I’m writing this review but I did not actually go to the bakery, I was gifted this item from somebody else. I will say that from the time I receive the notification that it was on its way until it got here the delivery service was very prompt and I’m only what 7 or 8 states away. The chocolate cookie was amazing! First of all this thing weighs like a metric ton it feels like. Full of chocolate full of flavor just an absolute overload of chocolate which is exactly what I wanted. The chocolate peanut butter oh my god how could it be any better than that huge pile of peanut butter in the center of it. The chocolate chip cookie was phenomenal! Just a wonderful cookie they have done it right, they know how to do it! These cookies for delivery are amazing. I will say this usually I do not like oatmeal raisin but I even ate this one I was not letting one crumb go to waste from this cookie box. The next time I go to New York I cannot wait to try them fresh.

I used to get choc chip cookies from this store. I like that they’re crisp on the outside and gooey inside but just way too sweet. Typical American cookie. I went to the LIC factory to pick up an order of the vegan GF choc chip cookie recently to try out. I was able to get inside the building and factory. I saw mounds of cookie dough on the tables and carts. What grossed me out was that the factory workers (men and women) were weighing and shaping the cookie dough by hand. No cookie scoop even. I really thought that this was done by machine? What cleaning and sanitation procedures do you have in place? I am reluctant to buy any more cookies from Levain after this.YIKES! Just like Edward Munch’s “The Scream” painting. The Good Batch has a nice vegan GF cookie, not too sweet, except it is way too small. Maybe I should just make my own cookies.

I am an avid home baker, and knowing my passion for cookies in particular, my friend brought me a Levain chocolate chip walnut cookie all the way from New York!!! (I live in Canada!) This was a simple, classic cookie executed to perfection. I enjoyed it as directed on the Levain cookie care card: I warmed it up in my oven for a few minutes, and the cookie, though a little over a day old by the time I got to it, was beautifully crisp on the outside and tender, sticky and gooey inside! The walnuts and chocolate chips were a perfect complement to each other, and while I personally prefer a less sweet cookie dough, the flavours in this cookie were undeniably well-balanced. And of course, this cookie was characteristically enormous. A full meal worth of cookie, as it were... though that didn't stop me from finishing the whole thing in one sitting, with some milk tea, shortly after dinner!

This is probably one of the best cookie that I’ve tasted in New York and I can appreciate how they start with very small shop in the basement, the cookies itself are very fresh and crunchy in the outside, but have a gooey texture halfway when you bite it. It’s so good! The dark chocolate with peanut butter would be my favourite because it just melts in your mouth, I like the way the shop is decorated too! Would be come back for this and hope this bakery open in Australia one day!

These cookies are quite popular and came highly recommended by several people. We were worried about how long the line would be, but it wasn't bad. There were maybe 10 people ahead of us and we only had to wait about 5 minutes. It's a very small place and very crowded inside. There is a small counter you can eat at but no chairs. They only have 4 flavors of cookies. Since I don't like chocolate, the only one I could get was oatmeal raisin. My dad makes my favorite oatmeal raisin cookie. I've never had one that comes close the being as good but this one did. The raisins were moist. The cookie was crunchy on the outside and gooey on the inside. It was a fat cookie. If you like their flavors, I definitely recommend coming here.

  • A.

Tldr; a good solid warm cookie to go - small location, a bit of a hazard to get in. cramped when inside tho ): - good value for $5, really get your money's worth and tasty! - staff were friendly and gave good recs and went beyond to store cookie for a friend back home - too sweet for my taste, but not so sweet it made it hard to eat. I'd recommend it for cookie lovers and cravings, but not the most amazing dessert.

I must be missing something here. The cookies here are so supposed to be life changing. I give them points for fresh, well made, texturally pleasing, hefty sized “cookie.” I tried all four varieties available. The best balance of flavor was the chocolate peanut butter. The oatmeal raisin was so bland. Some people reviewed how wonderful it was and how they could taste the cinnamon. I think they forgot the cinnamon. The chocolate walnut was just ok. The line was short, ordered and had my cookies in hand in 10 min around 2pm on a weekday. Their trash was overflowing. If you are not the occasional baker and want a cookie fix, and enjoy scone-like cookies, this is the place for you.

