Well I been going to this particular location for many years & it's always been a little on the hood side, The lot is always filled with trash, Same with any trash cans that happen to be outside, The cans are overflowing with garbage to the point that I'm guessing the people just say to themselves What's the point? And just tosses it on the ground, And don't get me started on the dumpsters in the back of the building!! Been that way for years, For as long as I been coming here so it's not a new occurrence, I believe the reason is because of poor management & leadership & a bad habit of hiring the Trashiest, Laziest, Ghetto garbage that the east side has to offer, (RACE plays no part BTW) But In the companies defense they can't discriminate on people because they think they look to be hood trash or ghetto garbage. So what do you do when you realize that the store managers are trashy, The front end managers are trashy, The deli managers are trashy, The hiring manager is trashy? Well pretty much all the managers are lazy, Do as little as possible while gaining as much as possible in hours worked, Creating a pretty hefty payday for doing practically nothing, So what do you do then? So then considering that all the leadership is one big happy family of misguided lazy ghetto trash then what do you think the type of employees on the lower level of the totem pole are going to be like? So basically when you have a store the size of Kroger's being operated & staffed by some of the worst east side hood trash around then this is the type of business you will have. So I'm really not sure if they have replaced them yet but they had a max of 45 carts from what I recall & only about 13 of them actually still work for customers to use for shopping, The rest are all piled at the end of the walkway in front of the building to the right of the entrance, In an area that I like to call the "Grocery Cart Graveyard" Many of them are locked up, Wheel's are missing, Some have been hit by cars & the baskets are warped cracked or broken, Some have wheels that barely move while your pushing them and the bolts or small rods that hold them on are rusted creating a very loud sound, Usually squeaking, rattling, rubbing or clicking & those are the few that actually work a little bit, But then as soon as you check out & get to the front door where you go out, Right there is a security scanner that locks the Wheel's up so you can't steal the cart or merchandise, So it automatically locks up the wheels on random carts. Then there's the inside store issues, After walking around the entire store making sure whatever they have available or is something you like or have enjoyed eating has been placed in your cart, So you head for the register but before you can even get to one you get about to the first cross section & you are stopped & are forced to step into a line & wait your turn because there are not enough registers open at any given time & it don't matter what time of day or night it is or how many employees there are on the clock they refuse to open another register to relieve some of the frustration & pressure that only having a couple of registers open is putting on employees & customers, So I complained to a cashier a few weeks ago & was told that they are having a corporate meeting the following Monday to discuss how to solve the issues this store is having, She even said that the news has even did a piece on it on the evening news break, So when the news gets involved you know something will get done, But that was a few months ago & I go there often & it's still got all the same issues it's had for quite awhile. And if you have to use the restroom & you go in to this one the first thing that slaps you in the face is the overly intense smell of urine feces & garbage, The stall doors need repaired & there is never any TP in either stalls, Graffiti written on the walls, Sink is filthy along with the mirror, Toilets could use a scrubbing, And some employees have attitudes that needs adjusted, Other than that this store is just great.

Don't bother wasting your time or money here as this was one of the worst shopping experiences I have ever had! It might even be the worst! Accessibility is abysmal here. There are only two mobility carts that I've ever seen so if I want to shop, I have to hope one's available or wait. There is only one entrance which makes both coming and going a veritable chore as there are frequent traffic jams. The mobility carts are by the exit for some reason making things that much worse if you're disabled. Then the store layout is the worst I've seen in a very long time. The produce section is difficult to navigate even during slower hours due to the small boxes holding produce being in L shaped angles. It is difficult to navigate whether on foot or in a mobility cart. I got stuck a time or two and had to have help navigating my way out without hitting anyone or anything. The aisles are too narrow. You can't even get two carts side by side unless they're both almost flush to the shelves. Trying to shop with my husband has been a headache and a half. God forbid I had to turn around! I ran into more shelves than I ever have including when I first used mobility carts and wasn't used to operating them. I turned into one aisle and almost ran into a large beam that was also blocking product for some reason. Add other shoppers into this mix and you can understand how a short trip turns into shopping hell. On top of this, there are rows and rows of all kinds of regular sodas but almost no diet? Which is weird for such a big store because the Kroger I used to go to was less than half the size of this one and had pretty equal selection. I understand diet aren't as popular but my husband and I have diabetic family members. It would be easy to say "well just don't drink soda then" which is unfair. Why should we have to go without a nice treat when other people get access? Pretty unfair treatment really. The staff are fine and I almost rated this two stars because of the staff. But then I thought and realized how woefully understaffed the place was and couldnt forgive that. Why was there one person in the bakery? There should have been three or four. There was nobody I could see at the deli which means that the only employee(s) were spread far too thin for the department. Not to mention, I saw nobody stocking and there were maybe three cashiers. There was nobody in the break room above us. No wonder the layout is inaccessible garbage! The store manager doesn't have enough staff to cover all the jobs! How are a handful of people expected to run a store? Much less a store of that size! It is such a reprehensible way to treat not just customers but also employees! And the thing is that Kroger can ABSOLUTELY afford more employees! They're a large, highly profitable organization! But they're so focused on cutting corners to make a buck that one employee is doing the work of three or more people. That is no way to treat people or to run a business and I'm appalled, especially considering I've been to other, smaller stores with *more* staff. So whether this particular store is under poor management or corporate is taking a poor turn overall, I'm done. Low prices aren't worth such a poor experience. I'm switching to a different store and if things are just as bad there, I'm done with Kroger completely. I can't abide such blatant disregard for both customers and employees.

