Don't waste your money or time. Over priced by over 30% . Horrible customer experience. They won't bother to contact the manufacturer. They will just tell you they don't make the parts. Buy a new model and they will give you a discount on their over priced products. There hole thing here is to get you to spend the most money each time while giving you the worst experience. Everything sold in the store is just poor quality. Shop down the street at big als. Way better store. This store gets a zero for the worst aquarium store I've dealt with in 12 years of reefing. The pump works fine. Why should I spend 150 on a new one ? Why would I ever spend money on anything from you again when you won't even bother to source me parts. There reply. Is wrong. The pump is still made and manufactured. It took me 10 secs online to find other pumps of the same model and brand . I do expect you to sell products that last. You should be able to source me parts . I already bought a replacement pump from you. Things in the aquarium hobby are made to break and get fixed . You lied and did not contact jeabo. The controller and pump are still sold. You lied to get me to spend more money. It's that simple. Dishonesty doesn't get more obvious then that. I won't be back. Who am I? You have no idea ? Run one of the biggest reefing fb groups that's not me . Your customer service sucks . I'll make sure to spread the news .

Went there to look at some wild caught discus. At the time they didnt have any but said that the next day they'd be receiving a shipment. The guy mentioned to me about coming back to take a look and that i could put a deposit on one, to pick up next weekend. My wife and i drove back 1 hr 10 min, the very next day. When i approached the guy about my visit the other day, he told me that he cant hold them for that long because its not fair to other buyers. Thats funny because the day before he brought up the deposit and holding it for a week for quarantine not me. Then he proceeded to tell me he couldnt because of a big shipment coming in and he simply doesn't have the room. Dude kept changing up his story #1 and 2..what kind of place doesnt properly quarantine their fish before selling them; especially for the price he was asking?! 3 this same dude says he could hold it no later than Friday. I told him i am from Hamilton and would have a hard time getting there by closing time with rush hour traffic after work. Do you think he offered to pick up satuday morning when they opened..No. It was Friday or Nothing. . I was contemplating buying a bigger aquarium from them in near future but i dont trust doing business with this place. He is not worth my business or referral. Rudeness was also a factor.

Very friendly and knowledgeable. Carry fresh and marine hardware. Unique tank selection starfire, modern rounded corners, and coloured amongst others. Excellent selection for decorations, hardware, media and filters. No plants as of yet. If you are a monster fishkeeper they have some fantastic stock. They are in the middle of expanding so be patient. I have seen a great deal of growth since our last visit. Their aquariums are not stuffed to the brim full of fish which is better fir the fish especially cichlids. Their filter media is fantastic! Equivalent to the biohome media (which costs a fortune) for complete nitrogen cycling they have the bacteria house products. Do the same thing and great price. Matten filter foam is available in varying densities and thicknesses - this stuff is so hard to find. They also carry the newest bacteria cycling methods. Last but not least I purchased several female dragon bettas and two beautiful male HMPK betta and they are fantastic! Looking forwatd to our next visit.

Went there looking get my first ever fish tank. Store owner Brant was very helpful and was able to give me lots of information on how to care for my aquarium (he demonstrated with his tanks for a better explanation). I ended up getting 3 Ranchu goldfish and all of my equipment from him. The ranchus that were for sale all looked healthy and had great wen development. High quality Goldfish!! There were lots of goldfish to select from, and looking around there is a good selection of other fish there. Magical Aquarium was able to offer everything that I need and I would 100% go there again. I would love to go there again and start up another aquarium from him!

Aquariums are dirty, low selection of aquatic life , fair to average prices on fish decent priced dry goods stuff isint very knowledgeable about what they have or where it is. Wouldint recommend buying any expensive fish , i purchased a $180 fish that died less then 24hr later and got told to basically kick rocks i was sol , all my tank parameters where as they should be 0 ammonia 0 nitrite 1ppm nitrate , ph same as stores temp same as well , well established tank and the fish had no tankmates, so dont expect exchange store credit or your money back , magical at taking your hard earned dollars.

One things I like about this shop is their selections of rimless tank (from nano to large). I probably get one in the future since I rarely see any aquarium in Scarborough have these in stock and they look nice. The amount of fish in the display room is not enough but this is probably because the owner did not receive any new shipments yet around this time of the year. Therefore, not much options for small fish from $3-$8 as far as this time.The fish that are currently on display are huge and the price is ranging from $100-400! Hopefully in the future the owner receive more smaller fish.

