It's been a while since I've flown out of LGA and I noticed a vast improvement in the decor, the stores and the layout/systems to get passengers boarded. After you get through TSA (which is always the longest and most trying part of any airport) you walk through all kinds of food and retail shops to get to your gate. It's very clever the way it's set up because you're bound to see a shop that you gotta go into to buy something (I have no willpower when it comes to spending) and when you get to your gate (I was flying AA so this review speaks to their gates) the seats are comfy and there are plenty of outlets available by the seats to charge up your devices. I forgot to mention there are several employees in place at the entrance to greet you and guide you to the kiosks to print your boarding pass when you arrive. My experience was decent, no complaints.

I've been a resident New Yorker since birth and believe it or not, this was my very first time taking a flight from LaGuardia. I normally book flights from JFK since it's closer to home but LaGuardia was the location that had an early morning flight for my travel date. It's been newly renovated so I can't compare it to how it operated previously but when comparing it to JFK, LaGuardia is MUCH more efficient. When you first arrive it might be intimidating when you see a VERY long line at the TSA checkpoint but it flowed smoothly and quickly. I think I might have spent no more than 20 minutes going through the entire check in process. And the agents were professional as well as courteous. It's been the complete opposite with my past experiences at JFK. So if you're not a fan of JFK, I highly recommend flying to and from LaGuardia instead.

What's the best airport out of NYC? LGA babyyyy - not only is it super easy access to the city but it's fast, clean and brightly lit. Staff is so pleasant. Always enough of them too so no unnecessary lines. In and out of security in under 10 minutes? Let's see Newark do that (pos airport). Get to the airport in under an hour for 2.90$? Good luck if your flight is from JFK! Also, the airport food is very good. Highly recommend the Italian place near gate 30. The bartender did not judge me when I ordered a bottle of wine for myself at 940 AM (hey it's an airport!) and the food is pretty good. LGA is the premier airport for NYC and I happily spend up to 100$ more on a flight for it. I will literally fight anyone who disagrees with me.

Had flight from Terminal B out of LGA on 6/2/23. Airport has moved commercial servives to the new garage and encourage pick ups to wait in the free cell lot. Drop off was a breeze. The check-in counters are well laid out and United moved the check in process. quickly. Unlike my experience at JFK, TSA at terminal B was about 7 minutes! Lines were distributed well and they have the latest machines. Access to gates was well labeled and an easy walk. Plenty of general stores right after escalador up from TSA . It was like being in a mall. Food shops distribute throughout. Lounge and bathrooms were clean.

This airport is surprisingly pleasant. It is warm, quiet and clean. I had always imagined that it would be dirty and very busy but it seems like they have a good system. The bathrooms seem well maintained and are very frequent. There is a variety of bars and stores and I am told all.of the bars (at least in my terminal) are run by the same company meaning the drink prices are all the same. That is a great time saver knowing that it won't save you any mo ey to keep looking for the cheapest cocktails. All in all both layovers were a good experience.

New airport is really nice !!! Besides a state of the art airport, huge disclaimer, there is so much confusion around the gates at least at my gate, terminal b gates 50-57, gates are side by side, gates get constantly changed, and apparently the staff don’t use intercoms bc the agents just scream out the changes, so be careful that you are in the rt line, sooo many ppl were not , and I put the fault on the airport. Major confusion that could be avoided imo. I walked right through tsa no wait

This was my first time flying out of LaGuardia since the airport has been renovated. Since I have TSA Precheck ,it was very quick. It was BETTER than JFK TSA Precheck. I even told my husband we may consider flying out of LGA more if the prices are better with Jetblue. The terminal itself is very beautiful. ALOT of different restaurants to choose from. I had an early morning flight and there were still a decent amount of choices that were open. Overall a wonderful experience. Keep it up LGA!!

Today I flew out of Terminal B and I must say it takes A LOT to impress me and Terminal B did NOT disappoint - especially TSA - yes you are reading correctly - the TSA operation here is exceptional, so smooth and seamless with the newer much better screening equipment. What a breeze and then the new terminal itself (with the Vegas-like ceiling water feature) with a cornucopia of dining and relaxing options was also very impressive. They did a great job with Terminal B.

  • David Fitzpatrick

The airport as one may expect is a place where planes come and go. I couldn't possibly rate aviation as a whole so I'll go with the in building review. TSA is lax AF here, I put a whole bunch of random electrical wires and an alarm clock in my bag and they just slid that bad boy right on through. Stopped for a drink at bar 212 and got nasally assaulted by an employees vicious body odor that was so offensive it delayed my flight for an hour. Tread carefully my friends.

