Well managed Masjid. Staff and volunteers quite helpful. I would like to suggest an improvement for placement of chairs in the prayer hall. I am from Pakistan and have a role in management of our locality’s Masjid. If the chairs are placed only on the left and right sides, as required two or three chairs on each side in every row, it gives the following benefits: Easy and convenient access and exit for chair users. Much less disturbance for the Nimazi s. Especially good to avoid passing in front of nimazi. Convenient for chair users to stack the folded chairs on side and pray regularly if they wish so. Anyway this arrangement of chair placement offers flexibility and convenience. We have tried this arrangement in our Masjid and foud it much useful. May Allah reward and bless all the staff and volunteers of Masjid Al Farooq. Another suggestion is that if the Main theme of Juma Khutba is provided in text on the website, it will help many who are interested to follow, benefit and keep record of man theme and spread it via social media. Jazak Allah. Abdul Hameed Khan.

Have been attending the Masjid since they used to be in the cottage at the back.. The Masjid management has improved a great deal from the time.. As a matter of fact since Brother Qazi started managing the place it had improved a ton. I still enjoy the experience and the informative khutbas and lectures. My only beef is that during Ramadan the place is over crowded and its not masjids fault but to make the experience prolong especially when they are constantly trying to collect funds is just not the best of experiences. I don't know what's the right answer... ofcourse the mosque wants to collect funds and its the best time of the year to do that. but in some nights especially the last few... the time spent on fundraising without exaggeration a full hour and a half in some nights is a bit too excessive... ESPECIALLY for those who are regular attendees and have contributed on their own without having to hear fundraising pitches. I think s

The five daily prayers for this local neighbourhood mosque are well organized and well attended. Very convenient for foot traffic in the Mavis-Eglinton area. As a man, my experience of the community is warm and generally unintrusive. Friday sermons are delivered by locals or community figures and are usually half-tolerable, though other mosques in the area are probably better, and one is locked out if late with a zero-tolerance policy. Score: 4+/5 However, numerous women I know are severely disenchanted by the experience on the woman's side, which is managed by a female member of the administration who imposes an often bizarre sectarian viewpoint with utter disregard for tact, calling out people for not wearing socks, wearing pants or tight clothes, or having make-up even on Eid. I would not generally bring a female relative or friend here unless she wouldn't mind being called out or "knows the ropes" for such environments. Score: 2/5.

The mosque itself is lovely however I've felt intimidated by this one lady that works there and never felt like going back because of her. She was quite pushy and demanding of the female worshippers there. If I felt more welcomed, I'd come back...but now since I have a 2 year old, I feel more that I shouldnt go for fear that this lady will be there ordering everyone around :( I think in Islam its good to encourage people to follow rules of Islam but there is a way to do it ..with respect...and being welcoming is so important. I think most females who reviewed have complained of this woman and most of the men gave good reviews. Because the men dont have to experience her behaviour when they go to the mosque, but we do. You want to encourage women to come to the mosque, not encourage them to never come back because of your harsh behaviour!

I am sorry to say that this mosque management is extremely bad . We have experienced so much rude and bad behaviour today and yesterday during salah and iftaar. One of little kid (8 years old), who was fasting lost her ticket and she has no food in her hand but management refuses to give her food. That little girl started crying. You cannot expect even water from management team when you are breakig your fast. Top of all no outside food or drink is allowed. Can anyone go there with kids who fast for whole day? Because they can't get food and water. What are we teaching to our kids? What is our religion? Why we need a ticketing system in house of Allah? Is not our religion encourage us to share and care? So upset today with management so rude behaviour. Can anyone from team look for management in ladies section?

  • Hassan Muhammad

Excellent masjid!! Only tip is that I wish the khutbahs weren't sometimes so focussed on fiqh issues and more on reviving the taqwa/inspirational/motivational etc. I've literally seen people doze off and be distracted on their phones when khutbahs are tackling detailed fiqhi issues like specifics of zakah, insurances, Islamic finance etc. These are topics which aren't applicable to the masses and definitely are very boring for the youth. Sometimes the youth only have the Friday khutbahs to build a connection with Islam so it's best if we can utilize these 20-30 mins to give a powerful talk on how to get closer to Allah SWT and our pious predecessors like the ambiyas, Khalifa's, tabeeins etc. JazakaAllah Khair for all your efforts in running such a beautiful masjid!!

