This review is in specific to Jessica in the women's shoe department. As soon as I was walking through the shoe aisles, Jessica began following and circling me, as if I was going to steal or whatever. Anyhow, I carried on seeking for a shoe I'd like to try. When I finally found a shoe, I turned around and Jessica ran for the hills. I followed her to the desk and observed as she suddenly seemed to be lost doing nothing. I placed the shoe on the counter and waited for her to acknowledge me, which after much disbelief that I was standing in front of her, she then finally asked "how can I help you". She asked me the size I was looking for and with the biggest smile on her face she said that size wasn't available. (I highly doubt that indeed this size was out) I asked for the next size up, she scanned my request and then proceeded to check out employees behind the counter? Needless to say, Jessica ignored me from that moment forward. It's evident that Jessica was projecting her discriminatory views upon me from the moment I walked into the store and when it came time to fulfill her job duties she was a reluctant and neglectful as any racist person can be. By natural expectancy, she didn't care to update me how long the wait would be. Another worker noticed me waiting and in literally no time he came back with the pair of shoes. If I could give Jessica a 0, I would. She is the epitome of what's wrong with America. On the other hand, I give a 5 star review to Carl who also works in the women's department. Carl was patient, friendly, professional with the guests in front of me and exceptional when it was my turn to be checked out. He went over and beyond, informing me of the extra stars a customer would get for signing up to the rewards program and he even applied the $10 credit on the spot. Now Carl is an exceptional Macy's employee with an expanded view and mindset, who didn't allow his personal discriminatory preferences to override his work performance. Carl, I do hope you get the recognition / promotion you deserve as you're an inspiring leader in a world that apparently still hosts old fashioned narrow minded racist people.

DON'T BUY A MACY'S E-GIFT CARD I got a Macy's e-gift card for my birthday last year. I went to the store to buy a jacket. When I brought up the gift card email on my phone and clicked "Redeem," it said something like, "Your request can't be processed. Call this customer service number." Tried on my wife's phone as well to make sure it wasn't an issue with my phone. Same result. So I called the number. It took me to an automated system that was completely useless. It kept asking me for the gift card number, which was not available on the email. I messed around with the automated system for quite a while and it would not let me talk to a person. So finally I called a different customer service number and said I wanted to make a complaint. Finally I got a person, but after literally a half-hour of trying to help me out, he said he'd done all he could and all he could do now was have a gift card specialist call me. He said hopefully I'd hear from them within an hour. I did not. All this time, I'm standing outside Macy's, wasting my Saturday. Finally I give up waiting and go home. Complete waste of a trip. I never hear from Macy's. So I call them again, and after another hour on the phone, they finally tell me that I basically cannot access my gift card online for some reason (I still don't really understand why) and that basically my only option was for them to mail me a physical gift card. They offered me nothing to compensate for all my wasted time, energy, gas, etc.

I am a Macy's cardholder and have been for about 20+ years. This location has the rudest employees that I've ever seen at any Macy's. There is a huge notice near the elevator on the first floor regarding discrimination and how Macy's is very much against it. That they value every customer that walks through the door. Lies!!!!! I was at the makeup counter this afternoon and was looking for a makeup shade, which takes Awhile to do. No one came to help and the store wasn't busy. Mina rang me up and was not friendly at all. She made me feel as if I was a begger.. I was dressed well yet was looked at as if I was less than. I will be canceling my Macy's credit card because I refuse to give my money to a store that has no business etiquette!

For a location in such a "high dollar" class of mall, this place was lacking. We were essentially "stranded" on the 2nd floor. This was due to the down escalators were not working, the ONLY elevator in the store not working, and the only help I was given was,...."there is one in the mall" Well the down escalators and one of the two elevators were also not working in the mall. We had to search and find a working elevator on the other side of the mall to allows us to get down to the first floor. This is a serious problem not only because we had a stroller, but the store wasnt handicap accessible....what is someone in a wheelchair to do since the elevator was not working? Come on Macy's, get it together and get these issues fixed.

Went in to get a dress shirt to go with my suit. I picked 3 shirts that are pinned to cardboard. Was told by the staff that I was not allowed to take them off the cardboard, and she would get me shirts from the back. After 10 mins she returned with three completely different shirts and in random colors. I explained I wanted to try on the shirts I picked with the suit jacket and was promptly told that was not a possible option. Try on the other random shirts is the only choice. I asked the lady if this is how she chooses a dress. Pick one but try on another random one only and then buy the one she picked without trying it on. She just smiled. So I left and went to a real store where you can try them on.

