I cannot find the words to express my gratitude for all the care and treatment of all my animals that have received treatment over the years, and there have been a few. Sadly and more recently, one the 21st 10 2022 Tilly aged 13 3/4, a much loved and faithful friend was put to sleep. RIP TILLY. X The only difficult experience I encountered was during the pandemic (social distancing was still in place, which I totally appreciate) when I was not able to hold my beloved Peggy during her final journey. I knew that this was a strong possibility due to her failing health and that I would more than likely be leaving without her. However The look of sheer terror in her eyes will haunt me for the rest of my life as she sat on a table and I sat in a chair several feet away from her. I like to think our bond was so strong, I knew what she was thinking and that she was terrified that I wasn't by her side. I told the Vet to stop and that I wanted to take her home and find a vet that would let me hold her or have her put to sleep at home. The vet was a little abrupt in her manor but ensued I had enough medication for a month for Peggy and said that If I was not able to find a vet then I was to get in touch with them. Peggy was put to sleep at home on the 15.4.2021 and was sister to Tilly. This is something that the PDSA could not have done any differently during this time and I still have great respect for all that they do. Thank you PDSA for your dedication. Peggy is on the red carpet and Tilly on the settee. RIP girls. XX

So very greatful that there are places such as the PDSA (York Road). I have needed there help on a few occasions over the years and I cannot praise or thank them enough, for all they do. Recently I had to take Peggy (pictured below) who has for years, listened to me patiently when I had no one to talk to, given me comfort and loved me unconditionally as I have laughed, cried , ranted and raved, and all without judgement. I know she has breast cancer. Plenty of TLC. She's my angel and I dread to think of my life without her there. Like me she is no spring chicken, and had began to struggle to get up and walk, she could no longer jump up onto the sofa or my bed. Her back end would suddenly give way. Me thinking the worst, but not wanting her to suffer unesecerily took her with trepidation and fear that I'd be leaving without her. Had my mind put at ease very quickly. PHEW is an understatement. The cancer isn't currently wide spread or causing her pain. She's been diagnosed with arthritis and has been prescribed daily pain relief medicine (which, by her reaction when I'm giving it tastes very nasty). But I am happy to say and sure Peggy is too, that she appears to be pain free and has got a bit of a spring back. Not quite able to jump onto the bed yet but the sofas a doddle. SO THANKYOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART TO EVERYBODY WHO WORKS IN OR VOULENTEERS IN PDSA'S ALL OVER THE COUNTRY. YOU'RE ALL ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL, FABULOUS AND I HOPE YOU KNOW IT.

I can't thank the staff at the pdsa today (1.8.22) enough for everything they did for me and my best friend at his final hour .I couldn't of wished for them to be more caring for myself or my dog they went above and beyond to make sure he was as comfortable as possible and they was so kind to make sure I was OK. I didn't catch the 2 ladies names who I saw today but they was both realy kind and careing I will be for ever grateful of what they did for not just my dog but me .and to be fair all the staff I spoke to was very friendly and helpful. I would urge anyone who can afford even just a couple of pounds to donate to this wonderful charity because it needs all the help it can get I would just like to say once again thankyou so much eternally grateful

My 4 month old kitten had an infected eye .. one of his siblings (2 brothers and 1 sister) must have accidentally 'caught him' right in his eye with their claw! Took him to PDSA that day (Tuesday) .. They booked me in for him to have his eye removed on the Friday that week, (but gave him painkillers .. unfortunately, as there was nothing they could do for his eye) Apart from the initial £20 when I took him in, after that it was a 'donation' for the PDSA .. I made a generous donation, as the cost if I had gone to a 'private' vet, it would have cost me over £400! I cannot express enough how grateful if am that the PDSA were there to help my boy

I unfortunately had to use the pdsa at Bradford on a weekend emergency, my 17 month old Labrador was taken really ill and completely immobile due to suspected MG. The staff was so so kind, I was distraught, the let me lay on the floor with him looking at me, he was so ill, they put him to sleep and made arrangements for his body to be taken for individual cremation, I paid the cremation place direct for his ashes. At the most traumatic time I found them so kind and open and honest about Eddie's future.. Yes I recommend them. Thank you xx RIP my beautul kind Eddie

I am giving pdsa 5* because they really do deserve it. I took my poorly kitty to vets and the staff were so friendly, sadly I had to have my kitty go to heaven but if it wasn't for the ladies who helped her, my kitty would of died by weekend, they were so kind, I asked if I could take some of her fur home with me and they put some in a bag for me, as well as prints of her paws and face, I honestly can't thank these vet nurses enough for their help, I am in process of having my cat cremated with the help of pdsa. Thank you at pdsa for your support.

To be honest this is the worst experience I've had with the leeds department, the lady on the desk with glasses on and dark hair is absolutely rude and should not be aloud to be a receptionist, she spoke to my mother like rubbish at a time like this and then also spoke to other people the same way. There was no apology or anything,I'm writing a formal complaint about her tomorrow soon as I've been in and got her name as I also video the conversation with my telephone ..be aware people don't send elders in on they're own

  • Helen

I had a telephone consultation and was very happy with the advice and support. The vet I spoke to was wonderful and couldn't have been more helpful. She took time to listen and also took time to give advice, explaining everything very clearly. Then, she sent the medication through the post. Fantastic place, I can't thank you enough. I highly recommend this this place and hope everyone contributes what they can to keep this wonderful place available to give help to our faithful companions when it's needed most!!!