My son was playfully running around the open space as he loves the masjid and adhaan. I was watching him so he doesnt bother anyone. A bearded thin man came up to me and I greeted him with salam. He asked me to leave because he said my son would not let me do salat as I cannot handle him. I looked him right in the eye and told him to get lost. He shut up and left us alone. He was a nobody trying to bully me and a 3 year old in a place of worship. All the others who have been here and faced a similar situation, dont be cowed by these nobodies. Its a great place for everyone to come and worship. Remember that this place belongs to the community and your personal dollars built it. Stand up for yourself, these nobodies cant do anything other than be an annoyance.

The men’s section is lovely and welcoming, and for people coming from countries where women are oppressed, this mosque would be acceptable I suppose. For the rest of us women, born and raised Canadian: it’s a horrendous embarrassment. To access the women’s section requires climbing three flights of stairs. Once inside, children aren’t allowed to move or do anything other than breathe. If you’re wearing pants and it’s salah time, keep driving, or maybe pray in the nearest parking lot, because the woman/“owner” won’t let you pray as you are. Her loud and directorial commentary is constant throughout your time in the masjid. The most unwelcoming mosque in the GTA. May Allah swt soften their hearts and guide them towards improvement.

  • Faiza

As a woman, this is a Mosque you do not want to step inside in. Very sad to even say this. Sister Khadija is very rude. The management on the women's side is very poor and unwelcoming. They are very judgemental especially towards pakistani women. This should be a place where everyone should feel accepted and welcomed but it is not. Though this mosque is only a 5 minute drive from my house I choose to go to one 25 minutes away because of the bad vibes. I remember wearing traditional clothing (shalwar kameez) where I was covered head to toe, the lady in charge asked me to wear a skirt because I could not pray dressed like that. I hope the mosque sees this review and brings change to the staff and more importantly the environment.

  • Marwa K

I was surprised to see this listed as a child friendly location. As a Muslim woman and mother I avoid this masjid like the plague. The level of intolerance for children is unacceptable and the atmosphere in the women's section created by management and their 3 billion dictatorial signs is a hostile one. It is unfortunate-- growing up I had the fondest memories attending jummah here with my father when it was just a small little shack. Somehow even the hot and crammed ladies section back then was more comfortable and welcoming of worship than this beautifully constructed newer building. May Allah swt guide the ladies in management and soften their hearts towards all attending female worshipers and children. Ameen.

  • IntroversionExposure -

This Masjid beautifully constructed Masjid is located very conveniently, and managed very effectively. May Allah reward those who devote their time and money and make concentrated effort in maintaining it. Brother Mohammed, the main custodian of this place is a fine human-being who is also a great administrator. Examples of good administration are not only obvious through the upkeep of the infrastructure but also in how well they manage their resources, acknowledge donations, and issue tax receipts. Maintaining financial transparency increases the confidence of the donors as well as it keeps in good books of the governments. This definitely sets an example for other institutions in GTA and beyond.

  • Aliaa Essam

I would give them a Zero if i Could. The masjid refused to do my Nikah Ceremony just because my father is not in the country even I explained that he is UNABLE to travel to Canada and that my brother will be my Guardian as he lives with me in Canada. I even asked them to have my father on Video Call during the ceremony and they treated me very badly said no we can’t help you and hung up the call. Very Rude and very inappropriate. Very bad treatment to receive as an immigrant in a foreign country with only my brother by my side. They are not a reflection of how our Religion should be or how our teachings are.

  • Mohib Khan

My go to mosque in the heart of Mississauga. I love coming here as they do a really good job with Translating the Jumma Khutbah in English since English is my first language. They always lead a very nice prayer in a very organised manner. Their parking lots still under construction but they do a great job in creating room for cars to park. The mosque is also expanding and renovating for a second phase. They also have lots of room for large groups of people. The best part of all is that they have 3 Salah times for jumma Making it convenient for everyone from about 1:30/2:30 to 3:30 for the last one.

