We live an hour away, but we needed a last minute party idea, because our outdoor party was rained out. We scheduled a bowling/arcade party for a Saturday afternoon. We arrived 30 minutes early, and they gave us 20 minute cards to use as we waited on our table. We were worried, because out of 23 invites, we only received two RSVPs. It was a small group of kiddos, but it was still a wonderful time, and we were so grateful that a couple pals made the same trip to celebrate with us. When everyone arrived, we bowled. The kiddos had a great time. Our bowling started a little late, so we didn't get our full hour. Main Event accommodated us by giving us 20 minutes of laser tag! So cool. Then they gave us some $10 add ons for our game cards. They really took care of us. After bowling and a taste of laser tag, we sat for pizza. As the pizza was being delivered to our table, a slice fell from the tray. They made it right by making us another whole pizza! They are really great. They loaned us candles for our cake. Our birthday boy had two delicious slushies. Ella was our party host and she was so kind and personable. She did an amazing job taking care of our crazy party. As we were opening gifts, we heard someone behind us shouting for the parents of a little boy in a plaid shirt. I thought, "Hmm...I have one of those." I turned to look at him, and realized he was gone in all the chaos. Apparently, my youngest enjoyed bowling so much that he made his way back to the lane we used, and tried to bowl on someone's game. I felt horrible. He is non-verbal/autistic, and did not understand why he couldn't bowl. The members at Main Event were so calm with him. I don't think the other party was all too happy with him. During one of his frustrated moments, he couldn't be calmed, my sister offered to get him a treat to help him as we waited for everyone to bowl. The concession attendant gave him a bowl of ice cream for free. Then it was game time. The games were fun. There were a few issues with a couple games, and the team members made it right. We played the heck out of the spongebob game, and some of the cards got stuck. An attendant came over, kind as can be, unclogged it. We ended up winning over 6000 points. The boys had a blast in the ticket gift room. There was quite a line due to a computer issue. We made our way to the front, arms full of goodies. We had over 900 tickets left, but with an autistic child, and another one hopped up on slushie and cake, we gave the remainder to the little guys behind us. It made their night. I cannot recommend this place enough. We had such a good time. Kind employees. Everything was clean and modern. Pizza was yummy. Atmosphere was light and fun. It was worth the hour drive for sure.

We were taken such good care of by our party host for my daughter's 9th birthday party last night. I'll start with the one issue we had: We had some concern about the laser tag, and even tried to talk our 9 year old out of it, mainly because on our prior visit some of the guns didn't work right. She still wanted to do it, so we signed her up as part of the package. Sure enough, hers was the only gun that wasn't working during the game. The host (Lily) ran and got her a replacement as soon as we told her about the issue (we got to go in and watch them play, so that helped us find out what was going on), so that was taken care of quickly, but my son's gun also reset half way through the game, and he lost his score. He tried to act like it didn't bother him, but we could tell he was upset. These kids are so competitive! We come to this Main Event location on a monthly basis now, and all 3 of our younger kids wanted to have their birthday parties here. We couldn't have been happier with the experience, despite the silly issues with the laser tag equipment. With 3 birthdays all taking place in November, we were able to try it both ways (hosted party vs non-hosted). I have to say that having a host is a HUGE game changer! She (Lily) just made it SO much easier than trying to manage everything ourselves! If you can, ask for Lily as your host! She not only stayed present the entire evening, but she learned all 10 of the kid's names right off the bat, offered to go find and round them all up for the special events we signed up for, and took care of all the guests' needs the entire evening, including getting sodas and taking food orders for the adults! Our kids are already planning their next birthdays at Main Event!

Honestly I would have rated it better because overall everything was awesome and really fun and most of the employees were cool and really nice. I honestly had a blast and spent a few hours there doing various things. Honestly arcades and bowling alleys are like my favorite places there’s nothing better then the nostalgia of these retro kinds of things. The reason why I’m taking it down two stars is because of the attitudes of two of the guys that were in charge of the prize station and laser tag. One of them had the worst attitude I’ve ever seen in a customer service employee ever any time you’d ask him anything he’d cop an attitude. One of the games was broken and it took my credits so I asked him for help and he came swiped my card again so I lost more credits and he was like oh well you don’t have enough credits I can’t do anything about it gave me my card back and walked away. I went and checked my card at the machine and it said I still had over 100 credits so that clearly wasn’t the issue. Then when I traded in my prize points I grabbed exactly what I had credits for and he said I didn’t have enough when I know for sure I did. I had to call a manager to help. He was overly rude for no reason and it really ruined my experience a little. The other dude with him wasn’t much better but at least he was trying to help. I asked him to look for something in the back and he literally just said I can’t we don’t have it anyway instead of actually trying. I left so mad I was shaking because of my stress and anxiety. Honestly I would recommend this place just be careful and watch out for people’s attitudes and not wanting to do their jobs

