No stars! The rudest manager on this planet. I needed a piece of board cut in 1/2 , to be used in a charity workshop. My hands have suffered immensely and I had developed a severe rash due to all these different hand sanitizer...who knows what is in those bottles. At the entrance to Mica, a young, very enthusiastic chap had 2 of these spritzers, one in each hand. When I showed him my palms and told him that I have my own, he immediately called out for the manager (did not get his name) , who insisted that I could not step over the threshold until I had been spritzed. I told him I have my own to which he responded that I should get it for him to inspect and if he was satisfied and put it on in full view of him right there and then, he would consider allowing me to enter. There was more, needless to say I walked away and will NEVER set foot in that MICA EVER again

I visit here frequently when I need hardware stuff, well signposted, easily visible from the road, lots of off street parking, attractive shopfront. They recently completed renovations and the store looks even better than before, the rows and shelves are well demarcated enabling quick reference for what you are looking for. The staff are always willing and at hand to assist and help make your visit pleasant. A wide variety of goods, such as plumbing, electrical, hardware, paint, tools and much more, they now deal in Lp gas too. Prices are competitive to this market and they have more than one brand of items giving one a choice in price range they also have a wide selection of stock. So when you are in need of hardware, paint, plumbing, electrical and even tools, head in over to Kendal Mica Hardware and find what you need.

After leaving a positive review on my first experience with the staff, I have experienced a shocking visit. I bought a can of spray paint and while using it the can stopped working. I explained this to the person responsible at the paint section and he tried fixing the problem with some thinners. After several attempts he ended up going to the manager for advice. and this was the message I got.. we cannot fix the problem and we cant replace the can as it is basically finished. I asked him for a scale as I can feel there is still reasonable amount in and was told we don't have scales. So I bought a new can, took it to work and weighed it. New can 297g, my used can 154g. Its half. Needless to say I will never go back there...

Well, I think it is high time I voice my opinion of this store. Some reviews are correct as far as the friendly help and assistance received from some of the floor staff. However, the one person who should be taking heed is the “manager” of the store. Not only is he always grumpy but is unhelpful and could not care less. Come on man, don’t treat you customers like that. Is it because I am female? I asked a simple question regarding a fuse and your rudeness and awful attitude of not seeming to know anything is so off putting. Shame on you.

Bought the wrong part for my geyser. Only realised at 16h50, so RAN back (have no car). When I arrived I realised I had forgot my mask, made a plan with my shirt. But the security and the manager were actually gleeful as they told me I was not allowed in, they weren't going to help, and they were closing in the next 2 minutes. After a bitter argument they grudgingly went to the shelf and got the part. I suppose I should be grateful for that. They don't like my type, and I don't like them, won't ever go back.

Limited range. Stock levels were inadequate - I bought last stock of 4 varieties of washers and 2 varieties of bolts - could not get enough of any one variety. Inconsistent and illogical pricing. Pleasant and willing staff but completely locked down by "head office" re pricing. So, for example, a 75mm bolt was 7.99 and a 90mm bolt was 5.99. Plus, no packs to buy in bulk and save. Pity, the store could be so much better with better stock levels and some pricing equity

The Staff are always friendly, knowledgable and willing to assist no matter what what your requirements might be. Should they not be able to assist you with something they will suggest an equally good, sometimes better, product. They will rather not sell you something if they feel that it will not work for your application. Should they not have what you require they will offer to order it for you or suggest another local shoppe that stocks what you seek.

Service is excellent. They had everything except one item I was looking for, but the assistance I received was knowledgeable and professional. The store also follows strict covid protocols and asks customers routinely to put their masks on. Parking can be a nightmare, due to the popularity of the shops and steps to health being there, too, but overall this Mica gets a thumbs up from me.

Kendal Mica Hardware are a very personalized place where the staff are always accommodating when looking for what you need they will take you straight to it and are very knowledgeable about all their products. It is always a pleasure dealing with them as it feels like you are part of the family there with excellent service from the salesman to the ladies at the pay point

I’ve been going to the Kendal Mica for 15 or so years and from as early as I can remember the service has been the best I’ve experienced in Cape Town. Every time I find myself somewhere like a Builders I remember why I swore never to go back. Zero service, ignorant staff. Kendal Mica is the complete opposite. Always friendly, always ready to help with good advice.

I recently came to Mica Hardware, the staff are great and always ready to help and assist your projects! Their new range of items due to upgrading the store size is great, a bit unconventional but at the same time definitely improved comparing their older layout of the store. Come to Mica to support locals and their great business.

Great customer service, I went there to get some paint wanted to paint something and the guy from the paint section (didn't get his name but will definitely get it next time) was f great assistance he even gave me some tips since I had never painted anything and I kid you not my work came out nice.5 star service.

The staff is always super friendly and helpful. If they don't stock what you are looking for, they will either suggest a few places for you or ask one of their colleagues to do the same. That said, their range is really quite good! I haven't needed to go much further for most of my house DIY work. :)

All the sales assistants are men and I feel they stop listening half way through my question and start walking away to get me what they thought I need and then realise they only half listened. I appreciate the sense of urgency but would prefer they just listened to me until the end of my sentence.

Every time i go to Kendal Mica Hardware i am more impressed than the last.. Excellent service and good quality products at unbeatable prices. I have stopped going to any other hardware as this is my number one place for Hardware needs.. they got it all!

As far as friendly and helpful goes, this mica is top of the lust as far as hardware stores go. Everyone is literally there to make your shop an 10/10 experience. Manager or owner is on thst floor workingbitvwith his staff. Awesome awesome.

One of the best hardware stores to visit. It is kept clean, and what really sets it apart is the service from the many, many floor staff. They are kind, and always available. The cashbacks are great too... get the loyalty card for sure.

Friendly & helpful staff. Unlike many other places where you may struggle to find assistance, there was always at least 3 people on the floor offering to assist. Was able to find everything I needed in good time.

Best store in the area, they have a very wide variety of things and plenty floor staff, every time I have visited I have been guided to what I was looking for within minutes of walking into the store.

Nice to walk into a shop where the staff are dedicated to their job and to helping the customer efficiently. I know it sounds funny but it's few and far between these days. We'll done and keep it up.

Prices are alright but what makes the experience shopping here so great is the staff. Always helpful and always greeted with a smile. I'd rather spend the extra few rand here than go somewhere else.
