I was really disappointed with the service here. From the moment we walked in it felt unwelcoming. There were 6 of us who were shown to a table and then left. While staff stood around loudly chatting and joking, we waited for someone to take our order. Due to our table being big enough for 10, no one say the QR code on the other side of the only napkin holder. No one who worked there thought to mention it. The meals were very slow to come out despite there being hardly anyone else in there. They were, however, overpriced for a venue like this. The kids meal came with a drink in a flimsy plastic cup and when our 2 year old spilt it, 2 separate staff members looked as the walked past. Seeing us try to mop it up with napkins. No one thought to offer to help or wipe the table down so we weren't sitting on a sticky table. The pokies area was the worst I've ever been to. People were playing 2 machines at a time, it was small and cramped, people were bashing on the buttons. All in all a very depressing place to be. I had to give stars for the play area, which the kids loved, and for the quality of the meals which was nice. However service goes a long way, and due to the careless attitude of the staff, I won't be returning here.

I'm very disappointed with this place my family n parents always going there now n then n we always like the food n the services n how they treat ya.. n were a member there always n the kids n u only get a free ice cream.. wow. Well 2nite didn't feel right n was upsetting when I walk in n went to go seat down where my family was got told not to seat there as that a booking tablet but then it was the tablet where my mum book, then a lady comes with food that wasn't ours n try tell us that it a tablet number n check our receipt n I like I know what I ordered but nope wasn't happy with that then all our food came out n it was yuk food n cold n not nice at all don't feel well after it.... n there didn't then bring my order that i order agian coz there fogor about it n try say will u like ur money bk.be told that my kids was hurting kids n I turn around said yeh k I sort him out he got special need n then the man turn around said that more to look after him. Which I find that very rude n upset.not nice treat special needs kids. N u look at everyone .kids running around climbing up things aswell. Not happy at all.

Made a reservation in advance. Waited a while to be seated on a 4 person table for a reservation of 5 people. Food was terrible. Soft drink taps weren't working so limited drink choices. Service was terrible. When I saw a staff member approached my child in the play ground and clearly being angry towards him i went over to see what was happening. She was scolding him for taking a video of his brother then demanded to go through his phone, check the videos and delete them. I explained to her that it was inappropriate for her to demand to look through my child's phone and especially without a parent present. There is no signage saying no photos or videos. She was unapologetic my son was shaken as he didn't think he had done anything wrong filming his own brother then being intimidated by an unknown adult to show his phone gallery. Manager didn't offer an apology for how the situation was handled. Absolutely terrible on every aspect. Will stick to sugargum or deer Park hotel where both food and service are great.

I haven't been to the Kealba hotel for many years so decided to go for dinner with friends.First impressions the staff in the bistro were not very friendly we were not welcomed with a smile or hello when we came into the bistro. We had to stand in the doorway for a few minutes before someone came up to us. We ordered our dinner and asked for a jug of water when the glasses were bought to the table they were dirty and sticky and had not been cleaned properly. We ordered 2 x parmas, pizza and a cabonara 2 x coke. The reason I had not been to the hotel for many years was because the food was disappointing and this time round was the same. The parmas were soggy, like they had been reheated in the microwave the side salad was disgusting the coleslaw was old as there was no crunch and the Mayo dressing tasted off the the pizza had hardly any toppings on it and base soggy. Would not recommend. I now know why the car park is always full it isn't because of the bistro or the food it's the pokies. Will not be going back.

I want this restaurant to be good because it has an awesome kids playground but the last few times we have been the food is very average and small servings. I ordered calamari. The calamari was okay but soggy there was hardly any chips which weren’t salted and the salad wasn’t dressed. My husband and brother had Parma’s. The Parma size was good but again hardly any chips and they weren’t salted. My dad had the beef rib which was a very small meal for the price. The pictures online had 2 ribs, his meal only came with one small one. The corn with it was cold. The $22 steaks weren’t great and tough. Again salads weren’t dressed. Not sure why it comes with 2 gravy’s? Maybe to fill the plate so it looks like you are getting more? Kids had a pizza which needed to be cooked longer as the base was soggy. Overall we aren’t big eaters but most of us left still hungry but didn’t bother ordering dessert after the disappointing mains. Won’t be returning.

