I recently moved to the state and this was my third visit to the store. I went in to get a box of tilapia, I requested for cleaned(descaled) tilapia and the gentleman was kind enough to put it in a big plastic bag, stuck the sticker to it and I paid for it. I walked out of the store with my mum and this same gentleman walks up to us speaking spanish which we don't understand so we offer to go back into the store for someone to translate. It went downhill from here. Turns out they didn't have a box of already cleaned tilapia like I had purchased twice in the past, so the order they gave me was meant for someone who had called in earlier to have it cleaned. I wanted cleaned fish, which I got. I paid for it and walked out of the store, I came back into the store on my own volition. Title in the property has transferred to me, I legally own it. These people snatched the box from my cart under some mistaken impression that they own it. That was an unlawful seizure of my property. And when we voiced our displeasure the store manager rudely told us to lower our voice or get our money and leave. Yes we were talking like educated angry people but not shouting, we never even cussed. Her offer was if we can wait for 2hrs, we can have our own box. This store humiliated us for no reason. In short I took the Asian lady on her offer and got my money back.

I would have given you a five because we drive an hour most almost every other week to get our seafood here, we love the market, but the lady that you had at the shrimp counter today should not be working with customers, she either doesn’t like black woman or black people all together, we were waiting for her to finish with a customer, so that we could have her weigh our crabs, we wanted to get more. While we were waiting another woman of her race walked up and waited after us, she literally looked over us and called on the other woman, I told her excuse me we are here waiting she said ok and proceeded to continue with the other customer, I said ok and we were here first so you need to service us first, can you please weigh this so I can see if we need more? She told me to go to the cash register, I assume she was confused so I reinstated and she turned the scale on, pointed to it and walked back to the other customer, ma’am, you are by far a disgrace to a business, I don’t care how you feel personally about anyone, when it comes to business act accordingly, because just because your market is being frequented regularly now, don’t mean that it can’t be closed in the blink of an eye, God don’t like ugly ✨

Had to give this place five stars because it will be forever in my memory books after the incident i had today. You really have to walk each isle to appreciate the complete amount of food out there that, simply never even crosses our minds in most cases. The reason i came to this place in part was to find something new i could add to my personal menu, but i was overwhelmed at the amount of selection and depth of this place, presented to standard in the isles , but the fresh cut area was OBVIOUSLY done with love, well presented. Anyway i get to the checkout and im hunting candy or a snack, and i see "HOT CHICKEN" and what looks to be chicken jerky inside.... picture of a chicken on the bag. In the car, pop one in my mouth cause I'm starving, it's awesome, start reading the package which is partially japaneee... first ingredient on the back... Squid... needless to say i now eat squid for the first time in my life after 27 years. My mind has been opened a bit today, and i don't forget firsts! So i will be revisiting this place in the near future!.

I come here for produce, spices, and freezer items, but recent visits have convinced me to explore other options. The prices have doubled for some produce - rising faster than any grocery store I've seen, including other international marts. It is not fresh and often there are slim pickings. Maybe there are certain days of the week you need to come in on. Twice I came here and the freezer shelf of buns was cleared out. Expiration dates and prices are sometimes unclear or not labeled. When I was checking out, the couple before me had a basket of raw meat items. The cashier picked up the chicken platter by the side and dripped juices over the end of the conveyor belt and the scanner. I asked her politely to wipe it up but she did not understand me and started swiping my items through the fluid. I Cloroxed everything when I got home, but that gives you an idea of their sanitation standards.

The vegetables are routinely half the price and fresher than Publix. Not to mention the variety, red jalapeños, soybean sprouts by weight not prepacked, shimeji mushrooms, - which my kids this are "literally adorable" - to only name a tiny few. They have a fish & market where you can get everything from blue crab & crawdad to fresh calamari & red snapper and everything in between. The meat butcher sells presliced beef for bulgogi, pork belly by the pound, not the strip, and all manner of foul and red meat as well. Yes, pork is red meat. The shelves isles have Russian, Greek, South American and all manner of Asian foods (and cooking implements). If you have a recipe asking for something specific like dark or light soy sauce, pre toasted seseme seed or gomashio, this is where you will find it.

