I recently had an urgent situation with my dog and had to rush to Kew Gardens Emergency Vet for immediate care. While I was able to secure an appointment on the same day, my overall experience left much to be desired. Unfortunately, I cannot wholeheartedly recommend this emergency vet based on the quality of care and customer service I received. Upon arrival, I found the clinic to be fairly clean, and there were thankfully not many people waiting. The availability of ample seating was a plus. However, I was left waiting for over an hour before I was seen by the doctor, which felt frustrating considering the urgency of the situation. Once I finally had the opportunity to speak with the vet, they assured me that no procedures would be performed without first discussing the associated costs. This was a reassuring statement, but the subsequent misdiagnosis of my dog's condition raises concerns about the accuracy and thoroughness of their examinations. When I initially described my dog's symptoms of diarrhea and vomiting, blood tests were conducted, and I was informed that everything appeared normal. The vet provided me with diet food and medications for vomiting, diarrhea, and appetite enhancement. I was told the diagnosis was probably gastosis for insurance purposes. Unfortunately, my dog's condition worsened after administering the prescribed medication. She began refusing to walk and experienced abdominal pain, causing me to contact the clinic once again for assistance. The receptionist I spoke to during my follow-up call displayed a discourteous attitude and recommended that I wait to see if my dog improved, attributing her pain to the blood draw. However, I insisted on bringing my dog back in, resulting in a delayed response from the clinic. I was left waiting for five hours before finally receiving a call back and scheduling another visit. During my second visit, the same unwelcoming receptionist greeted me, and the doctor performed another examination on my dog. When I saw the doctor, he was reassuring and kind. He told me we would get to the bottom of her pain. This time, he recommended further tests, including blood tests, a feces test, and an x-ray. To mitigate costs, I agreed to proceed with the blood tests, which revealed that my dog had pancreatitis. However, I waited over an hour for the test results due to other emergencies, which prolonged my dog's discomfort. Upon receiving the positive diagnosis, the doctor hastily provided me with two medications for pain relief and promptly attended to other patients. When I sought clarification from the receptionist regarding the purpose of the medications, whether I should continue other medications, and what lifestyle changes I should make, I encountered unhelpfulness and confusion. My request for a call back from the vet was ignored for two days, leaving me feeling neglected and uninformed. Additionally, when I requested my dog's medical records for insurance purposes, the receptionist failed to provide them immediately and promised to email them to me instead. It took a week of persistent follow-up calls to finally obtain the records, indicating a lack of attention to detail and customer service. When I consulted my regular veterinarian regarding the treatment I received at Kew Gardens Emergency Vet, they were appalled by the quality of care and service I encountered. In summary, while there were some positive aspects such as same-day appointments and a relatively clean environment, my overall experience at Kew Gardens Emergency Vet was disappointing. The misdiagnosis of my dog's condition and the worsening of her symptoms were deeply concerning. Moreover, the lack of timely and effective communication, unhelpful receptionists, and difficulties obtaining medical records highlight serious shortcomings in the clinic's professionalism and commitment to quality care. Unless you find yourself in a dire and immediate emergency, I would advise seeking an alternative veterinary emergency service to ensure your pet receives the best possible care and attention.

Dirty facilities, extreme wait time, weird about releasing my cat’s medical records, negligent with my cat’s (expensive) treatment!!! Do not go here!! My cat started showing signs of an ear infection and I worried ear mites could be the cause, so I brought my cat in to this animal hospital to be seen. This place had pretty good reviews online, so I made us an appointment. On the first visit, it took a couple hours to be seen even though we made an appointment. I do understand that it’s a clinic that sees emergencies and wait times can vary, but what could’ve been a 1.5 hour vet visit max was 3+ hours between wait time, treatment and billing. Anyway, the appointment itself was maybe 15 minutes out if that time. The patient room itself was not clean. Maybe they wiped the main counter off, but there was dust and dirt and animal hair *everywhere*. My cat’s treatment ended up being over $175.00 and they didn’t actually look at any swabs for my cat’s ear under a microscope. They said if it didn’t go away they’d biopsy his ear. They didn’t send me home with a receipt or description of any treatment information. Made a follow up appointment and waited 2.5+ hours to be seen for yet another 15 minute appointment. The doctor we saw looked in his ears and told me his ear canal was clean, and that there was nothing there. He wiped around the effected ear and said it was just excess ointment (this didn’t make sense to me in the moment, because the other ear was clean and fine, while the other had an obvious brown discharge yet again!). I asked him if he was sure because I thought it really didn’t look normal, but he insisted it was the ointment. Then, he said my cat’s teeth needed cleaned (something NOT mentioned the week prior during our first appointment when they said he was in great health) and quoted me $400 for a cleaning. I payed for the second appointment and brought my cat home. I look in his ear and sure enough it was dirty, and there’s discharge that is obviously not the clear ointment. Also, my cat is an indoor cat with a clean home. Even if there was some debris in the ointment, there is no cause for that much gunk! I called that night to make an appointment with another clinic in the area because I felt something was not right. Side note, when I called and asked for medical records of that first visit so I could let the new clinic know what they put in his ears originally, they were very weird and difficult about giving me access to the appointment information. They still have not send it my way. We were seen at another clinic today, and firstly, the level of cleanliness and professionalism was different by leaps and bounds. We were seen within 20 minutes of appointment as new clients, the facilities were super sterile and the vet and assistants were very kind and thorough. The doctor there took a look in my cat’s ear and agreed that something was not right. He was also surprised that long-lasting antibiotic ointment was put in his ear without a test under a microscope. Our vet took a swab of his ear to test himself. Low and behold, my cat has a fungal infection and not a bacterial infection in his ears, and received an incorrect and expensive treatment. He was prescribed an ear wash, daily anti-fungal and steroid to help with comfort since his ear had become irritated from lack of proper treatment. Also, my cat’s teeth are in wonderful condition and we were recommended to simply brush his teeth more often. No $400 cleaning needed at the moment. In conclusion, my cat’s condition went untreated for an extra two weeks because of the negligence here, the hospital as a whole was not very professional about communicating wait times or clean, they were weird about sending me our records (which, frankly, makes me suspect they probably didn’t keep any), they tried to have me spend an extra $400 on a procedure not even needed at the moment, and the nearly $230 and 5 hours I spent here could’ve gone towards the $250 I spent at another vet for accurate and efficient services. Would not recommend going here.

