I tell you what, with all the complaining I hear and see people yapping about when it comes to Metro, CCFR, LVRF, and other emergency staff in the City and County, before you start complaining, cutting them down, and downright disrespecting them, get yourself a smartphone or a tablet, grab a free app that has all the live fire and police dispatching for your area, (it won't be a problem finding one either, there's at least 35 on iTunes and most are free), download it, look up the local police and/or fire, and just listen to how busy all these departments are here. Your not going to understand most of the lingo used, but you will hear all the different calls they go on, and just what they deal with on a minute to minute basis. I happened to hear the Cici's and Walmart shooting/murders a few weeks back. I was on the fire dispatch app, and it was just flat out dangerous what these guys were dealing with. They don't have situations like that every day, but, they deal with all sorts of emergency, dangerous situations all day long that you never ever hear about because either the local news just doesn't hear it dispatched, or there to busy to send out reporters. Could you imagine every day you go to work, knowing your shift is understaffed, the County hasn't helped by hiring new officers in over 4 years, and dealing with this every shift C'mon, before complaining about any of these emergency service workers, or complaining that they make to much money, (that amazes me by the way, I see and hear simpletons say that all the time about Police and Firefighter/Paramedics making way to much money for that easy job), go try it for a day or two, most people would run the other way because there scared, can't stomach the situations they get put in, or be totally discussed by what they just saw, or had to deal with. Before complaining next time, go up and say Hi to one of the officers or firefighters on duty. If there not busy, they always take the time to say hi in return and will answer any questions you might have. I've never had one ignore me ever, unless they were involved in a situation that needed to be dealt with. It's time to start respecting the uniforms in this city instead of constantly complaining about them. They do more for us will we sleep at night them you'll ever know!!!!!

I'm really proud of our Metro Police officers, and the entire law enforcement team here in Las Vegas. They put their lives on the line for us every day, and they have legitimate concern for our citizens. It's really unfortunate that most of our community don't know what these brave men and women have to contend with - day in and day out; and often carry these pressures and burdens home every day. We as members of the Las Vegas community need to greet them, get to know them, encourage them, and most importantly pray for them. Often they have to make split second decisions that can mean life or death - for them, other citizens, and perpetrators of crimes. We need to stand behind them, not challenge them in their critical situation decisions. Political correctness has NO place when it come to support our officers. Once again, I wish to thank you all - for all you do for us, and for our community. May Almighty God protect and bless every member of our LE community, as well as our Fire & Safety Personnel who also put their lives on the line for us daily. A family (the whole family) attacked my then 7 year old son, i stepped in to get him to safety and they attacked my and my one year old. Over 8 people in this family attacking children attempting to take my 1 year old off my chest swinging on them all. My son had marks on him. Attempted to get a restraining order and was told they couldn’t because it wasn’t there jurisdiction, even though it was. This entire system is messed up. Told they can’t do anything about the minors terrorizing my family until there is a gun involved. They have continued to try to break into our home, our car, vandalizing our property and communicating threats. Each time I’m directed to the non-emergency number that is never answered. Told the hold time is “17 minutes” but I’ve been on hold for over two hours straight. Then told to file a report in person only to be turned away because we live on the Henderson line. This is lazy police work who have no clue what to do and don’t care about the community safety. I’ve loved all over the country and this is the worst police department I have ever had to deal with.

This is one of the nicest Police Department's I've ever seen , very very clean. It seems to be a well-oiled machine, there are multiple buildings for different services. Check out the pictures , all of these are public places, obviously I can't and won't post stuff I'm not supposed to, videos to follow and I'll change the review in a little while. I'm here to file a report about my bike being stolen from the front Hotel California November 17th approximately 5 p.m. right from the front door, it should all be on camera and I'm here to see if they can pull the footage , and catch the perpetrator. Because the next thing you know this person will rob a tourist, or knock granny over the head for her purse. It's our responsibilities as Citizens to report crimes like this. The bike was not that expensive but that's not the point. I'm DJB The Las Vegas Gold Picker Ya hear me and so far I give this place I a

I called 911 at 4:00 pm for a robbery on my 10 year old son on 11/08/16 and it's now 6:40 pm. Still waiting on them now. I pray some one comes quick before a lawsuit happens. I would hate to see that. It's now 7:30 pm and 911 said they would be here in 5 minutes and the 18 year old boy-man that robbed the assault my son is setting right in front of me in his friends house. This is a great example of why we should go to a private sector and get LVMPPD out of here. I like how they wright in tge rate&review, trying to apologize but do it nonchalant. Thanks for the great job LVMPPD It's now 9:00 pm and no LVMPPD yet but I'm praying that God gives me Patience and wisdom Through this! I can see down the street that a cop has some one pulled over maybe I'm next or maybe they need to make money tonight and not worry about the well-being of the Community!

