Let me start with what happened after the meal as this was the most important of it all. After finishing our meal and waiting on the check I heard a worker yelling at someone about how messy the back (kitchen area) was and how much mold there was. My boyfriend was facing the kitchen and he said the door opened and it was just disgusting in there. Thank God my daughter, boyfriend or I didn't get sick afterwards. Prices were more expensive than a nicer Mexican restaurant. Took about 30 minutes to get the food, it wasn't busy. Even the server kept coming by and telling us it seemed to be taking a long time for the food to come out. We were just about to walk out and pay for our drinks at the front but the server came out with the food just at the time we were about to leave. The tortilla soup was thicker than the regular broth almost like enchilada soup. I ate a couple bites but couldn't bring myself to eat anymore than that, the server never asked how our food was at this point I didn't want to complain about the soup and deal with that or stay a second longer than needed. She asked if I wanted a bowl for it which I told her no and she never asked if there was something wrong with it either so I didn't bother with it. I haven't been here in years and will not be going back mainly because if a worker is complaining about the state of the back area/kitchen area than it must be bad.

The food was amazing!! Service was kinda slow to start... It took a while to get our water and we had to ask twice... But after that everything went very well. Laurie was our waitress and she was very polite and had great knowledge if the menu. She suggested items based on what we said we liked and got our orders perfectly correct. I got two enchiladas, one shredded beef (my favorite, loaded with flavor) and one shredded chicken (also very good but not as flavorful), cream cheese style. Their jalapeno cream cheese sauce is amazing !! I have been looking for a place for two years since we moved here that does "enchiladas de crema" and finally found one!! I love the classic sit down, chips and salsa, and margaritas. My husband got shrimp something or other and he said it was amazing!! We also shared a mixed berry Manuel's margarita with silver tequila. It was delicious. The salsa was great and it came with a side of hot sauce if you needed more spice. The whole dinner was a little pricey costing us about $50 including tip, but the quality of service and the deliciousness of the food will definitely see us back there. The owner even came out to say hello at the end of our meal as we told the waitress it was our first visit. We also like the decor and general friendly, cozy atmosphere.

We go here every Friday night for last 2 years. Servers in Cantina are the best. They know our order when we sit down and are very friendly. But the issue is trying to get seated. If the older gentleman is at the podium it is hard to get seated in the Cantina. He sits everyone he knows before before those who have name on wait list. Was about to leave today since Sat 9 parties that came in after us. When told have been waiting for table to open in cantina and response can see 1 that has been open for last 15 minutes. Response received we are not seating that table. About to walk out and they can finally seat us. And have now missed happy hour since had to wait 30 minutes for table that was probably available when we got there. Get to cantina and 6 tables are available….seriously! Table that was available while we waited was finally seated when we were finishing our dinner. Guess the older host does not care about repeat guests. Not sure we will be back if he continues to play “host” during busy times.

Our family has been eating at Manuel's Mexican Food since Alice had her first restaurant at 32nd and Indian School Road, back in the 1960s! Your question should be, "Is it the best?" The answer is simple; a great big YES!. The little restaurant which Alice had is long since gone, but family members throughout the valley have taken the original recipes and expanded the restaurant's reach and fame. This restaurant on Bell, is close to where we live, and we eat there at least twice a month, and even more frequently when the weather is great and we can sit on the patio. The lunch menu is my favorite, as there's a host of economical tasty choices. I like the chimichanga and substitute machaca beef, my mom-in-law loves the green corn tamale. One of the best things is that no matter which Manuel's you choose, the food is ALWAYS consistent, the service is both fast and friendly, and you can count on an amazing overall experience. Give yourself a treat today, and come to Manuel's...

I went in with a party of 13 and splitting the check by 4 and the waitress was great! She was quick, friendly, checked in on us often, and had no issue chatting it up with the toddlers that held her up while ordering. Lol it was kids eat free night with an order of an adult meal and my check consisted of just me and 3 kids. She went out of her way to put the kids' meals on the others check so their meals were free. I have even noticed that was going on so I appreciated that. The food was great! Large portions and despite their prices being raised since my last time in, still worth the price! Will definitely go back again! PS oh and it was for a birthday and I lived that they all came out singing and gave a free dessert to the birthday boy!