KGAH has taken care of our dog since the beginning. The last visits have been traumatic for us all. Then the latest procedure, neutering. Our dog was panicked at the door. So I should have just turned around and looked for another doctor. Here is what makes it so horrible: I got a quote of about $365 for the procedure. Well that was acceptable. When we came in with our dog at 10AM, I had to pay a deposit. I offered to pay in full. The price was $570!. I told them that was wrong and to recheck the computer. I told them I was quoted $365. The receptionist asked if I had a copy of the quote. That's when I felt the cold realization I was in trouble. I said the quote should be in the computer in our account. She looked and said it looked like it wasn't saved. I won't say she deleted it, but she was doing what seemed to be more typing than necessary. I was irate and couldn't understand how they could "lose" my quote and jack up the price 50%. I just got a blank look. I gave deposit instead and left my poor dog to these people. I got the call about 6PM to pick up our dog. Our dog's face was drenched in saliva from stress. The staples from the incision looked haphazard. I went to pay and the charge was $785!!!. This was enough. You expect this kind of chicanery at an auto mechanic shop not your pet's doctor. And they charged for the visit which I had to remind them again of. The doctor hid in the back while I argued the charges. I argued that any reasonable would make at least an attempt to accommodate a valued customer and that everytime I come in, I have to have the doctor visit charge reversed. The receptionist chose to fight me vigorously on the term "accommodate" . She stated that since every time we've come, they have "accommodated" us. I countered that everytime I have to remind you not to charge my free visit, it's not an accommodation, it's attempted robbery. I refused to pay. Just the medicine was $140. I paid the fee minus the medicine. I was told I needed to sign a paper refusing the medicine. Again I refused. This was traumatizing because this was occuring in front of the entire family. While my wife awaited the list of medications so we could try to get it ourselves, I went our front to record. I've waited a couple of weeks to write this to get perspective. The facilities seem clean. I've never seen the basement area where they conduct procedures. They staff and doctor we had all seemed capable and friendly. This past year, there seemed to be a lot of interns and I haven't seen our original doctor in over a year. Anyway, we got an order from Chewy of $44.55 for our dog's medicine. We got a call from the doctor wanting to resolve the situation probably due to the fact they saw me recording outside. The doctor said he was concerned for the dog and wanted me to come back in the morning for the medicine. He would only charge me "half-price" for the medicine, which was $70 compared to the $44.55 charged by Chewy. There was a delay to our order because it had to be approved by the doctor. So I just accepted the offer to have done with it. I was anxious the day we returned to remove the staples. Our dog was terrified and we had to accompany our pet to the last door. I am concerned as I don't believe it was effectively done. My one surprise was we were not charged for the removal of the staples. In the end, the KGAH looks clean, they have snacks for pets. If you purchase a medical plan, be sure to remind them at every visit. Please, Please, Please get your quote in writing and save it. Ask about anticipated "extra charges". At my last visit, I got a text to rate and share my experience. I anticipate that after seeing me film outside, they decided to be proactive and ask clients for reviews to bump up their numbers.

IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR PET AT ALL DO NOT TAKE THEM HERE. I have held off on putting a review online only to find out the issue is this place is horrible. I took my cat here for a check up, it was a horrible experience and I really should have taken that as a warning. Diana the medical assistant was very rude and rough housed my cat. I let it be known I was unhappy and was told to speak to the office manager Martha. Weeks later Martha never called me back. I went in for his dental a couple of weeks later thinking let me give them another try when Diana wasn't in. And really because the receptionist Carla was an absolute gem on the phone I figured let me give them another chance. I should not have done that. I was told to bring him in the morning, he had not eaten from midnight before and I kept calling for the status and was told the doctor did not get to him yet. Mind you he had nothing to eat or drink from midnight before. 3 pm I finally decided if he's not being worked on yet I will go pick him up. I called and was told they are working on him now. So he was sitting in a cage downstairs traumatized all these hours. THEY DO NOT HAVE A DENTAL XRAY MACHINE. This no one mentioned to me. They did a dental without an X-ray machine? Who does that? My cat came home with severe bruising on his paw that it was completely black and blue. They knew what they did because when I went to pick him up he was handed to me in his carrier and no one said anything. When the doctor called to tell me about the dental I said to him what did your staff do to my boy that he's so bruised up? The response was, I apologize I yelled at them for it. This was in August I am now calling for the medical records because he had a visit at a professional establishment and I'm told I have to wait for the doctor to get my boy's dental records. They took forever to send it but it's my understanding the staff cannot send out anything unless the doctor approves it. Can you imagine the dentist at the new establishment is waiting for dental records from this office and all they received was a copy of the doctor's notes saying a dental was suggested. Meanwhile I have the bill that shows a dental was done there. They have nothing showing their findings from his dental. So you charged me all this money, did not inform me you did not have a dental X-ray machine and continued to do under the table service. Stay away from this place they will not last long. Extremely unprofessional, the only good ones there are Carla and the two cats living there. Very disappointed and will also post this review on my instagram.

Visited the place for the first time for my cat's annual check up. My cat doesn't like trips to the vet so he had to be sedated as usual. He was taken from the exam room and moved to another room for the sedation. The assistant came up to me and told me that they had to file his nails. I thought it was part of the annual exam for I had not requested that service. But I was wrong. The charge was on the invoice. I discussed the issue with Dr. Shark and he acknowledged that I was not supposed to be charged because the nail trim was performed for safety reasons. I appreciated Dr. Shark's time and explanation. He instructed the lady at the front desk to adjust the invoice but she couldn't so we agreed on applying the credit towards my cat's urine analysis. The second incident happened with the urine analysis fee. I was provided with a kit to collect the urine. My cat doesn't like changes. Needless to say, the non-absorbent litter I received at the office was of no use. My cat didn't use the litter box for three days. I informed the office over the phone and went back to use his regular litter to extract the sample. I called the office again and asked for the urine analysis fee. I was told it would be $65. When dropping off the urine sample, I was hit with a $104 bill - $65 was for the test and $39 for the non-absorbent sand - a total of $104. I was not informed of the $39 fee. I don't mind paying for what is needed as long as I am given the details. Never experienced anything like this before. I called the office to discuss the charge. According to them, they stated that I was informed of the charge and that the credit for the nail cutting would be applied towards the urine kit. The doctor did not state that and neither did any other member of staff. The assistant had previously claimed I didn't understand the info because of a "language barrier". A professional person would have said that it was a misunderstanding, but sadly, there is a lack of communication in that office. I ended up not getting the urine test done thru them and I lost my store credit. Ashley processed the refund but was unable to provide an invoice with zero balance. The invoice I received shows a balance of $24. She said I would receive the updated invoice that would reflect a zero balance via email. Almost three weeks later, and I am still waiting for the updated invoice and the microchip for the rabies vaccination which they didn't have when the vaccine was administered. . I will have to visit the office again......

In all honesty, I cannot even begin to express the profound appreciation, admiration and just overall love that I have for this place. About a month ago, I adopted a 'senior' dog that turned out to have more complications than I thought or was told, which was both upsetting and discouraging. As a recent struggling graduate, I was afraid that I wouldn't find an establishment that would give Buddy the proper care and attention he required while simultaneously working around my personal circumstances. I was beginning to think that I'd made a mistake in taking him in because I wouldn't be able to live up to the role of the pet mom this sweet, adorable pup deserved...until I found Kew Gardens Animal Hospital. Overall, it is very evident how much the staff here genuinely cares about the well-being of the animals that come in. They consistently make you feel welcome and truly go the extra mile to help both you and your pet feel at ease. Although I was skeptical at first, out of fear of leaving Buddy in the wrong hands, I immediately developed a strong trust as a result of the incredibly positive, high spirited, knowledgeable energy that was present during all my visits. On top of treating Buddy as if he was theirs, these people not only showed how much they sincerely wanted to help us out, but they were exceptionally patient in explaining my options, working around my situation and making sure that I knew what was happening every step of the way. While my very first interaction was with the lovely Carrie and Dr. Botros, the visits leading up to the day of Buddy's procedure were primarily with Jean/Dr. Botros and Martha and I have to say that even as a first-time dog owner, I have never encountered such wonderful, kind-hearted individuals that are as passionate about what they do as they are. Thanks to the expert care and warmth provided by Dr. Botros, Dr. Shark and Martha, Buddy is happy, healthy and doing much better now. I'm truly at a loss of words when it comes to explaining how forever grateful I will be for these people and this place in general but rest assured that I will be making this my go to place for all of my pets’ medical needs. All that said, I highly recommend Kew Gardens Animal Hospital and hope that any pet owner looking for a friendly, sympathetic one stop veterinary establishment will give this place and it’s amazing people a chance.