Revisit 2 months later: No progress has been made in the store, still under construction, the few fish that are stocked are in horrible conditions, most dead and decaying in the tanks. The big money fish are well cared for but anything else are left to rot. It's really awful to see this level of disrespect for life. Will not return. --Original Post: It's in the middle of renovations so there are no fish but still an incredible store to visit for some out of this world tanks and lots of small accessories / supplies.

In terms of selection, I would give a 3.5 In terms of service a 0. No one is rude, but I definitely do not exist when I go there. It's like I have my invisibility cloak on. I have visited three times since December 2022 after adding a 3rd large tank to my collection. I wanted to explore more Tropical Fish stores in the GTA as I grew my aquariums, and that is what led me to them. I frequent Big Al's a block or two south and have found many other great places. To sum it up, they would get a 5 for consistency.

More professionalism should be taught to everyone there wherein the “1st come, 1st serve” system should be followed more so its more fair to every customer. Instead of being able to buy a golden nugget pleco (or maybe something more expensive), we decided to just leave since the guy (Ashman or something) decided to attend to another customer. We drove from Brampton to Scarborough .... only to get a treatment like this? VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. I will not buy from this store ever and i’ll blacklist them.

Hardware is very nice. Lots of small aquarium and Asian hardware that's sometimes hard to find. Fish selection is low but they had nice selection of rarer pleco. Front of store had some display tanks going through some sort of algae issue but stingray arrowanna tank is nice. Also had nice set up for koi. Large display tanks downstairs and interesting options for drip filters. Staff member was always two seconds behind us but I can understand with having expensive livestock.

If your looking for discus fish this is the ONLY place to shop. I’ve purchased many discus from Tony over the years for myself and friends and have never had any problems. They accept conditioned tap water, eat everything and are disease free. The discus are raised by the family business and all his fish are from the same source so no cross-contamination. If he doesn’t have what you want he’ll get it. Worth the trip to Scarborough!

Great place to get filter material and sump tank building, they have a large variety of bacteria housing, filter media, etc and other accessories like pleco caves and breeding cones (more than they have fish). However their fish stalk is limited to a few exotics that are usually expensive. If you are looking for filter material or certain exotic fish this place is great, but it's more directed at a certain group of customers.

While Magical Aquarium has a smaller selection of livestock, it is of much higher quality than places such as Big Al’s. The fish present are very uncommon and many of them you will not find at your typical fish store. Wide selection of dry goods, and definitely a must see for anyone interested in pleco, discus, and other more unique species. Spotted some leaf fish and a nice selection of juvenile Asian arowana when I visit.

Why , or how this store exist is beyond me. It is probably for laundering money from China considering big als and M&J Aquarium is down the street. Those stores have been there forever . I also heard they got tagged with importing illegal fish for $35,000 . You should not support a store like this 0/10 stars ⭐️ poachers with a import connection. Possibly a front for something else.

It’s a good place to buy pet food and supplements, my dog and cat likes it. They also have a lot of cute toys and pet bed. always good quality, and better price than pet smart. The staff’s name Sophia is super helpful always give good advice and patience. They also has different kinds of fishes, I might consider to buy them in the future. Nice place, will definitely visit again.

Was looking for a larger aquarium as an upgrade. Sales was very helpful and offered a returned item at a very affordable price. Service was excellent. They instructed us on how to manage our new filter system and provided starting supplies to keep us going for the first little while. Home delivery was a bonus as our place was on the way home for their sales Rep!

Set up is real nice. Just recently opened but the variety of fish is very slim. Aquarium concepts are very sharp and would look good anywhere. Their back overflow aquariums are very nice. Since you can puy any type of media filter in order to have crystal clear water for your resident fish. Overall a good place to visit to look for affordable aquarium setups.

Amazing selection of very large and exotic fish. Friendly staff and they even sell cycles sponges which is cool. Not really that good a store if you are looking for smaller sized fish that don't grow to be 18+ inches. Some of the fish seemed a little lethargic and one flowerhorn was on his side looking pretty close to dead. Lots of really big tanks

Horrific. Dead fish in tanks, worker just sitting around on their phones. There was a giant koi in a tiny tank that looked utterly depressed. Pufferfish, stingrays, all in tiny and awful tanks. This place needs to be shut down and those fish need to be saved from the disturbing conditions they’ve been put in. Do not support this business at all.