Am visiting from Los Angeles and decided to have some lunch but this place stunk. Our server was old so she was slow and rude and couldn’t even get my kids meal right it took her like three times to bring out the right food that was actually ordered. Never got our to go drinks and our plates that were dirty just sat at our table never even picked up or anything. The food took almost half an hour to get to us when the restaurant was dead but she had to keep going back because like I said she kept messing up my kids food like hello what don’t you understand about what I’m ordering it’s not hard she should of written everything down instead of trying to memorize them. Idk if it’s poor management where they make you remember without pen and paper or if she just doesn’t follow rules. Definitely wouldn’t be back to this place and wouldn’t recommend to people visiting either.

My wife and I went into our favorite location and it was Sun June 25 23. I just got out of the hospital from major surgery and was moving slow. We wanted to celebrate me being out of the hospital. The hostess first wanted to seat us in the lounge ( I'm not drinking ), that was my remark, she said table or both I said either. I was moving SLOW do to surgery. The hostess turned around said, " Do You Want To Eat Or What?" How RUDE we have eating there for over a decade! And have never been treated like this and on top of it the hostess had a nasty smerk on her face. I called the restaurant after walking out saying How RUDE.! Called the Manager in the parking lot and advised him he asked me to come back in . I refused and drove off. This looks Very Bad for the hostess! Having been in the restaurant industry this is an absolute no no.

I came here after a long and not so great day at work, car broke down, just wanted a good meal to brighten up my day, never ordered from here before and called to order a burger, was told the burger came with bacon, came home and had no bacon, and on top of that it was the most bland burger ive truly ever had, zero flavor and dry, very disappointing addition to my day, looked like it was previously frozen, the fries were decent, the people who answered the phone for the order were friendly and the manager was friendly when i asked for the burger to be remade at a later date, after trying the burger though, I will not be going back for that remake, my burger and fries was absolutely not worth $17, I do not recommend the burger

We've been to this Manuel's twice in the last couple of months. One time we ate in the bar area and yesterday we sat in the dining room. Both were lunches. The restaurant is clean, well decorated and has a friendly staff. Both times our servers were very nice and did a great job of staying on top of refilling our drinks and replenishing our chips & salsa supply. Both times I was there...because it was so tasty...I had the Pollo Especial lunch special. There are two types of salsa served here. One hot and one that is more of a pico de gallo. The latter is my favorite! I recommend Manuel's and will definitely return. It's right around the corner from Turf Paradise so we make an afternoon of it with family!

Not having a good time at all. Terrible!!! Chips have no salt..completely flavorless. Husband added lots of salt still pretty bad. NO VARIETY on the menu whatsoever. Extremely limited options. First time eating here. Neighbors of ours have highly recommended this beforehand. We went them to eat lunch. Large onsite parking. The place is extremely big inside. Got seated right away. Wanted a booth and were immediately accommodated. Zane our waiter was right there and got us waters, chips, and salsa. The salsa is delicious and mild. Zaane was professional. courteous, and personable. Assisted us in ordering and flexible with each order for substitutions. The menu is huge with many various Mexican dishes. We recommend the back page of Senior menus and " special" Monday pricing for meals. We wife and I ordered a beef taco and chicken enchilada. Large portions. Delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant.

One of the better chain restaurants. I like the Bell location better than the one on Peoria. The food is better, maybe better kitchen staff, not sure. My husband feels the same way. He had the grilled fish tacos and said they were good. I had combo #5 which is taco, cheese enchilada, and tostada. I appreciated that the enchilada was on its own plate so the other items were not all saucy and soggy. All items were good. Enchilada was better with hot sauce on it as I prefer some spice. They have salsa and hot sauce which is served I've an ample size dish. Chips were light and crispy and good; although served in a very small bowl in comparison. Mexican restaurants having homemade hot sauce in addition to salsa is one of my main requirements to frequent a place.

Awesome awesome Mexican food great dining the people who work there, the servers they are just so friendly outgoing, they really take care of their customers. The restaurant was very clean awesome drinks. They have a bar on one side of the building and they have a restaurant on the other side of the building and they're always always packed so if you need to make a reservation or walk in it's a great place to eat and I give it five stars and thumbs up.I had so much so fun with our party we had 12 people in our group name make sure every one of us was taken care of and happy so I tell everybody the meat good place to have lots of fun near me and drink

We have been to Manual's many times. The food is good, but this time the waiter forgot to put in my wife's order and she didn't get her food till the rest of the family was over half done eating. There was no excuse for that. Her food order was told to waiter before mine, yet my food came out no problem. The manager never said anything when she came by the table, she just spoke to the kids. There is no offer of half off wife's food or her food for free, and no apologies from the manager. This time, 7-7-23, we must have had a new waiter. He didn't come back to ask how dinner was. We even asked for a to go box, but after a while, we asked someone else, and they brought it before our waiter.