Fun place to go while visiting KC! They have a little bit of everything and the arcade is huge with all games working. The cost per game is pretty high but that's to be expected. There is seating for a restaurant right next to the billard tables. When we first sit down the waitress comes and asks to put my card on file, looking back I should of said no but I handed it over. They have a deal with a meal and play time in the arcade so we did that. The food was fine but the service was pretty bad, couldn't get drinks refilled, and most of the employees were just playing pool or standing around taking. Before we were done eating, the server brought over our paid bill. Not even wanting to use my card, I was intending on asking for it back and paying in cash she just took it upon herself to charge it up, we didn't even get to look at the charges. It was really weird but I shouldn't of just handed over my card. Although we will go back in the future, we'll eat some where else before.

This was our first experience having a birthday party at Main Event. We were a little nervous since this venue (for a birthday party) was new to us. The first manager to greet us told us that the Gravity Ropes would be closed for the duration of our party due to a training. This was disappointing to hear because we had 17 sixth grade boys that really wanted the full Main Event experience. However, during the time that of our party there was a shift change and the night manager, Tremane, made sure to open up the Gravity Ropes before the training began. This gave the kids in our birthday party an hour to play in the Gravity Ropes area. Tremane has EXCELLENT customer service skills and made sure that our visit was the BEST it could be. He was so kind and helpful. Tremane made sure that our time at Main Event was worth it. We will definitely be booking future parties here in the future--especially if Tremane is the manager on duty.

I had my son Avery's 8th birthday party here. I knew it was going to be a madhouse with so many kids. Our party host Lilly was absolutely spectacular, I can't say this enough. She went above and beyond on so many levels to take care of my party and keep all the kids happy. Everything was extremely well organized, and every single person present was accommodated for their needs. She took the reins on a big party of kids and their respective adults and didn't miss a beat. Absolutely made our day go perfect. My son and all his friends had a blast.

At several points lost sight of a couple kids, but the place has one large staffed entry/exit so you feel safe about them running around a bit.

We come here all the time and usually it's like a basic fun arcade place. However this last time we went I was redoing my 21st birthday since I was pregnant and couldn't drink before. We got the activity pass and decided to bowl first. We has the most amazing service I have ever gotten here. Our server Zachary I believe was his name. He was so nice and helpful. He helped suggest drinks for me. We had great conversation, he was so funny. He truly made our night amazing. I will definitely be going back and asking for him if he's there. I'm glad we got him as our server since he made that night the best experience for me who hasn't ordered drinks out in public before. He really knows what he was doing and how to help. I wish I could tell him thank you for making the night the best I have had in a long time. I think my friends would agree.

  • Extreme Entertainment

Employee indifference, attractions being closed early and pretty steep prices for some of the stuff. Places like this are making hand over fist on families in a Time when we could really use a break and some cheap entertainment. People are making less money and the prices keep going up and they call it inflation but it's much more than that, it's corporate greed. This is pretty distressing. Depending on who you listen to we're pretty much on the edge of a recession. It's actually cheaper to go to worlds of fun and they have roller coasters there! All around disappointed and when I sent an email for some help regarding a few issues, I never even got a reply. Forget this place. They said to contact them but NO ONE EVER ANSWERS THE PHONE!!!!

I went there with my husband and our 20yr old son, just to get out of the house. We love places like this, arcades, basketball, skeetball etc. They also have bowling and other games. You have to wear a mask (which is great yo protect ppl), and an ice cream parlor. That was kind of pricey, the Gelato, and the mint chocolate chip was horrible, tasted like sugar and ice, like it was separated somehow. The price was not bad. We paid $10.95 to play unlimited games. Some things are not included with this..like the virtual games and the claw machines. And you don't get any tickets to redeem for prizes. But we went there to have fun and compete with each other for bragging rights. Definitely will go there to play and have fun with friends and family.