4 star for variety of food available from different cultures. Plenty of Hispanic, korean, Vietnamese, Chinese and some seemingly random European goodies. Best variety of Asian noodles in 1 place around the area that I’ve been to. Downside: maybe 10% wear face masks. Stay too long and you walk out smelling like the fish market. Can’t beat the price of fresh seafood though. Woman who go by themselves stay cognizant for your safety! Beggars were non-verbally confrontational who carelessly walk around the parking lot with a sign staring at you intensely if they think it’ll intimidate you enough to give them money. Best to go when it’s not busy. Not worth the hassle. Still give 4 store for hard-to-find products here and if you go when it’s not busy you’ll be fine.

My ratings tell . I got what I went looking for . Store is laid out pretty neatly. The odors may get overpowering if you haven't been to a typical Asian/Mexican grocery store before , but I've gotten used to . They have a good selection of basic stuff - ThaiViet, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, South American, Mexican , Levantine/MidEastern and a little bit of Indian . Customer service is not good the cashiers looked and acted really grumpy ( underpaid and overworked perhaps ) , so have to let it remain at a positive zero ( lol ) . Prices are fair. ( I used HMART in Catonsville/ Baltimore as a baseline for my expectations regarding a true International Grocery Store , and wasn't disappoined with K&S ( Though they seem a bit small in comparison) )

  • usa 2020

They recently increased the price of a product I used to buy in this market, Soda Guarana - 12 pack, the price was $6.99 it went up to b$10.99 I always bought other items when I went to the market, now I'll no longer shopping there at the international market because I consider the increase of price “abusive”, I will buy online for the same price and they will deliver to my door. I even asked the manager why the price had doubled. she told me everything went up in price. this is not the way to do business in USA, just saying, you guys will no longer have my business if the price still this up.

  • Elizabeth Rose

They have a large variety of produce, meat /seafood and groceries. I always discover something new each time I'm there. What I love most is that I can find things there that I can not find elsewhere. Specifically, pork liver, chicken feet, a ridiculous variety of ramen and candies, and frozen Dimsum (so easy to steam at home). Their mushrooms are always beautiful and so much less expensive than other stores. Their produce variety is truly impressive. I wish they were closer to my house, but it's worth the drive.

  • Freddie Merritt

If you love to smell fish, Fresh Fish this is the place to be it's really a neat store with anything from live seafood to Frozen Seafood and every kind of food you could imagine from many many countries sweets coffee sauces fresh produce eggs butter etc etc etc go check it out I think you would enjoy the experience I did I loved the colossal shrimp was fresh took it home and cooked it that day. PS you might want to eat before you go in the store because you might buy more than you plan to have a good day

  • Monica F

This store is the meaning of TRASH and DISRESPECT!They gave me a wrong order not only that but the manger was very rude and disrespectful when I requested for them to fix or give me my money back, he refused to give me my money back and was yelling at me in front of the cashier. I was in shock of how low their customer service was. I will never step a foot in this place. They don’t understand what customer service is about or even respecting a customer. They don’t even deserve me giving them 1 star.

  • Katerina Brewer

I always love coming here, they have a great selection from many different areas. There is a big fish smell when you walk in but thats because they very literally have an entire raw fish section. You get over it very easily. Their meat is so well priced, I love getting it from here. Always fresh and good cuts. If you don't know where something is it can be a little hard to find it and a lot of staff dont seem to know where things are as well. But it doesnt ruin my experience much.

  • Donna Sanders Sumners

This is not your typical American supermarket! The aisles are small and the store is crowded! Shopping is an adventure, though. I found food I never see anywhere else. I went for chicken feet, as I was making stock. I found them at a very reasonable price. I made the stock and it is really good. I also found ripe persimmons at a very reasonable price. I am going back today for more persimmons. If you want to try new recipes with Asian ingredients, this is the best place to shop.

