As a gluten-free, vegan diner I absolutely love the creativity and variety of the treats on offer at the bakeshop, but absolutely hated the music and the unnecessarily loud volume at which the music was pumping on the day of our visit. The line up was long and the bakery is very clearly popular but the tables and floor badly needed attending and the bad music made the wait excruciating instead of energizing. It was interesting to see how many people in the line were regulars and friends or acquaintances of the staff. It was reassuring to see the high rate of repeat business and how pleased everyone was with the quality of the bakeshop's goods, but the volume of the music impeded communication with staff and other customers. It made ordering more challenging than it needed to be and it did not inspire encouragement to return, even though the snickerdoodles were very impressive and the majority of the menu offerings are suitable for us. The excessive volume at which the bad music was playing encouraged us to grab goods and get out as fast as we could. The culmination of the long line, the incessant music and not being able to easily and clearly communicate with staff overtop of the music left us feeling rushed, ill-informed and then driven out. I anticipate I might have made different and additional choices had I been afforded the space and time to get better acquainted with the shop and the vast array of products. After the transaction and money was paid, we were not inclined to sit in the noise at a dirty table with an endless line of shuffling patrons moving around us, and we had to find another place to sit to sample our purchases. The store layout results in a snaking line that interrupts itself and which creates a bottleneck at the entrance. It is confusing for people before they even enter the place, and creates tension if someone accidentally slips into the line at one of the breaking points. The tight squeeze at the doorway, and winding queue also pose a navigation challenge for persons with strollers or mobility aides. It is a shame that we did not have a better first visit, for if we had, we'd certainly be inclined to tell people about the actual goods the bakeshop is serving up.

When I get the chance to visit out of town gluten & dairy free bakeries. I go all out! These were my thoughts on all my products. The Strawberry cupcake was absolutely amazing. Inside filling is sooo good and the texture of the cupcake was perfect. Morning glory was okay, I’d pass on it next time. I wanted something carrot cake-y which is why I was given the suggestion - it was similar, But not my personal favorite flavour. The banana chocolate chip muffin though .. OH MY GOSH! My fave item I bought for sure. Super bouncy muffin texture & the flavour is spot on. I got two cookies, sun butter chocolate chip & snickerdoodle. The texture on both cookies was solid. I would definitely get both again. The mile high brownie is classsic. Again very solid texture, not dry at all. It’s super sweet though (which should be expected given it comes with caramel sauce as well - not pictured) I’d definitely eat that with a hot tea to balance the sweetness. Overall such great products. I seriously would go back - My spouse isn’t gluten or dairy free and he felt like each product was so good he wouldn’t have known it’s allergen friendly.

It is truly the best stop to stop, sit down, catch your breath while eating the most tastiest dessert and still being healthy and guilt free (completely guilt free, as well as gluten free, egg free, nut free, etc etc etc :) )! Very friendly service! Server welcomed us to the store, learned that this was our first time there, guided through the options, pointed out her favorites, public's favorites, was even able to customize my latte order! And surely - they made it tough to choose! I wanted to try everything cause it all looks incredibly delicious. And not just looks - it really is! We tried strawberry cupcake (which was apparently the best selling cupcake) and this chocolate brownie with a smaller chocolate brownie on top (picture attached and this thing is the best selling dessert in the store) - both were so worth every penny paid! They also have couple of store copies of the culinary book written by the owner of the store - take a time to look through it - amazing pictures and it will also give you better understanding of the history of this little place - as its not about the food, it's about style of living :)

Can't say enough good things about this place. Even from the outside, it's gorgeous storefront lures you in for a delicious treat. You can tell every detail is carefully designed by their creators. Then comes the baked goods! I didn't even know everything in the menu was vegan, nut-free, gluten-free, etc. until I had devoured the whole thing! Everything was absolutely delicious, I'm so glad that they made this tasty experience accessible for everyone because everyone deserves to try Kelly's Bake Shoppe. Loved it so much that I bought their book and was pleasantly surprised to find that it was signed! I just can't wait to come back.

I love Kelly's Bake Shoppe! Even since moving out of town, I welcome any opportunity to come and grab some treats. Everything is gluten-free, nut-free (and I'm pretty sure other allergen-free, but you'd have to double check what exactly). Every time I stop by, I'm pleased by whatever cupcake, muffin, cookie, brownie I get. They are very consistent with their products, they taste fresh & moist, and the staff are always friendly from the moment you set foot in the shop.