  • Toni

I had never been before now and it was kind of exciting! We went for a birthday party since we didn't have a lot of options and it really wasn't that expensive (excluding buying the currency for the arcade games, of course) We did bowling - which you get the lane for an hour. I, personally, didn't do the laser tag but my friends said it was pretty cool. And spent a lot (A LOT) of time playing the arcade games like four square basketball or air hockey. Although, be careful as some of the games (like skeeball despite it being my favourite one) didn't really work and just took some of our 'tokens'. Kind of a bummer. Overall, would be a good place to visit at least once! Definitely more of a smaller child friendly place? But good nonetheless.

We live really close by main event northland and it is such a great place to hang out and have fun! The employees are great. There is always someone to greet us at entrance. Special acknowledgment to your employee, Korran. He is always smiling and very patient with our kids. Please give him a high five or pat on back! Thank you!

My first time going and I had a blast. Ordering food was kind of tedious, but I think that was just our order taker. But the food was great. I recommend the cookie. Rest was awesome. Laser tag, rope course, games, and bowling. Couldn't have had a better night with friends. Thank you! Hope they have one of these where I'm moving to.

Great place for the whole family to have some winter fun indoors! The price for a family of 5 to play bowling, billiards, laser tag and quite a few video games was a little over $200. We did play for 5 hours so it was a great value. The food was tasty and not insanely priced either. All around the staff was pretty good for as much as they had to do!

Kid friendly in activities but as big as it is and as many people I would not let your child go off on their own because you can't see them from a single spot.

Went with a family of 9 totally would understand a bit longer of a wait to get out food. unfortunately they just started bringing food out 1 at a time over a period of 45 min which then made my mother in law the last to get her rubbery cold burger while everyone else was already done eating. so my father in law asked to speak with the manager and she was a total joke, rude as can be from the second she walked up. Kindness goes a long way with this family so to walk up like a bat out of hell because we wanted to talk to her created way more issues. I would highly recommend if your going, eat beforehand and avoid anything but playing games.

This is where my grandson had his 5th birthday party complete with pizza, cake, and soft drinks. Each child also received a card loaded with points to play a big variety of arcade/carnival games. Tickets can be traded in a store in-site.

We went bowling with a family of 6 and the service was really poor. They apparently also just changed the menu, so what my kids wanted to order, they no longer had available. We ordered loaded fries and they came out cold, and the chicken strips we ordered didn’t taste good at all. The server didn’t come back by to refill drinks and I had to go find him to request anything. He was just talking to other staff and not paying attention. Then, when it was time to pay the bill, he just asked for my card and shows me the receipt on a screen he’s holding around his neck and I have to review, pay, and tip right there in front of him. Super uncomfortable and awkward.

  • Desirae Tira

Went to spend an evening with family. Pros: Bowling was fun, we enjoyed being able to add profile pictures. The kids loved the gravity walk. It was a fun atmosphere. Cons: Several of the games weren't working but took credits, we got tired of going back to the counter to ask for credits. Half of the Lazer tag vests/guns didn't work (most of the scores on the screen were zeros and the game was FULL. For as expensive as the activities and game passes are, you expect them to work properly. I'd rather see out of order signs then feel like I got taken when the credits are removed from my card without game play.

This place is taking advantage that there aren't other like it in the area. It is under staffed and not well maintained. We saw at least 4 games that were broken down. Not to mention the price needed to play each game. The whole night there was a 2 hour wait on the bowling lanes and the pool tables were completely full. We waited for about 20 minutes at the table before we got to see a server. On the bright side the food was really good other than the nachos, not much to talk about there, the rest was tasty. If you're looking to spends no less than 50 dollars on yourself and be in a crowded place then this is the place to be.

Me and my family came out of town and decided to visit the main event here in Kansas. We tried to get dinner and it was the WORSE service ever savana and her coworkers stood there and didn’t even decide to serve us. Another worker came and said he will be with us shortly he never came back and ended up coming back and sitting someone else. If we weren’t paying customers everything would’ve been fine but don’t have a staff who doesn’t wanna serve your guest! Worse service ever never will be coming back. Another note we had to order our food separate at the bar because they refuse to come help us at our table.