K&S World Market in Nashville is a great option for those in search of Asian and Spanish groceries. The store offers a wide selection of products, from fresh produce to specialty ingredients, and the prices are reasonable. However, the store could benefit from a little more organization and better signage to make navigation easier. Despite these small drawbacks, K&S World Market is a great resource for the community and well worth a visit. I give it a solid 4 stars.

  • Brent MacDonald

This international market is fantastic. Don't expect the open isles at a typical grocery store, instead imagine aisles filled with wonders from every country or ethnicity you can imagine. From fresh produce to seafood, including live fish, they likely have it. There's also a small separate area selling imported pharmacy items. Most staff also speak languages beyond English. Large free parking area. For years, our go to place to buy seafood and fish .

  • Shannon D

Moved down to Nashville April 2019 that was my go-to fior fish, 2 months later I seen a roach coming from under the scale that they weigh the fish. Ewww !! Currently searching for another fish market ( even if I have to drive a distance). I refuse to go back to this place, it just looks nasty in the corners of the display case.. I would have gave it to stars but when I buy the aloe leaf from there's even those look bad and not fresh at all.

  • Brande' Radford (B.)

The store is amazing with all the different cultured selections . Has great prices but the store cashiers are horrible they have nasty attitudes barely speak english and when you ask for a manager Good luck on finding one . The cashier named MARA is rude everytime she will throw your bag at you or give you a dirty look as if your on her time . I gave 4 stars for the store I give 1 star for the cashiers

  • Alex Rowe

Fantastic place to find whatever the hell food you are looking for. Exotic and well maintained produce section. If your looking for a real old-school fish market, here it is. You need some frozen dumplings at half the price and 20x the selection of krogers... theyve got that. Loads of vegan and vegetarian foods. Sauces out the wahoo. Seaweed chips I can't find anywhere else! They have that too!

  • Danny Moore

There's only one place that I know of that whatever culture or nationality that one comes from, you can not only find the cuisine of a specific country but communicate with people of that culture or that inspiration as well. This market has the freshest foods from anywhere in the world that one can imagine. Fish may be selected live and the fish mongers will clean and prep it for your feast.

  • John Nguyen

Pretty good overall for an international supermarket. I cook lots of asian dishes and most of my ingredients come from here. Vegetables are fresh and waay cheaper than any american supermarket. Only potential problem is meat. The way they leave seafood and meat out here is kinda sketch, but then again, lots of people are buying them so I guess they aren't sitting out for long anyways.

  • Timothy Pauly

Im sure that this store is good but the other store is much cleaner on Charlotte Pike and without the smell. Yes, the store is very busy but it needs the health department to investigate the overwhelming amount of smell and cleanliness of the store on Nolensville Rd. I disagree with 4.1 stars. Needs a good thorough inspection for the people living in that area of south Nashville.

  • Uriel Gomez Andrade

I have been going to this market since I was little, it has always been a fun experience. It has a wide variety of foods and a little bit of house goods mostly from Asia and Mexico. My favorite part about this place is the amount of vegetables and candy. It has so many! The only downside would be I guess the parking, Nolensville Rd is super busy most of the time also.

  • silvia figueroa

Yes cashiers are great but the butcher not so friendly nor the lady was so communicative when weighing meat and the butcher and lady quickly to the back when the other customers were wanting to ask questions or get help so then they came out again., I think the lady needs a bit more training they guy knew more but still was not to pleasant like he was in a hurry

  • Lucy O

It is one of the biggest asian / international grocery store in nashville area for now. They carry stuff which are not able to find in other regular local grocery store, but it is not the cleanest place you want to shop for the grocery. Also, sometimes stuff they have are either expired or closed to expired, so we always check to make sure items are still good.

  • Chiew Johnson

Nice fresh produce including popular Chinese vegetables such as Kai Lan, Bok Choy, Napa cabbage, ginger root, etc. impressive Mexican seasonings and dried herbs. Plenty of variety of Asian sauces and seasonings. The reason for 3 star is that prices are not properly posted and the prices that rang up were the prices I saw. I hope that’s not done intentionally.