Definitely recommend if you are coming to downtown Burlington and even just near by areas. I’ve had Kelly’s cupcakes before and found them delicious and didn’t even realize they were vegan, but free etc. tasted exactly how I wanted a cupcake to taste and better. Decided to take a stroll in Burlington this morning and ordered the morning glory muffin and snickerdoodle cookie thanks to a lovely ladies recommendation. I only have good things to say about the quality of food but the reason I’m actually posting this is the service.. that’s why I’d come back. She asked for my name, she used my name when asking how much sugar and milk I wanted in my coffee and when I left and just said “bye, thank you” she turned around and said “thanks for coming in Christina”. Now that is customer service you want to see at 9:00am in the morning and you are just having your first sip of coffee. Thank you!

C'mon people stop throwing away your money on these kinds of places... By these mean ridiculously expensive places that people fall in love with for whatever reason I cannot figure out. If you have a gluten allergy I can understand you coming here but c'mon the prices ARE RIDICULOUS ! We paid almost $30 for 2 TINY (1/3rd the size of a Tim Hortons muffin $6 and up), 2 SMALL cookies and one tea. That is absolutely ridiculous . I simply don't get it. The flavour JUST ISN'T THAT GREAT if I'm being completely honest so I truly don't get what the fuss is about. Remember we paid that amount for something roughly ONE THIRD the regular size of muffins/cookies ! Try it for yourself and compare it to regular muffins and cookies and you tell me if it's even HALF AS GOOD ! Sorry but not going back here again. Only reason I gave it 2 stars is because it has a nice layout

This is my favorite bake shop in all of North America! I would always drive from 3 hours away just for anything from here. I don’t have a favorite, I always get something new and it’s just as good or even better. They are so nice here, so helpful! I really think it is never a bad day if you’re in Kelly’s bake shop! Yesterday I got to see Erin in person (celebrity sighting!) who is the co owner and Daughter of Kelly. I have gotten advice and motivation from Kelly who pushed me to step outside my comfort zone and use my right to travel across the border. To me, Kelly’s bake shop isn’t just the best desserts but like home, where is it welcoming and cozy and you just feel comfortable there! Everyone should experience Kelly’s, you will NOT regret it. It is worth the 3 hour drive everysingetime! Can I give it 100 stars? ⭐️ x100

Hi there! I haven't been to your establishment, however I am very much looking forward to visiting you; but I had to write this review. My boss brought some donuts from your bakery, for staff to enjoy and omgoodness the donut I had was absolutely amazing! I couldn't believe that this was gluten-free, dairy-free, sweetened naturally... I really enjoyed it! I was going to save a piece for my husband to try BUT it was too good, that I ate it all! The flavors I tasted ... I think it was nutmeg, maybe a pumpkin spice... very flavorful. I am trying to watch what I eat to manage inflammation, so I stay away from treats, gluten, etc. I'm so happy that I have tasted something from your shop, I will definitely be visiting you with my family. Thank you for making such delicious treats, I can't wait to try more!

  • V T

THE BROWNIE. You’re welcome. Can’t get over that it’s all ‘less’ - minus all the typical ingredients you would use to bake such delicacies. Having said that, my lactose intolerant husband, vegan friend and gluten sensitive me were able to thoroughly enjoy each dessert. Notable mentions were obviously the brownie which had a piece a choc cake on top. The banana salted caramel cupcake (that’s what it tasted like) and the coconut cupcake. The only one that didn’t jive with our tastebuds was the lemon cupcake - but that’s a preference thing. It was a nice touch that they came and setup shop at Pfaff Porsche so we did not have to drive to Burlington. Having said that, we would make the trip to visit again and try the rest of the menu! Healthy and guilt free desserts :)

  • Alexandra Marques

Always love going to Kelly’s! However, surprised with some of the treats I got today. Caramel latte tasted nothing like caramel and the Santa’s cookie cupcake was just sweet on top of sweet. Didn’t taste anything like the description and I was so disappointed! :( also was the only one in line and was waiting to be served and greeted as girls up front were talking and chilling out behind the register. Also I must say, I wish their cupcakes were better in texture and taste. Describing a flavour and not tasting it is disappointing, especially because the cupcakes are more on the expensive side. The frosting falls off their cupcakes and the textures of it are chalky. Love Kelly’s but today was a bit different.

I absolutely love this adorable bake shoppe! I live in London, so I can't visit very often (sad!!). This place has awesome vegan & gluten-free treats! The prices are pretty high, but that's because the ingredients cost more than your usual white flour bakery. All vegan & gf bakeries come with a higher price tag, yes indeedy. There is a reason for that though. It's totally worth the extra money to enjoy slightly healthier treats! :) I will come back here again and again! Highly recommended. I love the raspberry oat squares the most (mile high brownie is a good back-up choice)!!! Probably more than anything else in life. Haha. Check this place out! Or don't....then there's more for me! Cheers!!