  • JoJofoodie

Came in for the kids to play. I had the loaded fries while I waited. Hostess and server were attentive and helpful. Server did a great job of getting what I needed in a timely manner and without having to stop by multiple times, which was perfect! The fries were hot and delicious, a tad salty. The music is really loud, but I suppose that creates the atmosphere and stops you from having to listen to kids screaming. Might be worth the trade off.

This is a great place to take the kids for fun. It's a little pricey, but they have options such as $7 per person unlimited play for activities like bowling. I found this worth it because we bowled first then played in the arcade, and came back and bowled another couple of games. The games in the arcade area range from $1-$5. The food price is pretty reasonable as well. The service here is on point. One of the managers named Chris noticed my girls were struggling with bowling and asked if he could get them a bowling ramp. He also helped us by taking or food order when we were ready to eat.

  • Joseph Cisneros

Server cut me off in middle of my order I clearly stated crispy chicken sandwich then retorted Nashville chicken?!!! never was asked what for side. I was still ordering when she started asking other what drinks they wanted then she got loud with me because I was pointing it out got to bowling lane piles trash everywhere. My first time there she ruinedy evening with my family from out of town . Pricey with mediocre to none on customer service. I won't be back. Stay home not worth being treated like that.

Everything was great except for shuffleboard, the main reason we went there. I took my fiance there for Father's Day. We enjoy shuffleboard, but we disappointed to see the setup. They have only two tables, placed so closely together you can't walk between them. They are so close to the pool tables we often had to wait for a player to make their shot before we could continue.

We went over Halloween the 29th at 8 pm! Experience was great until bowling! The kids wanted to use bumpers, but they had to remain up during the adults turns. So while the kids had fun it took away from the adults. The attendent added 10 min to bowl time but that still didn't change the experience sadly. We will return but hopefully it will be better!

Bowling was fun, but we waited forever for a server and were on a time crunch. Also, we purchased Lazer tag tickets and were told we were "all set" and took the tickets to the lazertag area where we were told to make a reservation at another area. Super confusing and irritating since we waited at the lazertag entrance for an employee for 10 minutes. Understaffed issues were super off-putting, especially for the costs of each person.

Great place for rainy day fun but don’t eat there. The service and food are terrible. We were there on March 21 and sign said, wait for hostess to be seated. After waiting and waiting, we finally just sat down, and that finally brought over the hostess from where she was visiting with two servers. When we needed refills, we had to go to the bar to get them. There were 7 of us and only the kids Mac N cheese tasted good.

The bathrooms hadn't been cleaned in some time and the faucets hardly run; good luck washing your hands. This is not an exaggeration: every single arcade machine I tried was broken, so I had the delightful experience of paying money to play on broken hardware. The one saving grace of the evening was the food and the food service. The food was very good and our server Tristan was kind and pleasant (thank you Tristan).

Came here to kill some time before heading to the airport and that was a great decision. It is close to the airport so don’t have to worry about traffic or anything when leaving here. We got a pass for $20 that allowed unlimited play for bowling, pool, and some other games as well. We spent few hours bowling and pool which was well worth the $20. We had some food, the chicken sandwich was a bug piece of meat and the seasoned fries were good, BLT salad was also a hit.

This was the worst experience, drinks after appetizers and still another 10 minutes after asking manager to I had to go retrieve my own child's Shirley Temple from the bar, and they still wanted me to pay. Threw a birthday party for my twins at Main Event today. The staff was amazing and took care of everything including packing up all of the presents and leftovers to a wagon to make it an easy single trip out to the car. They included a round of laser tag, time on the gravity ropes, arcade time and pizza and best of all was that the party coordinator managed it all. The kids all had a ball.

  • Anna

The best thing about this place is the food/drinks and bowling. Alot of the machines were either completely down or they would take credits for games without letting us play the game. When I asked for credits back the machine took, the lady at the desk only gave me about half of my credits. Kind of janky unless you're bowling.

This is an incredibly large, overwhelming place to be. There’s lots of noise and lights and distractions; unfortunately, there weren’t enough to distract us from all of the broken/faulty equipment in laser tag - our reason for being there that day. If you have the option of playing/hanging out anywhere else, I suggest trying that first. You’ll have a much better time.