  • Myriam Ward

It’s a very tasty cookie, but not the best in the world. Levain’s claim to fame is their chocolate walnut cookie. The cookies aren’t cheap, but they are absolutely massive. The cookies are super fresh: they are constantly baking new batches which is great. You can see them take fresh ones out of the oven, as you wait in the queue for your turn. As for the cookie itself: it’s warm, crispy on the outside, and moist and buttery on the inside. The chocolate inside is nice and melted and the nuts bring a good texture. I personally found the cookie a bit too sweet: a pinch of sea salt would have been great for example to cut through the richness.

  • Sawako Y

My friends and I have been debating the best cookie in NYC and we have come to the conclusion that Levain Bakery has the best chocolate chip cookies. Their most famous is the Chocolate Chip Walnut, but my personal favorite is the Two Chip Chocolate Chip cookie. The cookie is firm on the outside and soft on the inside, with chocolate chips melting in your mouth. This original location is very small inside and often has long lines outside. So I prefer going to the Amsterdam location, which is newer, more spacious and faster. I do like to stop by here when there aren’t any lines, though. If you’ve never tried it, this is a must-try!

  • H L

Best cookies anywhere! Currently they are offering a holiday chocolate peppermint cookie, and there was quite a line when I went last Sunday afternoon. However, don’t let that deter you, there is a bench if you’re with someone who wants to sit and wait outside (the shop is teeny tiny and down a little steep flight of stairs.) A friendly staff member controlled the traffic going in, and I don’t think I had to wait longer than 5 minutes. I got a bunch of cookies to send to my family in the Midwest, so I’m hoping they hold up in the mail. Can’t wait to hear what they think of them!

  • Jeremías Padilla

Great little bakery with some of the most amazing cookies ever. Levain Bakery has built quite a reputation over the years and it's not in vain. In spite of the small place and the long queue, once you reach that counter and taste those mouth-watering cookies you'll see it's all worth the while. I only visited the store located in 74th Street but I've heard they added a new location which may mean shorter wait or maybe more sitting space. In any case, you can take away and enjoy in any of the neighbouring parks. An obligated stop if you're in the area.

  • nimisha arora

Levain cookies are a must try when in NYC! Their cookies are crispy on the outside, gooey in the inside and they are constantly baking fresh cookies throughout the day, whatever the time of the day you will get fresh cookies! A great selection of other pastries and muffins too! I’d probably like a little less sugar however that’s a personal choice ! Our top favourites were choco chip walnut cookie and the dark chocolate chip cookie! There’s a good amount of choc chip in the cookies as compared to other cookies we have eaten at different places!

  • Hoa Duong

Such a heavenly feeling to have a mouthful bite of these warm, richly sweet, luxurious cookies especially in cold weathers. The ratio of chips, raisins, nuts are just right. The cookies look like a huge blob of brownies but the texture is lighter and more crumbly. I don't know if they really use levain in the dough, this is very difficult to tell. I deducted one star for the disappointing hot chocolate. It has too much milk and the flavor falls flat. It is claimed as Valhorna but I can't tell because the taste of milk was too overwhelming.

  • Kelsey Butler

I first tried Levain cookies about 5 years ago and didn’t understand how there could be so much hype for a cookie (and I do love cookies). Then I got it. The crispy exterior, soft and goey, melt in your mouth middle is just perfect. Not to mention I don’t like baked goods with nuts in them and this cookie is the exception. I legit craved these cookies for two years during Covid and couldn’t wait to get back to NYC to have them again. Excellent customer service every time I go and great price point. Their new Two chip is great!

  • Veronica Phua

Totally deserving of its popularity and fame, the cookies here are large, thick and chunky. We ordered the “Dark Chocolate Chocolate Chip” and the “Chocolate Chip Walnut”. If you are a chocoholic, the former is a must-have. Once your teeth breaks through the very thin layer crunchiness on the outside, your mouth will be met by fantastically gooeyness from the melted chips within. The latter is also very enjoyabke with an added bonus of fragrance from the nut. A visit here is vital for all who love cookies.

  • Marijn De Vries Hoogerwerff (m4rinos)

Superb cookies. Just a small selection, but I like it that way. Gimme some great cookie and a good espresso and you got a new friend in me! The original place is very cute but always packed and a huge line outside, but just a small walk up the street and they have another store. It's bigger, yes a bit less cute, but the lines are much more manageable. And with just a little wait you'll have a cookie that has just the right crunch, softness and chewyness to make all your problems disappear...for the moment.

