I usually do not leave negative reviews but unfortunately, I had a bad experience with the Griffintown Hotel. I booked a duplex on January 4, knowing Montreal can be busy in the summer and wanting to make sure I secured a great place to stay for my trip with three friends. I got a confirmation email that day confirming my reservation dates were July 7 to July 10. I had no contact from them until the evening of July 4 (less than 72 hours before my trip started), when I received a text saying my room was ready. I texted back to say I would be there July 7. They responded via text "Sorry but we have a reservation in our system with an arrival today" and sent me a screenshot with my name and contact information on it and the reservation dates July 4 to 7. I was confused and alarmed, and re-sent them my confirmation via email which had the correct dates of July 7 to 10. They responded via email they were sorry but they were sold out July 7 to 10, but that they could book a room or two for the same cost we had originally paid at their partner hotel, Hotel Alt, which was nearby. The partner hotel is a standard hotel with normal rooms, it did not offer a duplex set up like I had originally booked. I emailed back that I was confused about how this happened. They said "I don't know why it changed. I have to find out with the software company." But now I see there are a few other negative reviews on here that had similar experiences. Worried they possibly had scammed me, I declined their offer to stay at Hotel Alt. Flustered and with only a few days before out trip started, we ended up staying at the Delta Marriott in downtown Montreal, which was fine, but my friends and I had been really looking forward to staying at the Griffintown Hotel.

Great charming stay in a trendy area within walking distance of restaurants, Bell Centre, parks, grocery stores, etc! We stayed in the duplex for 3 nights with our little dog. We had a big bathroom with a tub and a kitchen. It was very cozy and we were well supported by the owner, Michael. Michael helped us to get parking in a nearby underground public parking for $25 a night and just left our car there and chose to walk around everywhere. There are several coffee shops in the area with some nice breakfast options, one just on the corner. Restaurants are 10-15 minute walk. There’s a little grocery store a few doors down and other larger ones a bit further away. The private garden in the back was cute and a nice place to take our dog out.

Michael was very accommodating on my stay for my bachelor party. We arrived early and he was able to hold our luggage so we can explore a bit before check in. He was quick to recommend places to eat and see, and was available if we needed anything at anytime. My bachelor party plans to return to Montreal, and we can only hope Michael has availability during our trip.

This hotel was located in a great, quiet location, walkable to shops, restaurants, coffee, etc. A short Uber from further locations. The gardens were beautiful and well kept. Our space was clean upon arrival. The owner and staff were helpful and ensured we had the best stay and even joined us when invited for some chat and good vibes. There are speakers available to play music in the gardens if you have a Sonos app. I cannot say enough lovely things about this hotel!

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel particulier Griffintown. We stayed in “l’appartement” and loved having a full kitchen, dining and living room and space to unwind. The owner, Michel, is incredibly hospitable and made us feel right at home. The garden is a delight, and the location was perfect—close enough to walk to all the sites (old city, downtown, etc) but in a very authentic, funky neighborhood. 10/10 would recommend

We rented the jardin secret for a family event. It was the perfect mix of charm and warmth. The location is well situated. They allow for external catering which is very helpful for those with dietary restrictions. I highly recommend this venue for anyone looking for a smaller, intimate space.