  • M Bang

We had a birthday party for my 11 year old and it was awesome. The party planners meet us at the door and led us to our table. They were really kind and sweet to the kids. I was impressed by how clean and organized the place was. The party planners even joined us for laser tag and the boys had a blast! I would absolutely recommend this as a spot for a birthday party!

  • Stephanie Sumulong

We've gone here to bowl twice and the lanes are jacked up and curve in terrible ways. The pinsetters don't work properly and knock down extra pins and take away your chance to finish your turn. The games in the arcade are either broken or cheat you out of your credits---you swipe to play and the machine never turns on. We will never come back and waste our money.

My son and I visited this place for the first time and it was a great experience. The food was good and reasonably priced. The Gravity Ropes course was a great experience for my son. The only reason why I couldn't give it 5 stars is because of the prices for games. They're not horrible but I feel like they were a little pricey. Overall great experience though.

Went there for bowling and they gave the nicest facility! It’s a great place to bring friends and family out there and you can easily spend half a day or more. They also have food serve if you decided to have lunch or munchies. I like the arcade and all the machines there are very new and fancy. You can definitely find something that you can have fun with.

  • Amber Priest

Main Event is a blast. Perfect party location for any thrill seeker. Bowling laser tag some rope challenge where you walk like 18 ft above the whole arcade on a ropeslikecourse! Not for folks who dont like heights!! Arcade games and adult beverages to help with the noise!! Queso is sorta spicy like they added nacho cheese too their white queso. f#lavorful

It's great to know you can go to a place of joy and get threatened by another customer but the second you make a complaint about being threatened to staff members you are the one that asked to leave completely disrespectful and unsafe environment none of the staff cares about your safety or well being

I went bowling in the afternoon of a weekday, it was very quiet but a great place for entertainment. My only critique would be that the background noise due to machines and music was a little loud considering how few people were present and that does not accommodate conversation well.

Fun place to take my kids bowling. Had a couple of issues with the bumpers not going away and the lane kept needing to be reset. Last time we went, had to ask for service three times before anyone came over.

This place has excellent service. I do think the arcades can get expensive if your looking to take your kids here. But they have a wide selection of fun stuff. Bowling: I had a lot of fun. They feature a booth for where you sit. And the retro animation option is my favorite. If your looking to shake things up they have a game mode it’s 30$ per hour.

Overall a great place to have fun with great food options. A few of my buddies and I had a blast bowling. The atmosphere was fun to be around and just made it an outstanding experience.

It was lots of fun but if you want to have a perfect expirence bowling I do not recommend. When we went the bumpers were not functioning properly and the pins would knock over because of the machine, a few times the scoreboard also did not give points to people. We had fun and made the most out of it but if you are competitive I don't recommend it.

  • Aaron Benjamin

Service was super great, everyone I interacted with was super nice! I went with a group of friends for arcade games and bowling. There were a quite a few games that were malfunctioning while still open, but enjoyed the variety! Bowling was a blast and service was great, only complaint was the chicken was rubbery and seemed undercooked.

  • Christina Galetti

We had are son's 9th birthday there today. The host was great but the communication lacked and they hurried us after eating. The cards they gave us for the children were on a timer and our party goers where at another event. We spent a big chunk of money... 30$ per child with 15 kids.... we won't be having our party there again.

  • Brian Chilton

Place was clean and really exciting when we walked in, but our service wasn't the best. Most the employees where dancing and singing, which looked like fun but my family and I were never wasnt asked if we wanted anything to drink or eat. Our bumpers wouldn't come up on our bowling lane either. Was a pretty disappointing trip.

  • John Gillock

Nygel was FANTASTIC. He helped us which everything we needed . We were there for a birthday and he made sure he worked it out with the manager to get us a second hour of bowling. VERY GRATEFUL FOR THIS , we definitely were not ready to leave yet. Thank you nygel for making sure we got to bowl as long as we needed/wanted :)

Date night with my girl so we decided to play some games. Got a drink at the bar and ordered a couple appetizers to snack on. The drinks weren't particularly great and it's hard to mess up chips and dips. Seems like a good place to kill a little time with loved ones.

My granddaughter had her 7th birthday party there and she was so excited. The whole Family did enjoy being there. The young lady who assisted at the party was so nice and kind. She was really engaging with the children.Asking questions, listening, smiling just being there when we needed her. It was organized perfectly.