You’re better off going to Whole Foods or Needlers. I do not buy dairy or produce here. This store sends the message that Kroger executives do not care about consumers and they do not care about the hourly employees. This Kroger is the only grocery store in the area. Yet they are not able to keep enough staff to keep the store clean (numerous RECENT health department fines/citations - search Google for news coverage), keep the customer service desk open regular hours, or to have enough cashiers working to prevent long lines. The underpayment of and lack of employees cause gross, unsanitary conditions. Spills with free standing displays pulled in front of them instead of a wet floor sign or being mopped up. Ice cream melting on shelves in the cereal isle. The fact that the salary executives are okay with the state of this store makes me uncomfortable with spending my money there. They have a geographic monopoly, yet have no interest in the wellbeing of our community. I know it sounds dramatic but it’s really just pathetic that Kroger, one of the nation’s largest companies, doesn’t pay its employees enough to retain good workers. And the employees who have been there for a while are visibly overworked and/or unhappy. They don’t even sell Boar’s Head deli meats anymore. Maybe the result of the health inspection issues?? That is a main thing I like to eat… so now I go elsewhere for it and most of my other groceries. The most recent time I was there, the police man (one is stationed at the front door at least every evening, maybe during the day too… not a bad thing, but I do feel bad for them that they have to spend their time at Kroger) on duty was helping people who needed assistance with the self checkout because the self checkout attendant had to go help someone with something in the regular checkout line. It was absurd. The time before that the entire stock of 1% milk was at least 1 day expired. (Photo taken 10/23) Southern Plaza store hardly better morale-wise.

A bit late on my review but about December the register I was in line at froze so they had to switch lines and I was next in line and there was a good 10-12 people behind me and instead of letting me know they just switched registers and left me standing in the line. I only had diapers it wouldn't have taken long to ring me out since I was paying with a credit card and I had already stood in line for 20 minutes. They was very rude and told me I'd have to stand in the back of the line because it froze. Another incident was back in November of 2014 I was low on money as it was I only had 130$ on me for my child's diapers, gas and electric bill, etc. My sister & I seen one of the girl scouts and couldn't pass up that look. So after buying a box I pulled my wallet out and laid it on the cart. After putting the groceries in my vehicle my sister went ahead and put the cart away not realizing my wallet was in the cart still. After getting home and realizing my wallet was gone and no one returned my wallet to customer service I drove back up there. When I pulled up into the same parking spot I was at I look in my review mirror and I watched one of the employees dig in my wallet take the money and look at my child's picture and threw it on the ground. And walked inside like nothing happened. So I chased after him and asked him nicely for my money back that he stole from my wallet he started pushing me out the store and squeezing my arm and told me to be quiet. He handed me my 20$ & said that's all there was, which it was a lie so I told him he could give me my money back and he'll keep hisjob or I will make sure he'll never be able to work with people again. So after no luck. I reported it , it was all caught on camera every single bit of it. And Kroger gave me 40$ gift card. Which was better than nothing but what is 40$ Kroger gift card compared to 120$ cash. Nothing.

This is by far the worst Kroger I have ever been to. we do clicklist every week and every week there is always a ton of items that they are out of stock on and a lot of times we are missing items that we were never informed were out of stock to begin. We are on day two now of trying to get the rest of our clicklist order that they didn't even bother to finish and didn't tell us the items that were missing, only about half of them. We have called three times today letting them know which items are missing and they keep calling us back confused as to which items they were even though I have repeated it over and over again. They keep telling us they are out of an item and then five minutes later they call back to say nope they actually have it in stock after all. We were told so many items were out of stock when they were not such as not having a single type of grapes on hand, strawberries, lettuce, I could go on and on... Also I had to speak to the pharmacy four times just to get an answer! The first time they put me on hold but only transferred me back to the main desk that was not even in the pharmacy. The other times it just kept ringing and no one answered. It is not like we are dealing with something that is not important, this is my health, my medication that I need very badly and yet no one can even help me out? The staff are very rude and most are improperly trained and have no idea what they are even doing. I am transferring all of my family's prescriptions elsewhere and I promise that we will never be back to this location!!!

This Kroger is the worst grocery store I’ve ever seen in my life. It has gone so far downhill over the past 5 years too. I used to go here a couple times per week and now I only come here in case of emergency. Literally the laughing stock of the east side at this point. There are memes about how bad the Linwood Kroger is. Every now and then I give it a try but I almost always just leave the store empty handed and drive elsewhere because the food quality is terrible, there are spills everywhere, none of the shopping carts are working if you can even find one, and you have to wait in a chaotic line wrapped around the liquor isle for self checkout because it’s the only option. There used to be two self checkouts you could choose from but the other one has been closed every time I’ve been the past year or so. One time I walked into the store and walked right back out because it smelled like something died in there. I cannot emphasize enough how bad it is. I’m appalled that Kroger thinks this is acceptable and is denying the thousands of complaints this store has consistently been receiving for years. It’s really a shame. To top things off the prices are more expensive than other grocery stores in Indy. Much better prices at Meijer. Our neighborhood needs an accessible, clean, grocery store and this isn’t it.

Don’t use this pharmacy if you need your meds in order to remain alive. I was told on Tuesday (11/1) that I needed to contact my doctor to renew my script, and that if my doctor “sent it today” they could “fill it today”. I contacted him as soon as I got home, and the message showed up in MyChart that he renewed it same day, just one hour later. Today is Thursday (11/3) and the pharmacy still has not filled my prescription with the reasoning being “we’re short staffed and I’m the only tech here.” The tech also could not give me any estimation on when he’d “get around to it”. This pharmacy has been short staffed for weeks and has verbally told me many times they refuse to even answer phones now because of it. (Something I inquired about after being on hold for 20-30 minutes a couple of times, having to hang up because no one answered. Would have been nice to know it became the policy there to not answer phones anymore so that unsuspecting customers don’t call waiting, but I digress.) How many people have had to go without their life-saving drugs? Pretty terrifying. Writing this review to warn others as well as to keep this instance personally documented for legal reasons.