Worst police department I've ever dealt with. It's no wonder paddock was able to mow down people for an hour before police stopped him. I had my vehicle stolen, I reported my vehicle stolen (it took the police 16 hours to show up) I ended up being the one to find my vehicle two blocks away from my house. i got in an accident yesterday and the guy drove off, i called police, they said they were on their way, 7 hours later I got a call asking if I still need assistance. The police in this town are lazy and worthless and have 0 respect for them. The one time they have pulled me over the little midget had a one track l mind and that was "I must have heroin" so after 2 hours being detained and searched I was let go. I actually heard him tell his buddy "this is all we can do to him otherwise we violate him it's up to you"

Two of the most outstanding officers to date, sergeant Bradley Walford and officer Lukas Turley! Thank you for showing your selflessness day after day night after night! Had it not been for you two going above and beyond my car may be in a junkyard somewhere being sold for parts! The disgusting individual who stole my car is thankfully behind bars and after seeing the condition my car was found in and after seeing the "disgusting " illegal filth found in my car it's safe to say you did the streets of Las Vegas several justices in just one night with just one case! You were both so kind, so professional and showed just how much you care about the city of Las Vegas and the people in it. Please stay safe and thank you for risking your lives everyday for our safety, freedom and peace of mind.

I'm so upset I forgot this officer's name but when I tell you he made my Sun the happiest little law enforcer. This kid was grinning ear-to-ear telling everyone "Kai is Policeman!" As we were driving down Stewart my son spotted a parked police car. He's been wanting to see one up close, since he has a toy police car. so I flipped a u-turn and pulled over next to the officer, asking would he mind giving a quick tour of his police car. He agreed as he turned on the red and blue lights. He let Kai honk the horn, say "copy" on the loud speaker & to top it off he gave Kai a police sticker making him an honorable lawmen. This kid was ECSTATIC, he even had the nerve to tell me to slow down as we pulled out of the driveway, saying goodbye to a great Metro Policeman. Thank you!

  • Alisson Ramos

Thank you for risking yourselves out there. BUT!!!! do not wear the uniform if your last resort to exercise the law is threatening your citizens in to taking them to jail because your ego was hurt. If you choose to be a police officer is because you have an excellent judgment over right and wrong, that means your judgment shouldn't be bias other wise do not wear the uniform if you assumed that a position in power was going to get you the respect that you deserved when you are not even conscious and fair on how to even exercise it. Expecting an apology from your officer who demonstrated a very unethical and unprofessional attitude towards my family tonight. Was it necessary to put my children and mother in law in unnecessary distress?

Today, my next door neighbor had a meltdown. I was concerned that she was going to kill herself. She kept acting out all day. I took her to a local church that is open 24/7, showed her where she can go to get peace when she needs it. Helped me. I hope it helps here. After that, she began cussing me out and yelling to the neighbors that I was a bad guy. I called LVPD. This is third time I've called them for things I felt they should handle. I never been disappointed. These officers are intelligent, use good judgment, and do what preserves peace and even improves all involved. They cannot predict what they'll face, but LVPD mitigates handles chaos well and I feel safe when they're around. God bless these officers!

  • Amy Armstrong

are you freaking kidding me,,,,, I tell them the man down the street who is on parole for drugs and domestic violence one asked my 9 year old daughter if she wanted a lolly pop a few weeks a go and to day told her to come to his car... they tell me nothing they can do today that I have to go down and make a police report in the morning..... what kind of place did I move to.... I have family back home in the police force and an uncle who is sheriff that would of been out in a heart beat... obviously potential child predators are not priority..... and I only hit one star because I couldn't send this out if I didn't... oh yeah and they don't come out unless its happening now..

  • Courtney Draper

On vacation with the family. Had a rental car that was backed into overnight (hit and run) at our hotel that has cameras everywhere. Filed a police report ( mind you they don't come out to make the report...you have to drive the damaged rental car to the police station to file it.) Oh, and they don't even take pictures of the damage.. Now out $1500 deductible because police won't look at cameras. Takes 10 min at most to collect info from hotel.....They don't investigate hit and runs in Vegas because its on private property...the hotel with cameras property!.....Make this make sense. #I guess hit and runs are a sure thing in Vegas.