  • Klaudia Yahaya-Zilahi

Very rude sister on the phone in the office, not helpful whatsoever! We would like to get married, but one day they saying no problem come in with the documents to fix a date, the next time you can’t, don’t come, with no explanation! After the 3rd time calling because the person who we talked just sent us away without explanation, she just put the phone on me. Maybe next time you should be more helpful, especially because there is so many people happy with this masjid…it’s a shame… this is the house of Allah, as a convert I didn’t feel welcomed at all…

  • Steve Mostafa Dafer

This mosque is not well managed during the winter and thus not clean on Jumaa prayers when it's raining or snowing outside. Besides management issues, the entrance (where shoes are supposed to be left) is badly designed and people almost always have to wet their feet/socks to get their shoes back. A quick workaround would be to expand the area where shoes are allowed (since the area where shoes are not allowed is too big and gets wet and unclean anyway). I hope that management realizes how bad the situation currently is and fixes it soon.

  • Samy Wageh

I have to admit. I was frustrated from an incident when I couldnt perform Jumaa prayer due to bad attitude from one of the individual responsible for entering the mosque. Immediately , Moswue management took immediate action and stopped those individuals. Moreover, Shaikh Mohamed himself keeps standing in front of the masjid to streamline and help prayers. I really appreciate his actions and his keen efforts to maintain the good reputation of masjid AlFarooq to be on the best in Mississauga and good example for others.

  • latty

Assalamu Aleykum, The Quran course members does not even deserve 1 star either but I have to rate to post my comments. As we went there this morning to register the Quran Course for my 3 kids. The woman in the office was so rude on us as we are not Arab. The Quran teacher was also so rude to my twin girls and would not let them in when they tried to attend the demo class. We even saw the Holey Quran on the floor. From our perspective, The Quran should always be on the top shelves.

  • Samiah Alam

It is a good size mosque that is under construction. However, I did not like the women's area. It is upstairs and has glossed windows so you cannot see the imam. I do not understand why they've put privacy glass at the bottom windows. It is very difficult to see anything. There's a TV, but that is hard to see during prayer. I hope in their new masjid women can pray behind the men without any barriers just like in the prophet Mohammad's (صَلَّى ٱللَّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ) masjid.

  • Ahmed Shehab

The biggest, the best, the cleanest, and the most convenient Mosque in Mississauga. It is located in a very attractive location. On Eglinton Avenue West, close to the Heartland, Adonis supermarket, Winston Churchill, and Mississauga Road. The Imam’s recitation is really nice and the mosque is always busy and crowded, especially on Friday prayers and Eid. There is extra worship space in the basement. The washrooms are very clean and the parking is huge.

  • Saima Naeem

felt very unwelcome. Islam is supposed to be a peaceful religion and I wanted my daughter to learn about going to the masjid and learning Arabic and having Muslim friends, but she is scarred and never wants to go back to a masjid again. and this is a girl that enjoys trying out new things and meeting new people. I am very disappointed with the staff, they seem to have scared her, because she specifically does not want to go because of her teachers.

  • A A

Very rude management from the imam to the people welcoming you to enter the masjid. I used to go to this mosque for friday prayers every week since i was a kid but unfortunately over the past couple years ive been pushed away To reply to the owner's response, you dont even know who i am or what incidents im referring to to give a sufficient response. I see you just have a need to reply to any negative review as if it never happened.

  • amreenbanu shaikh

I went here for first time after coming to Canada this Ramdan, very disappointed with the management. Iftaar was available in gents section but no one was around to distribute the same in ladies section, also the ladies section is upstairs very glass sheilded place not very spacious or good air circulation. Management should work on basic things at least. As the place is under construction their were handful of ladies here.

  • Abba Ji

Excellent location in central Mississauga, which explains why this is one of the few Masjids that always has more than a handful of worshippers. The main hall is almost always full, which probably accommodates around 500 people. CONS: - Limited parking spots. - Entry into and exit from the driveway can be hazardous due to being on a major thoroughfare and not being controlled by either a traffic light or any other means.

  • Omar Abdel Bari

This is a masjid I would go out of my way to visit when I used to live in Mississauga. The upsides is that it is usually more quiet and has a variety of Islamic books available to read. The downsides you will want to be aware of is that there is not enough parking ( try carpooling ) for eid or Friday. I have not tried any of their educational programs to comment. All of the lectures I attended I was satisfied with.