I’m new to the east side of Indianapolis. Well, not new. I moved back to the east side after 25 years of Indianapolis north side, Carmel and Westfield. I shopped at my local Kroger store (#820) on east tenth street. I’m happy with the store and how it’s stocked. What concerns me is : this store has no soul. NO ONE SMILES! NO ONE IS HAPPY, INCLUDING MANAGEMENT! What is the problem? Are they not happy they are working? Customers don’t smile either. It’s like this is a punishment that is necessary to go through to get their staples!! I have worked in another Kroger store. I was an order picker for Kroger pickup. I wanted my customers to have food/groceries that I would accept in my house. Maybe there is a dynamic going on here between workers and customers and managers. Maybe no one likes the others. If that’s the case, things need to change and that starts with MANAGEMENT!! If current management is not up with motivation of employees, then ship management to a training center and retrain them. This store needs a total makeover in attitude! I hope I start seeing a difference!! I’ll be watching!!

I had home delivery from this particular store. For some reason my stores was changed online. this is the first time I've ever had a problem with my home delivery. I was charged for two juices but only ordered one which made my bill an extra $5. I asked for breaded okra they substituted it with plain okra I'm thinking they were substitute with another brand of breaded okra. Which I already have that at home which I do not need. I ordered cheese slices but I was given cheese food processed food slices which I don't eat. I had substitutions of frozen meals instead of a smaller bag they gave me a family bag and that really boosted my food bill not happy at all with this Kroger period call the Kroger twice whoever work in instacart was an answering I called back to no avail they just switched me over and never came back poor poor customer service poor selection of foods within this particular store I will not be ordering instacart I'll just have to find some other way.

Becoming the worst kroger to go to. Went in there for 6 items so i can finish dinner. It took 1hour to get out of line there and when i got in line it was at back of store. There is people walking around everywhere in the back but thet dont want to put them on register when its time for alot of people to checkout. This store really needs a new manager. So dont go into this store unless you grab a cart to start with in the parking lot and also have hour to stand in line. The stores up the food prices for what not to pay people to come in and work then why are prices higher? Then on top of so many people walking out they leave the carts full of food and they sit there ruining the food. So this krogers losing customers and food wasted. Its not good and they will ahow and signaficate loss in coming year. Only postive thing at the store was the customers that did dwcide to stay because qe had no choice was very nice about it but decided they wont be back to that location. Its sad

Want to see classism? Look no further than Kroger. Go to the Kroger in fishers. Come back to this one. The one in fishers is stocked with fresh produce, it’s clean, there are multiple people asking you if you’ve found everything ok, carts are always available. Go to 10th street. Half of the produce is rotten, the store smells, the store is filthy, the parking lot is disgusting, no baskets or carts available and no employee bringing them back in. Only half of the u scans open so the line is a mile long. The only good thing about this place is that the employees the do have (they understaff the place) are really nice. I don’t know who Kroger pays off @ the Indiana health department but I am certain if they were not A huge company they’d fail inspections. The Walmart that had their grocery section shut down here was nicer/cleaner than this Kroger. It’s not just this one. The other one on 10th a mile away and the one on 16th and Central are both terrible too.

I went early Saturday morning 8:15 to avoid the crowd. The meat counter wasn't stocked with the BOGO beef special. There was no fish at the fish counter. There were no cashiers. I'm buying my groceries for the month and I have to bag my own items. I keep trying to give this Kroger a chance since it's in the neighborhood but they fail me every time. I work a late shift and I would enjoy shopping at 3am but since they close at midnight there goes my one joy of the neighborhood. The only positive things about going early this morning was I was able to park by the door, finding a basket inside and no one panhandling. This was your last chance Linwood Kroger I just can't support you anymore. I will now be shopping the Kroger at 227 W Michigan St or the new big Kroger just south of Beech Grove. If I have just one or two items to pick up I'm going to have to do without.

  • Chase Brock

Not my favorite Kroger. Been shopping here for years because there’s no other option near here. The food selection is good, staff is good, but VERY understaffed. Often very very long lines. Often zero carts and zero baskets available. It's some of the customer's, the parking lot, and the mess that makes me give it 2 stars. The parking lot is a hot mess, cars going everywhere all the time, it's also a bit dangerous..there have been several instances of being robbed while loading groceries into your car. I've been followed around by people asking me for money and to buy them things, and more annoying, people being rude and mean while shopping. You'll also find people pick up items and are too lazy to put them back and leave them in random places all over the store. People waste good meat by leaving it in the chip isle because they can't be bothered to put it back.

I placed a Click-List order last week for a 7-8 pm time slot. Kroger called me twice and left voicemails letting me know my order was ready early, and I could come pick it up at anytime. I picked that time slot for a reason - so I went during that time to get my order. Called the store multiple times and no one answered. Mind you - I live downtown, so this is a 25 minute round trip for me. I immediately called the (national) Kroger customer service on the way home, who apologized, said no one was there during my time slot - then why was it available on the app?? Unbelievable. I asked for a refund - they told me it would be processed. This was a week ago, and I am currently on hold with Kroger, AGAIN - to get my money refunded. This will be the last time I ever shop at Kroger, and will be warning all of my friends and social media followers about my experience!