The doctors are very nice and caring. They try to help in every way possible, but Martha the receptionist is very very nasty. She's been there a while so people tolerate her but her attitude is disgusting. The other girls are very nice and welcoming but Martha is the PITS!!! I had an unexpected scare from my puppy when I got home so I rushed him to the vet. After the visit wit the vet ,my payment declined. Martha treated me as if I would steal my puppy's medication off the counter or run out the office or something. I simply asked if I can come the next day to pay and she was very nasty saying "You cant get the Medicine!" I replied, "I know that. I am just asking will his medicine and urine analysis be available and still sent to lab." Martha did not reply, the other vet assistance said it will be. Earlier in the visit they took a urine analysis and the vet and vet assistance confirmed that it was enough urine. After my payment declined, the vet assistance said she'll put the urine in the refrigerator and when I come tomorrow they could send it off to tell me if they're are any underlining issues with my puppy. I guess after Martha and I's little back and forth in confusion as to why she is being so nasty to me, she threw away my puppy's urine. Not knowing, when I went back the next day to pay, inconveniencing me, my puppy and making the process longer I had to take home a urine bottle and return it and wait for result, when results could have been given sooner. When asked what happen to the urine, another receptionist, not Martha said she was unsure. Luckily nothing is wrong with my puppy, but vengeful people working in this type of atmosphere is not safe for anyone's pet. Martha is supposed to help not sabotage and make the process longer.

In this Spiritual Season, we wanted to honor and show much gratitude and gratefulness to Dr. Jean Botros, an amazing, caring Vetetarian and Vetetarian Surgeon at Kew Gardens Animal Hospital over at 118-27 Metropolitan Avenue. Three weeks ago today, on 11/30, Dr. Jean Botros performed very risky, very life threatening, complicated surgery on our Lab mix Rachael, 2 days after her 13th Birthday. She had a very nasty, large, aggressive Mast tumor on her hind leg, with other smaller tumors in nearby places and was given a 50/50 chance of surviving the complicated surgery. Dr. Jean Botros performed an almost 4 hour surgery with ease and percision and literally saved her life. We were in awe and grateful shock as although we had deep hope and prayed she'd make it, due to the severity of the situation we were also preparing for the possible worst. Dr. Jean Botros performed a Miracle for our Rachael. He made what seemed impossible, beyond very possible. I highly recommend this doctor for any and all your veterinary needs. It is a hidden gem in Kew Gardens, as is he. He gave Rachael and us the gift of more time with her. Three weeks later she is absolutely thriving and is just about back to her old self. Dr. Jean Botros was willing and compassionate and gave Rachael a fighting chance where she had been turned away at other and our usual facility or where it was made impossible to move forward. Kew Gardens Animal Hospital made it possible where others didn't. We will be forever grateful to him and their entire staff for saving our Forever "Puppy" Rachael. Jackie and Richard Cunniff

This place is a rip-off. Front desk is unprofessional. No wonder they always empty. They are trying to make extra money on scheduled same day appointment as an emergency. I would understand if they were fully booked and tried to accommodate you , but no - they had plenty appointments available.... Sorry to say, but even for human appointment Doctor would never charge you extra if he/she can see patient the same day. This is a wrong approach to handle a business. They tried to get extra money and at the end lost hundreds of dollars from seeing us today. We will never go back. We did not find that this place has good policy and human heart . P.S. To my surprise instead of apology like every good business would do you are trying to make excuses, without knowing what happened. First of all, we were there around 9 am to hear that doctor is not in and will be after 12 pm. Do I need to say that you open from 8am? What busy doctors are you talking about if clinic was open and had only 2 eating secretaries in place? Secondly, we were willing to wait and were trying to make appointment for later that day. Guess what, appointments were available, but secretaries said they still will charge us emergency fee. And how busy you are if your stuff said that appointment not even needed. We can just walk in......but still it will be considered an emergency!!! LOL Juniper Valley gave us appointment and saw in timely and highly professional manner same day.

I called yesterday at 4:22 PM, informed the receptionist of the emergency that was happening with my dog and she informed me to come on in. I was quickly escorted back, the receptionist even helped with speaking with a previous vet to obtain vaccination records so I could spend more time with my dog. Every person who I came in contact with was nice, caring, respectful and eased my mind during such a stressful situation. Every time a new avenue was discussed an estimated bill was brought to me, although I would pay an arm and a leg to make my little girl feel better I appreciated so much how in-depth they went during the process, explaining all procedures, pricing, etc. ( and I will say fair pricing especially considering the emergency visit) The vet techs who helped hold and console my dog during blood work, and taking her to and from X-rays will never be forgotten, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Sharkawy- calm, professional and caring- everything you need during an emergency situation. Being 8.5 months pregnant and dealing with this was amazing solely due to the staff, they helped so much when I physically could not- THANK YOU! We recently moved to the area, and I am so grateful my Google search brought me here last night! This is going to be our vet from now on!

[Detailed below] I meant to remove this review as it could have been an isolated case. But I cannot do it on google review....Therefore I am changing it to a more neutral rating of 4 star with more details below. — The good: • At a time of frantic worrying, they are one of the few animal hospitals that take walk-ins and actually had a time to accommodate us on the same day as we called. • Staff was kind and empathetic of the situation (where my pet had some self-induced wounds) • Doc did a quick examination and though not thorough, it was reassuring as a pet owner that someone with experience provided some basic guidance. What can probably be better: • More thorough options other just surgeries (which costs A LOT) when people might be cash-strapped and worry-sick. • Asking more detailed questions of how it happened, how long has it been before resorting to high-cost options during the basic examination ($65) • Provide potential second opinion from the other vet within the practice? I understand that business has to make money, but sometimes it might not be the best for the pet? or the situation? All in all, the pet is okay now, and I wish the situation could be better where money was no issue and pet is always healthy, but THAT is def more difficult to achieve.

Be careful!!! It is a place where they only want the money. They don't care about pets. I took my dog of (9 months) for a check-up and a Travel Certificate and the doctor, regardless of whether my puppy had already received the rabies vaccine (4 months before), it was given again. tube because of them, a double dose, which unleashed that my puppy is sick with diarrhea and vomited. I went to ask for an explanation and another vet attended me and apologized for the error. Error that I had to pay out of pocket again, the consultation and the medications because of his error. My dog could have died. but they only care about money. They charged me $280us for the consultation and for a Metronidazole drops, which I paid for a 7-day treatment and when I told them that this medicine was very little, they replied: I did not worry that it is for 7 days. Which was a lie. only Metronidazole lasted 4 days. And where is the medicine for the other 3 days that were needed ... They steal from your face. Then I paid them a vitamin supplement that cost me $ 49us and I saw it at Target and Walmart for $ 16us. They only want your money they care about pets. Too expensive !!!

Bc of COVID, it’s been a nightmare trying to locate a clinic who won’t turn you away to the ER when your pet is sick. I was fortunate to have found this place and an appointment was available when my dog wasn’t feeling great. Bc I was a vet tech for 10 years, I’m wary and particular about the vets I choose for my animals’ care and I have been on the hunt for a solid doctor to care for my old dogs since I moved to NYC a few years ago. Staff over the phone and in person were sweet and friendly. During the appointment, the doctor gave me a well thought-out plan for my girl and answered my questions honestly. He didn’t try to add any other extra services and truly wanted to get to the root problem for her illness. I’m not sure of any of their preventative services, but the diagnostics were very reasonable IMO. I’ve dealt with a lot of vets in my former career and Dr. Shark is one of those doctors you immediately trust bc of his very apparent intelligence, straightforward and understanding bedside manner, and his patience with clients and their pets. I’m so happy and RELIEVED to have finally found a doctor to care for my dogs in their golden years.

