I have used the kiosks to copy keys many times, and have always found the process easy, straightforward, and relatively fast compared to other options. I really appreciate that if you sign up for a KeyMe account with your email, you can save 'virtual copies' of your keys which you can view on the app or after logging in at a kiosk. More importantly, you can make copies of your saved keys from any kiosk, which is really handy if, for example, you lose your keys and end up locked out of your apartment. Definitely beats calling a locksmith. The downside of KeyMe is price. Even if you take advantage of the "buy 2 copies, get a third free" deal (that seems to always be available) you'll still end up paying $6-7 per key for 3 keys. That said, I personally find the extra cost well worth it for the following reasons: 1) convenience of the many locations 2) speed of making copies 3) no having to wait in line or deal with employees 4) ability to save virtual copies of my keys to my account in case I lose them. If, however, price alone is the most important factor to you, then you're probably better off going to a hardware store

This service is very convenient, but next time I’ll go to a proper key maker. At the end of my order I was offered an extra $2 “finishing” service for the key. I didn’t know what that was so I declined. When I got my key it had not been deburred, which is what the finishing service must have been. Deburring is a necessary part of any metal processing, not an “extra”, and skipping it can be dangerous because of the sharp edges. At least attach a file to the machine.

I made a duplicate fob key and a regular key that was a large one. I was afraid it wouldn't copy due to the size but I just tested both the fob key and the duplicate key from the key me kiosk and they both worked perfectly! Just want to say how happy I am with the service and the price and the quickness of making the keys! Love your service thank you thank you so much! Xoxo Mona

Good and fast, my only complaint is that the green key I got was already scratched up a little so some green was coming off. Also the first kiosk I went to said my key was rare and they'd have to ship it, which was not true, as I went to another kiosk and that one worked fine.

Hit and miss. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t and sometimes it’s sticky. Overall, it’s fine I guess since it’s conveniently located at the store as a kiosk. Note that they do not give you the full 100% refund if a key doesn’t work (I think we eat the tax).

The first time I used one of their kiosks the keys worked fine. I just moved and used a kiosk again to get copies of my new keys cut. None of them work!! The kiosk said the keys are guaranteed, but I can't find anything on their website

I ordered 5 keys and none worked, which really sucked. The keys were copied in reverse on the bottom groove, which made them completely unusable. Be careful and run one copy first to make sure the machine works properly. Waste of $45.

  • Gwen Inman

I went here and got 3 keys. None of them were matches for the keys I scanned and were completely useless. They also cost $11 which feels very expensive. Ay least the third one was free so I was only out $22 instead of $33 I guess.

Copy of keys was made very fast! The only thing I would complained about is the expensive price. It cost $9.75 for 1 copy of brass keys. I could have paid $2 to $5 at a Hardware store or at any other stores.

  • Ryan DeBolt

Fast and convenient service when I was locked out of my apartment, however, wouldn’t provide a quote for the expected service over the phone as their website seems to promise.

  • The Astro Philosopher

Very convenient with lots of designs to choose from. Just know that if you pick something outside the basic designs it will have to be shipped to you. Enjoy!!

Keys didn’t work at all, but they refunded me quickly. Don’t rely on it in an emergency, go to a locksmith. but could work for most standard keys.

  • Heidi McLaughlin

It was easy! I was able to get copies of my house key after hardware stores were all closed. The keys work perfectly.

I'm enamored with this machine, it worked perfectly to copy to different keys(door and gate), super convenient!

The machine is in the convenience store. Worked for me and the store owner is nice.

Not open 24 hours. Attached to a hole in the wall store that’s stays closed.