  • Kayla Tatman

Kroger has unfortunately gone downhill. I purchased a 3 pound roll of hamburger there about a week ago, I took 1 pound out on Monday to cook dinner and went to use the other 2 pounds tonight. The best by date is tomorrow and it's already rotten. I can't for the life of me find my receipt and it's not showing recent purchases on my app, but it's still in the original roll with the store name, Kroger, on it. They told me I have to have my receipt and then they will decide if they will refund me or exchange. So upset because this is the 2nd time it has happened with ground beef. Then I had bought a honey dew melon about a month ago, went to cut it open that night and it was rotten. So they exchanged it and I took the other one home and cut it open and it was rotten as well so I gave up and threw it away. So disappointed.

Updated review: this store has gotten its act together and is now a MUCH better shopping experience than it was three years ago. Produce is fresher, the store is MUCH cleaner, the layout of the store is improved, the staff are significantly friendlier -- this store has undergone a MAJOR improvement. Raised my rating from one star to four stars. ------======******O******======------ Grocery shopping should not have to be such a grim experience. Surly customers; rude staff; the ever-present police cars out front; high-priced produce which is not in particularly good condition -- I will actually drive two miles out of my way to the Kroger's at 7101 East Tenth Street or four miles out of my way to Kroger Marketplace in Beech Grove rather than deal with this store.

  • Joaquin Mariscal

I die a little inside every time I go here I just absolutely dislike this location. Shelves are always empty. There’s never any shopping carts, the lines are so long even for self check out. Some things like salads, jello, rotisserie chicken, honey Dijon chips, and sugar free popsicles are basically non existent in their shelves and I have either never or rarely been able to acquire them. I’ve had enough. Finally went to the Shadeland location and they had everything I needed. Floors were shiny, shelves were fully stocked or about to be restocked. Great layout and incredibly friendly service. Wish I could say the same about this location :/ I’m permanently saving myself from future headaches and going there from now on

  • Barker Woof

For the third time in less than a month the guy in the gas station attempted to short change me. Twice for a dollar and this last time for five dollars. Each time I challenged him he never said a word, just slid the money out to me with a smirk. He never offered an apology or an excuse, just slid the money out, smirked and turned away. I have talked to other customers who have experienced the same thing. I'm not saying this guy is trying to rip people off but at the very least Kroger should monitor his interactions with customers to see if he is qualified for the position. I have been buying gasoline there for three years and never had this problem before. Now will change to Speedway as long as he is there.

  • Rob White

If you need to shop for many items ans staples, don't bother coming here on a Monday or Tuesday. They are always out of stock of many items. Thursdays and Fridays seem to be the safest bet. I think they restock a bunch of stuff on Wednesday I also shop semi regularly at the 10th and Shortridge location. In my experience, they do not suffer the same affliction of everything being out of stock Otherwise this is a relatively well-rand store considering the neighborhood that it serves. I will not fault them for some of the extracurricular activity you may have to deal with from time to time when visiting this location. If it wasn't for items regularly being out of stock I would have give them four stars

  • Drew G

This kroger is sad. The shelves are always heavily picked over, the lines are incredibly long, and the food quality is questionable. There's always a lot of fruit flies in the produce area. I live within walking distance and I won't even shop here unless its for a couple items. I just cannot trust this store will have what I need. I drive to Aldi on Washington or to the Walmart or other Kroger on far east Washington. The Shadeland Kroger is about the same as this one. I don't even believe it's store managements fault. Kroger pays pretty little and often will only let the workers work 20 hours or so. Who can survive on 20 hours? I don't blame people for not working here.

  • joshua utke

If your a gun owner (ccw holder) please heed this carry as soon as you get out of your car here.. in the 20 mins I was here I was asked for money 4 times asked if I wanted to buy food stamps for cash seen 3 people get arrested for theft. Their produce is rarely fresh workers are rude. I happen to be wearing a Make America Great Again hat and a He/she that works the self checkout was ignoring me when I needed help then after asking for help from another worker he/she was rude and said you didn't have to ask someone else for help and scoffed at me.. worse Kroger I have ever been to including the most unsafe... May the odds be ever in your favor if you go here

  • Dale Gwin

It is a very busy Kroger in a very needed area. I always have a bit of a wait at the checkout lines that seems to be a permanent part of my experience at this kroger. One thing I found very frustrating at this Kroger during winter weather when the parking lots haven't been able to be completely cleared. I parked farther away wanting to leave spaces closer to the store for people that had difficulty managing snow and ice. Finishing my shopping and pushing the cart toward my car had wheel locks that engaged halfway to my parking space. My choice was to leave my groceries in the car unattended at the exit or as I chose to do manhandle it through the slush.

  • Jeff Bullock

I was injured in the store last October from something being on the floor so today I notified the manager that there was water that has been settled on his floor for 2 days because I have photos of it first he said he didn't know it was there and then when I showed him oh yeah yeah that we've had we've been after he was notified of that he then told me and basically told me get the f out of his store and stop telling him how to do his job Ryan needs to be fired recent update as of October this year now I have walked in and stepped on a rotten apple in the pop aisle so again this store is continuously just putting workers shoppers

  • PRAYED UP

There beer restock is lack luster. And I had a little incident that made me understand the games that they be playing at Kroger's in Linwood square. I was paying for my items threw the self check out, The one that's closes to the front exit. And my 5 dallor bill that I had put in the machine 4 times did not go threw. So I looked around and behind me was a short black guy laughing and I looked at his name tag and realized that he was a employee and I told him that the machine wasn't talking my money. I gave him my 5 dallor bill and he put it threw the machine like I did 4 times prior, and it went threw for him with no problem.