There are things this place do well and there are things they need improvement on. Upon arrival, we were told that our table did not show up on the system. We booked the Wednesday before over the phone. Thankfully they found us a table to accomodate all our guests. The food is generally well done. Although, I received a cold meal. The attention to detail needs work. Granted, they get busy and probably are short staffed at times. To provide context we used the QR Code to order, perhaps it would be better to order at the counter to ensure details are correct. In addition, both cubicles in the male toilets were blocked. I alerted management. Not their fault i suppose. I hope that this feedback helps in some way.

Only went there on last Wednesday night for a meal . The steak was boiled. Not grilled .the sweets chocolate mouse had been mas produced and kept in the fridge verry hard . They had run out of soy milk for the coffee. Had only 1 large mug . And the coffee was cold . The male person serving on the drinks bar is dopey doesn't understand anything. This is the 3rd time they have run out of something. The customer service is verry limited non existent. Think twice about this place . Then they want to shut the lounge bistro early . Poor poor .

Our family went for dinner on a busy Saturday night but didn't book. The lady in charge was so nice and found us a table. (So grateful, as we were all exhausted from moving our daughter into her home). The food was outstanding! Definitely not your standard pub food! 2 of us had the seafood platter...omg! Fresh and succulent and a lovely fresh salad. My hubby had the parmi and it was one of the best he has had. Well done Kealba Hotel. We will definitely be returning.

I had my 60th Birthday on Saturday and I am very happy to say that the whole experience has been amazing. From the day of the booking Josie the event manager was very helpful and accommodating to our wishes in regards to the Menu and setting. On the night the Meals were very generous and delicious . The service was amazing and the staff very friendly to say the least.Overall I will definitely recommend Kealba hotel for a function or just a meal out. Thank you again Josie for contributing in making my birthday a great one.

I was here with my family to celebrate my niece's birthday . The bistro is quite spacious and my kids loved the playground . The staff is so friendly especially the blonde hair girl Emma she is a gun keep up the good work .The food was alright but the steak I ordered was over cooked and I hope they include more varieties in the menu . The bouncer who welcomed us at the front entrance is so polite and friendly even though he looks intimidating with his tattoos and massive muscles he is very down to earth but I wouldn't mess with him still . Overall very good service .

Thank you Josie xxx Josie was the best host for my dad's wake recently. She was on the ball from the start, even called us the morning of the funeral just to let us know that she was in at work and she would be there every step of the way. The food was brought out in a timely manner and everything was hot! Josie constantly checked in with mum and I to make sure everything was ok, and even just to make sure we had eaten. I can honestly say she went above and beyond to make sure everything ran as we wanted it to

If you have kids and are planning on coming here for the playground please ensure you stay in the playground with them at all times. My 6 year old daughter was told by a teenager that she is going to bash her and she physically went to hit my daughter. This place has gone downhill and not all but most of the people are completely feral looking. I seen plenty of kids just causing a nuisance and parents or managers doing nothing at all! I will never go back here. Soo many better bistros Sugar Gum etc. Would stay clear of this place!

The atmosphere is pleasant with a nice cage to keep the kiddies away from diners. The wait staff were very polite and attentive to our tables needs and requirements. They were always found easily rather than hiding away in the kitchen. The food was delightful and tasty. Variety was a little lacking though and some meals came out slower than the rest leaving two diners watching others eat as they waited (the reason for the 4 star instead of 5). Other than that, a wonderful place to take the family for a meal, a bet if they wish, and have a good time.

  • Crystle-Lee Morrison

Had dinner here tonight, meals were awful. Nearly $50 for a steak which is ok if the steak is edible. Well done one came out bleeding, both steaks were full of fat and unedible pieces. Also ordered a kids steak to be well done, came out bleeding with their blood soaked chips. Asked to have it redone and was given a steak too chewy to eat that was still red in the middle. Other meals that were ordered by the table were over or under cooked and not enjoyable. Was really disappointed. Used to come here all the time but definitely won't be back again.