  • peter covino

There is something fishy going on here. This market not only carries a huge amount of produce but it looks like a fish market as well live talapia, lobster and crab are just some of the options. Add to that many packaged goods from Mexico south America. And Asia and many frozen options as well. This is one stop shopping for any Asian or Latino recipe

  • Philip Thompson

If you're a Foodie and don't know this store, fix this in a hurry. It's amazing! Foods from all over the world. Fresh fish and meats. Incredible selection of fresh vegetables, fruits, herbs and peppers. Plus dry goods too. Limited selection of imported beers, but good. Frozen and dried foods as well. Ample parking but busy on Saturday mornings.

  • Sue Ray

The store is too small to walk around because it’s way too many merchandise. The aisles don’t was labels. Employees are not helpful at all. Also you got to watch your transactions, I’ve had many times that they charged me more than what the price tag was advertised. I only go there because they have vegetables that no other place has.

  • David Reynolds

Don't accept your wife's offer for you to run to K&S from Gladeville. This place will suck you in for a couple hours. Ask someone working there to grab their favorites to make dishes for a meal. The produce section alone is worth going. If you want to center meals around some ingredients you've not yet tried, this place is a bonanza

  • MyAnh Stinson

Good price on fruit and produce. Has something's can't find in other places like lemon grass. Found cantaloupe for 99 cents and big juicy navel oranges that was very sweet for 69 cents each. Nice and sweet cashiers and workers. Many people shopping for groceries. That to me means it's good. I enjoy my experience there. Thank you

  • Aaron Graves

An amazing place. There is food from all over the world here. It has a great fresh produce section an very good fresh spices and herbs. They sell live and fresh seafood! The workers are super friendly! I would suggest going in daylight hours as the neighborhood isn't the safest. Definitely a great place to visit!

  • Jasmine Mhlanga

They have fresh food from live fish to fresh vegetables from all around the world. It was very, very crowded though and hard to find some items but overall they have a wide selection of food from Korean to other Asian food to Hispanic food. It was great to experience different cultures all in one place.

  • David Bradshaw

Pungent unpleasant odors greet you on emtrance. Probably caused by the way meats and fish are handled combined with the cultural aversion of the owners to matters of smell. Nevertheless it's a great resource for a variety of things international such as spices, drinks, fruits, vegetables and pastries.

  • Miguel Gutierrez

I’ve seen Hispanic families shopping here every time I visit the store. The music they’re playing today June 1st is just disgusting for it’s crude and offensive language. When I asked a cashier about the person in charge, she said they play whatever they want and if I didn’t like it was my problem.

  • Renee Chang

Avoid this place if you can! I bought two packs of white peaches last Saturday, and ALL of them were already rotten after just two days. You should be cautious when buying fresh food from there. You can't tell by just looking at it because they tend to hide the bad parts underneath.

  • James Curtis

Awesome international market the best employees and the customer service wish I personally liked more of there grocery so I could do all shopping there óf they opened a Walmart type store with the treatment and atmosphere that you received here other place would go bankrupt quick

  • Cen Jiao

Horrible experience deserve no star. Big amount of expired products on different shelves sell with full price; “fresh fish clean” with steal half of the meat (not only once); price marked and checking in are different, always more expensive than the labels marked.

  • Edmundo Chaparro-Barriguete

Stinks like a rotten garbage disposal all the time. They have a great selection of foods, yet extremely expensive. I used to buy much much stuff before, but now i bearly but anything. They overpriced almost everything but twice as much compared with other stores.

  • Erin Platt

If you can handle the sewage smell hitting you in the face as soon as you walk in you can endure the shopping. I loved the selection of authentic products but if you can't translate your a little out of luck. The fresh fish market was pretty cool to watch.

  • Gingus

If they would watch their next shoplifter, and not catch right away then they would see that everything stolen from them is being sold at SoithernHillarket right on next corner to owners,or cashier's for money to buy crack or hair. All true.Go look.

  • Joe Cribbs

Has just about anything that you need for Oriental cuisine. In fact, there is almost too much, as the rows can be overwhelming with products. But if you need steam buns, kimchi, or access to a fresh fish market, then this is the place for you.