  • Celine

The world-famous cookies were of course delicious, but not quite as good as I expected. While I am definitely a huge chocolate lover, I found that the cookies were in fact too chocolatey! I had ordered the double chocolate chip cookie which I had of course expected to contain a lot of chocolate, but it was about 70% chocolate and 30% cookie which didn’t taste quite right. I went back to try a regular chocolate chip with walnut, which I still found didn’t have the right ratio of cookie batter to chocolate.

  • Mia Santiago

It’s my very first time in New York and I really want these cookies since 5 years ago I was just copying recipes to get the taste of it. Today I came in, I said good morning very excited none of them even greeted. They even got my order wrong, good thing I checked. They apologized and fixed but only one who smiled is one guy. I didn’t expect my first experience to be like this. I know everyone is working hard, but it’s just right to give customers a good experience. Thank you for the best cookies though.

  • Monica Fontet

I meannnn…. Why wouldn’t you rate this 5-star ? The cookies are just perfect. I don’t know what else to say !! We tried three different ones and all of them super tasty, perfect texture! So good that we had to take some and bring it back to our country !

Best cookies I've had in New York City. I can't say anything about the other baked goods Levain offers but you have to try their cookies. They taste amazing, are huge and the consistency is just perfect. Gooey in the middle and crunchy on the outside. To be honest the seasonal fall flavour did not quite meet my expectations but I can recommend all of the regular flavors. The shop is busy most of the time but the line moves quick. The store is tiny but very lovely and I like the atmosphere

  • Łukasz Karwowski

Great cookies! Although I leave NY its taste will remain for me as the sweet taste of NY. - peanut butter: good, but a little bit too "heavy". After eating whole cookie I felt it was too much. It is good to split and eat it in halfs. - oatmeal with raisins: perfect! Less sweety, but still tasty. Oat gives additional taste. - chocolate with walnuts: also perfect! I recommend asking for freshly baked cake, in which chocolate is still melting. This taste will remain with me for a long time!

  • Marco Espinosa

Great bakery with reasonable prices for their popularity. - Chocolate/Walnut cookie are delicious! Nice outside with a soft inside. GET SOME! - Blueberry muffins are very tasty with fresh berries - Raspberry Bomboloncini was okay, a 3/5. I’d recommend you get other items. The line was relatively short when we went ~9:30am. So if you can avoid the early morning rush you’ll probably be in and out in a jiffy. Parking is easy to get if you drove in. Otherwise pretty close to subway stops.

  • Ebram Sherif

5/5. I have never been so wrong in my life. I arrived to NYC in the evening and the first thing I did was to walk to Levain. Its 7pm and I thought I’d be getting the left overs and oh boy I was so wrong. These were the freshest cookies I have had in my entire life! The chocolate was so melty, the insides were gooey and the exterior was crispy giving you that crunch texture with the soft inside. It was a battle of textures and flavors. Do yourself a favor and grab a cookie from there

  • Zachary Zhu

Stellar baked goods with a warm and inviting atmosphere. Personal favorite: chocolate chip walnut but honestly you can’t go wrong with any of them. This is the original location—so you better expect a line especially if you go during the afternoon on the weekends. A true staple of NYC for good reason

MUST TRY. If you have not tried, you should. My go to is their Two Chip Cookie! Crispy on the outside, softy and oozing with chocolate on the inside. I’m not a big fan of cookies in general but I make the exception here. Also for the size and quality of the cookie, I think $5 per cookie is reasonable.

The cookies are great and melt in your mouth ... But they are only good for eating fresh while the chocolate inside them is warm. Once it goes cold, it's still good but not as good as the fresh ones. The place however is extremely small with very little space to stand and eat. But the turnaround is pretty fast so you only have to wait a few minutes. As you're wait the warm aroma of freshly baked cookies prepares you for the ultimate chocolate treat :) Highly recommended.

  • Liseli P.

Smells like shortbread when you walk in - its all the delicious butter they use. The cookies are massive - the oatmeal raisin is like a meal. This is a different location than the one we usually go to. At this location, you have to go down a few steps. The store itself is very small - its basically a counter - there are no seats inside. You get your baked treat, your coffee and you can either go home or to the park. The subway station (1 train) is 2 blocks away.