I highly recommend the Kealba Hotel, as a family friendly venue. I recently had my daughter's birthday party there. We booked the Kid's Planet Party Pack and it was completely stress free! The kids had a wonderful time in the playground and the party food was suitable for the occasion. The staff were fabulous! Josie was the perfect party host from the time we made the booking. Sue and Emma accompanied Josie on the day and were responsible for the timely food service and popular face painting. Thanks again to the friendly team at the Kealba Hotel.

  • Medo Medica

Absolutely very pleased with the service in the Bistro tonight from Emma and Ivana. Those two ladies did not stop while we were there. As for Jesse what an amazing Bartender he was on the ball constantly. They were so busy looked understaffed but those 3 ran around like they had skates on. Great work guys.

Plenty of options, none of them inexpensive and the majority left too long in the warmers. Food was delivered to the table so quick, we should have been suspicious, it was so dry that it was inedible. Did complain and we were offered to order something else, but out of the 6 different dishes ordered at our table only 2 were apparently edible and not to everyone's tastes, so the chances of ordering something better was slim. So in short most, of the food at our table was returned leaving our pockets a lot emptier.

  • Charlotte

5 stars to the lovely girl that was working in the bar during the dinner service yesterday, she was constantly filling up the water stations with cold water for the kids. However i would not recommend coming in on a really hot day like yesterday when is was 34 degrees as the venue itself was very hot and stuffy, it felt like there was zero air conditioning/ fans and the kids playroom was like a sauna !! Perhaps if there was a decent cooling system we would come back with the kids, however for now it's a pass.

Very busy Sunday. Great family environment and very children friendly. Staff were very helpful and attentive. All our food came in sensible time and was cooked well. Had a small issue with my wife’s dish but was resolved without a problem. My full appreciation of the guy calling on the pass at the kitchen. Very professional and completely in the zone. Resolved immediately and without an issue. Was made to feel comfortable and that is crucial. Will I go back? Absolutely!

Great family venue! Super kid friendly with a huge play area to keep kids entertained. The food is always good. A huge variety of menu options and even the kids' menu options are really good. Everything is reasonably priced, and the venue itself is a little outdated but is clean and presentable. The staff are always so lovely. We love coming here.

Absolutely disgraceful service on Mother’s Day. Staff started clearing the table half an hour before our booking time was finished when there was still food, drinks and personal belongings on the table. We didn’t even get a chance to have dessert. Manager comes over and has a go at me because I told staff that I wasn’t happy about it. Putrid behaviour. Ruined Mother’s Day for the entire group. Will never come back.

I came for a kids party recently. The venue is conveniently located and has plenty of parking. There is a large dining area and a centrally located bar. Food was good with plenty of variety. We ordered the barramundi, 2x Parma's and the halloumi salad.. the bad aspects were the side salads - they were under seasoned and had no vinaigrette style dressing and the Parma’s did not have a crunchy crumb - it was soggy with not a nice mouthfeel. The chips were great and the halloumi salad was also delicious.. could have had a little bit more halloumi for $23.. the fish was also good. The staff that we interacted with were great.

  • Christine Borg

Very very disappointed about our meal tonight. I was too embarrassed to even take a photo of the Fish and chips I ordered… 3 tiny sticks and of fish & a total of 12 chips… I don’t mind paying for a meal that was worth the $26… this was like a kids meal… the chef should be fired!!!! Terrible Terrible terrible! I would recommend you advertise for another head chef… my meal should not have left that kitchen!!!!! What an absolute joke!

  • Dean Borg

Tonight's family dinner was absolutely terrible, very disappointing, would be rated the worst bistro/pub meal we have ever experienced. We ordered 2 Chicken Parmigiana's, a serve of Salt & Pepper Calamari and a Fish & Chips, all meals looked slapped together, they were very under proportioned and totally flavourless. We will not be returning to the Kealba Hotel again. Definitely not worth $106.00 , Management should be embarrassed.