  • Dale Green

Why does the management at this particular location deem it necessary to make check out as nerve wracking as possible? No cash back out change given back? You put it on my Kroger card.....? One, yes, I repeat ONE register open, self check out limited to card only and NO CASH BACK...? I MEAN REALLY? Oh yeah... One last thing... Ever heard of reverse racism? I've never felt more discrimination in my life than at this store with one particular manager and one specific groceryteam member or whatever she calls herself...and what's up with the police officer getting paid to flirt with the cashier's...I mean enough is enough...

  • Corey dennies

Got to Kroger at 9:40 pm. Had twenty minutes to grab one item and be out by 9:50. A worker named Elle (an older lady with long grey hair and glasses) got smart and turned me away. I told her that I would call tomorrow and she got even nastier and yelled her name at me and said she didn’t care. Since when does Kroger turn their customers away twenty minutes before closing? She was very rude and I’ll never spend my money at this Kroger again. I highly recommend calling the manager about complaints. Rude people should NOT get away with treating customers disrespectfully.

  • Irma Leary

It is the neighborhood store reflecting the neighborhood issues. The parking lot is Dreadful, not because of the quality but because of those cars coming every which way all the time, and it is also very crowded all the time. I often do not find the items that were advertised for the week. My purse was stolen there a couple months ago. People complain of the lack of cleanliness, but I think a lot of it has to do with our local clientele who throw stuff in the store in the parking lot. I continue to shop there because it is the most convenient location.

  • Mike Eaton

Used to work here from Aug 2017-June 2018. Customers are rude as can be, they also think the store is their own personal food pantry and will walk out with anything and everything. I even almost got shot one night while working u-scan. At least they learned from that and started closing the store at midnight AFTER I left i can’t complain though. Leaving this god forsaken store was the best decision I ever made for my own mental health. If you wanna deal with the absolute best trash the eastside of Indianapolis has to offer. Look no further.

  • Kathy Bryan

They can't get the panhandling under control. The bathrooms at this location are always in poor condition. My significant other will hold it until we get home if we have to shop there. They are typically out of many items we regularly purchase at other locations. Many of the younger clerks are self absorbed and prefer to socialize in stead of paying attention to their job. There are some folks there who have good character, so I feel a little bit bad for my criticism. Regardless, we prefer do avoid this location whenever possible.

  • Elysia Arntzen

This Kroger is best around the lunch hour. When I go after work, it's pretty busy. I've always gotten good produce there, and they usually have everything I'm looking for. When it's busy, produce can be picked over or completely sold out. Prices are great! I use the Kroger app and always scan my card for discounts. There are bike racks right up against the building, and they have both baskets and carts for shopping. Baskets aren't always by the entrance so I have to go ask at the checkout. Carts can sometimes be all in use too.

  • Cameron Coots

This Kroger is always short on cashiers and the lines to check out are enough to keep me from coming here, not to mention that the place is always a little dirty, smelly and the employees are consistently rude. They also seem to not keep up on inventory well, they're frequently out of certain items. And the produce quality is sub-par. Things go bad quickly after taking them home. Shopping here is taking a risk on waiting 45 minutes to check out, poor quality items, not finding what you wanted, or being treated rudely.

  • Adam Jay Southerland

They never have any hand baskets by the entrance. Also, we consistently find things in the meat department (smoked sausage, deli meat) that is multiple WEEKS out of date. These are such basic things for a grocer. From customer convenience to basic food safety, this location consistently fails. The management should be embarrassed. Regional management needs to hold this location accountable. The only thing they have going for them are friendly employees. For your own health and safety, avoid this location.

  • Eazer Ebonezer

I WENT IN TO PICK UP MY PRESCRIPTION FROM THE PHARMACY, WHICH I NEVER HAVE PROBLEMS WITH, AND AS I WAS LEAVING THE OFFICER ON DUTY AND STORE MANAGER ASKED TO SEARCH ME. THE STORE MANAGER, SOME OLDER BLACK LADY WITH GLASSES WHO LOOKS LIKE THE TYPE TO LOOK DOWN ON BLACK MEN ACCUSED ME OF STEALING. EVENTUALLY I SHOWED THEM I HADN'T STOLEN ANYTHING. THIS IS INDIANA AND I'M A TALL BLACK MALE SO IT'S NO SURPRISE, BUT IF YOU'RE BLACK MAKE SURE NOT TO BE DRESSED IN JEANS AND TENNIS SHOES, YOU WILL BE JUDGED.

  • Andrew Rosenfeld

Not much selection, often understocked. Biggest problem at this location is the length of lines. They will have one of their two self check out areas open with a line to the back of the store, with cashiers at registers. Doesn't make sense to have cashiers and baggers, but not have one person monitoring 6 registers that would increase revenue and shopper convenience. I have left immediately after walking in and driven 10 minutes to another grocery store knowing it would be faster.

  • Elizabeth Imes

I went around 9 AM to get balloons and flowers . There was no one in that area and they paged out for assistance. The lady that finally came to help me was less than eager to assist me and stated she didn't know anything about that area . She looked in the back for about a minute for coming out and stating she didn't know where the balloons were that I needed and she couldn't help me. I was less than impressed . They ended up missing out on an over $40 flower and balloon purchase.

  • Keith Zeller

This is the worst grocery store in all of Indianapolis. Full stop. Corporate is definitely buying reviews to inflate the rating. I have lived within a mile of this store for 6 years and often drive out of my way to go to any other store. The Linwood Plaza Kroger is always understaffed. The checkout lines are always more than 20 minutes of waiting. The carts are all broken. Half of the self-checkout machines are always closed. No improvement in the 6 years that I've lived nearby.