Terrible corporation. Their loss prevention “officers” think its okay to CHOKE and slam shoplifters against walls/ floors once they’re out of the store. If they want to prevent loss maybe they should do their job better and catch shoplifters before they exit the building. I witnessed 5 loss prevention people use excessive force on a young man who was accused of stealing a $80 perfume. There was a crowd gathered around trying to help the young man from getting hurt by this loss prevention people. I had to yell at one of the workers to stop choking the poor guy. Not sure how they think this is totally legal and it will be a matter of time before someone sues them. DO NOT SHOP HERE.

Fashion Valley Macy's in San Diego California is the best Macy's in town! Customer service here is OUTSTANDING! The employees clearly love working here from all the after store hour dedication I was shown last night! In men's shoes, the gentleman that helped worked hard and did not rush me even at 10 minutes before closing! Very professional & smiling infectionsly the whole time. The young woman in the sunglasses department also remained professional and kept her smile despite me getting to her right at closing time! Keep up the great work! See you all soon♡

It has been a long time since we shopped there! The service was really bad I found a pair of shoes I liked before the shop closed. I wanted to purchase them and the Lady Street on yell at me that I couldn’t!! And then we got out of the store and the lady did not give me the face cream that I bought. And the man was giving me a hard time and wouldn’t let me in to get my face cream that I paid for and it was 60$ so I basically lost 60$ and the service was horrible!! I recommend going somewhere else for now on

Purchased items in the men’s suit department yesterday, and Stuart provided us with exceptional service. He knows his department and inventory. That is almost non existent in most stores nowadays! Highly recommend working with him if you are in his department!!! Had to go back today to pick up more items, and was assisted by a Manager whose name starts with “D”. The sales representative there at Macy's named Madalyn was absolutely amazing! She helped us find a ball gown dress for the Marine Corps Ball. She was very helpful and pointed out some really nice dresses for my girlfriend to consider. One of the worst macys locations I've been to. The staff was trying to rush us out the store even tho there was still 15 mins left until closing. When we went to pay magically 5 of my credit cards didn work and 3 of them were differnet banks that most definitely did not have any problems making a purchase at another store right after we left. I don't wanna say we were racially profiled but it was definitely not a welcoming atmosphere or staff

Stellar selection of suit separates and blazers. I came here to upgrade my style game and was pleasantly surprised. What I found most interesting and helpful was the stylist who sits at the far end of the men's area. He was able to help me with pairing ideas, something that is often hard for some to do. Would certainly come again. This is the Macy's experience people need to see, hear, and feel.

The store itself ìs ok. The staff is friendly. It was a bit messy due to a big sale but things were not easy to find regardless. Brands were broken up in different places. The jewelry department was disappointing. The jewelry was geared towards much older women. What they did have was clunky and over priced. Clothing was nice and had great brands but low stock. Doubt I would come back again.

Went inside here to get a gift for my girl Laura B greeted me with a smile and asked me if I needed anything. I asked her to help me get a gift for my girl and she went above and beyond to show me all the best products. Eventually, we were able. To. Find the exact color and product my girl wanted. We went here to buy jackets. There was a mess everywhere. It was hard to find anything. Too much merchandise. The funny thing was after I looked at the prices I figured same jacket was 10 times more expensive than Marshals and 15 times more than Costco. A better management team would probably organize the place and have some research done before tagging the prices.

For a great personal shopper experience, ask to make an appointment with Maurice. I always have a pleasant shopping experience with Maurice doing all the looking for me. He puts me in a nice big room, and I just try on the clothes he brings to me. I always walk away with more clothes than I intended to buy. He respects my price range and finds me great deals!

This place is huge. Has everything you'd need from a department store. Good quality items, decent prices and they always seem to have some kind of deal going on to save even more money. It's ok. Men's shoes collection is very small. Everything else is plentiful. Careful when walking near the toxic perfume/cologne area. It's very strong, like Chuck Norris punching you in the nose. Out of nowhere a sweet old lady grabs a sample on paper and hands it to me before I could say no. My facial expression was already set to puke mode.

My mother uses a walker to move around. We wanted to go to the 2nd floor to use the ladies room. She has difficulty using the escalator with her walker. We entered on the 1st floor and told the elevator was out of order. We would need to use the freight elevator and be escorted to the back by an employee

It appears that the Macy's brand has really deteriorated over the past years. Racks were messy and fitting rooms were not very clean. Considering that prices for their merchandise continues to be on the higher end, I would expect it to be reflected in their store fronts like other department stores.