After the recent death of my mother, we wanted to ensure that her gorgeous little dog Millie continued to have a good loving home. Millie has mobility issues and we decided to see if the PDSA could help her. Unfortunately, the help which Millie needs wasn't available at the PDSA, which we accepted. However, the problem we had was with the administrator/ vet assistant who talked to us throughout in an abrasive manner and we just really seemed to be an inconvenience to her. It was a very unpleasant experience.

I had to make the hardest decision of my life and have my dog put to sleep 2 days ago. The vets at PDSA were amazing and this was my first time using them after having my beloved dog for 10 years. They completely took their time with the procedure, let me have plenty of alone time with her and time to say my final goodbye as well as after she was gone. How they treated and spoke to you just made you feel so at ease, so gentle and friendly throughout. I couldn’t thank them enough for their service

  • Joanne Horn

Luckily this is the first time I have needed to take my pet. I had to wait nearly an hour to get through on the phone, understandably with all that's happening. Once I got through the receptionist was fantastic, very reassuring and able to arrange for my dog to be seen within 20mins. Once we arrived we weren't waiting long and when seen the vet and nurse were very reassuring. The plan for treatment was well explained and I felt reassured.

My beautiful Foxy Roxy was put to sleep on 28th Sept age 10yrs (70yrs in human) due to her health deteriorating, I want to thankyou to all the staffs at PDSA Leeds for their hard work and making sure we was okay and we've made our decision to let her go! We have our box , fur and a ashes box that arrived to our home and placed in front of our fireplace with some candles and photos of Roxy Once again , Thank-you

Took my cat here as he was skinny 1st vet said liver failure put him down, luckily didn't take advice! I gave them a urine sample the next day and saw a better vet who told us he has over active thyroid!, Another time recently I got emergency advice because another one of my cats bloated suddenly they told me put her on dry diet chicken etc went else where she was diagnosed with lymphoma!!

Brilliant place the staff are amazing and compassionate. They ask for a small donation usually ask to pay 25% if you can but if you cannot a donation is fine. Government should help with funding and if I won lotto I'd definitely give generously. My dogs were put to sleep there the staff was friendly and compassionate even though I was crying my eyes out. Brilliant place

  • Victoria Ross

Amazing staff, friendly, caring and do anything they can fro you and your pet. Unfortunately my male cat was hit by a car and was in a bad was. They still tried to see if they could save him but he was too injured. They were so sympathetic and even after closing time they let me stay with him until I was ready to say goodbye. Honestly they are amazing!

  • Joanne Wright

Excellent service i called for advice as my little dog was very poorly and needed treatment. Mostly dealt with on the phone and sent I pictures to be assessed. I had an appointment within 24 hours. My dog has made a full recovery and is back barking a a big dog again as it has its walk. Fully value the service and would recommend in the future.

  • Zaff Iqbal

Very busy place. Receptionist and veterinary personnel are lovely and seem to really care about animals unlike some other vets in the Leeds area that just want to make money and don't seem to give the animals proper time. My experience here is very good. Explained problem, treatment, aftercare and all with a smile. Thanks. You do a great job.

  • Jackie Hutchinson

Every visit, even the not so great ones (like losing a much loved & cherished pet) the PDSA has been there for us. I couldn't have wished for a better experience. The PDSA are the vets all vets should aspire to be like. Your much loved pets are in safe hands at the PDSA! ×x :)

Big joke this place can't get thought on the phone and demand money off people would not use again the people would work there have no idea on what there doing did not even look touch my dog just looked at him and boom there want 100 pound for nowt

  • Mark Atkinson

Pain in the butt getting an appointment and considering it's supposed to be a charity with a "pay if you can afford it" scheme but they make it so you're forced to donate unless you want humiliating in front of everyone by the receptionist

  • Adam Hennigan

Absolutely amazing staff! I am eligible for low cost vet care if it weren't for the outstanding job the ladies & gents that work at the pdsa my dog would not have been seen for a while. I cannot stress how thankful I am! legends!!! …

  • andy skilbeck

They treated my dog for the wrong things which then made it deterate over a time till there was nothing that could be done so it progressed in stuffing and in the end had to be put to sleep each vet there had a different opinion

  • Carol Ainsworth

My cat jaffa was ill the PDSA were amazing and so kind, we had to put jaffa to sleep they did every thing they could for her and charged me nothing i made a donation as they need all the help they can get.

  • David Tempest

They are caring and give you every help they can. That's why people should give what they can when taking there pets to them. Me for one thinks it's right that they charge the £20 to talk to them.

  • sharon mcphail

  • hayley carter

Took my cat here as exhausted my finances with private vets. They are very busy which is understandable but cared for my cat way better than vets for pets which was 3 times the price

  • Mailea Rambeiri

Sadly lost our beautiful cat there. Unfortunately for me and any cats going there it always smelled strongly like wet dog, which can't help any cat feel comfortable at their visit.

  • Katy Wilson
