The electrical system to my house needed an upgrade because the current system was not able to tolerate all the increase in power usage. As a result, the power was constantly shorting. This was explained to me and they said they would perform a temporary fix. This was not an emergency call, as they showed up 2-3 days after I called to ask for help with the problem, and this was admittedly my call, not theirs. Everyone arrived on time and the fix took no more than 20 minutes. I asked how much it would cost, and the owner, Kurt, arrogantly evaded the question. When I called the office about a day or two later, they avoided my question again. After more than a month from the job, I was mailed a bill for over $350! They're not bad. They're a very competent business — they did what they set out to do, explained next steps that were needed from the temporary fix, and did it all in a timely manner. What I didn't like and what marred the entire experience was the way in which the pricing was handled. I was not given any opportunity to talk about the cost, which I thought was very odd. In fact I was rudely shut down, only to get that enormous bill over a month later with no explanation. That's what left me foul. Insist on getting an estimate before or on the day of the work so you know what to expect.