  • IEatTravelWrite

I have to admit, the first time I had Kelly's Mile High Brownie, I was impressed by the taste and loved it overall. However, I was definitely disappointed when I recently visited again. I got the same brownie and the poppy seed loaf. I didn't end up liking it this time, as it was missing the taste of freshness. Perhaps it had been sitting out all day or for more than a day, I'm not sure what it was. But it was not good. However, I really loved their drink & enjoyed sipping on their drip coffee made with coconut milk. I really like the interiors and exteriors of this place and find that it's such a cute spot. A bonus is that there is parking as well.

  • Emily VL

Firstly to counteract all the people saying this place is overrated and overpriced, it’s not. They have such a variety of baked goods which you will not find anywhere else. In Toronto there’s a few bake shops but they only carry 2 or 3 items and the price reflects that. At Kellys you’re paying for a huge variety of tasty/fresh items that are 100% vegan which is so hard to find. The Nanaimo bars are absolutely insane. We will always be stopping out of our way to come here anytime we are on a road trip. 10/10 highly recommend checking them out. Super friendly & speedy service and the shoppe is so cute and clean. I don’t have a single complaint!

  • Melissa Fewer

Everything was Very well packaged, delicious and enjoyed very much however it was extremely mouth watering sweet. I love.... Sweet but just a little less sweetness would perfect this. We also had the blueberry muffin which we absolutely loved! I don't stop here as often as it is a bit pricey. I wasn't thrilled that the price was different than what was listed on the website. An increase is not what the general public desires or needs especially during Covid. I understand the trying to cover extra costs but sadly I won't be going out of my way driving an hour and half each way to spend more then intended. Delicious but expensive

  • Rita Cossu

What a great find here in Burlington! Gluten free treats as well as dairy free, vegan/vegetarian choices to choose from. A great variety of treats to satisfy everyone's taste buds! Will definitely come back again!

I wish I could give zero starts. I don’t know how they have such a huge following on IG and so many reviews here. Their cream tastes so bad and their cakes taste like flaxseed. I tried their vanilla cup cake and it was bad, even my child couldn’t eat it. The only good part was that everything was less sweet but I would rather not eat any sweets than wasting my hard earned money that too in this economy. I never leave a negative review no matter what, but this time I just couldn’t help it. The staff was good but that’s it.

  • Chantal Crowe

I went here tonight as I saw they were a vegan facility and it is hard to find vegan desserts that actually taste good. As soon as I took one spoonful I knew that this was a good bakery. I was planning to eat half tonight and the rest later but ended up eating the whole thing it was so good. I will definitely be coming back again as well as ordering for family events as a few people in my family are also vegan. Also the staff were so friendly and helpful in making my decision easier. Thanks for the brownie!

  • Melanie Ramundo

Delicious!!! Had a lemon blueberry cookie, that was amazing. Got some cupcakes (creme egg one for Easter!), All wonderful. Also splurged on. The lemon poppy seed loaf (small individual portion) and also a morning glory muffin, the cinnamon cream cheese frosting is so awesome. Also had a lovely matcha shortbread tart of some kind, that was amazing! You can even buy some packs of 6 cupcakes from the freezer for later. They also sell ice cream, as well as ice cream sandwiches.

  • Virginia

All vegan sweet shop offering a menu of lots of desserts options ranging from cookies, cup cakes and ice cream. The ice cream options are limited and soy based. I suggest adding coconut or cashews based ice cream. Prices are a tad high for the taste. Presentation of food is on point. The location is ideal and space is limited. The shop is more intended for a grab and go but there are few tables for a nice coffee chat! Customer service is efficient and friendly.

Before visiting I heard so many good things about this place and upon arriving it definitely met ALL of my expectations! The store front is absolutely gorgeous, it was tastefully decorated and inviting. When entering it was very busy which meant it had to be good. The smells were so good and I was excited to see all of their delicious treats. I was in a bit of of a rush so didn't quite get the full experience but will definitely be back to indulge some more.

  • Tahnee Picken

You can't help but smile when you walk into Kelly's. It is so warm and cozy! The decor is beautiful and unique. All of the offerings are delicious. I love how salt is balanced into certain recipes. The matcha cookies are so delicious. I always purchased muffins, pumpkin scone, cupcake and a snickerdoodle. Nothing disappointed. I'm so thankful for the time and effort taken to make allergen friendly goods. I will always stop here when in Burlington

  • Chandelle and Matt King

Amazing atmosphere, decor, and dessert! We got the Mile High Brownie, Morning Glory Muffin, Double Chocolate Sundaes, Snickerdoodle, and Snickerdoodle sandwich. All dairy and gluten free. Yet remarkably flavourful, moist, melty, and delicious! Update on June 2, 2023. It's my second time trying the "new" oat-based chocolate ice cream (which used to be soy-based) and I still super hate it. So sad, because it used to be amazing!!