  • Jully Pilco

I like the place, the decoration is minimalist and make you feel that you are in a small owned bakery. I didn't try the cookies instead I decided for something else the raspberry bomboline and a flat bread. The bomboline was lacking of filling and I didn't know the dough was going to be sourdough. The flat bread was ok a bit to salty. What I really didn't like was the customer service they rushed me to take my order even when it was just me at the time.

  • Julia Trost

Omg I will be dreaming about these cookies forever… so so good! Warm, gooey, moist but crunchy. 10/10. We ordered a few and ate them over a few days, and they were still delicious despite not being able to heat them up again (as recommended). Went to 2 different locations whilst in New York and loved both.

This is a delicious cookie. There's no way you eat this and don't agree. Is it the best cookie in the world? Only if you like undercooked dough, which I happen to love. The outside is crispy. Almost too crispy, but just right. The inside is moist and intentionally undercooked. And amazing. I'll be back for sure. Protip: share one with someone if you like fitting in to your clothes -- they're about 850 calories by my estimate :)

  • Nancy Merrill

I loved their baked goods but I felt so rushed and the older woman was so impatient! I had to hurry and choose! I felt like I was in a Seinfeld episode!! But the double Choco chip cookie was awesome! And huge! The blueberry muffin was Devine! We would go again, but expect a line again. I just hope I’m not rushed and they stay polite to their patrons.

Been here quite a few times and have tried delivery too. Honestly, I think they have the best cookies I've ever had in my life. I don't typically oatmeal raisin cookies but even those are amazing over here. All the chocolate chip cookies are amazing with the double chocolate chocolate chip being my absolute favorite! Would highly highly rec to any tourists or NYC residents - this is a must visit spot if you're in town!

There is always a line here so just give in and wait for your cookies. Lol. Bring someone with you for company while you wait. Seriously, it actually moves fairly quickly and the giant cookies are worth the wait. One cookie is like a full dessert, shareable and filled with chocolate and nuts. Get a bunch packaged in a nice box and you’ve got a winning host gift. So good! My personal fav is oatmeal.

  • Jeffrey Zheng

Delicious tasting MASSIVE cookies. I thought I could eat 2 for dessert one evening but I was wrong. One of the chocolate chip walnut cookies put me in a coma and I had to save the second for breakfast the next morning. They are fantastic cookies though. Definitely try them out. The dark chocolate cookie was my favorite one I've tried. The shop is below street level so keep an eye out when heading there.

  • Madeleine Loose

The cookies from Levain were delicious! Very thick cookies, so the outside was nice and crispy while the inside was still soft, which was perfect. However, the brioche was a little lacking. We went right near closing time, so perhaps if it has been freshly made it would have been better, but at that point it was just okay. Even despite the brioche though, I’d definitely go back for the cookies!

  • Blerim Cukovic

Food: ALL THE COOKIES AND ANYTHING THAT YOU CAN SALVAGE AFTER THE LONG LINES OF PEOPLE HAVE ATTACKED IT! The best cookies in the city. Warm, chewy, buttery, rich, and a great portion. Service: Quick, they have no choice. Price: Who cares? Buy it. Menu: Whatever did not sell out is available, so it varies. Decor & Atmosphere: Just get the damn cookie. Overall: Get the damn cookies.

  • G Frye

We walked by Levain Bakery all the time, but rarely thought of getting bakery items inside until my family gifted us some cookies. They were delicious! I liked the Oatmeal Raisin cookie. My daughter likes anything with chocolate. I like how large the cookies were and their shapes were taller than other flat cookies I used to have. Definitely going back to get some for my friends.

  • Mel Lev

So when I lived in NYC these cookies were AMAZING fresh from the store. I recently ordered a batch online and did not have a great experience. I paid an inordinate sum of money for overnight shipping, and instead the package was shipped 2 day. When the cookies arrived they just weren't very good. Dry. For how much money you have to paid for delivery I expect better.

  • Ashika Jain

Wish the vegan cookies were as good as the original. Before being vegan, levain cookies were a family staple. While I appreciate the effort of having a vegan option, the grittiness in the bite makes this version less than appealing or satisfying. I wish they paid as much attention to taste and consistently in the vegan cookie as they do with the non vegan versions.