  • Steve Scott (sTeeVo)

My neighborhood market.. Always busy open to close. An honest-cheerful place, patronized by a widely varying spectrum of shoppers who unbeknownst to the other agree that Kroger Linwood is the only market in the area to buy wholesome, fair marketed food, that even the store brand holds up to a choosy eaters high standards often exceeding name brands in taste and value... Also very partial to kroger house brand ice cream varieties for both flavor and quality...

  • Marina Fernandez

This Kroger is always jam packed with customers and there are never really any cashiers. Be prepared to spend at least 40 mins in here. Also they’re never fully stocked and 90% of the employees I’ve encountered are very rude. EDIT TO ADD please be careful getting meat from here! There is a good chance it will be rotten. Parking lot is full of trash. Bring in your own cart from outside. Also be prepared for a random person to ask you to by their groceries

  • April Priest

This happens to be the closest grocery store from my house. It's great that they are open 24 hours. They are usually pretty well stocked but on Wednesday they tend to be out of stock on the sale items. The staff is friendly and helpful. The bathrooms are either very clean or absolutely disgusting. That's more the customers then the people who have to clean them. I recommend this Kroger more than the others that are just a little farther away.

  • Sara Janitz

This place is a joke. Always packed never no carts inside. Meat out of date. Barely anything on the shelf. Lines always to the back of store and never no people working the registers. Service desk is a crazy always a line and wait to get to the service desk is always 20 minutes or more. The wait in line for self check out is always 30 to 40 minutes or more. Do they not have management? I would never dare bring my prescriptions here either.

  • mark trousdale

People shopping here don't seem to mind rats, never being able to find a basket(because staff never puts them back), the refrigerators being full of unwanted frozen food, expired products, and employees ignoring them. never mind the CEO saying he can charge whatever he wants. That's the real reason for inflation. Record profits. I've started going to aldis, but my cats won't eat aldi cat food, so I am forced to visit here once a week.

  • Mary B.

Often times when I shop at this Kroger's there are no shopping carts. Yesterday, there were no carts as usual so several customers and myself went outside to find one. There were about 20 carts pushed up against the building, all of which didn't move. The first two I came upon further out in the parking lot didn't move. I guess Kroger only wants customers who shop for one or two items. A couple people left for Safeway including me.

  • Banjo Cricket USA

The one and only complaint would be the store is always out of stock on many popular brands. Wish they could forecast better to meet demands. Dave in the produce dept., is a true specialist and will answer any questions about fruits, herbs and veggies. A real PRO. Rob in the meat dept., is one very cool man and knows his stuff. Great employees like the aforementioned, keeps this particular Kroger my favorite.

  • Gratien DeSager

No customer service. No employee training. If you're overcharged for a sale price or even regular price and you try to get it rectified they look at you as if you're trying to steal from them. Not to mention store is always filthy, no carts are ever inside and available, if you want one you have to bring it in with you from the parking lot with its Wheels locked, and half the produce is always rotten and moldy

  • Drake Cloin

Probably the worst grocery experience you can have. Never any carts or baskets available, when they are they are broken. Very unclean and disgusting store. Always understaffed. This store gets to skirt by all of its inefficiencies and poor quality control and cleanliness simply because it’s a close option to many of us here in the inner city. Night and day different from any other Kroger I’ve been to.

  • Balto the Wolf

Awful services, the store is always a mess and they have brown meat on their shelves. Also they close 20 minutes before they actually are supposed too, wont even let you use the ATM. Manager never helps the the one cashier they have on, so the self service lines get backed up... If this wasn't the closest Kroger and I had another option I would go to it instead... Avoid this trashy place

  • Kristi Mood

Was treated bad by rushing ppl through the line. She ( cashier )ended up giving some of my grocerys to the customer behind me. Something didnt seem right I tried to say something. But was brushed off. Got home called. Found out she was on smoke break. Was brushed off on phone as well. Expensive food was given away to lady behind me. Will never shop there again. I will drive elsewhere.

  • Nicky Rolland

Very clean very organized and slow pace even the customers were helpful. Something that's rarely showed now in time. A friendly helpful hand not by just one person but by two while I was assisting my clients helping them get in the car two people helped load groceries in the car.and another held car door for me. Something you don't see in the overcrowded Kroger's on Crawfordville Rd.

  • Sherry Gray

Today, Sunday February 19th 2023, I tried to go to the pharmacy to get a prescription. The pharmacy was closed but the employees were sitting in the pharmacy talking to one another. This was around 1:05pm. No signage to explain why the pharmacy was closed during regular business hours. They also never answer the phone and the drive up window hasn't been available for several months.

  • Brenna

I’ve never been to this location without wishing I had gone elsewhere. It’s a circus. Every time I venture in without my husband, I’ve been hit on without fail. Also, Kroger pick up sucks too - they always give up, leaving you with missing items and terrible produce. I live freakishly close, so it makes sense for me to do my shopping here, but I hate it. I’d rather drive further!

  • Lindsey Kurucz

DISGUSTING AND SHOULD BE CONDEMNED. The smell of garbage can be found throughout the store, from the moment you walk in. The produce section is COVERED in FLIES all of all types. The staff are rude, slow, and apparently oblivious to the disgustingly dirty state of the store. Honestly, this store should be reported to the health department. Gross. Will never go here again.

  • Nicole Hunt

This is without a doubt the worst Kroger in Indianapolis. The workers couldn't care less about doing their jobs. Especially in the deli. There is an older woman who works back there who makes you feel like you're inconveniencing her when you need something. The self check out is always backed up for at least 10-15 minutes. This store needs to get it together

  • Sagatire Gaming

Poor experience. From the time you walk into the store it seems you are assigned a security detail to ensure you arent stealing. Then after you check out, everything you purchase is checked to ensure you actually paid for it. Food is spoiled in some departments or out of date. Bathrooms are so disgusting. They are so gross I would never use these bathrooms.