I am so grateful to have found Kew Gardens Animal Hospital. Although it was my first time visiting them, they still made special accommodations to see me because my cat had an emergency situation. They had me bring her in right away, they gave me her test results while I waited. I love that they have an in-house lab! Dr. Shark was extremely thorough and knowledgeable. His bedside manner towards us and towards all of the other pet parents was phenomenal. I had a few questions after I left the clinic and Dr. Shark responded to my messages immediately! He even made further special accommodations to try and help my cat even though they are closed on Sundays at the moment. My cat’s tests results were fairly good, but she was very old and she had a few health issues that finally caught up with her so she passed away right before we left to go to our Sunday appointment. For being a first time client, the care and service that Dr. Shark and his entire staff gave me was FIVE STAR. I would definitely recommend Kew Gardens Animal Hospital!

If you're looking for a vet that genuinely cares about the welfare of your pet. This isn't it. I never got a diagnosis for my pet. Was never offered any finanical or medical help, options or alternatives. The vet would see my pet for maybe 5-7mins tops, offer expensive, temporary solutions and that was it. (could've found cheaper meds on chewy or pet meds)I eventually went to the Veterinary Care Group in Little Neck and explained my situation. They right away offered pet insurance, care credit and other solutions because they understood it can get expensive. They also offered and explained the test that they run in detail. I would not have had a problem with the costs of services if I felt like I was actually being helped instead of robbed. Unfortunately, I was never able to get my pet to the new vet I found because he passed away the day before the appointment. 2 vet visits at kgah in less than 30 days before my pet died with no answers. I'm not blaming kgah for his death. I just think more could have been done.

Their girls made a mistake of charging my Care Credit account on a 6 month payment plan instead of the 12 months I requested. Their error cost me hundreds of dollars of interest fees as I usually put everything on autopay and forget them. Had I known this I would have paid off this card and or never used it in the first place. Also, they go into oral surgery quoting me $1,000 or so in fees, then come out of surgery charging me $2,600. They will take advantage of you when they can, because your pet is laying on their operating table. I will give 2 stars for a successful dental cleaning and dental extraction. Wouldn't you expect that after paying nearly $3000? EDIT: Owner of this office called me after reading this bad review, not to correct or even acknowledge their error, but to deflect responsibility and be confrontational. First he tried to claim they have no control over the payment plans of Care Credit, then he says they always choose the longer term plan for their customers, thereby contradicting himself?!

So pleased with my experience here! My cat was not eating for 2/3 days and was vomiting and had diarrhea. After calling about 5 other vets and telling them the situation, they offered us appointments in 2 days, one even offered us an appointment in 4 days. That was way too long to wait since my baby was not eating. We called kew gardens animal hospital at 6pm (they closed at 8pm) and they told us that we could come in that night for an emergency visit. We arrived around 7:20, didn’t wait very long at all, and the doctor and staff were so friendly and professional. They gave my cat an IV and 2 injections, then 2 antibiotics to use for a week at home. The prices were very reasonable considering it was an emergency visit. As soon as we got home my kitty ran right over to her bowl and ate so much. She’s already feeling better, and eating/drinking normally. I highly recommend this vet for your pets needs and I’m so happy the other vets didn’t work out because it brought me here! Thank you Dr. Henin and staff! :)

My cat wasn’t feeling well, and so I had to make an appointment pretty quickly. The staff was so helpful and followed up with an opening when another appointment got canceled so I could bring my cat in sooner. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and clearly care about animals. They did a general check up on my cat and resolved the bowel issues. My cat also has dental issues (which I kind of figured) and she needs several teeth extracted. The veterinarian’s assistant walked me through the estimate for the costs and was so kind to me and my sweet cat and didn’t pressure me to move forward. Costs were a little higher than I’d expected for the extraction, but the assistant shared a breakdown of the costs, which helped me understand and see where the costs were coming from. The costs for the regular visit examination and assessment of her bowel issue were definitely affordable. Thank you for taking the time to make me feel comfortable with the procedures and explaining the costs to me!

I can't say enough great thing's about this establishment. The two doctors make you feel like family and care for your pet like it's their own. The staff is amazing as well with their professionalism and care. Kew Gardens Animal Hospital is a one stop shop literally for your pets medical needs from shots, dental, surgeries, diagnostics, etc! Their prices are the lowest I have found in all my years of being a pet owner. To get the Best care for the lowest prices and have all your pet needs addressed under one roof, I couldn't ask for more. I highly recommend this animal hospital as they have provided Expert care and treatment when my Yorkie who is my baby was having severe seizures. If you love and care for your pet like family cause that's what they are then do yourself and your pets a favor and make Kew Gardens Animal Hospital your go to for all your pets medical/health care needs! You will not regret it and I am very thankful/appreciative that I found them.

I really like this Veterinarian Hospital. My large Golden Doodle was really dry coughing and hacking and we were quite startled. He eats like Godzilla, just breathes in his food so we thought it was something stuck in his throat. After calling many places the only appointment were weeks away and the 24 hour hospital was a bit far away. Luckily here, they let us bring him with like 5 hours notice. They started minimal after hearing him go through a fit. Took his temperature and he had a fever. Instead of having him go through a battery of costly tests, they gave him a shot, some prescriptions and within a couple days the symptoms were reduced and after a week all gone. So glad it did not cost us a fortune. So I like the methods here as I read about some places being a overly costly. Plus they gave what seems a reasonable estimate to remove some growths. Good deal. To top it off, the front desk and assistance are extremely friendly and courteous.

THIS IS THE WORST VET I HAVE EVER BEEN TO. This animal hospital was doing tests on my very small dog and they cut her and made her bleed in several places while shaving her sides and stomach for an ultra sound. THEY SENT HER HOME BLEEDING WITH NO BANDAGE AND DID NOT EVEN TELL ME WHAT HAPPENED. She came home screaming, crying and would not let anyone touch her or pick her up. She was bleeding all over the place from the cut this vet inflicted. It is unbelievable that a vet would send a dog home like this without even letting the owner know what happened. On top of this, they still misdiagnosed my dog and I had to go see another vet who found the issue in one visit. The issue had gotten so bad from being misdiagnosed for so long that she needed to get emergency surgery. EDIT: The hospital called me and yelled at me for leaving this bad review. Instead of apologizing for INJURING and traumatizing my dog, they yelled at me for telling the truth.

I really enjoy going to this place for my kitty! Since last year they have gone above and beyond for my fur baby. After adopting her at 8 weeks, I learned she had numerous health issues and I was really sad and overwhelmed. I went to a few other vets before and felt like they lacked empathy and were just about the money. Anyways, Dr. B encouraged me that she would be okay, and came up with a plan to nurse her back to good health. He is very compassionate and knowledgeable. It took some time to overcome some of her health concerns, but she just turned 1 and is so healthy and playful!!! So glad I found this place! Also, Martha and Diana are so sweet, patient, and helpful. I ask a lot of questions as a first time kitty mom lol, and they don’t make me feel rushed and take time to address all of my concerns. I feel like there is a lot of real love for animals at this vet! Highly recommend them for your fur baby!!