Ordered through GrubHub - Chili Relleno and a Green chili quesidilla - they decided that I wanted my Relleno inside the quesidilla and didn't even bother with giving me the green chili which usually green chili pork - Great Job Manual's - makes me sad I used to work at the original restaurant - smh; then restaurant can't do anything - got a refund for relleno from grub hub and who knew it was hiding in the cheese crisp!!!! REALLY!!!! WHO does this - oh that is right Manual's - Can't get my food and now trying to figure out what we are serving our guests - what the heck!!!!! Really is this the standard - WOW!!!!! UPDATE! Restaurant really came through and delivered a new Relleno and a new Cheese Crisp - Thank you Cindy!!!!

We came here as a recommendation from my brother, since we're mostly disappointed by the lackluster Mexican food places around. The parking lot was full on a Friday afternoon, so that was a good sign. The restaurant smells AMAZING, first off. The wait staff is super friendly. Ours was Brandon, and he was very attentive and freindly. The food capped of the whole experience, which was so, so good. You will not be disappointed. The Baja fish tacos were warm and fresh. The steak tacos were juicy and so worth it. And to top it all off, the Mexican rice was actually edible, and not just that thing that you sort of eat because it's there and you don't want to feel bad about yourself for wasting food. Definitely recommend.

Lived near here for over 20 years and never went to this place for some reason......went last Saturday to have a beer and watch the Diamondbacks game...bartender wouldn't put the game on until he was sure we were going to order drinks and food, which I thought was quite strange. Almost got up and left right then! Old school Mexican fare the likes of which I have not enjoyed for a very long time! Just delicious Northern Mexican food! Place has been there forever so it's kinda tired looking...staff was great (after they learned that we were serious, paying customers) LOL....great place that we will definitely re-visit!

Manuels has the thinnest chips, the best salsa, and hands down the best hot sauce of all the regular Mexican restaurants around. Both are made just right. Their red chile is at the top of the list as well. The fajita are the same as everyone elses, the chimis are better than most and the tacos and enchiladas always please. I've been eating at Manuel's for over 25 years and will continue to do so for another 25. Manuel's does not dissapoint.

Had a lovely lunch here today! We tried the pollo especial (letter E on the lunch special menu), carne asada burrito a la carte, and the kids meal chicken strips and cheese crisp. All the food was cooked well and was very tasty! Large portions! The complimentary chips and salsa were delicious too. Our waitress' name was Vickie and she was so kind and attentive! Always asked us if we needed anything and kept our drinks filled! She was also so sweet to our children (which goes far in my book!) The atmosphere inside is relaxing. The decor is very beautiful as well! We will definitely come back to Manuel's!

Items missing from order (2 of 3 tacos). Spoke to the “manager.” Not customer service oriented. Long-time customer of “Stephanie’s” family (since I was little. I’m a native). She was trying to blame Postmates, which was not the issue. Postmates had our order correct, Stephanie had it wrong, and would not correct. Would not order again. It’s my birthday too. She said the restaurant was “closed” and would not fix their error. Photos prove it was not Postmates but rather the person entering the order at Manuel’s. You’re welcome. Sorry Manuel’s, your legacy is not being upheld with your values.

6 of us went there yesterday thursday june 1st in the afternoon. Not busy. It took 15 minutes to get our water, almost an hour to get our food. It was tasteless and just barely warm. the owners were just standing around and when I tried to ask for help they walked away. There was a fist fight with three young girls right in front of the entrance. The owner went out there and let the two girls in that were beating up the other girl and I could not tell what happened to the girl who they were beating up. I will not go there again!

Food was plain jane!! I got two chicken flautas! It's loaded with oil, and it wasn't fresh , it's looks and taste like it was precook , not cook as guest orders . My bf got steak, it was black as it can be but it wasn't cook as i told them i wanted well done, they took it back and cook it again, time it come out i was full in chips, but the steak has so much blackness on it i literally had to scrape, the chalk or whatever it was. Visited this location on Mothers Day for dinner, it was great We normally only go to the Manuel's on cave creek because the green corn tamales are the best however, I was very impressed.. The green corn Tamales were bomb and the atmosphere was even better. super chill and updated . They even had a balloon animal guy walking around making balloon animals for kids... it has been a very long time since I remember seeing a balloon artist at restaurants... love love love that!

The Mexican food here is very good. I especially love the Hot salsa, it is much better than the other locations which keeps me coming back here. I am surprised that an organization this successful and established has different salsas at different locations. I recommend sitting in the cantina, service is a little faster beverages come out colder.