  • Mike Trotta

Big cookies. They are good. I try to only go every couple weeks. No sit down area except a bench outside. If you haven't tried this bakery, you need to try it once.

Still the best chocolate chip cookie I’ve ever tasted to date!! We were so excited to try this because my friend saw a lot of raving about Levain NYC. Eat it while still warm. The macadamia nuts were crunchy, chocolate chips melted, the dough is the right kind of chewy for me. Will try the other cookies soon. Pair it with milk. It’s addictive!

  • S D

Big scone-sized, decadent cookies. Very gooey inside, crisp outside.. I love rich food (to a fault), and eating these was almost making me sick (lol, a compliment! Meaning, one $5 cookie per day was more than enough). The people working the shop were very thoughtful too. It's super cramped inside, but there is no rush to order and get out.

  • florence

Definitely not bad, but not notably good. I went during an off hour, so it wasn't busy, and got their dark chocolate chip and chocolate chip walnut cookies. My best description of what they taste like is good with the slight floury taste you'd get from amateur homemade baked cookies. But I'm guessing that's because of how thick they were.

  • Ayana Austin-Depay

That coconut caramel chocolate chip cookie is heaven sent!! Levain always comes through with their cookies but this one is delicious! Just go pick it up now! Watch your step when you are entering the location. It’s a small one with a couple of seats. The staff is warm and friendly and it smells like cookies which is always a good time!

  • Ahmed El tantawi

The most amazing cookies we ever had. We really wanted to try it because of all the good reviews. Totally deserved. The smell is just phenomenal as soon as you get in the Cookie shop. The cookies are perfect. You also have some other pastries, like a French baguette with jam and butter, or a banane chocolate cake. 100% recommend it

  • Jeannie T.

Must try!! Their cookies after amazing, warm, buttery, and super delicious. Freshly baked all day long. They don't sit long as the line of patrons will tell you, they're one of the best in the city. If you're not down for the sweets, try their savory. They sell sandwiches, rolls, other baked goods, Italian donuts, and pizza!

  • Within_and_Beyond

Tiny hidden gem on UWS!! The most incredible cookies ever!! Enough crunch on the edges with a soft melting chewy inside. If you're lucky you might even get one that is still a bit doughy - like I did. The only negative comment is that it only has 4 flavors to choose from and nowhere to sit to indulge the cookies still warm.

  • Yuri

Had really high expectations and wasn’t disappointed. The texture, the gooey middle and the occasional crunchy when biting the sides are just perfect. Took some in a box and crossed the Atlantic, they were still good after a few days (accidentally refrigerated against the advice that it should be frozen - was still good).

  • Serena W

We got 3 cookies (5$ each): two chip chocolate chip + oatmeal raisin + fall chocolate chunk !! Chocolate chip was definitely very chocolatey… maybe a little too much for me Oatmeal raisin was pretty sweet and good Fall cookie had a sort of oatmeal raisin/ cinnamon taste to it Place was very tiny and crowded (tourists!?)

  • A

I was there a few weeks ago and the service in this store was incredible. When I was not sure what to get, I got great consultation on what I should try. I even got a small gift. Definitely one of my best experiences in terms of food and ambiente. Highly recommend!!

Great staff, great cookies! Arrived 2 min before closing and they were kind enough to serve us. Chocolate Chip and walnuts was FANTASTIC. The oatmeal raisin was also very good. They cookies are big, and moist on the inside. Perfectly cooked, and generously stuffed. Definitely stop by this small, but delicious place!

  • Max Pollak

True to form, they are known for their cookies, and they did not disappoint. The two chip chocolate chip cookie was phenomenal. The first few bites were average but once getting to the middle, where it was thick and perfectly underbaked… wow was it a good cookie “. The staff was very friendly and helpful as well.

Finally at Levain! Personally i think the cookies are very good, but not amazing. It lacks a bit of salt and dries out significantly when it's a day old. The walnut chocolate chip is the best (very fresh walnuts! ) i love how quaint and small the place is. It get crowded anytime so come early and get in line.

  • Edisson López Díaz

It was recommended to me by some friends telling me that I was going to find "the best cookie" in New York and although I was not very convinced, they were right. They serve it fast, in a very shabby place, but the cookies are incredible. They are hot, with melted chocolate inside. An atrocity not tasted.