  • Henry Quinn

They did it. Those crazy mfers did it. Terminal B is not just better, it's full on pleasant. Possibly my favorite major airport anywhere I've ever been. Can't believe I just typed that, or that 'see if we can fly into LaGuardia' is going to be a thing that I say now. Open, sunny, comprehensible, efficient -- holy cow. Thank you so much, whoever did this, and thanks to the government and taxpayers for doing something so great.

  • Vijai Kingston

Modern airport with brilliant design elements while having tons of open space. The check-in process was efficient and easy. Security check pass through was freely flowing through, and having the expected time displayed at entry point was brilliant and reduced the anxiety. Gate layout and crowd management were well designed. Overall, it is great to see a modern airport here in America. WTG, LA Guardia!!

  • Dasha DAcosta-Johnson

Flew in for the first time, and it was very nice. The signage is clear, and there is an ample amount of walking and escalator space, so it wasn't cramped. Very nice restrooms. We took Uber to our destination, and the pickup area was a lot, but it works out. It's similar to the Austin airport if you have been. But definitely beats going to JFK. Even if it was out of my way I would go there.

  • Lance Sanders

First time here. Terminal is new & very nice. Pet relief station was not far from our gate for George, our Chihuahua. Only bummer is you would have to ride a bus if you have a flight in another terminal, then go through security again. Lucky for us, we had the adjacent gate for our connecting flight to DC. Enjoyed this view as we grabbed a quick lunch at Junior’s.

  • Moksh Khurana

It's a modern & clean terminal with quite a few shops that are NOT duty free. There is just one small duty free shop near gate 40 which is quite small, and the terminal offers many lounges, including Amex Centurion Lounge. It is not a bad way to spend some time or wait for your connecting flight. You'll see a dancing fountain as a main attraction.

  • Alexey Panchekha

New and improved but it has surprisingly long walkways NOT equipped with moving ways. Very odd, the way one shot moving walkway in an odd spot in a long long walkway. While walking you are going up 2 flights and down two flights with your carry on. Looks like they tried to make a "huge" airport experience. As extra 20 min just for walking.

  • Jake Hypersonic

Long wait for Lyft/Uber. Good local restaurant options. This airport has the only airport overpass of a runway in the world and there are two of them actually; you actually walk onto a moving walkway (high in the sky) while airplanes ✈️ move underneath you; thats the coolest part of this airport for an aviation enthusiast such as myself.

  • chris hluzek

I am extremely pleased with LGA. Beautiful, clean, modern, open-air architecture allows for plenty of natural light. It is one of the few places in NYC where people aren't packed in so tight. My only wish, more local food vendors as opposed to corporate ones. However, they have made traveling in and out of LGA relatively low stress.

  • Matthew Sheppard

American Airlines' customer service is less than useless and this isn't the first time. I watched the plane back away from the gate. But my luggage made the flight. Refused to assist in any way and their answer to multiple questions were "just Google it." If I had any other choice, I'd never use them or this airport again.

  • Vaughn Wilson

Terminal A is small and has a historic/ nostalgic feel and look. The terminal now has a CIBO Express outlet in the lobby area for passenger convenience. Terminal B has a fantastic waterfall that will always capture your attention. Terminal C has the restaurants and new feel. Always something interesting happening.

  • Kim Wright

Horrible experience. The workers that I encountered were RUDE,DISRESPECTFUL, LAZY,UNSYMPATHETIC & down right hate their jobs. I would suggest getting out of the customer service light & look for your own ANGRY opportunity. Hopefully I'll never need to fly to JFK or LGA, both airports have many horrible workers!

  • Barry Chafetz

Terminal B Jetblue. Easy Mosaic check in without any lines. TSA Precheck was pretty fast. Food court is packed, and so is the American Express lounge, but the Amex staff are working diligently to keep the food trays full. Plane is now delayed more then two hours, so a couple of drinks will help spend the time.

  • carlos v

TSA , if you don't like your job find a new one, attitude is off the charts and the lack of enthusiasm and urgency when checking people's stuff, taking your sweet time while people have a flight to catch. Or add another worker turned around to see 6 people employees in a circle just chatting it up.

  • Philip Zalon

What a gorgeous airport! It sparkles! From the lighting to the marble floors to the bathrooms to the employees. Enter security by scanning your boarding pass. Walk right up to the security agent! Bins for carry-ons never run out because they return automatically! I felt like I was in the future.

