Having read through the reviews, its really interesting how many people give 1 star reviews on out of date and bad service. I mean, its a small convenience store with someone at the counter to pay. Not sure what kind of level of customer service you want from it. We've been coming here 7 years or so, and my observation is that there are two regulars at the counter. One is more friendlier than the other, so perhaps that might explain it. We've not had issues finding expired food, but since they don't look like they have an expensive inventory system, certainly could be part of it. Prices for us have been reasonable, and they've been friendly, might be because my wife speaks Cantonese with them at the counter. Still, have never had an issue there, and they are reasonably stocked for what we get.

everytime i buy something from this shop,and they were good with their service but today chinese lady was very rude.i bought 2 bananas nd when i asked for the bag they refused as they don’t have,but there were bags at the counter i told lady to give me bag ..she very rudely returned my money nd said we can’t serve you,as she was not ready to give me bag because i just bought 2 bananas..very poor and rude lady in front.

Bad service. The lady was like can't except more than 10 pieces of coins, they said it's there rules and she even pointed to the paper that they were hanging. They also don't allow to pay with card less than $10, have to pay with cash and that time I don't have cash. Basically bad service and the lady was very rude. Never buy stuff and I won't recommend people to go to this store.

The most overpriced store ever. Went to buy 2 red bean ice cream fish and it totalled up go $22! At a regular asian store, you'd get both for $10. Honestly, take the time out of your day to drive by a closer asian grocery store and save money.

A warning about La Star Asian Food store in Berala Some of their products they display one price but then charge a higher price when you go to checkout An example is can fish

Products were overpriced, customer service was horrible and the lady owner was very rude and refused to give me a plastic bag.

Conveniently located Asian grocery store just opposite Woolsworths and adjacent to Berala station. Good for a quick shop.