Unfortunately I had taken my baby here after she had difficulty breathing. I was stuck here all day and I wasn’t able to see her while she was in the O2 box. The vet had left early for some family thing. The workers had cleared my cat to come home after spending some time in the O2. My cat died the next morning. I can’t stop thinking about the fact that if the vet was there, he wouldn’t have let her go home because she was obviously sick. Still not over it that was my best friend EDIT: I was never advised to go the a 24 hour hospital as the owner stated. If I was told this, I wouldn't have wasted hours at the clinic when the doctor wasn't even present. The doctor diagnosed her with asthma without even doing any radiology. If she was critical patient (clearly showing signs over inability to breathe on her own) why didn't the doctor stay?

My Daisy girl was not feeling well on Saturday. We thought it was arthritis. We were able to make an app for Monday morning. Unfortunately Daisy got worse over the weekend. We brought her in for her appointment . The staff and the doctor were incredible. My daughter in law and my 3 sons were able to be with my fur baby while she was examined, The doctor was compassionate and kind when he told them there was nothing they could do. He did not recommend unnecessary tests or xrays and he did not give false hope. The staff assisted her and my family with her safely crossing the rainbow bridge. I chose this doctor because of the reviews, the others in the area had so many bad reviews, not just for the cost. For the treatment of their pets. I am forever grateful for the kindess that was shown to my family and most of all to my Daze Daze.

  • Alexandra T

Took my four-legged love here about two weeks ago for a first time visit, for regular annual vaccinations. I liked the fact that it was a short wait to be seen and that they didn't try to add unnecessary services! Prices were right. The only reason I was a bit disappointed about was that the vet gave my dog his vaccines IM (rear leg) versus SC (back of his neck) like he has had in the past and did not provide me with any heads up as far as side effects. Later that Sat night once at home my dog was not able to stand up on his own, like the back leg was numb. I freaked out cuz that has never happened before, called the office, left voicemail, knowing that they were closed on Sunday. Was hoping for a courtesy call back to check how my dog was doing at least on the following Monday, but sadly that never happened :(

This place is simply amazing. I know searching for a vet for the first time can be very stressful journey and after reaching out to a couple of places around the area and i decided to take my puppy in to this place. As a first time puppy mom, I was very thankful how patience the doctor and staff was. Didn’t feel rushed at all. They answered all my questions and concerns. They were very caring and honest throughout the entire process. Didn’t push for an unnecessary tests or examinations. Process was very solid. Big kudos to the manager Tenzen, she is simply an amazing human being. She was very kind and made sure everything was/is ok and even returned my call to explain the process in detail. Very caring and honest ❤️ I am happy to find the home-vet for life for my baby Mochi overall great experience!

  • Maria Piedrahita

I’m very grateful I found this veterinary care for my fur baby! She had her dental cleaning done and her eye skin tag removed here. The vets are great doctors, as well as the assistants. They listened to all my concerns and assure me that everything was going to go well. The receptionists are also very nice ladies. They made sure to clearly explain everything to me and answer all the questions that I had regarding the procedures. This is only the first day she had her dental cleaning and she’s happy/being herself. Thank you Dr. Botros & Dr. Shark for actually caring about our pets I will continue to take my pet here! Highly recommended it to all of you looking for veterinary care. Prices are also very affordable and I love that they take walks in for emergencies. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  • Paulette Arantxa Beteta

I wish I can rate this clinic more than 5 stars, Dr. Botros, the receptionist team, the medical assistant team are amazing beyond measure. We’ve been seeing Dr. Botros regularly and he never fails to listen to all of our concerns and treats our fur baby like his own. We found a baseball size mass in our pup’s chest, Dr.Botros right away gave us a game plan, ran X-rays and set us up for surgery the next day. He explained risks and alternative outcomes that no parent wants to hear but he made sure he was realistic with us all the way. He is patient, honest and caring. He was able to remove the entire mass and have our pup come back home with us the same day! I am grateful that this is our neighborhood vet clinic and the experiences we’ve had with them. Thank you KGAH!

  • Evelyn Ramos

Financial concern ? Hun I didn’t even get a price , and the check up was free so how was my concern the price ? Your attitude is DISGUSTING your sarcastic and apparently I’m not the only one writing a bad review you seem to not take ownership when your wrong just sit here lying lol Went here for my dog checkup and the doctor is terrible .. doesn’t explain anything nor tries to take the time, very sarcastic I tried to show a picture of my dog vomit because the doctor asked and he says “I asked a clear question what color is it” while I’m showing the pic to his face very rude and ignorant .. also my partner scratched his head and the doctor tells him “is that too hard to understand?” lol ridiculous definitely don’t recommend this place

  • Sara Ortega

Spanish receptionist is very rude and nasty. Was informed of a fee the day prior to me calling in for an emergency appointment. I was given a time for the next day so I assumed it was a booked appointment as anyone else would. The next day I arrived early to fill out paper work, not only was I told that it would be a $125 walk-in fee but the doctor would be coming in at 12:30 instead of 12. I was confused why it would be a walk in if I called the night prior. When I informed them that I had called a night prior to schedule and appointment and was notified a different fee the Spanish receptionist was very nasty. Will never come here nor did I decide to stay. Would much rather pay high fees to be seen in a more welcoming environment.

  • Thomas Koontz

This is the best vet clinic! Dr Shark is the best vet in NYC. The doctor is highly intelligent and is a true miracle worker. Every single visit. I had a terrible vet before so his bedside manner still shocks me because I’m not use to it. He knows I am nervous about my cat and he is highly empathic. If he gets too complicated he will slow down and explain it again without condescending me. Going to the vet with a cat is always traumatic but this clinic makes things as pleasant as possible. It is also a highly sanitary clinic. I went downstairs to retrieve my cat from his cage and the behind the scenes are just as clean as the front of the house. A vet practice in NYC must be stressful but this operation is a class act!

I have been bringing my girls here since June 2021 when one of them fell really sick. I was referred to Kew Gardens Animal Hospital by a good friend who is Trap Neuter and Return/Rescue Certified. I travel all the way from the Fordham section of the Bronx just to have Dr. Ramy Sharkawy see my girls. I am a very thorough pet mom and ask many questions. All in which he takes his time to answer and make clear. I am very satisfied with the service at Kew Gardens Animal Hospital down to the vet techs and receptionist. Prices are fair, wait time is fair, and the time spent with my girls never feels rushed. Dr. Ramy Sharkawy is very pleasant and most of all thorough. I am pleased to have him as Majesty and Majestica's vet!

  • Sunny Suero

This is the best vet you will ever go to, bar none. Dr. Sharkawy, Martha, Carla, and Anna, are basically family at this point. They've taken the most amazing care of our Central Asian Shepherd, Altai. He's still a puppy and has had a rough go of it health wise, and I've had a few teary nights, but KGAH has given me peace of mind and then some. They do not push costly treatments onto you, just what is necessary for the wellbeing of your baby. We also had to bring our pitbull in to get her nails clipped, and as unruly as she can be, they still were so kind to us. I can't imagine our lives without KGAH, I'm so grateful to them and the service and care they've given to us.

I had an emergency on Labor Day and my regular vet was closed. My 2 yo yorkiepoo was lethargic, had a bad odor in her mouth. Thought she may have been severely dehydrated or heat stroke. Called Kew Gardens Animal Hospital- they were open and said I could walk in. They saw my dog within 15 minutes and Dr Sharkawy was so gentle and loving with her. He quickly diagnosed she had food stuck in her mouth under her gum line and within 2 1/2 hours I had my dog back home (after a dentistry to remove the food) The staff was so professional and helpful and I would gladly use this office again! Thank you for helping Maddie feel better and thank you for putting my mind at ease!