  • Rosa Quintero

Sad to say that my truck got stolen on Saturday early morning, but the best experience was that Police found it verry fast, when I arrived to where my truck was found there was two officers both of them were verry nice and informative after signing the report one officer left and the other one stay. Unfortunately I don't know his name but the officer that stay, he was extremely helpfull and nice he stayed with us until we were able to move the truck, THANK YOU LVMPD FOR HAVING SO WANDERFULL PEOPLE THANK YOU AGAIN TO THOSE OFFICERS THAT WERE THERE TO HELP. GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

  • Ellie D

Was very skeptical about coming here due to all the negative reviews, however I came out surprisingly pleased. Someone committed a hit and run against me yesterday and I went to the Customer Service building to file a report. The Sunday morning staff were very polite, especially the young man at the door, and they got me out of there in an hour. The only reason I gave 3 stars is because I hadn't encountered any of the police officers nor did I have a more tedious procedure (such as being fingerprinted), so I can't comment on the department's behavior or speed as a whole.

  • Amy Biggs

Called today 8/08/22 Rude telephone answering people. Not helpful when explaining situation when in fact she most definitely could’ve been. Or at least pointed me in the right direction. Out of towner too. She proceeded to say she had other people in front of her so she can hang up. Like really !? I’m a person too. Just rude and non-chalant, like my problem wasn’t the police departments problem. After I was directed to call by a detective. Idk what their problem is but it definitely wasn’t helpful or problem solving very frustrating talking with them.

  • Turner Visual

They take ten days for an accident ray Charles could have figured out.i call one day Nd was told the accident report was there but wasn’t finished.like I’m so confused who run the records because they aren’t doing a good job.also the run in with some of the officers wasn’t pleasant was told to shut up by officer badge number 175555 a sergeant was called to the scene and laugh at my face when told why can his officers can act so unprofessional very disrespectful cops making it hard to give any cop respect

  • Aaron Rasmussen

I arrived early for an appointment and they let the people i was in line with in and made me wait outside in the hot sun with my 1 year old because I needed to wait for my appointment, and wouldn't allow me to go in earlier, even though I'd been in line. I feel the time you get there should trump the appointment time. She said I could come in 15 minutes before my appointment. They let all the other appointments in 15 minutes early and made me wait outside an extra 5 minutes, until 10 minutes before.

  • Miranda Lee

Day 1 Sherrifs card took from 11am didn't leave until 445pm. Lots of gossip about other employees and I think that the public doesn't need to hear about. Came in Day 2 for background check at 9 am and still here at 1:15pm. Only 6 windows open out of 14. This is really unprofessional and inconsiderate coming from the LVMPD. Please coach your staff to do their jobs efficiently so that less time can be spent in the waiting room (especially when you have kids and have to sit there for 5 hours!!!!!! )

  • Mallory Lopez

Should think about teaching officers how to read insurance cards properly. I was told that my insurance was expired even though I pulled it directly from my provider's website, I was so confused and asked them how is it expired when it doesn't expire for another 4 months. They read the date wrong, then tried to tell me I didn't show them that insurance before which is bs because it was literally the same page. Officer went off on a tangent before this telling me they could tow my car yeah okay.

  • #EZRAMOM

First time here the lady was actually kind and decently friendly second time I come today and the representative has a attitude for days in the reports pick up. Best of luck with the process of the mistakes for the view to explain to them about the situation when it comes to the requests you need. Make sure to use a desk top view instead of the phone the coordination and detail of the information and data is not the same which should be presented and update to avoid matters like these

  • charley tisdale

this comment is about The Sheriff's Dept. (problem with speeding cars in my neighborhood). Called Metro 1st, then the Mayor's office 2nd, then on a whim called the Sheriff. When I told woman who answered what I needed this is what she said Quote: "Oh, you callin Sheriff office now". I said yes, I know I am. Could not believe it, a city employee. Her tone of voice was surly, like why are you calling us ???. can't staff that answer incoming calls use proper English ?

Aloha To LAS VEGAS METROPOLITAN POLICE DEPARTMENT!! Was great Stopping to talk with you about your new MARIJUANA LAWS. As I told you, on THANKSGIVING I was at GOLDEN NUGGET DOWNTOWN for dinner and a shop called Viva Vegas at 31 Fremont selling joints, vaping and MARIJUANA telling your Tourists that they could smoke ANYWHERE at Fremont Experience. Recently had a CCW finger printing requirement, from the initial greeting by officers to the conclusion of the business of the fingerprint activity. The entire department operation was outstanding in customer service and service. Personnel concerns for customer concerns were second to none. Many thanks for taking care of our community. The treatment of assistance to handicap people is above and beyond the basic services.