Everything was just great about Manuel's! From the starter nachos with a huge bowl of excellent salsa to the substantial and delicious fajitas to the super-flavorful enchiladas. The tortillas for the fajitas were very large so just a couple of BIG fajitas rolled up are quite filling. But of course we had to try enchiladas and they didn't disappoint. Very tasty beef, almost as good chicken, and interesting and very good spinach were all part of the three amigos. Alas, no room for dessert, but we'll be back and we'll try to leave some room!

Manuels is my go to for chimis and salsa. Tonight I ordered my usual chicken fajita chimi. Normally the veggies are cooked wonderfully and are gloriously caramelized. Tonight the veggies didn't appear to be cooked. Additionally, there was so. Much. Salt. Sadly, I didn't enjoy it. I may try to open the rest of it up and cook it myself... but wow... disappointed

We went to eat after church today...again!...it's so nice that Manuel's gives us the option of breakfast or lunch!!! The "carnitas dinner" is the best thing on the menu (in my opinion! Great chips (thin, crispy, not at all greasy) & salsa —they bring 2 kinds, a medium that was perfect and tasty, and a thicker hotter one with a slightly smoky flavor. Both were excellent. My Texas margarita was just right, not overly sweet, garnished with both orange and lime, and you could actually tell it had alcohol in it (vs non-existent or packing too much of a punch). Everyone liked their entrees (tacos, taco salads, street tacos). We’ll be back!

I'm one to give a good review if one is deserved. Our server was Nick, from time we sat down I almost want to say bad service started. 20 min to get drink order. Didn't get our order correct. I'm still wondering what the attraction to this place is, been here 3 times and still horrible service and food. If you are looking for taco bell go there because you will get better food and service. Or go to Barria Queen on 7th and cave creek! Superb service and real Mexican food.

Party of 16! First off, the reason for 2 stars instead of 1, is for the friendly staff. Now! The silverware that’s pre-wrapped was gross and unsanitary. I have attached the silverware that I received. Second. I ordered Ground beef and got shredded on my chimichanga. That’s not a huge issue, except the fact that it was undercooked is what upsets me. They had also messed up on several other orders. First time coming here and most likely last.

Ordered online Pollo Especial. Menu says it’s chunks of chicken. I didn’t want shredded chicken which is what the very nice person who took the order said it would have. He checked with the kitchen who said I could have the Fajita Chicken meat for $5.00 more. My advice for management is to correct the menu to say shredded, not chunks of, chicken. Also, $5.00 is a little pricey for the difference in my opinion.

Met some new friends here since they are local and I didn't have a suggestion. Food was very good and reasonably priced for the portion sizes. Our waitress was Brittney and she was wonderful. Someone had a birthday and the staff sang which I've seen before, but it was a funny song and they poked fun at the birthday person getting old, so that was a treat. Plenty of seating, a nice size bar in the back half, and outdoor patio seating too. I would eat here again, so give them a try.

Good food. Always busy and prices are on the high end, more so with the new menu. No doubt they have priced inflation in earlier than other restaurants. But the food is good and we keep coming back. Parking can be a real pain after 4pm. Update:. 7/11/22 Well that menu is still the same and doesn't seem so high now

First time there, visiting from out of town. The food was excellent! Especially the beef fajitas, the best we've ever had! The service was great! All server's and staff were very friendly and attentive. The only reason I left off one star is because I ordered a Long Island ice tea which was horrible. Always my choice of drink but probably the worst I've ever had. But that was my only complaint, everything else was great! Will definitely come back when I m visiting this way again!

I felt that the menu seemed a little pricey, but prices EVERYWHERE have gone up. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Service was timely. Was not too busy when I was there on a Wednesday 7pm. Had a club anniversary and farewell dinner. We asked for a quiet, large booth. Server was understanding when the party came in at different times. Service was very good - she explained the meals and served quickly. Each person ordered some thing different a d there were a couple of modification. She took it all in stride. The food was served hot. Server took pictures of the group. She was always smiling. Very good food, excellent service - who could ask for anything else?

I’ve been to Manuel’s many times with coworkers and the food has always been top notch with good service to boot. However the last time I was the there the service was OUTSTANDING. Tiana was our server for a big lunch with a lot of people. She was on top of it during a very busy lunch hour and just so kind. She was utterly fantastic and attentive. Really, I can’t say enough good things about how she served us.

Iguana margarita tasted great. Steak fajitas were sizzling with flavor on the corn tortillas. The non chunky salsa was choice. Very friendly staff. I'll definitely be back.

