Sylhet, in the northeast of Bangladesh, is renowned for the beauty of its tea gardens, and among the lot, Lakkatura is considered the most scenic. It is also one of the largest tea gardens in the country, covering a total of 3,200 acres. This estate was officially established in 1875, and it now produces an astounding 550 tons of tea each year. A number of dirt roads intersect the garden, some purpose-built to transport tea across and beyond the grounds. Others are simply part of a larger network of roads cutting through Lakkatura, taking visitors through hills of neatly manicured rows of tea plants. Following the latter set of roads takes you to several rural villages in and around Lakkatura estate, including makeshift villages where migrant workers live during the harvest. The British East India Company first introduced tea cultivation in Bangladesh in 1840, but it was only in 1857 that tea became a commercial occupation. In 2012, Bangladesh produced more than 70,000 tons of tea. In spite of its small size, the South Asian country is the 12th-largest tea producer in the world, employing more than 300,000 people. The industry is supervised by the Bangladesh Tea Board and the Bangladesh Tea Research Institute.

Malnicherra Tea Estate (also known as Malnichhera Tea Garden) is a tea garden located in Sylhet district of Bangladesh. It is the oldest tea garden in the subcontinent. Malnichhera Tea Garden is not only the largest and first established tea garden in Bangladesh, but also in the subcontinent. It was established by Lord Hurdson in 1849 on 1500 acres of land.The tea garden is located a short distance from Sylhet International Airport. Harong Hurong, an ancient cave situated in the remote area of Malnicherra.

Get down from the car and go up the hill through the tea garden road. Me and Hasan sir, Farooq sir spend good time here in the evening. I was impressed by the tea gardens and mountains full of natural beauty. And the field game can be seen from here.

This is a lovely spot near the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. The tea garden is ideal for a short visit. There is nothing but a small tea garden and a few hills.

It doesnt costs any money at all. There are some extortionist you should avoid. However, its the mountain where you can enjoy both sunrise and sunset and also make a campfire. But, make sure you got permission for it.

Its cost money but the place is good for sight seeing and refreshment.Here is a big tea garden and some small hills.Besides here is a cricket Stadium it is nice to see.
