I've shopped in Listen Up 3-4 times but never bought anything. On this visit I purchased two SVS SB-2000 subs. The reason for my purchase was the exceptional demo experience that Patrick provided. There was no pressure, no BS about unfounded audio theories; it was about identifying the product that met my need and explaining the way my best options differ from each other. This was precisely the right way to move a customer from showrooming to buying, especially for vendors that offer a direct sales alternative. I want to especially compliment Patrick for his patience and flexibility. My friend and I are both electrical engineers. Patrick didn't elicit this information and we didn't offer it. Selling goods that have detailed technical specifications to guys like us is challenging. Patrick did it just right. He met all our requests. He offered product information but stayed quiet if we weren't being interactive (i.e. We already knew what he was telling us). He even left us alone for periods of time so we could talk to each other unrestrained. I've never had this good of an experience in any high-end AV store anywhere. I'll be back to see Patrick soon!

Very disappointing visit. I’ve been looking to upgrade my headphones, and one of the reasons for my trip to Albuquerque was to listen to headphones at Listenup. Imagine my disappointment when I got there to be told they don’t stock any wired headphones. The person I spoke with told me they could order for me, but ordering from them and then having to drive almost 500 miles round trip doesn’t help accomplish my goal of listening to some different headphones and deciding what I like best. As a general rule I like to deal with local (or “local” when it’s in Albuquerque) businesses, to help keep them in business so they are around when I need help making decisions like this. When you combine the 500 mile round trip to pick them up if I ordered, with the fact I can get any headphones delivered to my home within a few days, there is no incentive at all to do business with them. Based on the other reviews, I’m sure if they meet your needs they’ll do a good job for you. But in my case they were simply a waste of gas and time.

One word. Insulting. I have spent over $20,000 in the last 12 months at this establishment for a home audio system. Patrick was my salesperson and was awesome. Made the entire experience pleasant and ended up with a great system. Called 2 weeks ago to have them order me two sets of headphones. They have a 60 day return policy and I was upfront about testing both and possibly bringing one back within the 60 days if I didn't like both (one is open back and one is closed back). They charged my credit card the full amount (new retail prices) when they "ordered" them. Just got a call from them saying that both pairs are in but they are used (not new) and I would have to come into the store to test them and couldn't take them home...EXCUSE ME? I can't take the headphones I PURCHASED home?

I live in Denver and brought my wife by to come check this place out as we were looking to fit our new home with audio. Unfortunately we felt as though we were being rushed out of the place and our stay for a few minutes was not welcomed. The staff felt very opinionated about their personal favorite brands. The lineup of brands felt very minimal and didn’t properly encompass every option available. Go shop if you’re looking for retail price speakers and amps with every penny squeezed out of your wallet, In addition they have no warranty policy so if something breaks after the fact, good luck. Go shop Crutchfield instead. better prices and better service after the fact + none of their salespeople are for profit unlike ListenUp.

My salesperson Patrick was super helpful. Got to know my musical tastes right away and we listened to a variety of speakers within my price range. He never tried to steer me in a particular direction even though based on our initial conversation he already kind of knew where I would go. Now the best part. When my speakers arrived one was scratched during shipping. The manufacturer required sending both back for replacement. Instead of making me wait longer, they sent me home with their floor models so I could enjoy them immediately. When mine arrived, Patrick brought them to my house, repackaged their speakers and set up my new ones. I was thoroughly impressed with this level of customer service. Great experience!

Shawn Mills is the biggest clown I have ever met! Not only didn’t pay any attention to what we agreed, but attempted to charge me twice the cost of the same product. He never finished the job, lied all the way through, and I ended putting my family at risk after wiring electricity in both of my shower windows, for an electrical blind installation I never requested (please see photo!). The alarm job has been like pulling teeth: if I wouldn’t have insisted and inquired, I would still have missing pieces installed, that are already payed. Please avoid this company: I have NEVER EXPERIENCED SUCH LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM!

Technician were fine but Orlando was a joke; I purchased a $700 universal remote and another $300 for them the link everything up for me, the remote was never sync correctly before the technician left. When we called back, my call was transfer to Orlando’s voicemail and he never called me back, when we finally got a hold of him, he is trying to say, the “job was done too long ago” and they weren’t going to come out to address the problem. I have use them a few times in the past but this will be my last time and I will make sure to let my neighbors and friends know.

