Food was really nice, not very traditional Japanese but tasty. The menu is quite confusing and it sometimes took asking the staff up to 3 times to get anything explained or stuff like plates and cutlery. We wanted to order banquets, the menu states min people 2, we think great no issues we have 5 people. However, turns out it's not minimum 2 it's also maximum 2, you can only order if you have even numbers so one person has to miss out. Fine, whatever, annoying but no big deal. Then we start getting food. Banquet on the menu say it includes: miso, edamame, bao buns, taco, katsu, gyoza, creme brulee. Each person is brought a miso, a bao, a taco, a gyoza and the edamame and katsu are shared plates. Then dessert, 2 creme brulee come, placed on table, server leaves average single serve looks tasty. We wait for the other 2, we wait about 15-20min, in this time the other 2 people eat theirs. We wave over a different server and ask about the others, they say they will go check. They come back and inform us that the 2 creme brulee were actually to share between the 4 people. Everything else was easily split, the miso came in separate bowls, so how were we meant to know the creme brulee didn't? We try to get another for the people that missed out and are told they've sold out, at 8pm on a Saturday, we were 1 of 5 tables there from 6:30pm to 8. The whole thing just caused a lot of confusion and took away from the nice meal

This is an interesting place. When we first spotted it from down the road, we weren't sure if it was a restaurant... mostly because of the entrance and lighting. However, it is a restaurant until 9pm, then becomes a nightclub. It got quite full by 7 pm, which was great to see. The staff were excellent and very friendly and attentive. The food is not bad, but there is nothing to write home about. The cauliflower and tofu dishes were our favourite out of everything. They have a nice wine list. Maybe we ordered poorly and should go back again and try something else. Or, if you are looking to share snack food or are coming for drinks and want a snack, I can see how this menu could work. For us, the dumpling meat was dry, almost like they had cooked the meatball, then put it in the wrapper, then cooked the whole dumpling as people ordered. The karaage pieces were small and not as good as others out there. The pork in the bao was a bit dry, in my opinion. Looked like something you'd use for pulled pork. Overall, ok, but I guess we are a bit picky, and it may be our poor food choices.

With a moody interior, with lots of red and neon lighting, Kenjin hopes to take you on a journey from dining to partying, and I'm all for it. Highlights: the potato okonomiyaki. Loved it so much, we ordered two. (Seriously, I could come back and demolish five of these alone.) Eye fillet was cooked beautifully too. It was served on mash, with mushrooms and there was this sauce that was poured over, that was delicate, but highlighted the Japanese influence, with that dashi umami-ness. This would have been one of my favourite Japanese places, if the sashimi had been as good as the other food. I'm not sure if it was a one off, but the sashimi wasn't fresh and was actually difficult to eat. Grapefruit Paloma was a little too bitter for my liking. Lastly, would have loved a knife and fork - is anyone actually able to eat steak and saucey mash with chopsticks??

From the moment we walked in to the moment we left the service was outstanding. A big shout out for everyone working there tonight. You all work well together. Credits also go to the chefs. Every dish we ordered was full of flavour and cooked well. We cannot wait to come back and try more items on the menu including the amazing cocktails. The decor is just so beautiful and the ambiance is also really nice. Whilst writing the review I realised that the Katsu Chicken dish was supposed to be served with steamed rice but was not served to us.

A fantastic feast for the eyes and the stomach. Loved the decor and wonderful service. I'd highly recommend a leisurely shared plates dinner and taste tingling cocktails. Then an energetic workout on the dance floor when the nightclub area opens

“Nihonshu wa ryori wo erabanai”, what a great venue for celebrations. I love this place! From being greeted at the entry and provided with celebratory birthday cocktails, the staff were friendly, welcoming and provided great food recommendations. The meals were presented wonderfully and the service was prompt. The venue is alluring with Asian inspired deco. And to make things better, Kenjin after dark is behind the restaurant. Very fun, tasty cocktails and good music.

A venue of pure excellence, from the front of house to the back. You can really tell the team at Kenjin cares about their customers experiences. Chef Nic came out personally and took the time to take us through the menu and explain to the finest detail about the exquisite food he’s put on this menu. Cocktails were Devine! Every sip was enjoyed. Can’t recommend more to anyone who wants a truly brilliant night out with a touch of class.

Just want to warn you do not go to this club, their security guard is just a low life scumbag. When he pushed me and my friend to pass us, I said no need to be so rude. His immediate reaction is to ask me to leave the queue to the club immediately despite I didn’t do anything wrong, no swearing no physical attacks, he just abuse his power so he can look like a man. Please don’t go to a club that treats ppl like that, and also only bully girls who can’t push back.

What can I say ..... Kenjin would have to be the best place for food, service and atmosphere. Our meal was absolutely delicious. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this venue, not only for their food, but for their entertainment and night life. Such an awesome place to go and will definitely not disappoint.

The service and the food was amazing. They were so attentive and able to recommend yummy dishes!A little hidden gem this place !!! The chicken karate and cauliflower was divine. EDIT- this was a 5 star review. However I came back a couple of months later with some friends on a Saturday night and had a terrible experience. Most of the cocktails had sold out and it was only 7pm :(. The food wasn’t the same either. Such a shame that it wasn’t consistent as I really enjoyed my first experience.

I love this place for the music and vibe but they should let you know at the door if there is a specific type of music playing that night as I come to this club for the hip pop and rnb music not other (especially when it’s the whole night). I do really like this place!!

Service was good. Food was slow. The Hibachi dishes were good, would have like both dishes to be served at the same time and the calamari to be warm. It arrived cold. The miso soup was way too salty.

Staff were ok. But the atmosphere wasn't what was expected. Was expecting more of a restaurant than a night club with food.... The food was good but was very expensive. For a Japanese restaurant I expected sake, they had 5 on the menu (from