  • Bri Atkinson

Their chocolate chip cookies have walnuts! That immediately won me over. They are $4 for one, but so worth it and the cookies are filling. You only need one. I come here about once or twice a year because these are a special treat for me. I want to try their other goodies eventually. Highly recommend!

You'll adore Levain cookies if you enjoy sweet treats/cookies. The double choc chip is my favorite out of all of them that I've tried. The center is the perfect consistency of gooey. Serve it hot if possible. Such a standard. Excellent hostess or host gift or present to surprise a friend.

I have wet dreams about these cookies. They will change your life... even make you believe in God. If you get scared off by the insanely long line... try to hold out, they are sooo worth the wait. Absolute best cookie I have had in my life in all of my worldly travels. …

The chocolate walnut cookie was phenomenal! Oh highly recommend. Very nice bakery with so much deliciousness. You can see why it's famous. Quick and simple service. Staff were great as well. Small bakery. Place has no place to sit and enjoy. You either stand &/or just grab and go.

I love these cookies! The coconut caramel chocolate chip is my fav!! They seem to have a rotating flavor. It was Rocky Road when I went on Aug 20th, which was a great choice. The space at this location is very cramped but the line can move quickly. Cookies are so worth it here!

  • George Yamine

Love love the cookies here! I come very time I am visiting NYC. The texture..the quality. The tastes. Always well worth the purchase price. The cookies are really thick. Almost like a scone. Let’s you savour it for longer. Pictured below is the Chocolate peanut Butter. So good!

The best cookie yet! It’s a very friendly place and the cookies are sooo damn amazing not only are they fresh but they are very moist in the middle and outside a lite crisp. My favorite one is the Oatmeal Raisin. Whoever has not tried it please go get a cookie it is Everything.

must-visit in new york city probably the best cookies i’ve ever eaten, perfectly chewy !!! they’re fresh out of the oven everytime and taste just as good when you’re saving them for later/the next day :) my favorites are chocolate chip walnut and double chocolate peanut butter

My roommate usually gets these shipped in so I was skeptical of it being any good. It held to it's hype. It's amazing. The chocolate Walnut cookie is a personal favorite. A local told me their blueberry muffins are the best, but they were sold out so maybe there's truth to it.

Great cookie - maybe one of the best cookies. It is gooey and warm. The service was friendly and there was no wait Tuesday 12pm. Be aware the cookies are massive, and very sweet. Probably best with a coffee and to share.

Ours where luke-warm at best with a cold and hard exterior. Overrated imo, expensive and incredibly sugary, some flavors disgustingly so. Good service and vibe though, lots of people in line but average cookie at best.

When I saw “best cookies of NY” I was hesitant… but let me tell you it is well worth the tittle. They were chunky, but smooth, just the right amount of sweetness, basically as good as one cookie can be. I liked not just the cookie but also the small bakery and branding.

07/29/22 Second time getting cookie from Levain this summer, and I think I got my fav flavor— the rocky road! Dark chocolate cookie with melted choco chips, nuts, and marshmallows fillings— it’s the taste of heaven! Absolute no.1 comfort food when u crave for smth sweet

  • NAEL

People wait in line and for good reviews I also bought cookies here but they're too sweet and I think I'm going to get diabetes. To be honest, I think I would enjoy a better cookie flavor if I only cut back on sweets. I don't think I'll ever buy cookies here again

My 2 daughters had this bakery on their list on our NYC trip. And...it was worth the non-stop comments I had to hear along the way. The cookies are rich and soft on the inside. While chocolate chip cookie is often featured, I like the oatmeal raisin the best.

  • Sarah Roberts

Literally the best cookies I've ever tasted. I ordered the walnut chocolate chip cookie and the walnuts were so soft, I thought it was chunks of white chocolate. My husband go the dark chocolate cookie and we split a blueberry muffin. Everything was amazing!

  • Elizabeth Mendonça

Best cookies in NYC and quite frankly the best I’ve ever had. A trip to the city is not complete without a stop of Levain! Got one of the double chocolate and one chocolate with PB chips. So gooey and yummy. Really rich flavor. Definitely a decadent treat!