  • Rukiya Harry

Kew Gardens is hands down the best animal hospital I have encountered. My puppy fractured her femur and Dr.Botros made it his mission to help get her back to her healthy happy self. He performed the surgery and kept me updated throughout the whole process. After the surgery, he called often to check up on my puppy and ensure she was recovering well. He thoroughly explained how the recovery process would go and made sure to answer any and every question I had. My puppy is able to walk and apply pressure to her leg with no issues. Dr. Botros and the staff at kew gardens hospital are wonderful and I couldn’t thank you guys enough for what you did for my puppy Kali

  • Helen Escorza-Tenecela

I took my golden for a visit here since I was recommended by a friend. We had Dr. Henin and he was absolutely amazing. Very understanding, a great listener and a caring doctor. My dog has been limping for quite some time now but due to my financial status I wasn’t able to bring him in. So I came in super worried thinking of what could be wrong with my boy So they did X-rays and a body examination. Let’s just say I was a bit nervous about pricing but it turned out to be wonderful. They are so affordable and understanding. I’m definitely changing my dogs vet and we are staying at Kew Gardens Animal Hospital! Thanks again for your help ❤️

  • mildred valdez

Kew Gardens Animal Hospital is the best. My shih tzu Oliver was in pain and couldn’t walk or eat and thanks to Dr. Sharkawy my baby is back to normal. Dr. Did everything the was in his hand to cure my dog and he did thanks to God. Doctor used to called to check on how my baby was doing. What can I say to the staff wow, the girls are wonderful they really care about your pets and they show love to them. Martha helped me so much she also kept calling me and checking on my doggy to see how he was doing. I give this office 5+ stars. Great service , easy to get an appt, the wait is not long, great staff and not expensive.

  • Cecelia Lee

I brought my rescued cat Reagan with an open bite wound to Dr Botros. The wound was so severely infected that it smelled like “death”. It was thought that the leg would need to be amputated due to its grievous state. However, Dr Botros performed an emergency procedure the same day and saved the leg. Cat Reagan is now walking and standing on this very same leg, still recovering but coming along nicely. Reagan’s life would have been a different one if Dr Botros wasn’t there to do what he did and as quickly as he did. I highly recommend this practice and Dr Botros! Thank you Dr Botros from the bottom of my heart!

  • Glenda Hewitt

All these vets in New York are only making money off of people who have dogs that love their dog so much they want 125 for emergency, but if you do not bring the dog in to any vet, not only this vet yet subject to neglect who gets the sick end of the stick the owner this got to stop but don’t worry to every vet I call today and I hear that they are under a low cost vet and trying to blame Google for it. I’m putting you on blast. I am so upset with you. Yeah I don’t care about animals yucky about your pockets and that big house and a nice car that I live in in the American dream, right”!

  • Valentine Melendez

This is my default vet, I love the staff here. Everyone is so friendly, receptive to being asked questions and really listen to your concerns. All treatment and vaccines are explained and also detailed in the receipts. The pricing is fair to me, but definitely expect to spend a fair bit for your first visit if you're bringing a new pup. Of course I do need to make sure others are aware that there is no parking lot for this vet, so make sure to go a bit of time ahead of your appointment to look for parking. Worth finding some though because there's an awesome pet store right next to it.

  • Annie Chau

We brought out 2 cats, Chestnut and Cashew for their first check up after we adopted them. Chestnut had a murmur and required a follow up echo. The office staff were able to efficiently coordinate the appointments for us and they were also extremely communicative. Dr. Shark was very knowledgeable and took the time to answer all of our questions. I really appreciate the time and effort everyone took to make sure we had a positive experience as new pet owners. I highly recommend Kew Gardens Animal Hospital to all pet owners and look forward to coming back for future appointments.

My cat had accident with deep cut on her tail when I heard about it I rushed home by the time I got home from work it was around 4pm. I rushed my cat to see the vet they took me with no questions wait time wasn’t long maybe few minutes. My cat was given care right away. Doctors were very professional and on point with care. Honestly speaking I have no words to describe how Thankful I am, they are about the care not about over charging as other vets I’ve been in the past. I surely recommend this place to anyone who’s looking for good care for their loved ones.

  • Christina

I love this vet! Dr. Shark is kind, thorough and treats my kitties like his own. My Salem was there because she wasn't feeling well. They did all the diagnostic tests without any problems at all. Usually Salem is a very bad cat at the vet (she can't go to most vets unless she is sedated with Gabepentin...she has gotten on the banned list for biting.) Dr. Shark and Marta the tech have the magic touch though. Salem doesn't get stressed out at all here. They got her eating and feeling good again within a few days. Love this vet! They are highly reccommended!

I would like to thank Kew Gardens Animal Hospital for their outstanding work and exceptional care for pets. Not only do they provide top-notch medical care but also show genuine love towards every animal that enters their door. My experience with them has always been incredibly positive, and they exceeded my expectations with every visit. The staff is super-friendly, knowledgeable, and takes ample time to ensure that my pet is comfortable and happy. I strongly recommend Kew Gardens Animal Hospital to anyone looking for excellent pet care services.

  • Cynthia Quezada

I love this place. Always friendly. They would answer questions and allay my fears with my dog. The techs now a lot. I had to leave my other Vet because I couldn't get an appointment sometimes more than a month (also neutering was way more expensive). This place always has appointments available depending on what you need and when. The doctor is nice. This place is super affordable. My other vet was way more expensive. Love this place, they are my new go-to for my needs. Thank you for being so friendly and welcoming!

  • samantha pellot

I had such a pleasant experience at the vet. There was a minimal wait time to see the doctor. The assistant was so sweet and gentle with my dog who had an eye infection. The doctor told me what he would do before doing it and made my dog feel safe. The vet isn’t his favorite place but he was behaved. I was expecting a hefty bill for an exam and 2 medications. However, I was shocked to pay less than what I thought. Also, they scheduled a follow up appointment promptly. I appreciated their care and pleasant demeanor.

  • Nicole NOTIZIE e AMICI

this is the place to go to have a great care and a sweet loving care for your pet/ pets. amazing doctors and assistants, plus there are 2 adorable cats roaming around the vat office, and they are the BEST greeters anyone can dream of. no problems with dogs nor other cats. i wish all my doctors and dentists would have couple of pets greeting me... it is so relaxing and cheering! i am so happy i have found this vet ! my cats are too. i wish them tons of business and to keep being so ethical and prepared. thank you!

  • Mina George

I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Doctor Shark for his wonderful care towards the pets. He is not only attentive and patient towards the cats and dogs, but he also strives to do his utmost best in ensuring their health and well-being. His passion and dedication towards animal care are evident in each consultation. He has always been available in times of need, and his compassionate nature is truly admirable. Thank you, Dr. Shark, for all your hard work and dedication. You are truly one of a kind!

  • sherzod rustamov

Never bring your pets to this hospital for anything, if you do not have insurance, then in full program you will begin to withdraw money non-stop, and the service cost us more than $ 2,400. Our pet died anyway, and with all the treatment, we observed a situation in which they tried to dissolve us more and more for money, they said that everything will be fine everything will be fine, then everything will be bad everything is bad In general, take care of your wallets because there are pure scammers.

  • Megan

I only chose the best for my cat and this was the one I trust for my baby’s medical treatments at reasonable prices. Dr. Shark was with us all the way to the end with caring and professionalism. The nurse manager Tenzin and nurse Stephanie were also the most compassionate animal-lovers. All other doctors, nurses as well as the front desk personnels made me feel that they truly care about pet like a human. Very grateful to have this outstanding veterinarian facility for my fur baby!