  • Nabeel Nasir (ilmaddict)

Probably the most well attended masjid in Mississauga for the five daily salawaat. Amazing community of Muslims who are very friendly and warm. There’s something about praying in a full masjid that gives off a different vibe than other masaajid for the regular salat. Parking can be a challenge sometimes so I would advise on going early. The best spots are in the paved section on the east side of the masjid.

  • Amir “Prince”

What a graceful place to visit once at least .carpeted halls for prayers .Ladies have separate hall for the prayer for their convenience and Privacy so they can offer their Prayers freely. Separate washrooms for Men and women.have high school and Islamic education as well.Management is great and caring and loving people .I know this place since 2007.They are expanding the mosque and School as well

  • Natasa B

Imams wife is very rude! I came to convert to Islam and she wasent welcoming to the mosque. She gives cut eye.I feel she is also only welcoming to the brown community. New people are not welcome here.I was given a few books to read and she said she would quiz me, it took this Lady 3 months, and even after still nothing. Islam is a Beautiful religion and it's a shame there is people like her there!

  • A A

Would be nice if information if all the information was mentioned on the posters / flyers instead of being told later. Case in point: There is a $50 registration fee on top of the $250 fee for the summer camp. But there is no mention of this on the flyer. Why??? Doesnt feel nice to leave a negative comment online to a House of GOD, But management, pls take heed and correct your ways!!

  • Wolfgang Wisconsin

Imam was very disrespectful and right away debating me on my status of being muslim. I am Indian muslim trying to find a congregation to fit in and they have been extremely unwelcoming. I do not recommend you pray here because they are racist to any muslim who isnt arab as they refer to the arabs as the only 'true muslims'. Very disappointing to see such ignorance here

  • Abed Al Rahman Khaled

Very organized Masjid. We understand the challenges imposed due to covid. You might have to go several times to jummaah salah if not registered to find a spot. It is understandable noting the challenges of social distancing. Pressure on organizers won’t help, just abide by their instructions u’ll get what u need insha’allah.

  • MH N

Assalamu Alaikum, Alhamdulillah, neat and clean and very well maintained Masjid. Parking is an issue due to the Masjid extension work. Friday prayers offered three times and the best thing is timings are available on the website. If you subscribe to website then you'll get the updates on Friday prayers timing change.

  • Anas Ahmed

Beautiful mosque, I had just arrived the day before to Toronto, great community, I was surprised to see the mosque within zuhr salat. Masjid very organized Alhamdulilah. I love their extension plans, well needed for the community. They have a playground for kids, quran classes and etc. You name it they have it.

  • Grateful To be alive

What a sad state of affairs for Muslims that only People allowed to pray in this Masjid are the ones who are fully vaccinated. This is outright unfair and segregation against those who are not. Me not allowed there to pray will In Sha Allah fall on the shoulders of the management... Shameful.

  • I Hassan

I couldn't give zero stars to a masjid, but, worst management ever, illiterate, rude, and just horrible. The management acts as if they own the place. Worst place to worship during rush hours, because even if the building is LITERALLY half empty, they'll make you stand outside for so long.

  • Zain K

Great mosque! Very clean, organized. The Khutbahs on Friday are always interesting with regular guest speakers and the topics discussed are relevant to the community. Convenient in terms of getting to the mosque, bus stop is close by, bike racks on site and decently sized car park.

  • Rizwan M.A Hai

There are three Juma sermons and the latest timetable for all the prayers can be found on their website. The quality of the projector upstairs is not at all good, hopefully it gets fixed soon. The Islamic center in the mosque is a wonderful resource for the community children.

  • FS

Well, this Mosque has its unique attraction. Feels something different relax and peace every time I pray there. People are friendly and their staff usually talks about the on going issues guide in a Islamic way. Nowadays, construction is going on so parking is a real issue.

  • Ather Mohiuddin

Alhamdulillah. I came from Saudi Arabia on visit to my son. We often pray in this masjid. Really feel very grateful to pray in this masjid for all prayer of the days. Allah taalah keeps everyone happy n healthy who keep this great for all Muslims who prayer in masjid.