  • Zijia Z

Stop selling expired stuff, lots of snack are expired here. If you can’t find the expiration date, they are most likely expired. Also, lots of items don’t have a price, or the price is different when you check out. Don’t recommend this store.

  • sk gains

The rotted fish smell is overwhelming. Several of the lights were out, there is mildew on the ceiling tiles, there were several items without pricing and they only took cash. I've come here a few times and every time is a bad experience.

  • Willy Gomez

You can find a huge variety of products from mostly Asian countries and South America, they have a fish market and a butcher shop, prices are ok even that most of the products are imports. I go all the time to buy Korean products.

  • Franko Hashiguchi

Well-stocked, friendly staff, and fun time. It's huge. Note- big destination for Saturday night. Better to go in the middle of a weekday if you can. Seeing the live crabs, lobsters and such crammed in together was saddening to me.

  • Karthik Anna

We go here for their fishes (fresh golden pompano, shark, crab, calamari and shrimp) and tropical fruits. We get rare tropical fruits which we won't get else where. Peak hours will have long waiting time at the cleaning counter.

  • Saad Tantawi

Pretty dissent place, always busy, most produce they have is cheaper than other places. I would say the one thing I wish they will do is have their registers system show prices and total amount to the consumer in real time.

  • Jah Logical

Great place to shop if you're looking for international goods. Being from New York I missed the diversity of items that I can find there. One suggestion will be to get there early because parking is a beast on the weekends

  • saad issa

very rude employees and horrible management! I called K&S and the lady Christina answered the phone, she couldn’t answer simple questions & hung up in my face not once but two times when i tried to call back. Embarrassing.

  • TripIt Now or Never

This is great international market. You will get fresh fish, crabs and many different varieties of seafood. We get many different varieties of fresh vegetables. During mango season, we got fresh mangoes which are awesome.

  • Jonna Farner

Love this place! I can find all kinds of cool ingredients here! Prices are good. It does have a bit of a fishy smell, but that's because it has all kinds of fish and seafood. Cool place! Oh, and quite the ramen selection!

  • Drew David

This store is incredible! Fresh produce, live fish, a meat market, and more dry and frozen aisles than you could ever believe! Go there and buy any of the fresh ingredients and you would be surprised at the cheap prices!

  • Raviraj Sankolli

excellent Pom-fret fish, we just love it. Smells bad though as fish is cleaned up on counters. fresh fish with good taste. My wife likes shrimp they have here. she cleans it herself but they taste yummy when stirfried.

  • Candise Tuggy

Large grocery store with all kinds of produce, meat, fish, dairy, frozen and other international products! The fresh fish smell will greet you as you walk in but do not be scared off by that! Lots of goodies here!

  • Russell Butler

Great for those hard to find items you would not find in a regular grocery store. Great prices too. Now I know where to find my grape leaves. Look forward to checking out other products I'm not familiar with.

  • Gaurav Hegde

Great market to find fresh fish like Pompano and Mackerel. The place could be better maintained though. The fish associates are understaffed and it was difficult to get hold of them to get our fishes cleaned

  • Luis Ortiz

Great place to get things you can't get from Walmart or other grocery stores. We get our seafood from here every now and then because is fresh! It takes some time to get your fish cleaned but is worth it!

  • Ida V. Thomas

Wow! World Market, a great experience I'm always in the seafood department, theirs no other store in Nashville, Tennessee. Trust me, I have experience traveling around the in one place. Thank you …

  • LeRoy Castle

Great selection of ethnic foods. Place is owned by Koreans. Lots of different Asian, Hispanic and other foods here. Fresh fish market...choose and they clean them for you but don't forget a tip is nice.

  • John Scott Major

They stock items and have produce that cannot be purchased in other stores. Always bonuses--tangerines with the leaves still attached. 5 varieties of Habaneros. Coconuts still with the green outer husk!

  • Jesse Cummings (Star_Citrine)

I LOVE this market. It's been a favorite of mine for years and years. They have so many snacks and fantastic produce. The place is huge and I can easily get lost just trying to take everything in.