  • M V

I can give them five stars because they really are professional and caring . Vet & Nurses are great. Was my first time, but unfortunately Im so disappointed in regards to the prescription (Med) cost; specifically when you don't have insurance. Some of the medications were charged double price or more. For example: Anti Diarrhea Gel usually cost $20 I was charged $55 just like other meds. I love my baby his health is what's matters, but they should consider and give people options.

  • Gennessy Palma

I LOVED THE STAFF!! Oh my god, everyone was soooo nice and friendly and quick to respond to my questions, I felt comfortable with everyone at first sight, I honestly recommend everyone and anyone to come bring their pets over to this clinic because honestly the doctors are so sweet and the nurses and staff are also very kind, they made my first experience here with my cat very soothing, it wasn’t scary for my cat at all ❤️ Thank you everyone for making my first visit pet friendly!

  • Lorraine Hernandez

We are so pleased with the excellent care we recieved for our 1 month rescue kitten. Our little leo was barely alive when we brought him in. He had a horrible infection in his eyes, barely breathing and had pneumonia. Thanks to the wonderful staff our baby made it through and is now a thriving energetic 6 month kitten. It's a comfort to know we have this wonderful place to bring our fur babies to when they require veterinary care. We highly recommend Kew Gardens Animal Hospital

  • Noya Shir

I went with my baby cat last night, Dr. Shark and the girls at the front desk were great, my kitten got the best treatment! I was very worried about him and Dr. Shark and the rest of the staff were taking the time to help my little baby, it was already past 8pm when they were suppose to close the place and go home, they actually dedicated their time and energy for my baby. Thank you guys, it was our first time with you, and if it’s needed we will definitely come back!

  • Barbara “Barbie” Agostini

This place was fabulous! They were so kind and caring to our cat. They knew what they were doing and did everything to help! The next morning they actually called me to check up to see how my cat was doing. They didnt overcharge and didnt charge us for things we did not need. Both the vets and vet techs were very knowledgeable and made my family feel comfortable that we were bringing our kitty to the right place! Will definitely reccomend and will continue to go here!!

  • Jennifer Wu

Everything you’d want for the care of your pet! I’ve been bringing my epileptic border terrier here for almost a year now. Dr. Shark and Dr. Bottros have always taken great care of him with patience and professionalism. Special thanks to Tenzin and the girls in the front for always being so helpful and kind even though they’re so busy. It’s nice to know that when it comes to the care of your pet, you can always count on this team. Thank you for your 5 star practice!

  • Edisson

This place is more cozy and intimate. My cats are visiting this place and so far they have been treated nicely. Surprisingly when they got their vacations the staff knew how to handle them properly and with care so they don't get scratch but also holding them still. The doctors here make sure you understand what they are doing and what vacation is for before anything. Well I like to know what is happening and what everything is for, I appreciate this from them.

  • J Blake331

Great and welcoming office. The main Doctor was not the most forth coming about the initial severity of my cat's fatal condition which feels like an effort to extract funds from me while I am in a vulnerable state of mind. The cat's health continues to decline post-operation as expected with the fatal condition and I have to put her to rest. As sad as that is, I wish I had been informed so that my cat would not leave this world with additional suffering.

  • Liliana Romero

All I can say is the best Vet in the zone, Doctor Ramy is really knowledgeable and kind, their staff specifically Jacquelyn help us out with our kitty that we find out has Parvo :(. She help us understand everything. So far the best experience with our Kitty, the rest of the staff are pretty friendly as well. I recommend this place 100% as they listen to you and they make you feel like they know your pet for long time. Don’t hesitate to bring your pet.

  • Johana Toro

Kew Gardens Animal Clinic is the best (5 stars), they are very professional, reliable, friendly and helpful! Thanking Doctor Shark and Marta for saving my frenchie that was doing really bad. Thank you for putting life into her again !!! Also thanking the staff for always being so accommodating. If your looking for a Vet this is the place to go without a doubt you won't be disappointed. Myla my frencie thanks Dr. Shark and Marta for everything!!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  • diana spangenberg

Dr. Shark, Dr. Botros and their staff are the most dedicated, competent and reliable group of professionals. Specifically, Dr. Shark and Dr. Botros are very courteous, dedicated and knowledgeable in their field of veterinary science. Their love for animals and their concerns is apparent in their interactions with them. As a family we are very happy and satisfied with these professionals we strongly recommend the care of your pets, to them.

  • Cassandra M. (Cassandra)

Prices are decent but the vet leaves something to be desired. I had a friendly feral cat who showed no aggression and acted scared to touch him even though staff was holding him firmly. He never check his teeth as I asked and tried to talk me out of getting him neutered because he is FIV +, saying he only has 4-5 years. He seemed caring but wouldn't bring my own cats to him personally. Staff at desk and in room was excellent.

  • Travis W

The receptionists are great but I am not very happy with their doctors. Although their attitudes are friendly, they seem to have two on staff but they do not handle each other's patients so I had to go 3 days without hearing from anyone. Both of the check-ups were done hastily, as they're more motivated to have you run tests. Eyes, nose, ears, mouth were not checked. It was basically a weigh-in and a temperature test.

  • Alexandra G

Appreciate the flexibility of appointments and making room to be seen the same-day when illness is urgent. The staff is very nice and helpful in explaining procedures, medications, and pricing. The dr and vet tech were gentle and caring to my little girl. They don’t rush you out and take their time which is great. Hoping the treatments given will help my girl get better soon. Thanks KG Animal Hospital and Dr. Henin.

  • Jennifer Gatita

Kew Gardens Such an Amazing hospital. Dr. Shark is great, very knowledgeable and really cares about our dogs. His nurse Shawn is amazing and very caring. They take great care of my yorkie Princess (and I don’t mind driving an 1 hour and a half to get there ) they are worth it. My baby Princess needs the best care and Dr. Shark and kew Gardens hospital employees in general are the best!!!!! 100% recommended!!!!!

  • Stephanie Rosenberg

Staff is nice and Dr. Seems nice but office is totally unorganized. Came in for an emergency visit and it took 3 hours and only one other pet in the office. Came back for a follow up and sat for almost 90 minutes. No one seems to know what they are doing. No communication about the delay and finally just gave up. Will go back to my usual place. I have heard a lot of complaints from friends. Will never go back.

  • Harley Quinn

I loved and vouched for this vet the past 4 years I've been going. They were kind, thorough, understanding, and didn't try to nickel & dime you. Recently however, we had a problem and it seems they're the opposite. I've attached a thorough & detailed review as Google will not allow it to be posted due to character length. Long story short, they've cut corners now and aren't as transparent as they use to be.

  • Lynch Nguyen

After going to another vet that didn’t seem that experienced,we took our dog to dr. Shark to get her surgery.he was very professional and he tried his best to save our old dog.but the best experience was how warm, sweet and compassionate Martha was with everything.she was a really kind and sympathetic person with everything and I would recommend anyone who has an issue with their pet in the hands of her.

  • Jenna McMillan

I loved our experience here with our two cats! They got us in very quickly and what I loved is they listened to our concerns and we didn’t feel rushed. They also handled them with care and the assistant to the vet was petting them with love to make sure they felt calm. The prices were more reasonable than what we experienced in uptown manhattan when we lived there. Overall, very happy we found them!