  • Scarlet Spyder

Always fast always clean. Airport has 2 main departure terminals so even international flights are fast and easy to get to. I fly frequently and I always pick this airport unless it's not available for my chosen destination. Plenty of food options and a ton of restrooms. Great overall

  • Restaurant Critics

First time at LGA - security staff are absolutely not kind. Seems that they don’t like their job in any kind. Even the staff before boarding weren’t polite when they have been mentioned that they have displayed a wrong flight number making all dedicated passengers confused about.

  • Joe Valencia

I had a minor situation in which my identification did not match with my JetBlue boarding pass. They were able to identify the problem and I was able to get back online quickly. Overall I was pleased with how the employees assisted my family and I will gladly use LGA again.

  • Steve Denkers

I would not normally rate an airport so high, based on the inherit hassles of travel, but having just traveled through DEN (Denver International Airport), this airport shines by comparison. DEN you should send a contingent to LGA to learn a few things.

  • David Glabe

I had never flown here before, but am told the airport used to be quite "gritty". That is no longer the case. The terminal was clean and well designed with fountains, unique art, and even a play area for kiddos. Would gladly travel through here again.

  • Holly Wood

This is my return home trip. The staff at the baggage check were rude. The people at the TSA were awesome! I had requested a wheelchair and it never showed up. I arrived early just in case and I am glad that I did. I had enough time to walk slowly.

  • Ryan Hansen

Clean and modern airport with plenty to do during a layover. Be sure to check out the water feature in the center of the food court in Terminal B, If you have the time, it's worth hanging around to see the water show that is run every 15 minutes.

  • Kay Montgomery

We took off so late this morning... too much traffic. But took off well and landed well. Pilot did a good job keeping us safe in the air but LGA has to improve and get the planes out on time... Bathrooms and all were clean and in shape for use.

  • Ron Llamas

Minus one star for not having Clear lanes. Minis one star because the pet relief area had not been cleaned in a long time. Urine everywhere, if my service dog had used it, her paws and fur would have smelled like 3 day old urine.

  • aziz bahh

The only complaint I see about LGA is the lack of space at departures for drop offs. As soon as you pull in to drop off you'll get traffic/security people chasing you away in a disrespectful way. Because of this, 2 stars down

  • Miss V

Clean, easy security and quick to get through. Great shops, variety of food places, bookstores, fao Schwartz and lots of seating to wait for flight. I always fly in and out of LGA. It's a quick can ride to and from my home.

  • Lilian Hu Nguyen

The newly built terminal is sleek with plenty of food options as well. Security needs a ton of work. The agents inspecting are slow, machines are slow, you spend the longest duration of your LGA trip in the security line.

  • michelet gilles

What happened to my LGA with the buckets to catch the rain? Where have you gone I've been transported to another place and time. Where are my drafty corners from which the rats leveraged to join us in the terminal?

  • Christian Offley

Very clean and efficient airport. Only wish there were more places to charge devices. That would help families traveling with kids and watching things on tablets. So families bring portable chargers or long cables lol

  • Steven Mattor

aesthetically pleasing with the new remodel but at the cost of efficiency. Security layout feels like an after thought and you have to find your way through a maze of gift shops just to even see a listing for a gate.

  • Coleen Philipson

The newly renovated terminals are absolutely gorgeous. All the shops & restaurants welcome you in. The mosaic artwork walls are beautiful and represent all the great things about New York. An enjoyable experience!

  • Curtis Peek

First time traveling through LGA. This airport is very convenient to the city and is a very beautiful place. The new terminals and adminities that are offered is what I feel all major airports should have.

  • Mickey D

Very nice and clean airport. Beautiful with lots of things to see at least at Christmas time. Long walk to baggage but it was made sort of sight seeing with the fountain the displays and the decor.

  • Suresh Jayaraman

Renovted Terminal! Very Spacious, New look! and convenient access to amenities inside terminal. Access to gate after you clear the customs is about 5 to 7 mins walk. Restrooms are kept very clean.

  • Traci Ealey

It's an airport. Lol. We got through check in and TSA and walked a mile to the gate. The bathrooms were clean and designed well. They have done a lot of construction and the airport looks great.

  • Marguerite Sterling

Very helpful gentleman at the kiosk was so appreciated. He directed me to the next place I needed to go. Thank you for taking my carryon as well. The new terminal is bright, clean, and pretty.