  • Felicia Vargas

I will absolutely be back! Such a wide variety of international items, can’t wait for my return visit to spend more time looking for more products. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

  • BlackByrd Swann

Had my first visit here today and even though I live 40 minutes away I will definitely be back! I was so overwhelmed by everything they had to offer and I ended up trying some new things!

  • Tara Armov

This store has a little bit of everything. Hispanic, Korean, a bit of Chinese and Filipino foods galore. There's some bulk food available, as well. For your staples, this place has it!

  • Bradley S.

A well stocked Asian, Indian, Hispanic market. The fish market carries fish that are difficult to find elsewhere. The same goes for cookware and small appliances. Frequent this place!

  • Bell

All Nashville and know this place is the goat for imported foods. A life saver for anyone who has lived abroad or immigrated from an Asian country. Smell is harsh, but it’s worth it!

  • Alan Hoang

Good selection of Asian and Hispanic ingredients, including a decent variety of fresh produce. Quality on par with other international markets. My go to grocery store these days!

  • Austyn

This place has everything you might need. If you can’t find it at Walmart, Kroger or target, you will definitely find it here, and for cheap too! The only downside: it’s cramped.

  • Robin Burnett-Parker

Great place for variety of veggies and fruits from different nationalities. Fresh fish and crabs. Plenty of seasons and sauces. Soups, rices, noodles. Cookware is also plentiful.

  • Rachel Zhang

Great selection of Asian food but you have to be very careful with the price. They charged me $5.19 for just one single mango. I can get a whole case at Costco for the price.

  • José Carlos Domingo

What a excellent grocery store to buy fresh fish, live crab and many more from the water. They have products from all around the world. Great and fresh produce too. I love it

  • Sandie Perrigo

Several items can't find at grocery store. Some produce past it's prime. Had to go to international market down street to find chickpea flour. Good prices on meat and deafood

  • Nikki Bagwell-Tovar

I went there to get international candy for my son. The smell was so terrible (rotten fish smell in produce), I had to leave before throwing up. What is world is that smell?

  • Daniel Burstiner

Certainly a wide variety of products including live fish. The produce is suspect, seems not as fresh as other markets. Also a bit dark and dirty. Not my favorite market.

  • Rivrhuntr

The store has a lot of unique items, you just have to get past the fish smell. They really have some great food choices. Fresh, dried, canned, and bagged. Lychee's rule!

  • albert is awesome

They have lots of items kroger and Publix don't carry. They carry 40 # bags of rice. The aisles are very narrow. Seafood section carries whole fish , crabs and lobsters

  • M Miranda

You can find just about anything. Parking lot is big but always full. There are other services and stores inside and food trucks outside. Prices are very reasonable.

  • Aminata Ka

Finding parking can be a problem if you come on busy times, other then that i get my fresh fish and seafood here. They also got an extensive instant noodle brands.

  • Charles Huang

So many Asian foods! Wife and I love to try new foods(Google Lens is your friend). Tons of authentic foods from my childhood. Best international market around!

  • K Wells

Terrific seafood department and fresh produce. You could literally spend hours in this place trying to figure out what some of the products are. Foodie heaven

  • Youssef Eryan

Really nice seafood selection. I honestly didn’t walk around to check other sections, but I was surprised how much variety they have in their seafood section.

  • John D

Amazing place with so much inventory. Super fish market, stocked shelves for Asian and Mexican fare. Only knock is that it is not the cleanest of places.

  • DG V

This market has it all. Authentic and hard to find ingredients, wall to wall. It’s affordable and has a great variety of multiple cuisines under 1 roof.

  • Oleg Volk

The store is now posted against legal carry, so 15% of Tennessee population is unwelcome. The store manager did not respond to a letter on the topic.

  • Liudmyla Kozynska

Smells funny, but have a very interesting selection of products. It is narrow lanes inside so it is tricky to use carts. Nice variety of fresh fish

  • Lisa Goodrich Horrocks

The BEST place in Nashville for cooking needs! They carry many varieties of world cuisine. Any specialty item, they stock it! Love both locations!!