They dont have any good fishes. The aquariums are dirty and we were confused if we were at the right place because fishes were more like what you will find at the fish market than at the pet store =/ place is not maintained at all. Only plus point which i assume is that you might find supplies for your aquarium there. But wasnt worth the trip

Excellent quality! I was shocked when I bought a flowerhorn with my partner and the fish had no fusses being introduced into a new tank or during transportation This is a great indication that these fish are being taken care of extremely well. He acted like he’d been in his new tank his whole life! Will definitely buy another from here!

They dont stock a lot of fish but can get in some AMAZING fish. What they do have is GORGEOUS, different kinds of tanks, lights and equipment. It's not the most organised and they also keep things somewhere (?) Outside of the store so if you cant find something, ask. Prices are also very reasonable. Will be buying from again.

Bettas are in absolute HORRIBLE condition!! All are in TINY dirty cups and pretty much all are sick. It’s very very sad. And the tiny containers that they sell as “tanks” is just horrifying. The smallest I have EVER seen Bettas need a MINIMUM of 2.5 gallons with a heater(yes they are TROPICAL fish!!) and a filter. …

The selection of Starfire (Low Iron) aquarium is excellent! Less that Half the Price of ADA tanks and the quality is similar. they also have a very good selection of LED lights & aquarium products at very competitive rates. Haven't purchased any live stock from here but they did have some rate fish!

This is truly by far the saddest pet store I have ever been to. Unfriendly service, all items are very strangely organized, the large fish are stuffed into a tank that is much much too small. I was uncomfortable as soon as I walked in. Nothing magical about this place at all, such a disappointment.

Owner has been in the hobby a very long time. If your looking for high end or in demand exotic freshwater fish, I suggest coming here. They can order and import exactly the fish and size you are looking for. They're custom aquarium builds are very impressive and priced well.

Renewed experience. Upgraded from barely stocked to just WOW! Quality and reasonably priced discus (different sizes and strains), show quality flowerhorn and betta fish (not the ordinary breeds). Cannot speak to the quality of the equipment sold but there is quite a variety.

Aquariums are poorly maintained. Show tanks too. Fish quality and selection isn't the best either. Went it to get some Altum Angels and was told no selecting allowed? Which self-respecting hobbyist is going to allow that? Great price on starfire-like tanks though.

I got 2× T5 fixtures. After one month the fixtures got fired. Hopefully it happened ~3 pm on Saturday and I was home and I unplugged right away. The fixtures doesn't have CSA approval. Pay Extra attention if you buy electrical equipment from this store.

Large store but not many fish options although price is better than the Big Al's down the street. I got 10 cardinal tetras for $25. Where as at Big Al's it's $30. Store is somewhat neglected with some empty tanks and stocks were on the floor everywhere.

Service and info is good, but their prices on accessories are really good, specially when there are a clearance section. They have awsome fish but I just never make it in on time when they get their fresh shippment. Their fish go pretty fast.

I bought 2 Endler guppies against my better judgment as their were several dead fish in various aquariums. I lost $16+taxes. Do not purchase livestock of any kind here. First and last time I will be visiting here, never again.

They have nice rimless tanks and assortment of aquarium supplies, however thier care on their livestock is unacceptable. I have seen Betta's there in less than an inch or so of stagnant water this isn't ok.

Great place to find aquarium accessories and at discounted rates compared to other aquarium shops. Out of all the stores I shopped around this place had the best selection of lighting for my aquarium.

Odd set up, you kind of need to really look for things but when they get fish they are frequently top quality and they have the biggest selection of different and high quality tanks and lights.

I don't think they give the right advice to customer they are more focused on selling you stuff do you research before you and get what you think is right not what they recommend you

I live an hour and a half away- bought an LED light here and when I got home it didn't work, not a happy customer. Check your purchase before you leave the store.

Staff is uninterested in the job. Place has poor upkeep. Cool rimless tanks a lot of salt focus on the tanks. Fish are mostly freshwater.