  • Erik Alva

If you come to this Kroger, have a couple of dollars to spare. Too many bums asking for change. People are saying this is a clean store? Well, it's not. It's dirty. Fruits have bugs all over them. Floors are black as if they haven't been moped or cleaned in ages. Dont waste your time and money at this Kroger. Go to a different where it's a whole lot better.

  • Michael Perry

Very busy, high volume store. Despite that. They almost always have what I need in stock. Like today. And most of the employees are friendly and happy to help. Today they were out of catnip on the shelf. And my cats were not going to like that. Behold I told the assistant manager and he was back in minutes with a case. Fresh of the truck. Great service!!

  • Karla Caputo

The store has become run down. Outside there is always trash blowing around and bums asking for money at night the beggers will be inside the entryway asking and security dies nothing. The carts are worn and need replaced the rising carts are always broken. Inside there is always some refrigerated area leaking water and the bathrooms are Always nasty.

  • P Norris

Had a long wait at customer service The the cashier had to call another person to ask about rain checks on the kool aid jammers they have not had in since the sale started Then she had to call an associate to the service desk One person working there in between that she had to answer the phone Then tell me my limits on the rain check was 10-wow

  • Craig Cammelot

The Employee's are Friendly and always helpful. Being a DAV, and in an electric wheelchair, an associate always helps pushing my shopping cart. Management, share a true concern with a Customer's complaint and correcting it. I've been shopping here since 2007. Sometimes a bit busy, but never wait more than 5 minutes at the checkout line.

  • Lorenzo WalkieTalkie

Always clean, and stocked. Staff are super nice. Produce is fresh and tasty. The meat counter always has nice selection. Seltzer water varieties! They could have more local craft beer selection. I am more interested in spending my money on local beer. Gluten free options. The house brand GF pizza is really good, my kids love them.

  • ADT Reports stores

I asked for help to buy a neosure formula for my baby and how do I know that they have it isolated because the last time I came they had it like that and they sold it for 4 per person due to the shortage of formula and the Manager left me alone and I asked 2 people and they simply told me to look for them in the baby hall

  • Tara Hunter

There's nothing wrong with the Kroger itself, it's the area and environment that are rough. While pumping gas(5 minutes or so) I was asked 3 times for money, cigarettes or to "buy" food stamps!! Lots of homeless and those suffering from addiction in this area, soliciting and begging for money in and outside of the Kroger.

  • Samuel Stratton

App, Google, and the sign on the door all say open until 10 pm. Arrived to pick up some much needed medicine and was informed that "the doors close at 9:45" because the manager said so. I know that this is not corporate policy to stop customers from purchasing products just because the manager wants to go home early.

  • Polar Bear Says Yummy!

The most annoying thing about this store is searching for a cart that actually works. A wheel will lock if the cart is taken outside the lot. Unfortunately the lot and lobby are littered with locked and partially locked carts. The grocery area itself is adequate. The public areas, though, need a through cleaning.

  • Lauren

Writing this review as I'm standing in the checkout line which I've spent 30 minutes waiting in so far. Never have anything in stock, store is laid out terrible so have to walk all over just to find what I'm looking for, beyond crowded with people but also staff unloading shipments. I can't stand this Kroger.

  • Jason Romero

Friendly staff... Wish the deli was ran better with competent staff. Bought what thought and was labeled to be swiss cheese, turned out to be white American cheese... The deli staff and operating hours and how often they put out and make hot foods is lacking badly, everything else in the store is up to par.

  • David Muse

This store is disgusting!!!!!!! The parking lot is absolutely littered with trash, the men's restroom is DISGUSTING!!!! You always have to get carts from the parking lot, which I understand they have a staffing issue, but someone can't run out and grab a few carts? This is why people order there groceries.

  • Elizabeth Wilson

No carts, cashier didn't listen and gave me the wrong cigarettes, would not exchange them for correct pack. Had to go to the service desk wait 30 minutes to get my money back. The shelves we're not stocked, and employees not willing to get the products from the back even when I can see them from the door.

  • molly Watkins

Never has carts inside And what's left in the parking lot has locked wheels. Never have anything other than one side of the self checkout lines are all the way to the back of the store takes about 20 minutes or more to get to the checkout Hard to shop here Please CLEAN UP THE PARKING LOT ITS NASY

  • Bruce Waldrep

Definitely could use stockers in the frozen food section, I've never been in a Kroger and seen so many empty shelves in coolers like I experienced at this location. Also baggers appear to need retraining. Got home with 15 bags, reducing them down to 5 and had to rebag the heavy ones to reinforce

  • John Mitchell

This is the nastiest grocery store in Indy. Always filthy dirty. Never any carts in store when they open. Two check outs open. All self check out terminals are filthy, the credit card scanners are to dirty to read your cards and most don't except cash. In the summer it smells of rotten food.

  • Jake Young

Order delivery from here at your own risk. We have gotten items added as “substitutes” that we never ordered or received. They hide $10-20 worth in bigger orders. Kroger won’t do anything about it either. They may be great if you go there in person but the delivery service is super sketchy.

  • J B

This is the kind of store where you'll find a pair of used panties on the floor. Employees are rude as can be. It'd be cool if the management actually gave a damn about this store, but I don't see it happening any time soon. They view this community as garbage so the treat is just the same.

  • Karen Strong

I enjoy shopping at this store ,they are continually restocking ,so what you don't see that evening is possible you will see it the next morning. The only problem is checking out. long lines it seems they only have two cashiers each time they are ok but you saying is just okay enjoy!!!