  • Linda Parsons

Very easy to get around. Was able to find the Q70 bus without any issues. Landed in Terminal B. My only complaint is that only one bathroom was open and it only had 4 stalls. So a big line

  • Raymond Ernesto Colón

LGA's glow up is real! Both the JetBlue terminal and the Delta terminal are AMAZING. It is easily my favorite NYC airport and makes traveling joyful again ... not departing and arriving.

  • Yos Feit

Staff is great here and we got to our gate smoothly and swiftly. The wheelchair service was fast. Plenty of security lines were open. Facility is huge and it's a long walk to the gate.

  • Clark Rechkemmer

Brand new Terminal and toilets are broken; restroom closed! Electrical power outlets at new seats NOT WORKING. Perhaps " newer" is not necessarily " better" at the Jet Blue gate areas!

  • Mark Politowicz

I can't speak about the other areas but Terminal B where we flew United is gorgeous. There is an automated hi tech fountain with lasers and music. Lots of shops, restaurants and bars.

  • William Butler

I like the improvements and the remodels. Prices for the food concessions are too high for my per diem. Spent too many hour there with out being able to eat because of the prices.

  • Millie Goins

When I traveled, the TSA was friendly and smiling. The security process was more streamlined and simpler than some regional airports, and that was surprising and appreciated.

  • Tony Skyy

Great airport to travel out of. Most of the time when I fly out, even with the lines being long, TSA keeps it moving and are courteous. To bad it's only for domestic flights.

  • Kendal Fulgencio

Been with LGA for a decade to visit family, cleanest Airport and well organized. Before it was under construction years ago inside in certain areas and it looks wonderful!

  • Jhony Nelson

Very nice a d very clean. I love the new layout. It's very nice that they stir the traffic around through all the vendors/stores. This way I got some last forgotten items.

  • Cm3

They have water bottle fountains, which should be mandatory at any public location. The terminals are nice. The bathrooms are relatively clean. The TSA moves really fast.

  • Bill Riley

Wow, this is a beautiful brand new terminal. Easy in and out. Everything just worked. Loved the water effects in the main court. Why. An’t all airports be like LGA.

  • Danny W

It feels like at the end of a Disney ride u have to walk thru the gauntlet of shopping options. Otherwise this is a huge place with ample seating at the gates.

  • Michael Hernandez

Very clean airport. Checking and security was very fast. While waiting for the plane at the gate there are plenty of seats and plugs to charge your phone.

  • Greg M

I like how the airport flows. Security is a breeze. Took longer to walk to gate. My only issue is getting here. Should really build that Airtran service.

  • J Carlock

Very clean, architectural appealing and well laid out airport! Well maintained restrooms were a welcomed sight. Others should take note of this airport!

  • Sary .J. Moerler

Beautiful upgrades. TSA lines were extremely long, I would recommend getting in as early as possible so you don't get caught being late to your flight

  • Audrey Alonzo

I love the changes to LGA!! It's very updated, clean, modern. Nice stores and restaurants, food options. Great seating areas with charging stations.

  • Dhruv Patel

Amazing airport. Elegant interior. Musical fountain and giant curve screen are attraction. Definitely makes tiring journey bit relaxing and smooth.

  • Darah C.

We waited close to 30 Mins for the thrifty shuttle. To add Salt to injury, Their rental car location is 30 mins away. Totally ruined my whole day.

  • Jason McGowan

So much cleaner then before, they did nice renovations since my last visit. And the admirals lounge is off the hook. So much room, quiet spaces.

  • Ramon

Upgraded B gates are very nice the new Admiral lounge is very nice. Lots of plugs all over the terminal for all your power hungry device needs.

  • Richard Quashie

TSA was fast and had no issues, no crowds. Easiest security preboading ever. Mind you my arrival to airport was around plus 2hrs in advance.

  • Wayne Brearley

The bathrooms were very clean but the majority of the USB ports were broken in the chairs, so make sure you have a power cable for charging.

  • Greg Ruhe

It was clean, the staff was normal airport staff, and directions to everywhere were clear. Can't ask for anything more at 4 in the morning.

  • Bruce T

New terminal facilities are great. Good food options. Big thanks to MTA for the free LaGuardia Link bus service to nearby subway station.

  • Douglas Ogrin

Heard horror stories about LGA but it is an amazing place. The refurbished terminals make it one of the more modern airports in the US.

  • Tommy Nelson

The shops and restaurants are amazing. I absolutely enjoyed the end of my trip with a nice drink before jumping on my flight back home.

  • Tyler Szymanski

We ended up having to wait at the gate for like 2 hours because TSA is lightning fast. Also nice shoppes in the centre of the terminal
