwendorp (Our Wild India)

We contacted several safari operators in Jaipur to arrange a safari for us in Jhalana. The only one that responded was Jaipur Jhalana Safari. They picked us up at our hotel with an electrical vehicle which is very nice. During our safari we had a very good sighting of a leopard and several other animals like nilgai, deer and langurs. Highly recommended.

  • Tatiana Karpovich

Glad for leopards to leave good live(not in captivity) and feed on plenty of peacock. You are not guaranteed to see leopards. I was not lucky as well. Only stopped for peacock. The rest of the trip were driving back and forth looking for the leopard. Did not stop for monkey or any other animals. If you want to see leopard, go to the zoo

We went in Jan for the 6am safari and it was an amazing experience. You can spot leopard, deers, Neelgai, monkeys, peacocks and beautiful birds here. Would recommend pre-booking the tickets and reaching here before time because they start at the exact said time. Our driver was very patient when we spotted the leopard on his morning walk

  • Harmit Ahuja

I have been to Jhalana many times but always with Sumit Juneja! He has always ensured that I get the best jungle experience & super sightings. We did not see any leopards due cold weather early morning but apparently that is rare. The safari is great overall and the guides are very friendly. Book in advance they don't take spot bookings

One of the best places to see Indian leopards. A grand success story of a barren land being converted into a thriving national park after years of hard work. Sighting rate of leopards is highest in the country here

Good place to see leopards in Rajasthan with 90% accuracy throughout the year. Best time will be June and July as aravali hills become lush- green and seeing a golden leopard is like cherry on the top.

We give a four star because we did not see any leopards. The people were nice and made every effort to try and spit a leopard. We did see many peacocks and other animals The bathrooms were bad.