  • Jonathan Soper

Went to play pool and have lunch with friends. Cost $80 for a beer four soft drinks pretzel sticks, chicken nachos and two chicken baskets!! The only, repeat ONLY good thing was the beer. Even the soda had an off taste to it! Don’t know what happened, they used to have good food there. That is not the case anymore.

  • Harrison Staab (Harry)

Our company spent an evening here and had a blast. I believe we called ahead and got some discounts for wristbands and unlimited play cards. Whatever they arranged, we enjoyed ourselves bowling, Lazer tagging, and playing arcade games. Place seems fun for both kids and adults alike with lots to do. Friendly staff.

  • kai James

overall experience was great. at least 5 games broken and took credits. one worker was completely rude. didn’t catch his name but he seemed new. he would blankly stare at us when we asked for something and also didn’t help when we told him our credits were stolen from broken machines.

A safe fun plave for kids of all ages. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The food was delicious with a wide variety of choices. The food was something I would expect from upscale restaurant without the price. Great place for families to spend a day or evening.

  • Exavier Pinkston

Decided to do a 2nd review. The restrooms are decent, 2 out of the 6 toilets needed to be flushed, a couple of paper towels weren’t picked up, probably from kids, other than that, the toilet paper, paper towels, and soap dispenser were fully stocked for customers‼️☺️

I would say its 4 stars would be 5 stars if y’all can Maintance the arcade games most of them had error code on it, took my points more then 4 machines. But employees are professional and its clean environment though! Good work!

Had family in from out of town who had not been before. We played laser tag, lip line and played games. My cousin's also played a couple games of pool. I spent about $18 but that's on the cheap end. They probably spent $30. We had a blast! Will definitely go back.

Fun family outing or birthday party spot. Lots of hand sanitizer placed throughout the entire building. Friendly and helpful staff. Reasonable prices for what you get. And something for every age group! The prize center does a good job of refreshing the prizes.

This is an absolute joke of an arcade. Half the games didn't work when we swiped our cards, and the other half double charged us. Told customer service and we were met with an " I'm to busy to be doing that right now" no thank you Main Event. Good luck. More

  • Ron Siebert

We had a great time and the kids loved it. There is plenty to do and even when there's a line for one thing, there's something else to do while waiting. Kids loved the laser tag and sky rope course. We spent hours bowling and playing some pool . It's great.

  • Verlee Gilkerson

Great family place! We had a lot of fun bowling then the kids went to the arcade. There was food and drink but we didn't partake as we went to lunch before hand. Be prepared to spend some money but not priced any higher than most arcades and bowling alleys.

Fun place to take the kids before or after dinner. Only issue is we lost money on the photo machine. And 1000 points when we hit a jackpot on one of the games. But the front desk rep was nice and added points onto our card when we brought it up to her.

  • Ron Gambell

Great family place. Something for everyone, from bowling, laser tag, video games for the kids to pool and shuffle board for the adults. Great food and drinks, tv's every where for watching sporting events, music videos, or what ever else they have on.

  • Ellen Nabeti

We stopped after 6 hours in the car with a 6 and 8 year old. Perfect place to grab some food and burn off energy before returning to the car for a few more hours. MK at laser rage was outstanding! Kids eat free Tuesday was a pleasant surprise as well!

  • Mary Olive Joyce

Fun, clean place. Only concern was the chicken dippers on the kids menu were spicy and my six year old wouldn’t eat any more than the initial bite. I would have thought that something on the kids menu would have been a bland slam dunk…I was wrong.

  • Jonnetta Marie

It was loud, bright, and exciting. The game machines ran on cards given by the establishment (not coins), laser tag is 2 stories tall with lots of spots and ramps not stairs. Bowling was cool, they had 8lb balls with big holes. I approve. …

  • Maccoy Sovereign

Food was good and service was okay for how busy the place was, but the recurring theme was the bowling lanes keep getting stuck I the reset motion. Leaving us all waiting for a employee to come over and fix it . Wasting the time we paid for.

  • Zola Taylor

Charlene was the best and she has the most welcoming attitude and she’s very polite and inviting. She made my birthday a wonderful day and I appreciate her beautiful attitude. She made the day and experience a memorable one. Thanks CHARLENE
