Martha's Bakery is a hidden gem that I stumbled upon during my visit to town, and I couldn't have been more delighted. This charming bakery offers a delightful array of freshly baked goods that are sure to please any palate. Upon entering Martha's Bakery, I was greeted by the warm aroma of freshly baked bread and pastries. The display cases were filled with an enticing selection of treats, from flaky croissants to decadent cakes and everything in between. The presentation of each item was impeccable, showcasing the craftsmanship and attention to detail. I decided to try their signature chocolate chip cookies, and they were simply heavenly. The cookies were soft, chewy, and packed with generous amounts of gooey chocolate chips. Each bite was a burst of flavor and melted in my mouth, leaving me craving for more. What truly sets Martha's Bakery apart is their commitment to using high-quality ingredients and traditional baking techniques. You can taste the difference in every bite. The staff members were friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about their craft. They were more than happy to assist with any questions or recommendations. Wasn’t blown away, maybe we ordered the wrong things, will definitely try again! Unfortunately we didn’t order anything that anyone recommended so maybe that’s our fault. We were underwhelmed with what we did order though. The vegan cake had lots of weird flavors to it, and of course that’s because you’re not using dairy but it left an overall weird taste in the mouth, maybe it was the icing. The pistachio gelato didn’t have a good pistachio flavor. The warm chocolate cake was good but tiny. It’s was as if we were at a fancy restaurant and they give you a small dessert to top off a heavy meal for $10. It’s also more of a lava cake and not like the cakes you see on display. The atmosphere is great and so is the service, it was packed when we went but they made it as quick as possible for us to get seating without rushing us to get the check when we’re done. For that alone I’m willing to come back and try other options.

Visiting from Pittsburgh and a friend recommended this bakery. Everything looked amazing and I wanted to take it all home. The chalk menu is beautiful but not accurate, so be patient if they don't have things listed. We sat in and ordered coffee and a pastry before getting more desserts to go. Service was wonderful, coffee was delicious and the dessert was amazing. I got the espresso fredo and cinnamon stick (more like a log!) and my partner got a slice of blueberry pie since they didn't have cherry. We got the pistachio croissant, Nutella croissant, chocolate croissant, Nutella cookie, Linzer tart, and Oreo cake pops to go (sorry no pictures). Everything was great but the pistachio croissant and Linzer cookie were the best. Highly recommend and can't wait to visit again.

Cafe with a resident DJ and overly decadent desserts. This was place was interesting. They have a wide variety of desserts — ranging from cake slices, pies, eclairs, to mousse — and an expansive menu of drinks, including milkshakes. If you have a sweet tooth, this place might be for you. We got strawberry shortcake and chocolate fudge. The strawberry slice was fluffy, not too sweet, and simple. The fudge was moist, decadent, and a little too sweet for me. Next to the hallway towards the bathroom, they had a DJ playing hip hop music, which I found interesting. The music was loud, and there were a lot of groups at the seating area. I think this could be a good late night spot for those who want a sweet midnight snack.

Every time I come to Brooklyn I stop at this place. I absolutely love it! It's more than just a bakery, it's really an experience. It reminds me of a place in San Diego called Extraordinary Desserts. I really like Martha's because it's like a dessert restaurant. On the weekends they have a dj playing in the back. It's the coolest vibe with the music and dimmed lights! I also like that they close at 1 am on Fridays and Saturdays. I've always had great customer service here and delicious drinks and pastries. The berry napoleon is my favorite. The health bar cookie warmed is delicious too. The lattes, cappuccinos, matcha lattes, and hot teas are all delicious! This will always be my favorite spot!

I ABSOLUTELY love Martha’s. All locations are great. I make my way to MCB every time I’m in NYC. I have tried many things and everything is perfect. Quality ingredients and consistency every time, what more could you ask for. I love mostly all their cakes, Lemon Coconut cake is my favorite, Cherry Pie, Berry Napoleon, Espresso Milkshake. Pictures include Caramel Macchiato, Tres Leche Cake. And Slices to go of course.

Everything looks delicious and tasted delicious. The direction however was confusing. We originally wanted to do takeout then changed our mind to eat in. The lady behind the counter directed us to have a seat and that they will bring it out. We then walked from the line to the hostess stand and the attitude we received from the girl was unprofessional and hostile. It definitely ruins the experience of sitting down. I would rather be able to pickup at the counter and then sit down rather than being forced to sit down with a menu and wait 20 minutes for two slices of cake to come out and tip for mediocre “service”.

