  • "Oh, boy! Korocha Tavern is a wonderful little bar/restaurant in Wallingford that my partner and I finally discovered! We decided to give it a try, and were we in for a treat! First, the cold borscht was so refreshing for the summer - a perfect choice! The pickled cabbage and cucumbers added a nice crunchy and acidic texture and taste to the mouthwatering Vareneki, and the Russian sour cream was simply delicious! Can you imagine Russian dumplings without it? We also tried the chicken piroshky, and it was a tasty delight! But let me tell you about the star of the show - the Lenin Drop cocktail! It had beet-infused vodka, fresh lemon juice, and simple syrup, and holy cow, it’s easily the best drink I’ve had this year! Also, let’s not forget about the super nice bartender with those sweet bangs and hair - a true bonus to the already fantastic experience! Super friendly and welcoming! Last but not least, the honey cake was out-of-this-world good! I’ve been to other Russian restaurants in Washington, but Korocha Tavern takes the cake (literally!) for the best honey cake! If you’re up for a delicious and fun time, make sure to visit Korocha Tavern"

Korochka Tavern is an excellent place to get some Russian food. I have been interested in visiting for years and when they left Lake City, I was pretty disappointed, but was happy to hear they got a space in Wallingford. I finally visited on a Saturday afternoon after ordering online and enjoyed the dark interior of the bar with the wooden booths and wallpaper. My food was a to-go order of a borsch, piroshki, and large portion of pelmeni. Everything was excellent. Having grown up with all of those dishes, I’m always interested to see all the different variations of flavors. The borsch had a great red hue and lots of shredded cabbage and carrots. It was nice to have hot or cold as well. The piroshki had an excellent ground beef filling and the bun was nice and fluffy which is more like a Chinese style bun which was a nice variation. Finally, the pelmeni was amazing. The meat filling was not too heavy and didn’t have the meaty aftertaste that so many pelmeni have. Korochka definitely has some of the best pelmeni in the city. I plan to return soon and recommend everyone to try them out!

First time patron picking up some dinner and I had the most pleasant conversation with the bartender while my order was being finished. She took the time to answer my questions then went above and beyond by suggesting a shop to take my visiting Russian friends to. The dumplings I ordered barely made it home, lol, I kept smelling dill in the car, when I opened the box, and seeing super fresh dill on these gorgeous dumplings was very satisfying. Both dumplings and pirozhki were spectacular, I've never had them before, but I can see them as a new favorite. However, the willing friendliness of the staff, makes it easy to imagine spending more time there. Thank you so much!

Amazingly cute litte Eastern European bar with tasty drinks the bartender was insanely friendly and fun, the vibe was cozy and welcoming. They had Kvas (a non-alcoholic drink popular in Ukraine and Russia) which was delicious, and the Vegan vareniki (which I ordered with extra dill) were absolutely amazing, I ended up with getting a second order. They reminded me of childhood. If you're looking for a place with authentic Russian/Ukraine flavors and creative cocktails, definitely check this place out.

I love this gem in Wallingford. The beet cocktail is the best drink I’ve had in Seattle. The dumplings are addictively good and the honey cake is lovely (and not too sweet). The vibes are great for catching up with a friend or reading a book solo at the bar. I can’t recommend it enough. It is small, so I typically go on weekdays when it’s slightly less busy.

After a couple of drinks in Belltown a block from home, I ubered to Karochka Tavern in Wallingford, craving vodka and dumplings. Karochka Tavern always delivers. The good cheer, horseradish vodka, and amazing food forces me to wiggle my toes with pleasure. If Karochka Tavern was in Belltown, my perspiration at the gym would get fill the space with the aroma of horseradish, vodka, and pierogi. That’s better than Right Guard! Karochka Tavern is one of the best bars in Seattle.

This place is so cute, had the prettiest wallpaper and it was dark and cozy. We had the pickles and dumplings, which were amazing (dumplings actually come with vinegar and sour cream, pickle platter was a dream), tried a couple different drinks (beet vodka?!) and ended with honey cake. Loved the small touches like the vintage glassware!

Came here with my husband for our anniversary dinner and am leaving stuffed full of dumplings and excellent beer. Everything was fantastic. The dumplings were well filled (we had both the meat and potato cheese) with perfect wrappers. The house made adjika was a particular highlight. We'll definitely be back.

If you like high quality drinks and an expert bartender and some chefs kiss beet soup, come on down to Korochka Tavern. They have seating out front and street parking close by, so you can do take out or sit down and it’s worth it. I would eat their borscht in torrential rain, I would eat it in 9/10 pain, it’s that good. I didn’t try anything else food wise, but I will next time. Also, take Kendalls advice on drinks, and you can’t go wrong.

Our visit to Korochka Tavern was fun. It was a Friday eve around 6pm and the place was busy. We were able to get a seat and ordered some inspired cocktails that were enjoyable. Then we tried some of their tapas: a piroshky filled with feta and spinach, and their signature pickle plate. Both were delicious! Everyone was friendly and there's even a Tetris arcade machine to play. I highly recommend visiting for a great night in Lake City!

The dumpling are divine as is the soup and drinks. I love the beet vodka but be aware it does taste strongly of beets. A delightful plus though for those who love vodka and beets, now you can have an earthy cocktail for the tasting. Cozy vintage vibes with soft enough lightening to make anyone look good. The only thing more welcoming then the hearty food was our wonderful server Lisa. 2 outdoor tables as well as indoor seating.

Absolutely delicious food!! A bit Spartan for a dining environment, but the quality of the food is Worth it. Best horseradish vodka I have ever had! Interesting beer selection. Half sour pickles! The Lenin Drop is a fantastic cocktail.Very cool music playlist. Brouwers was the only place I have to go every time I am in Seattle, but now I will be here every time as well

the atmosphere was great. it's a small, quiet, hole-in-the-wall place with booths and a bar. the drinks are good - about what you'd expect and well done - and the food was ok. the piroshki was a little bland but otherwise grood, and the dumplings were good, but seemed more Chinese or Korean than Polish (which is fine but not what we expected).

  • Katherine DeMonnin

The cocktails are interesting and variable with the seasonal drinks. It's a very simple, stripped down asethetic with a calming atmosphere and interesting music. If been able to read alone here and also have a great conversation with the bar tender

The food and drinks were pretty good, but there are no physical menus whatsoever in the store, and the menu is not physically listed anywhere on the walls or by the bar. It is an accessibility issue to have to use a phone to order off of their menu. Hope this gets fixed quickly.

Stopped in for a beer at their new location for the first time with my girlfriend yesterday afternoon(it was a favorite of hers when they were down the street from her work in Lake City). Great atmosphere and Lisa is very nice- didn't get a chance to try out their cocktails or food, but will definitely be back to do so.

The beet vodka is a must try! We had the restaurant week menu which comes with a set of pickled veggies, bread, dumplings and dessert. The pickles are refreshing - liked the beets and carrots. The dumplings are acquired taste. The honey cake was simply too sweet.

some of the best dumplings you've have in Seattle, along with top tier pickles. the honey cake here is to die for, and I would eat it every day if I could. A little pricy but it's normal for Seattle so nothing to complain about there. Location is very welcoming and good vibes all around.

Came here with friends recently and had an absolutely delightful experience. Service is friendly, the borscht is quite delicious and their horseradish vodka (hrenovuha) would make me a regular customer if I still lived in Seattle.