  • Jannie Rodrigues

A genuine treat! Not only do they make the most delicious treats, their staff are so friendly. You are always greeted with a warm Hello and they take the extra time to make you feel so welcomed. I brought my children and they asked them questions, gave them a sticker and made them feel so important. It made our day! True white glove customer service! Can’t wait to come back! Thank you Kelly’s Bake Shoppe ❤️

I came all the way from north of Toronto and Kelly’s did not disappoint!! I ordered the pumpkin spice latte and it was the best one I’ve ever had. Of course I had to try a dessert and the pumpkin scone + sunbutter chocolate cookie were delicious. Everything in there was so tasty and the staff made our experience even better. Not to mention, they make fresh dog treats that my dog LOVED. 10/10 recommend

We recently celebrated a family member's birthday who is on a brand new diet, with no gluten or diary. After a recommendation from a friend we drove 40 minutes to Kelly's and boy was it worth it! This place is amazing! It combines the best of both worlds - health and deliciousness. I love that I don't have to worry about my lactose allergy when I eat their treats! My favourite is their ice cream! Apparently it only has 7 ingredients which makes it much healthier than store-bought ones, and it tastes even better than dairy ice cream! I'm so obsessed!

A year or so ago the cupcakes were wicked good. I stopped by last week and they were just sugar and dough. Zero flavor whatsoever, what happened? The matcha cookie was really good. For the price one pays, one expects the flavors they indicate and not just sweet dough. Check your recipes or the person who makes them.

  • Lucatoni

This bakery was busy busy, friendly and nice staff. Had the brownies Sundai, was a lot for two lol. We took 2 skinny cookies (only item that is sugar free, they were delicious and tasted healthy!) And a takeout box of mixed cupcakes. The icing is too sweet for my liking, the cupcake is moist and perfect. Thank you

  • Olena Datsyuk

So overrated! An ok bakery with ok variety with inflated prices. I prefer my deserts a little more sophisticated than cookies and cupcakes. It's cute and location is nice. But the hype of the place missed me completely unfortunately. Service and atmosphere is nice. Though it's a small place to truly chill there.

  • Kirk Taylor

Best gluten-free bakery around, my wife and I travel over an hour to come to this location. They provide great variety where most shops do not and the owners are involved in the business, care about their staff and the quality of the product/business. Highly recommend the drive or if you are local stopping in!

  • Lauren Au

From the moment you step into the bakery you’re taken away from the amazing scents, wide range of desserts and stunning interior. Everything about Kelly’s bake shoppe is amazing!! The staff are so kind and the baked goods taste super delicious. I’m not vegan or gluten free but I highly recommend this place.

  • Annette A. Penney

Been coming here for years from Waterloo when I want a healthy gluten-free, dairy-free treat. Never disappoints. I do miss the wider variety of cupcakes that were available every day - now there are select flavours on specific days however I always find something I love and take home enough to freeze.

  • Sue Trad

It’s plant base, gluten free, dairy free, peanut free and pricey. Small and cozy but not comfortable seating. I ordered mile high brownie. I couldn’t tell the difference, flavours are there but lighter. if your diet dictates all these restrictions it’s a good alternative. Cupcakes were delicious.

Loved the cupcakes, I ordered the coffee break and it was delicious! The coffee was just ok, the aesthetics of the place just on point. Nice ambience, the service also really good. Highly recommended..

I love everything about Kelly’s. The treats, the staff, the ambiance, all of it. Shoutout to Peyton for being so so kind and patient with me when ordering my very allergic child’s birthday cake.

I ordered birthday cake from here. It’s little overpriced but yeah it’s worth it. My kid loves their cupcakes and me too of course. Lots of shakes also. I love their strawberry one the most.

Amazing place. I get treats regularly here for my fiancé and they often add an extra cupcake in my order for free

When u try these amazing cupcakes you'll never find out that they are gluten or dairy free, of course pricey which I couldn't blame them, a place where u must try

Amazing dairy free treats. Their mile high brownie and soft serve are the best. I can't believe their ice cream is dairy free, tastes better than most ice cream.

It's worth the drive to Kelly's! There's a reason their rating is as high as it is. (Actually, there are several reasons!)