  • Diana Matienzo

I keep seeing horrible comments about how this place is worse than the DMV, and I totally disagree! They are very busy and have a high volume of people, but my experience was very efficient an positive! I went in to get my Sheriff's Card and parked at 8:01am and when I walled in, it was already packed. However, for the whole process, I was out of there by 9:15am. I thought everyone did a great job and was very friendly

  • Beau Caldwell

corrupt officers, refused to take a police report for a stolen vehicle because the suspect was a former police officer, they were covering for their own. tried to bully me into not pressing charges or filing civil suit, but won't work. If metro wont enforce the law then AI will get involved. Police procedures not followed and special privileges given. I used to stand up for police out here but no more...

  • Tracey Jones

I had an issue; however it was further investigated. Kudos to Sgt. Reyes! However, I wasn't pleased with the outcome but they did follow through. They tried; but the public should know that you have a right to file a written complaint against any law enforcement personnel not just the uniformed ones. However, internal affairs is not comfortable investigating their own... I'll leave it at that!

  • Ran Dy

This place is a joke a police broke my phone went through this total process where the officer clearly states that they broke my phone that was back in Jan feb of 2019 it is now April still no phone or payment. I’m very upset and looking to furthering charges for wrongfully arrest Nd damage to property. I have sent back the affidavit ten plus days ago and I have nothing.

  • Cj The one

There is usually a line so expect to wait. Come on your day off only even if you make an appointment. You’ll wait in line to get a number to wait to be seen. The system seem to be if you are filing some type of report then you wait inside. For everything else you wait outside but I’m not sure about that...I got here around 1:30pm by 3:08pm I still haven’t been seen.

  • Krissy C

I’m usually very patient if I need to wait even a few hours but seriously! If all the employees decided they were going to take an hour lunch with a room full of people to help and don’t say anything!?!? Then that’s when I get frustrated. They could’ve at least take their break in shifts rather than all at the same time. It literally looks like they all went home!!!

  • Laurel T

I know people who go and wait hours. While handling business there, they need to open finger printing up and allow people to do everything in different orders. Not just paperwork first. If people are there, let them squash everything in any order. Yall need a vending machine inside. Making money on those who wait for services.

  • Jimry Yagao

If I give a 0 star would. Out of all people i get the trainee and was incompetent. She got up and left the window several times as i tried to complet my CCW application. Her manager finally showed up and corrected the sittuation but did not update me as to what was going on. No customer service what so ever at this location.

  • Josh Freeman

I came in at 9:20 am to get a sheriff's card for work, and here it is 3:00 pm, and have just gotten it. What were they doing? You think they'd want to get people out of here asap, but they don't care if you have to wait 6 hours. Do yourself a favor, make an appointment online so you don't have to wait all damn day.

  • kayan hung

Horrible waiting time if you don't make an appointment. They said it would be about an hour and a half wait so I decided to stay and here we are 2 and a half hours later and I still haven't gotten called. Avoid coming in from 2:30 to 3:30 because they "change shift" so there are only 4 employees working.

  • Andrew Kaplan

I was arrested by officer Lopez, he put the handcuffs on very gently and even said they looked good on me (I agree) he was very polite and courteous and patted me down very carefully. 10/10 would recommend. Only thing to gripe about was the uncomfortable seat but that's nit picking so 1 star lost there.

  • Anita Smith

I called 7 times’! Get put on hold after waiting 15 minutes it hangs up!! It’s terrible and out dated and trying to find someone to complain to is impossible! I am still trying to find someone to help me and I been trying for over a hour and half! I’m taking to the Mayor office as soon as I can..

  • Loria Cooper

I have a cousin living in Las Vegas that has nothing but crappy experiences over the last 2 days and the police didn't even help her with her situation. She had part of her foot amputated. She cannot get anyone to help get those drug addicts out of her house. And they stole her checks and money.

  • Frank

I set an appointment just to be told to sit in the lobby with a number. So what exactly is the point of setting an appointment?? I've sat in the lobby for more that 2 hours and still haven't been seen. These people are lost. Have no clue what they're doing. Expect a very long wait. Very long.

  • Michael Beckelheimer

Truly the definition of a sorry ass police department and these gentleman make a conscious decision to become police officers. Lol. I Do not feel sorry for any of them. Especially the ones that are obviously compensating for something. Sorry you got made fun of in high school buddy.

  • All Things Karina

You have to plan your day around this office. We got there when they opened. 20 ahead of us and one hour and a half later they had only called two persons. Now is 3 hours later and we are not even half way. Worse service ever. This reminds me of the cartoon Zootopia the DMV scene.

  • Lyle Hancock

Just went to the fingerprint department for my ccw renewal. The staff was very polite, nice and professional. I was in and out in an hour including paperwork, photos and fingerprints. I really appreciated it. I was worried how long it would take but it was a breeze.