Came to this location to get some awesome cookies. Most of their varieties were available. Staff was extremely friendly and packed them in two separate boxes. Not over crowded and would highly recommend to give it a shot. Went on a weekday at around 12pm.

I would personally say this cookies are the best of New York. Just go for the basic Chocolate Chip Walnut. Genuine big chunks of walnut, always served at perfect warm temperature, always look freshly made. Don't leave NY without having tried one of them!

  • AS SAWA

I love Levain cookie. It is my favorite cookie ever. My favorite one is Two chip chocolate chip cookie. It is the best for me. I also love the double chocolate as well. I tried the oatmeal with raisin and the chocolate with peanut butter. Love them all.

100% a 5-star rating, local neighborhood location feel. Cookies are large but uniquely prepared with impressive ingredients. Unique experience exists at Levain, can’t find at many bakeries in US. A few other locations in NYC, 74th is original.

I’ve never been a big visitor over here, but decided to try out a loaf of bread and got some Ciabatta. Very unfortunately, it tasted of nothing. The bread by itself, while it looked very nice, when you try to take a slice and eat it, had no

Walked in store tonight at the same time as a woman looking for a lost wallet. Woman at the counter spoke with her as I waited to order. Within that time a Caucasian woman walks in and the woman at the counter greets her and takes her order

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with this bakery but it’s not worth going way out of the way for! The sour cream coffee cake was pretty good but a little dry the chocolate chip cookie was very delicious, but I wish they would serve it warm

  • Ayşe Sepetçi

These are some of the best cookies you can find out there. They are more on the pricey side but worth it. I took the double chocolate chip and double chocolate chip with walnuts. Both really soft and gooey. Totally worth the hype …

  • Ross K

If you want an exceptional baked treat or cookie this is the place you are looking for! All of Levain's cookies are unique and special. This has been such a wonderful addition to the neighborhood - I feel fortunate to be able to shop here

  • AHMET ALPEREN BIRIM

This is probably the best cookie I ever had. The chocolate melts in your mouth, the ratio of walnuts were perfect. The outside was really crispy and the inside of the cookie was moist.

While smaller than some of their other locations, the staff are easily some of the friendliest and most welcoming out of really any establishment in New York. Obviously you're here for the warm and gooey cookies, but don't overlook their

Levain cookies are really delicious..The warm chocolate chip walnut definitely won me over. The cooky was quite large – definitely more than I usually eat at one time, so I saved a half of it for the day after and it was still very good.

  • Khôi Nguyễn

when I come here, I always go for the oatmeal raisin. When you take your first bite, you’ll experience a gooey, doughy texture that blends perfectly with the subtly sour flavor of the raisins. Gud one but a little pricey for one cookie.

  • Aiman A

Their chocolate chip cookies did live up to the hype, but beware! They are heavy so hard to eat even one. But they are pure deliciousness with melted chocolate and soft insides, with a crisp outside. If that's not perfection what is?

  • Alexandra Ciocan

The most delicious cookies I have ever tried in my entire life....a bakery that should not be missed. Highly recommended it.

Worth every penny! These are definitely the best cookies I've had! Moist and soft on the inside. Crisp on the outside. They don't skimp on the chocolate either! The dark chocolate peanut butter cookie is my personal favorite.

  • Chad Cromwell

Nice little shoppe in the upper west side. Stopped in here on our way to the American Museum of Natural History. Fast and friendly service. The cookies, muffins, and bread are tasty! Definitely pop in if you're in the area!

  • Kishan Dasari

The chocolate chip walnut cookie is the BEST cookie I have ever had. I got it fresh out of the oven I guess. It was warm with that lovely baking smell, it was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Damn delicious!

  • Jenna Bull

These cookies were simply amazing! Definitely visit if you love a soft cookie. We went for the walnut chocolate chip and dark chocolate and peanut butter cookie. They were both really good eaten warm outside the bakery!

  • Esthee Wong

I saw a long line for this bakery on Columbus Day and of course curiosity got the better of me. Bought the dark chocolate peanut butter cookie. It is good! Will I do it again? No, I won't pay $5 for a cookie again.

  • Thomas Craver

You need to have a Levain cookie before you die. Truly a bucket list food item. This location on the UWS is often less busy than others around the city. Sometimes less available but they make cookies all day long.