May I just say that this bakery is one of my favorite bakery in NYC. Mind you I live in the Bronx & my partner & I will always travel here to Bk just to get their delicious cake pops, reg cake but the best for me is their BANANA PUDDING!!! I just tried it last week & I had an orgasm! Very creamy & they even put real bananas in the pudding. To the employee ladies keep up the good work. You always come in time to help & provide us the best service. If you’re anywhere in the city, I would recommend everyone to come eat some good deserts at Martha’s. See you again this weekend! :)

While exploring the neighborhood Martha's country bakery caught my attention and decided to give this place a try. The shop really has a great selection of desserts and bakery products, so much that it was getting bit confusing on what to order. I ended up with cannoli and my friend ended up with Napoleon Berry pastry and pistachio macaron. The cannoli cream was good and wasn't too sweet as per my liking whereas the pistachio macaron felt good, also heard from my friend that the pastry was great! Definitely coming over here next time to try out more things!

Man I love this place but the service is sooooo slow. If you’re seated at one of their many tables, expect at least an hour to receive your food+plus check (and I’m talking about if you order a muffin and coffee). If I come here on a busy Sunday, or a Monday afternoon when it’s dead, it’s always the same. Kind of frustrating and after a decade of living in this neighborhood, this reason alone is why I’ve decided to go elsewhere to enjoy my coffee.

My new reference in NY Great place with wonderful treats in an inspiring environment. Old meets young, crazy meets normal, all for cakes. Jasmine tea and sour cream pie was a lunch portion rather than dessert. Staff was super friendly and relaxed. Like in European cafe Toilet could be more clean. I'll be back Update: I must confess I have sinned: Been there again is it just me or do they become better ever day. Maybe it was just the craving for the best cakes in town. The very best. Update 06/25/2022: still fantastic

OK, so I am a first time visitor in the city. And I love all things baked. The appealing exterior of this Shop drew me inside instantly. And let the pictures speak for themselves. I will say, though that the bread pudding I tried looked better than it actually tasted, the ice-cream was low quality but the portions, the service and the environment made it overall a great experience. My friend had the apple and ricotta pie and was going to share it with me. After one bite she firmly stated, “I’m not sharing this with anyone.”

  • liz

Went with me and my friend. Service was really nice. It was just me and her so seating was quick. there were many other open tables and it was like nearly 1pm so not extremely busy. The food was good as well as the drink. the lady who took our orders was nice and explained to us what exactly a crème brûlée was made up of. The environment felt welcoming. perfect place if you want to come alone just for coffee and dessert either to read or maybe do a little laptop work/homework. definitely visiting again when i’m near by!

Went in to Martha’s today for some cupcakes with my wife. Got 6 hazelnut cupcakes as that’s our favorite. When we got home we were very disappointed. The cupcakes were not fresh and spongy and moist like we are used to. Been coming ti Martha’s for years now and today was so disappointing. Sadly wr just threw them away. Don’t know what happened but we made the trip from Bedstuy just for them and we’re very disappointed. I hope it was just a one off or something cos we are used to amazing cupcakes from Martha’s.

Where can you enjoy delicious cakes and pastries in a club-like atmosphere on a Saturday night? The ambiance of the sit down portion of Martha’s Bakery is great to enjoy after-dinner cake and pastries in an upbeat environment with friends. This is the best place to be after you eat at home or have dinner with a date, if you’re into those double headers. Staff is friendly, efficient, and professional. I cannot say enough how pleasant they are. It’s old time bakery quality meets new age modern vibes.

  • Lo

I love coming here because they close so late at midnight. There are always seats because it’s a big shop, the selections are good, the music is good and sometimes there is even a DJ on the weekends. Families come here and also people on their first dates. It’s traditional for us to come for dessert after having dinner. I recommend my favorites: BANANA CREME Pie, STRAWBERRY CHEESECAKE, NAPOLEAN, AFFOGATO, chocolate CAKE. Chill, eat, leave feeling happy and full. The cakes are a shareable size FYI.

  • Aileen S

They have good cheesecake but came here for a cake and decided to try their rice pudding. Also got a vanilla latte with oatmilk. The tres leches had some sort of peach or fruit on the bottom and was more bright than creamy. The rice pudding was very raisin heavy and the raisins were huge. Unfortunately looks like/ feels like the latte was made with regular milk based on the foam/ taste. It did come back would maybe just get a slice to go but not sit down again.

  • Nour Ibrahim

We went in to have a slice of cake to go, then decided to sit and eat it. The server came and asked us to move to a different table because we were only two people and we ordered to go when this is kept for bigger groups. I would have not minded moving if they actually needed the table for a bigger group but the place literally had 4 tables like this one completely empty!! That’s an extremely rude way to treat paying customers. The cake average. Not worth it.