  • The Appliance Guru

I went in for my ccw. I made an appointment months ahead. The employees were all really nice and professional they were extremely helpful. Nothing like California, the system was organized, they took people that had appointments first. I was in and out in an hour.

I was in an accident today and POLICE OFFICER C. URENA needs to be fired. Has a cocky attitude and thinks an accident is funny. Proceeded to laugh at my side of the story and did not have respectful manners or take the situation seriously. Horrible officer.

  • Ixath

You thought DMV was bad.. This place makes DMV look like a Jimmy John's. I drove here from Tucson and I spent about as much time sitting here waiting for service as I did driving here from out of town. Understaffed. Slow. Holy cow this is ridiculous.

  • P Marzipan

I made an appointment and checked in 15 minutes early. I waited in my car for the text that says my number is close to being called (like I have done the last 3 times I've been here). I waited for an hour (which is standard here) and went

Had a trespasser that actually hit my coworker and tried to pull a weapon on him. When we called, we were told bc it wasn't in their jurisdiction and on private property they weren't going to do anything and to call Clark County police.

  • Ande Anderson

Would have given a 4 star positive review however, the fingerprint department is the reason for my 2 star rating. The "lady" that took my fingerprints should do something else for employment. This individual is condescending, rude,

  • alex army

I dont trust them Poor attitude and i would not trust them protecting my kids or my life they need lot of training cause i watch Them choking someone on YouTube so id stay way from theses officers more like dummy with badges.

  • Gina DAmore

To Protect and To Serve they are NOT. My parent's were robbed and it took them 23 hours, 5 phone calls, and a formal complaint for them to mosey there way over there. Once they got there they seemed bored and inconvenienced.

  • 김사라

They are the slowest workers that I have ever seen. They are not considerate of others' times and manage to joke around with their coworkers. They need to work on their work efficiency. People are always fighting with time.

  • Russ M

Professional and friendly went for my CCW renewal even let me smile in my mugshot. All three ladies I encountered were polite and friendly. Went in at 7:00 a.m. was done and out the door by 7:34 a.m. with no appointment.

  • Christian Marin

One of the most diverse departments in the nation and with funding and training, crime is able to go down in numbers due to proper policing by the direction of LVMPD, fellow neighbor departments, and sheriff Lombardo.

  • rzv rzv

Same as the DMV. You waste half your day for something that could have been done online if they wanted to join us in the 21st century and update their system. Their ticketing/service system is absolutely chaotic.

  • peachpourla

Fast and efficient as long as you've come prepared. They will turn you away if you slow down the line. I've heard that if you book an appointment it goes by faster. …

  • Hasan Erdim Ateslier

I would've given zero stars but there is no option for that, no transparency, no accountability, no respect for the People and or U.S. Constitution, just a bunch of blue line gangsters who cover for each other !

  • Reesicup 0815

It used to be fairly quick ordering reports/records. . . But now, it takes hours and hours, which I dont understand because the records/fingerprint area is pretty small (like the size of a small bank branch).

  • Kiflom Haile

Personally I don't have any problem with the police force. However, doing business is the last thing in the earth. They need to learn a lot from DMV, instead of wasting public time and maybe their own. Thanks

Whoa! This place is so bad and terrible, waiting area stinks and there's no hand sanitizer. Crowd control is bad, cops are receptionist and worst of all, waiting time is 3+ hours for a work card

  • Justin Lemay

So tell me, what’s the point in having an appointment if you don’t abide by them? At least give a heads up when I’m selecting an appointment time that it’s give or take 40+ mins just to be called.

Truly the dirtiest and most incompetent police department in the country. The LVMPD routinely lies on police reports and makes video disappear. This department is wildly corrupt.

  • shyboi

i love the outside of the building and i am hoping to be a cop one day because they inspire me and i always feel safe at a police station knowing no one can hurt me there either

  • Jack Guasta

Waited 30 minutes just to get a number, then was told "we don't give wait times, but it'll probably be over 2 hours." Simply unacceptable - they need to figure out a better way.

  • Tenace Crane

In and out in 15 minutes. Just get there 30-45 minutes before opening and you’ll save hours upon hours of waiting. Great and quick service and very helpful and respectful staff.

  • Jesse

I was raised here in Las Vegas and now after a 15 year absence due to military obligations the customer service on and off the street is top notch. Its all about respect.

Fast service, clean building. Professional employees. Took reports quickly but thoroughly. Of course criminals are gonna 1 star a police building out of principle.

  • Carlos Casillas (CarlosCasillasTV)