We have been going to Manuel's for years and have not been disappointed, but this time was different. The meat dish we ordered was so tuff, you could hardly chew it. The waitress told us that this dish would be plenty of food for two people, but there were two small pieces of steak and two of chicken. Most of the dishes were onions and bellpeppers, and the refried beans were soupy.

We have not been to Manuel's in years. My fiance and u returned Sunday on the 16th and the food qas great! But I'm leaving a review on our server! Her name was Taylor, I believe I spelled it right. She was amazing! So attentive and very polite! She was beyond friendly and I have not received such good and thorough service in a long time! She definitely deserves the credit!!!

First time here and I loved it. Hostess, greeter, waiter, and everyone who helped me with my experience here was like I was in a movie or something drinks came quick , waiter was prompt and my chips and salsa were served right when I sat down and my order was perfect. Friendly staff, the food WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! The rice was so delicious, as was everything else really. The salsa was excellent, fresh and well prepared. The food came out less than8 mins after ordering, consistent refills, and plenty of cold beverages to choose from. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys Mexican food with flavor

If I could give zero stars, I would. Placed a huge to go order and 2 meals were missing. Called to pick them up and upon the second trip home, one of the green Chilli burritos was just rolled up tortillas. And of course, I got food poisoning that night. Avoid this place like the plague.

Great weekly deals, we come often and I've never heard a single complaint from my group about the food. It's consistently great. I like to get the carnitas plate and their mixed drinks are tasty. Staff is friendly and accommodating. The patio is nice, it has some small fountains and they can lower the sides and turn on heaters if it's chilly.

Went with my uncle and aunt for an early dinner. The staff was gracious and knowledgeable about all menu items. We were able to get a table without much of a wait. Waitress took forever to take our order. Didn't bring our drink till almost our food got there. Never checked on us, she was too busy with her other party. She asked if I needed a to go box. I said yes, please. 15 min later I asked someone else if they could get me one and my check. I've been going here for many years. Service has gotten so bad. Did is good. Service is very poor!!

Manuel's catered our daughter's wedding at Lake Pleasant. They did a fabulous job! Cindy was so easy to work with and accommodated all of our needs. She provided so many helpful recommendations to make the day special. Oh yes, and the food was great! The staff went above and beyond and made things so easy for us. I would highly recommend Manuel's for any catering you might need.

Haven't been here in years, but I didn't remember being as good as it was this time! Really enjoyed the food! Burrito Especial was really good! This time the service was really good!

Had the opportunity to try this Restaurant, Family owned and the family are very nice people, the inside dining is amazing as is the food also, If you are a light weight on spicy salsa ask for the mildest and a side of sour cream, had the Bacon Cheeseburger and oh my it was Delicious, told the family I will most definitely be back! Highly recommend this place to eat <3

One of my fave Mexican restaurants to go sit at the cantina by myself. Everyone is always so friendly. Sometimes its hard to get the bartenders attention because they mingle with the regulars alot but its not super noticeable. The food is ok, I have a few faves that I love. Their mangonada margarita is my favorite!!

I hosted an event for about 30 people. The delivery was on time. They set everything up so the presentation was really nice and the food stayed hot. The best part was the food was delicious and everyone I dealt with at Manuel's was super nice and very professional. I would highly recommend the 11th Avenue and Bell Manuel's to cater a party/event.

We went today for our first time, we were very impressed with being greeted and seated quickly and the friendly staff, our server was quick to bring our beverages and took our food order, order came at a resealable time and food was extremely good. We highly recommend this establishment!

We catered Manuel’s for our Halloween party yesterday. Everything was absolutely delicious. Our guests raved about the steak fajitas. The salsa and tortillas were fresh. We also ordered a couple trio platter and they were delicious too. Everything was so good and packaged well. Thank you! We will definitely use Manuel’s in the future!!

This is one of my favorite Mexican go to places. The Monday/Tuesday special is usually what we go for. The staff are very friendly. The managers come out and visit. They're all very kind and they remember a face. We've made some great friends there over the years. It's also where I take visiting family whenever they're in town.

Have always enjoyed the excellent, authentic Sonoran Mexican food at both North Phoenix locations. Chimichangas are amazing! Highly recommend.

Tasty cantina style Mexican with all the classics. Great for lunch or dinner with fast and friendly service with the classic tortilla chips and salsa complimentary. Great options of margaritas and after settling on the chicken chimichanga I was thrilled it came out in under 10 minutes