  • Ibrahim Pastuszak

This masjid is alive, and a joy to pray in. Because it is under construction it can be hard to find your way around, but that’s only because I was a visitor passing through. A very serious masjid that cares about living Islam and the muslims who share those values.

  • Shumail Feroz

Just stop by for Asar at this mosque drove all the way to Chatham due to work and on they way back to Chatham just stop by to this mosque and they not allowed visitor for Asar Salah very disappointed the brother at door was very rude never go to that mosque again

  • Li Jo

Beautiful masjid, Alhamdulillah. I love how it has all these rules about how one should or shouldn't behave in a mosque. It's very clean and has plenty of space. Ok, maybe yeah, it gets busy during Eid, but they always come up with some solution.

  • Allana Clark

As a revert, felt very unwelcomed by one sister that likes to boss everyone around. Alhamdulilah, not the first mosque I have been to or I would have never accepted Islam. I am sure to tell any new revert to avoid this place like the plague.

  • Yasir Aarafat

Alhamdulillah so grateful for having this masjid around. I must say, the kids programs which they have are amazing. Can easily compete with any top Islamic school. Highly recommended. May Allah strengthen the community through this masjid.

  • Mohamad Ghnoum

Farooq Mosque is an impressive and striking sanctuary located in the heart of the city. This mosque embodies the essence of Islamic architecture with its grand arches, intricate designs, and stunning calligraphy. From the moment I entered

  • Bassam Sairwan

The rating I’m giving is to the staff and management as well , not the masjid They keep asking always for donations and they waste our time in Taraweeh and Joumaa pray for that and at the main time they have around 6 million dollars in

  • Z

Excellent outdoor accommodation in parking lot for Ramadan Isha/Taraweeh prayers. But you must park in nearby neighbourhoods as mosque parking fills up fast. There are attendants in nearby plazas giving out tickets so don't park there.

  • Karym Eliya

There's a very rude supervisor name Muneer. I asked my coworkers a simple question and he got upset and started giving me attitude. Beware of this mosque and this supervisor and never send your kids to do volunteer work at this Masjid.

  • Al Khabees

It's a nice little masjid, but there is this one lady who polices the women's section that makes the overall experience terrible. I'm not sure what her name is, but she is clearly part of the masjid staff, and she takes an extreme,

  • Sania Tasnim Basher

The cleanest masjid I have visited in GTA. It's fairly new. The washroom and wudu area are spotless clean. Some areas still under construction. If you want to earn some good deeds, can generously contribute in the donation box.

  • Bilal Khan

Good mosque, offers good range if juma times and have parking too. These days there is construction going on so space is limited but once it's done I'm sure it will be even better than before. Has good knowledgeable imams too.

  • Hamid ALI

Great mosque especially at Maghreb time but I am noticing because of one bad apple " the imam lady" people have to discourage to visit this place and give one star reviews. As a whole nice worship place as neat n clean.

  • Bird Man

i love how it is clean but i hate the teaching the princeble is verymean /owner when i forgot something like a book she calls home and doesnt tell the trouth about how much times i miss my books i only missed it once.

  • Mohammad Abu-Marzouk

Location is amazing, the Mosque is so nice and clean. The way they managed it and managed the school is very really good. The difference of people from background and ages still all of the nice and cooperative

  • Y K

Great clean facility with very supportive and organised staff. Unfortunately no place to perform ablution (wudu) which is strange. Imam recitation is beautiful but very slow paced

  • Amjad Khan

Love this Mosque. Currently going through it's extention process still very well managed, very neat clean and calm environment, they have their schooling system for kids as well.

  • Huss

Alhumdullilah I was able to make the Asr prayer here on my way down eglinton. It is under construction currently but still easily accessible and the space is very nice MashAllah.

  • SYED Amjad

Mosque should be close till construction Children can get hurts.secondly how government allowed such place with nuisance value of car parking which create hurdle to the residence

  • Safvan

Beautiful mosque. Under construction for the second phase. It gets crowded for the Jumma, so it's hard to find the parking. But street parking is available in that neighborhood.

Amazing place to worship as Muslim. Br. Muhammad Qazi the Imam is wonderful man and extremely helpful. May Allah give Barakah to his health and prosperity for his family! Ameen
