Outstanding laundry and dry cleaning business located in the Dilworth area but so well-located anyone in South End, Myers Park, Elizabeth, Uptown, and other Charlotte neighborhoods can easily find it.The Wash House provides both laundry machines and dry cleaning services. In addition, they are very accommodating for special requests: I recently needed some black polo shirts which were in excellent condition but which had faded over time dyed black. Jeff, the owner, researched the project, took it on at a very reasonable cost, and the result was that I have renewed polos with a much crisper look and longer life expectancy. The Wash House also doesn't just launder, but also provides excellent ironing services, which we have used for our bed linens in our home. Again, the work done is professional and the results are exceptional. For those needing to wait while their laundry is washing or drying, The Wash House is conveniently located next to or within a block of several restaurants as well as a Food Lion. In terms of doing laundry, completing grocery shopping and grabbing a bite to eat, all of this can be done by parking once and making maximum effective use of one's time. Jeff, the owner, and his staff are all friendly, hard working and helpful. I recommend The Wash House without reservation.

The current owner of The Wash House as of 2021 through now in Feb 2022 has really let this place go downhill. The two prior owners kept it very clean, professional and functional. Under the current ownership, the place is filthy and most washers don’t work. Not only do they not repair of replace the broken machines, they don’t even automatically post signs on the broken machines to warn the customers before using them. They also throw away any items left on the same day rather than at least keeping them for 24 hours in case a customer returns once realizing they’ve left something in a machine. We only return there because the location is convenient and close to other businesses I need to utilize while doing laundry. But it’s really hard to go there these days since they could care less about the laundromat and its customers. We so miss the former owners, because they worked hard to keep the place clean and in excellent shape as much as possible with such old equipment. I can only hope they sell the business to someone who cares again!

I regularly use this laundromat and have enjoyed it even though there hasn’t been a time when all the washers worked. I come because it’s small and not usually crowded. Last week I was there and put my clothes in one washer that didn’t work, no sign. Water came in but it didn’t spin. A nice gentleman tried to help me and at one time it turned but stopped. Since the clothes were wet I put more money in. It still didn’t work so I moved to another washer. Today when I went in I told the lady that works there and she asked why I didn’t call (after 6 on Sunday) or leave a note. I told her I didn’t want to disturb her. She gave me only half the money and when I asked for all of it she became angry and slammed the quarters on the table and didn’t seem to want to work with me. She didn’t handle a simple customer service issue very well

I am here now. Came a week or so ago and was treated fairly but today I told her I would wait my turn to use the smaller machine that she was using for her orders. Went had pizza but patiently waited past 30 minutes after and she didn't get the clothes out. She yells across the room at me out of nowhere can you wash your clothes so the other customers can wash. I'm the only one in here btw but ok. I told her yes I'm still waiting for the small machine ...20 minutes later she goes here. This will be my last time using this launder. And was going to use their dry cleaners but nope I can use my own at the Y that I am a member of instead. I'm a customer too btw SMH Also will not buy another laundry bag it's not sturdy for even a light load

The absolute worst place I have ever in my life done business at. The woman that runs this place is horrible to her customers. She is rude, arrogant, unfriendly and honestly just downright mean. She does not have anything done on time, she over charges - and I mean really over charges ($40 for a hem) and offers no discount or compensation when your items are late. Even, like myself, when you have an important event to go to and have been promised something will be ready on time. She even threatened to throw everything I own away. Please pass this on to anyone you know in Charlotte. I cannot believe this company is still in business! BEWARE!

I don't dread doing laundry as much now when I take my clothes to The Wash House. The inside almost looks like a little bistro , complete with coffee/refreshments, free wifi and music playing in the background. The staff is super friendly (the total opposite of the previous owner). They greet you when you walk in and will out of their way to help you. I was in a huge hurry trying to get to work and managed to jam a triple loader washer w/ quarters. The ladies working that morning saw me in a frenzy and offered to take care of everything, so I could get to work on time. Customer Service at it's finest. Thanks Wash House!

It's a laundromat. The guy is pretty cool. I read the reviews before I came and I still went just to see for myself. Guy was helpful even came over to me at the change machine and helped me out without asking. We talked about my car and all. He even smiled. I watched another customer and he helped put her laundry in her car. He doesn't discriminate not racist none of that. Maybe the others caught him on a bad day or something idk but my experience was good.

I like how easy this places makes getting my clothes dry cleaned. They send me text alerts when my clothes are done and they are able to save my payment information. No more wasted time showing up at the cleaners without knowing if your clothes are ready or not. I'm always pleased with the quality and cost of their work. I also love the fact they are open later into the afternoon for when I get tied up at work. Would definitely recommend.