Nice little store, and the only place you can go for any Bowers&Wilkins equipment in the entire state. Good selection of speakers and professional audio equipment, and although the selection of high-end headphones is sparse, they have some good choices. The store is always clean and the employees are always dressed professionally, which makes the experience feel classy, and makes the wallet pain easier to deal with. Just don't let them sell you any AudioQuest products -- they're utter nonsense. Especially the cables.

System setup with John and Patrick went pretty well. Some minor glitches, like a power cord that didn't work with the TV, were left for me to fix. Patrick doesn't use Apple systems, so he was frustrated with the Mac setup and didn't want to spend the time - again, I was left to finish the job off. I would say I am satisfied with the hardware setup, but I could have used more help with the user interface. For the amount I spent for the system, I would expect it to be all perfect before they left the house.

From demo, planning, sales and installation the team did a great job. Overall performance was initially close to Five Stars. The reason for Four Stars is that there was an oversight...a remote cable was not planned for to connect my amps with the pre amp, which I would think would be as basic as having power cables. So, I am without the remote cable and the system is not ideally configured. Addendum: They are now FIVE STARS! for the team came in to fix the problem. They are real Pros....

I found the process very reassuring. The professionalism of your ListenUp team was remarkable. The service was to install a 75” TV and wall mount. Patrick and Orlando were responsive to my questions and provided demonstrations of key features to insure my enjoyment of the TV. The care taken to make sure that the mount would provide the optimum viewing experience. I will return to ListenUp for all my A/V home theater needs and will happily provide recommendations to others.

Super happy with my recently purchased BlueSound Node 2i. Sounds great! Audible improvement over my music server and Shitte Audio DAC. Easy to use and set up. App is solid. Patrick was helpful on this purchase as well as another recent trip in to audition some turntables. Love having a few brick and mortars around still and LOVED that you actually had it in stock on a walk in! Keep up the solid work! If you want real hifi in ABQ, where else ya gonna go???

his is the best company in Albuquerque when it comes to TV installations. They did an impeccable job, had the patience to teach me how to use the new device. They came back when I had another question and on time and careful about the health guidance. Mikey and Gene are fantastic. I am 100% satisfied with my system and purchase. I am normally an online shopper due to the service that you receive in the big shops. Nick was fantastic! He’s obviously an expert at what he does and didn’t mind explaining a lot of it to me. He was really quick, too. I went in there thinking of buying Klipsch Heresy IV's. I asked the salesperson for the sales pitch and he said..."Dont have one. I mostly know multi channel sales" It seemed in retrospect, he thought I was an old person who was stupid. I also asked for a referral for Marantz repair. "Quickpoint" he said. They charged me 500.00 and they didn't fix the unit. So that is a NO for both companies!.

I called and the person that answered was super nice. The one I was transferred to seemed pretty disinterested in my inquiry. He didn't request any follow-up information, and then when I called him back with some answers to his questions, he never returned my call. I thought about calling again but...I hate when people make me feel like I have to beg them to take my money.

I've been in twice this year and both times received, helpful, knowledgeable service. Do check if you are looking for a specific brand; they don't carry nearly everything in Albuquerque listed on their site. Not as high pressure as other places around. This isn't the same as the old Hudson's, but those kinds of places are gone for good, at least in little markets like ABQ.

Don't expect this outfit to respond to you quickly after they put in a system. They said that it would take them a few weeks to have someone come out. They left cables hanging, not what you want to see when you have a wall mounted TV. They did not even replace a back cabinet cover. Not a very professional job! Not to worry Sean. My friend had it taken care.

Jonathan showed up right as scheduled and spent plenty of time making sure to correctly diagnose the issue I was having with some speakers. He was extremely patient while I fumbled around trying to reproduce the issue, which I appreciated, and was sure to clean up after the job was done. Very courteous and efficient--great job overall!

Sterling and Fabio did an outstanding job of installing the TV, making sure everything was working, and providing patient and detailed instruction to Susan on the use of the remote, accessing her favorite sites, etc. They were very thorough, right on time, and made sure that everything was as good as it could be.

Terrible service. I've been there twice, and neither time did one person come out to talk to me. I looked around and saw them chatting away in their offices, but they never showed any interest in talking to a customer. (I'm not even sure if they knew I was there.) Clearly, this business is in no way professional.

Was ready to spend serous money on some Focal Grande utopia’s .. skinny sales man . Then started to teach me audio 101 in a condescending manner . Well I can only tell you , this only turned me off . I usually spend hours listening & sitting. I left in 20 min.