  • Kate Polinsky

Excellent experience starting with the woman at the front desk. The staff was friendly and knowledgable and were able to accommodate a walk in visit for my pet and I. My cat felt comfortable with Dr. Shark & assistant. The assistant was an excellent teacher and showed me how to apply the medicine my cat needed quickly and easily. We will certainly be returning in the future. Thanks again! :)

  • Cathy Facciola

Both doctors and staff are amazing. Vets were compassionate, knowledgeable, and spent a generous amount of time with me and my cat. Overall very thorough, and I felt there was very good communication with both vets. I can see how much they care about animals. I have been having problems with both of my cats in the same week, and I felt they were in good hands. I def would recommend.

  • stephanie paniagua

Thank you for saving Thor, my family and I couldn’t be anymore thankful! ****** I recommend this place to anyone. It’s a hidden gem in Queens. They also take emergencies! Emergency fee was only 95$. They don’t do anything you don’t approve financially and are very transparent and knowledgeable. My pup was hanging on by a thread and he is now at home recovering thanks to them.

  • N Buckley

I’ve had a great experience here. They definitely care about the animals. We dealt with Dr. Shark and I will never bring any animal to another vet for as long as I live here. He’s smart, kind, and genuinely cares about your pet. He isn’t there to frivolously make money, he wants to make sure your best friend is okay. Appointments are quick too. Payment is fair. Go here!

  • Gennie P

This Place is AMAZING!! my first time there and I felt like FAMILY .. My babies were over the top EXCITED my little boy Didn't want to LEAVE hahaha And my little girl was shocked to see a cat up close . And in her BAG haha... Looking forward to my follow up so glad to know we have a nice new Vet and staff to call Family . Thank you Kew Gardens Animal Hospital ...

I am very thankful we found this place. The staff and doctors are very compassionate, straight to the point and affectionate to our furbaby. They handled her with utmost care. They knew right away what to do and explained what’s going to happen without having to go through any tests that could have stressed our dog a lot. Thank you very much, everyone.

Today was my first time going to Kew Gardens Animal Hospital and I had such a great experience! Unfortunately, I had to visit here because my dog was sick; However I was able to be seen within 48 hours. The staff was extremely friend and the wait time was minimal. Their prices are extremely affordable. I would highly recommend this animal hospital.

I couldn't be more grateful to Dr. Henin and the staff at Kew Gardens Animal Hospital. I came to bring my dear Bruno after a devastating diagnosis. I came to them for a second opinion, they were very accommodating and professional. Perform an emergency surgery that saved my dear pet's life. The way they care for their patients is remarkable.

I had a great experience coming in with a sick, diabetic cat that needed emergency teeth extractions. They took care of him right away - everyone in the office was very kind, and the doctor was very caring and thorough in examining him, and in explaining everything needed. My cat is healing up quickly - I'm very happy I choose to come here!

THE BIGGEST SCAM ARTIST IN THE GAME. MY DOG HAD A MINOR INFECTION AND I CAME OUT PAYING ALMOST $600. FOR ANY LITTLE THING THEY DO THEY BANG YOU UP WITH A HEAVY FEE. FOR EXAMPLE TO CLEAN THE DOGS EAR THEY CHARGED ME $50 AND I NEVER TOLD THEM TO DO THAT. THEY DID WHAT THEY WANTED AND ROCKED MY POCKET. I AM STAYING AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!!!!

My own vet didn't have time for my very sick kitty, only 2 weeks later!!!. Kew Gardens took her the next day, didn't charge for the service, just meds. I found all the staff to be sensitive to kitty',s needs and mine. The doctor, Shark I believe, is young and refreshingly bright and aware.. Get there early because parking is difficult.

The staff is amazing here! Their prices are very fair, the staff really seem to care and take an interest in what’s going on. The Doctors take their time answering questions and never makes you feel rushed. I am so glad my pets (my babies) have a great vet and staff we can rely on.Thank you Dr. Batros, Dr. Shark and staff.

This place is Amazing I went there with my cat Chance and within 5 min the doctor already knew what his ailment was and how to treat it. Everyone from the desk, to the nurse, to the doctor were so very kind and answered all my questions. You can tell everyone cared. Will definitely be making this my vet of choice ❤️ …

I can't thank everyone enough the staff at kew gardens , my elderly cat had to be put to sleep, dr botros who did it was so gentle and kind that this painful experience made it a bit more bearable. They listened to my concerns all the way, made my kitty feel more comfortable. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

  • holliday sauce

worst experience ever. Do not come on saturdays they will have you waiting for 2+ hours in the waiting room and an hour in the exam room waiting for the doctor. the doctor was quick just a few seconds of a check up that costed me around $65 a “sick fee” all these people care about is money and wasting your time.

Dr Sharkaway always takes great care of my animals. He understands the challenges and realities of the clients and it reflects on the wonderful treatment and kindness he shows to my furry family members. I have strongly recommended Dr Sharkaway to many people and will continue to do so. He is wonderful!

Affordable vet who cares about your pet. I had taken my dog twice here thinking I will leave with a drained wallet and it was not the case. The doctor will actually try to figure out what’s wrong with your pet instead of doing the most expensive treatment and unnecessary diagnostics. Friendly staff.

We are so lucky to have this vet near home. They were friendly, warm and professional. We took out cat because she was not feeling well, came back home and she is not yet 100% but already looking better. They did their best on our budget and were very understanding, I'm so grateful for they job.

  • Manisha Jagdeo

One of the best hospitals for pets I would recommend this place to anyone the doctors are great and they are very helpful. All of the staff are great and very friendly. Thanks for the great job to the doctors and I appreciate all the good works everyone is doing over there. Keep it up

My experience at Kew Gardens Animal Hospital today was a great experience. I took my 13 year old cat who has not seen a vet in 12 years. Needless to say I was a mental wreck. The Doctor and the entire support staff calmed us all and answered every question I had. I am very grateful.

This place is incredible. They have the most amazing staff; so friendly, kind-hearted and compassionate with a genuine care and concern for your furry friend. Super affordable prices too! I cannot say enough good things about Kew Gardens Animal Hospital. So happy we found them ♥️

We took our dog here, my daughter is friends with the owner's son and they are a great family. Took care of our puppy and helped us with everything. So kind, understanding, and a homey place. Truly recommend— We will be coming again incase of anything with our furry friends.

  • Susana Jaramillo

The staff was very helpful. I have been dealing with horrible vets that don't care for the safety of my pet. The vets at Kew Gardens Animal Hospital couldn't be more carrying and attentive with our pets. They do a great job! Plus, the cats on the waiting room are gorgeous!!!

  • rose 111

Our dog passed away suddenly a few weeks ago and we brought her here the morning of. The receptionist/assistant- I think her name was Jessica- was extremely sweet and kind throughout the entire process. She made an extremely sad situation a bit easier to handle that day.

  • Liana Fernandez

Overall the staff is great, kind and care. Doctors went over and beyond to try to save my dying dog. While he passed anyway they made one of the most devastating moments in my life an ounce easier. Only negative is the wait time. Carve out several hrs for your visit.

  • Sherry Fanous

I want to thank Dr. Botros because he saved my dog's life. I recommend this clinic for everyone. These are the best veterinarians I've seen. He helped my dog when it was very sick like it was nothing! Go to this clinic, and you'll be surprised how good the place is.

  • Mark Sedrak

Well.. a lot of positive points to talk about this hospital. So I would short all of em to be Amazing doctors and the team is fully of professionalism and understanding for real. By the way I adopted my first pet when was born at Kew Gardens animal hospital

  • Chile V Rises

The wait time is aburd but it's worth it as you always get the care our lil critters deserve and more. There are definitely other pet owners who need lessons on personal spacr and on how to control rowdy dogs, but the clinic is not at fault ‍‍⬛ …