The woman got angry with me for asking for the 25% first time customer discount, and still overcharged me. There were NEW stains in my dress that she denied. She claimed my dress was “full of stains” (it wasn’t) and charged me for each of these false stains. She also had a Tide coat list in front on her that was much cheaper and said it was for the place down the street…. Overall a terrible experience. Rude and I won’t be going back.

I've only used The Wash House twice so far, but both times have been very good experiences. I'm looking forward to continue using their service weekly-- I just fill a bag of laundry, and for a flat rate they launder my clothes, sheets, etc.. Everything comes back fresh, neatly folded, and wrapped in plastic. The owner, Jeff, is always pleasant and actually carried my clothes out to my car for me and made time for friendly chit chat.

LOST A NEW CUSTOMER. Owner blocked the ONLY 3 parking spots available in parking lot at front door. Here's what happened: I pulled in to a full parking lot to pick up dry cleaning and there was a car parked in three spaces at the front door. There weren't any other spaces so had to wait over 3 minutes for the BMW X5 driver to pull out so I could park, only to find out the unapologetic driver was the owner!

First of all, the guy isn't a racist. I thought he was being rude when I walked up asking about change as well, but after watching several people have the same experience, it was clear that he is pretty deaf. Yell at him and he'll acknowledge you. Otherwise, the laundromat is fairly typical. The dryers are big, but bring dryer sheets to make the clothes smell better after using the old dryers.

Equipment constantly out of order. Wheeled carts to move your laundry from washers to dryers and from dryers to folding tables all but 2 of the 6-8 carts are taken up by the attendant doing dropped off laundry. I hope they have enough money coming in from their wash, dry & fold business, because they are running off some of their regular customers the way they're running their business.

We have been using Lapels for over a few months now and we love this service. The love the pick up and delivery service as well as how great our clothes come back to us. The fact that they use a non-toxic, environmentally friendly process was what made us try them to start. We will definitely continue using them for the great quality of work and would highly recommend them to everyone.

As a newer resident to Charlotte, this was my first dry cleaning experience since living here. The business is very clean, and the job done was to perfection. Jeff the owner is super friendly, and would take the shirt off his back to help out a customer. The service facet is worth paying a little extra to get the job done the right way and to know you are in good hands.

Absolutely fantastic! My husband had so much to do and the attendants were so helpful and caring and understanding! Not only have they just renovated their washers, their dryers don't leave that burned feel of smell to your clothes! Definitely worth every bit of time he spent there and we will be coming back for other big loads! 5 star laundromat at its best!

What can I say? I love it. I'm so glad I found this place. The people are so nice and helpful here. Another dry cleaners/laundry facility recommended The Wash House to me and I'm glad they did. Alka, one of the owners of Lapels, is super friendly and efficient. She really cares about her clients! The dry cleaning is great and our clothes always turn out so nice. Owner is not an honest businessman... There is no conflict of interest.. my now wife was not given the money that she was owed. You cheated her out of it. It looks a little rough around the edges but it's clean, washers do a good job, and the ladies are super nice and very helpful. The cranky "racist" man doesn't own this establishment anymore. The ladies that own it now have plans to update and revamp everything. They also do laundry and dry cleaning for a great price. I will be back!

Great service! After bouncing around a few laundromats in the Charlotte area this has been the best experience by far. They have pick up and drop off service to get your laundry to you without hassle and a friendly, hard-working staff. The young lady at the cashier was particularly pleasant to do business with.

Came today to retrieve my clothes. I had a chance to meet the owner. What an awesome guy. Young, dedicated, professional, and always with a smile on his face. The work that they did on my clothes was great. I would definitely return. I wish more business owners took as much pride in their work as this guy.

Found this spot after church on Sunday. Quiet coin laundry mat, convenient and place was very well maintained. The experience makes it enjoyable washing clothes here. I could walk away and go shopping at the local food lion next door and not fear that my stuff would be taken. I will be back for sure.

The staff was pleasant. My issue was with the facility and availability. Multiple machines are out of order and staff uses ANY open washer for wash/fold services. I tried to get a washer after an attendant took a load out and another attendant swooped in and started another wash.

The self service laundromat had a fire in December and is out of service. The owner has made no effort to make this info public so people don't waste their time coming over. When it's fixed I'll continue taking my business elsewhere given the serious lack of courtesy.

Started off excellent service after my first few visits but then they lost one of my Robert Graham shirts and owner has been unresponsive to my inquires to replace my shirt after 4 months trying.

High capacity washers do not work. There's no attendant onsite, and no one answers either of the phone numbers I called. Wasted my laundry products and my time. Won't happen again.

Managed to knock out all of our comforters and sheets within an hour. Not a bad place, tons of machines. Bring quarters or cash, there is a 4 dollars charge on the atm.