  • rhys cousins

The bistro has introduced nightly specials, steak night Monday and Wednesday and Parma night ($15) on Tuesday. Three options, standard, Mexican and Hawaiian. Portion size is great. Real chicken breast, lots of chips, small size salad. The toppings of avocado (dip) and corn chips were not flavorsome. If I were to go again I would order Hawaiian or ask for no chips and avo dip. Friendly staff, lots of tables and car parking.

  • Chel D

Always got good pub classics and a few vegetarian and vegan options alongside some regular kids meal options. Priced fairly decently with quick service which is always friendly and welcoming. There's a huge kids play area they do kids party options and the bistro is so cleverly separated from the TAB that you feel comfortable taking your family there. Massive space with lots of seating booth and table styles.

Josie greeted us (and all other customers) with a beautiful smile, such a lovely friendly person, her energy is contagious. All staff were so helpful, excellent customer service by all in there, just a lovely group of people! We had a small issue with one of our meals and the staff were instantly helping and made everything better. Great food, excellent customer service, definetly recommend this place.

Came into the restaurant bar today to have a meal and there were no customers there. I wanted to order a meal, but no one served me (very disappointed as there were 5 people there in the kitchen looking at me as if as I am an alien and didn't want to serve me.). Waited for a while and starting to feel fed up so I left the place and never want to come back ever again!

Recently had a Wake for my brother in a private section of the bistro. Everything was exceptional. Josie who was the organiser guided us through a difficult time with her expertise. Ordered at 6.34 pm and received main at 7.43 pm . They had Christmas parties happening they should of mentioned a long wait for meals . So I know you won't miss my patronage and I won't miss The Kealba .

Had to ask for our child food and drink. The mains came out and he still didn't have his meal or drink .. ok no biggy. Then the chicken pama tasted like rubber and the sauce tasted very processed. Rude and aggressive staff when we came in tonight. Were informed that the free Parma upgrades are not available on public holidays. Just like every other neighbourhood "Club"'s bistro. Food is relatively cheap, large serves, and pretty bland. Have had several meals here, and don't recommend the pizza. The beverages are decently priced and the staff are absolutely lovely. Great kids play area! Seniors menu is really nicely priced (and serves are still big).

  • Chantelle Law

Kids area needs attention, the floor hasn't been cleaned in who knows how long, very sticky to walk on. Brought $15 worth of tokens to realise that only one game was working out of at least 6. All 3 video games where also out of order and turned off. Food was good. Waitress was lovely and friendly, bar staff not so much. More

Food was great. One staff member was less than accommodating. Even when asking if there was a specific flavour of ice cream for the kids which wasn't displayed. Made us choose from available flavours and after we were served proceeded to get the flavour we wanted out from storage. Poor form!

We enjoyed a delicious meal. The Kealba Hotel has a full gluten-free menu and caters for Coeliac people. Loved the meal, and the service was excellent. Enjoyed a small flutter on the pokies. The service was great and the staff were friendly and courteous.

Nice food, great service. Had a problem with my meal but was taken care of straight away. Things do go wrong in the best of restaurants, its how they deal with the complaint which makes a differnce!

Weekday dinner close to home. A Kid's menu and play area are always nice to give the adults time to relax over their meal. The food and service were good and the atmosphere was pleasant. Nothing to complain about.

Food was below average and servings were very small to the point the pizzas we ordered were virtually dough and sauce and the size was MINI at a family price anywhere else. Good playground though, but that's about it. They even got the

Beautiful decor. Reasonably priced meals and drinks. But don't bother with the grilled barramundi from the seniors menu, unless you love chips and salads. Lucky to get 3 mouthfuls of barramundi fillet. Very friendly and helpful staff.

It's OK. We go here a fair bit as it's local, has a good play area and does gluten free. Scotch steak was cooked medium rare as ordered, I think it's probably not the best quality steak though, it was juicy but somehow dry. Don't get

Food was decent, Staff were awesome, Beer was cold, Cocktails were decent and the Pokies paid out. Can’t complain about anything. The best feature by far is the ability to order from the table through the QR code provided.