  • Rocky Holmes

It's a nice neighborhood grocery store! The parking lot is always a mess and vehicles parked in front of the store. The produce is OK, the staff is kind and helpful, Pharmacy is Awesome, and there is a nice variety throughout the store. I really like the new lay out overall. Thanks!

  • Mark Neal

This Kroger has been downsizing their inventory so much so that you now have to go to another grocery store to get everything you need. It used to be a one stop get everything here grocery store. It's a clean safe store to shop at. Plenty of free parking space. It's Open 24-7-365.

  • Janie Dunson

Wish they had a better selection but they are small. Was surprised at how clean it was today. Last week their deli apparently lost power or something because their deli area was closed and empty and there was such a horrible spoiled smell I almost threw up walking in the door .

  • Scott

The location is crazy. And you're going to get asked for money. But considering it is the only grocery store that is willing to put a location around here I will give it an extra star. They keep it mostly stocked and they have good deals and the regular employees are great.

  • Bryce

I don't know her name but an elderly woman that checked me out, saw I was upset (have a brother in the hospital for cancer treatment). She asked if I was alright and did not rush me out the door. Nothing to do with groceries but the employees seem to be pretty good people.

  • Seth Johnson

Not a great selection of fresh products. Floor in produce area is dirty and sticky. I try to plan to not go here, but every once in awhile it's the best option. YMMV on how busy the store is depending on the time-of-day, but for an 8pm trip, the lines queue pretty long.

  • jon southwood

We went to there front office for western union, and it was closed for understaffed but plenty registers open and they didn't care we walked for money left no money no food almost no hope almost but had walk far away . And Kroger is Dime-Life attitude and doesn't care

  • Mrs. Kleyla

This Kroger is always packed and the carts are always outside in the parking lot. A week ago they were all ofnof gallons and half gallons of milk. There's been multiple times this particular location didn't have items I needed. I don't really care for this Kroger.

  • Brittany Kitchen

Store is actually pretty clean, maybe I happen to come after they do some cleaning. However, the employees are almost always snide and impatient at this location. I do get asked for change by strangers in the parking lot almost every time I come, though....

  • Chooba Dee

Great seafood selection and plenty of variety in all the aisles. The store itself is great and the employees are nice enough. If you don't mind being accosted by people asking for handouts on the way in and out of the store it's a fantastic place to shop.

  • Anissa Allison

I went through self service and needed help with my card payment and the customer service rep. was so aware of each register, as I turned my head to ask what to do, she already gave me the answer. Wow, that is GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Thank you Kroger!!

  • Nicholas Yeager

They are ok. They do well most of the time. Do not order pickup later in the day. Several times they have made me wait and then asked me to wait another hour or come back the next day. Never had a problem with picking up early in the day or in store.

  • Michelle Holland

It was awful. Just awful. If I have to walk or take a bus to another store I will. I do not think I'll be going back to Lynnwood Kroger for a very long time. I understand being short staffed. The closing the self-serve checkouts doesn't help.

  • Robin Watson

The cashier named Gypsy didn't say hello and when I checked out didn't say " thank you" after completing my transactions....... however the man behind me she spoke to......smh. I will begin reporting rude customer service to Kroger corporate.

  • Wayne Bohall

It's a dirty store ... food is everywhere... meats in the can goods.... t.p. in the freezer.... produce in the crackers .... and that's every time I go there .... the parking lot looks like the city dump most of the time ..... as far as the

  • dustin jones

One night on my way into this store (through the exit of course since they never have the entrance open) I stopped and blocked the doorway because the sheriff lady was arguing with a shoplifter that was holding a bunch of grocery bags full

  • Gayle Cosby

I grew up going to this Kroger and I have fond memories but I'm starting to hate going because there are never carts inside. Also I usually get asked for money in the parking lot. I gave $ to a guy who said he needed gas and was carrying

  • Brandy Snider

I just moved to the Irvington area and this is the closest grocery store to me. This Kroger is DIRTY! There is trash and cigarette butts all over the parking lot and cigarette butts inside the entrance. The store doesn't look all that

  • robert b. jones Jr.

Fueling stations supposed to open up at 6:00 every time I roll up at 6:00 a.m. is always issues with the attendant either the cash registers don't work or the lottery machine ain't working . Not guaranteed to get service at 6:00 a.m.

  • Amanda Sims

Very ghetto. Always crowded. Never have shelves stocked. From the little walk from your car to the store entrance you get hit up at least 4 times from bums asking for money. Plus right at the entrance you always have sign HOLDERS

  • Shannon Wiley

Worst produce and meat of all the Krogers in Indy. Staff is very nice but the meat is not trimmed of any fat or gristle and cut badly so it is tough. Produce is not very fresh, it's old, bruised and lacking in selection.

  • T-Signate

I Love Kroger! Shopping is fast, they have clean & wide aisles. Lots of International Food options. Fresh Deli+ bakery everyday and meat counter. Plus there is a cute toy aisle for my kids to sneak things into my cart!

  • C. C

Helpful cashier's mostly all of them. I like the service desk lady she is helpful and kind. Which is preferred instead of the cashier's don't won't speak act unconcerned, and mad that they should work to earn a living.

  • Chase Sillery

Avoid this Kroger, it's the worst. Always so busy and such a hassle. The location is one of the busiest but they don't keep stuff stocked and it's a lot of hassle. The check outs are always backed up 5 or more deep

  • Jose Cabrera

Always dirty everywhere, like 90% of the staff seem to love looking like they don't care about anything and acting like it... Usually well stocked but cleanliness and staff-customer service need major improvements.

Why have a bakery when there is never anyone to write on them. I believe it was a manager who told me that. How are you managing a bakery and can’t decorate cakes? Went right to Walmart and got what I needed.
