I am a relatively new business looking for accounting and bookkeeping help. I found Jon Bell online and was pleased to see all the 5 Star recommendations. I looked at their website and saw that they provide a FREE Initial Consultation, another great perk. I called and spoke to a very polite young lady and ended up highly disappointed to find out that this firm doesn't actually give free initial consultations and the excuse was they were supposed to pull it down but they didn't know why it hadn't been done yet. I asked if they would honor it since its still on their website and was answered with a disappointing NO. Needless to say as a small business who needs help and also needs to save money, the extreme cost of a initial consultation was way to much and I now have to continue the search. I don't know how the rest of their business practices are but wanted to let everyone know that FREE on a website doesn't mean FREE at all.

I started using Jon Bell's services for taxes since 2017 the year after I moved to Albuquerque. He is professional, trustworthy, and reliable. He has had some changes in office staff over the last few years, but everyone who has been in the administrative role has been responsive to questions. What I really like is that I can do my taxes completely online. He has a secure portal to upload documents, and he sends documents and alerts me when I have them available to review and sign. The process is very simple. His tax handout is a document that is easy to understand where I plug in my numbers. I also make submit an excel sheet with charitable contributions and some other information to complete the tax information. If I have questions that require an accountant during the year, Jon is prompt at answering them. I really appreciate his service, and I highly recommend him and his team.

I had high hopes for Jon Bell. He seemed to have the type of cpa practice i wanted but i was sorely disappointed. After dropping the ball on several occasions over the course of 8 months we barely got a delayed tax return in on time, no bookkeeping done for the current year, and nothing for me but huge expenses and headaches trying to play catch up. Why do I pay you $500 + per month(his preferred pay structure) - if you’re going to do nothing with that and then scramble for 24 hrs right at the tax deadline?! And then he has the gall to bill me separately for the taxes. Most expensive accountant I’ve ever had and he did the least for me. Unbelievable.

We reluctantly scheduled an appointment (after an unpleasant experience with the previous tax person in the state we just left). But, it did not take long for us to realize that we had indeed come to the right place! Jon Bell and his staff were friendly and professional, and gave us excellent service. My husband and I have been using Turbo Tax for several years. We sold some real estate and decided to have a CPA help us in determining our capital gains taxes. We found Jon on the internet, we called him, met with him and in a couple of weeks Jon not only informed us of what our capital gains taxes would be, but he discovered that we had paid too many taxes the previous year. Jon amended our return and recovered $900.00. Jon will be looking at the past two year’s returns to see if there were any errors. We find Jon to be very helpful and easy to talk to. We will be using him from now on for our yearly taxes.