I sent them a picture of a cake my daughter wanted for her birthday dinner! They did it exactly like the picture I sent, down to the pearls. Not to mention it was a day and a half before the event. My daughter couldn’t stop smiling she was so happy. It was beautiful and the blue velvet cake tasted out of this world amazing. Thank you so much for making my baby girl day!

I was introduced to this place by my wife. We just finished enjoying playing pool and went for a walk in the area. She remembered that she went to this place and wanted to show it to me. They have a huge selection of pastries here and it is a great spot to sit down and try some of the goods. Sadly atm, I am restricted in what I can try so I settled for the creme brulee. Once I can go back to a normal diet, imma try this place again.

  • Rahul Gupta

Great vibe! A live DJ on weekends while having a sit down order service for a wide variety of desserts and pastries made it feel really chill but upscale. The cookie was heavenly, right texture, ratio of chew to chocolate chunks, and certainly big enough to share for two!

Pleasantly surprised with the rustic decor. Unfortunately, the wait staff was too slow and I ordered a yogurt lemon poplin cake which took about 25 minutes to arrive. It was a disappointment as it was sooo dry, did not taste like lemon nor yogurt. Almost choked on it. I was offered another choice. I ordered their fruit tart. The crust was too dry, but the decor and fruit made up for the delay. They need more waiters.

  • AHMET ALPEREN BIRIM

I tried their cupcakes and the berry napoleon. Maybe it is the American taste buds not complying to mine but I found everything VERY MID. I wouldn't pay for this in Türkiye. I don't think Europeans would like it as well. The looks of everything seems great but unfortunately the taste isn't there. There is something missing...

I've had this place bookmarked for quite a long time and was so happy to finally get a chance to try it! I got the berry napoleon which was delicious! The puff pastry was still crunchy when you stuck your fork through it and the pastry cream and fruit inside were delicious and perfectly sweet! Would recommend and can't wait to come back here!

  • brianna dudley

I experienced such horrible racism here. I was laughed in my face by the employee females who work as a host in their dine in section & they don’t even speak English! I spoke to the manager who also gave me horrible customer service. I wish I can speak to someone else in charge about my experience at this location.

Definitely an unexpected find on a summer afternoon in Williamsburg. What sets this bakery apart is it has a hostess and wait staff to bring delicious pastries and hot beverages. I had an earl grey tea and a key lime pie. My friend had the berry pie and a cappuccino. Everything was delicious! Can't wait to visit again. …

Multiple locations. Every single dessert from Martha’s is a hit. Had a handful of the desserts multiple times from here and it is amazing every time. Martha’s is hands down the best dessert shop in NYC. A variety of goods to choose from, honestly it is quite difficult to pick. The cakes are so dense and just made perfectly.

  • Wilson Tsang

The selection of delectable cakes is almost overwhelming and I chose the specialty of the berry napoleon, the flakiness of the pastry even after transporting it for an hour was still crisp and the flavors are very tasty. I would definitely come back and try other items, so many interesting things I want to try!

Seating was right away - dessert was great. Good environment, smells amazing, ambiance is really good for a night vibe & you can come as you are. The strawberry shortcake is a hit. The perfect way to end a day out with amazing desserts and great coffees! So many options and everything is great!!! You must try it!!! You will not regret it! Also the perfect chill vibe!!! Whether you are picking up to go or spending some time there, you are promised great quality!

  • Satnam Singh

This has to be one of the most overrated places I ever been to. The chocolate chip cookie was sickly sweet and the banana pudding was to thick and had an off taste. The prices are ridiculously high for such awful pastries. The server had an attitude as well. Never coming here again

  • Yuyue Lou

Nice berry Napoleon’s! Enjoyed the mixed creamy and crispy texture that crunched in my mouth with freshly tasted berries. One star off due to the delay in getting our order. Took them 15min to get a coffee and a smoothie done when there was almost no customers in the store.

  • Ernie Garcia

Martha's has great coffee and I love the big tables with benches. The desserts are delicious. I had the creme brulee and it was wonderfully warm. My friend had the fruit napoleon and the puff pastry between the cream was very crispy, so you could tell it was freshly made.

Great taste! Great desserts! Great coffees and good environment. The best about this place is they’re open until 12 am. Which is really good if you’re craving for dessert at midnight. My fav is tiramisu pair with cappuccino. Definitely a spot you should try!

So so many delicious baked goods. It’s to go only unless you want to be served. The dining area is only for waiter service. Which is weird for a bakery. Most people are just ordering coffee and baked goods. Clean restrooms
