If I could give it a 0 I would. My 86 year old nan (who has a broken arm) went out with her friend as it started to pour down with terrential rain,she called masons for a taxi as she usually does to get home from her friends. She got into the taxi without the help from a taxi driver bare in mind she also has a walking stick she uses in her other hand, firstly the driver is driving way to quick and she had to hold onto the seat and she felt extremely unsafe. Secondly my Nan lives in a block of flats and what normally happens is the driver pulls into the car park where he too can turn around and Nan can walk with ease into her place. This driver pulled up 100 meters from her destination, when Nan asked politely if he could drive into the car park and turn around in there as she felt like she may slip in the rain he ignored her and starting to reverse back, Nan asked again if he could do this as she felt that the rain was too strong and would make her fall, he ignored her again and asked to get out. My Nan who again is an 86 year old lady, with a broken arm and a walking stick had to walk 100 meters in the rain, by the time she got in she was soaked through. I called the service of masons to explain the situation and before I could finish my sentence I was interrupted by this rude man who said it is my nans fault this happened and she should of used her ‘common sense’ he had a raised voice and was acting ignorant to the whole situation. If this is what masons customer service is like then I would not recommend them to anyone we expected better and are very disappointed to how my Nan was left so vulnerable.

I encountered an abusive, racists, and drunk employee of this company on Saturday 25th February between 13:10 and 13:20 whilst attempting to park my car in the long stay car park. Honestly, I can't understand how such an individual could be allowed to work in that capacity. He hurled insults at me and my wife because he believed I had somehow undercut him. After he had speeded into the car park he had been situated to the right of the entrance. I drove to his right, attempting to get into the car park and he turned a bit Vin Diesel on me i.e. shouting all sorts of extremities through his windscreen, then using his car to stop mine, before getting out and wishing to start a physical fight. It was blatantly obvious the guy had been drinking - he slurred his words and wasn't too great on his feed. Co workers of his came across to shut the situation down and I assume it might be business as usual for them in having to deal with a guy like this. I took a picture of his car and I reported him to the police. Unsuspecting customers could be getting in to a cab operated by Masons Cars at Woodford station and find their cabbie is not fit to drive. That bothers me and that is why I am taking time to write. Avoid!

After calling this cab service today and the way I was spoken to and then hung up on I won’t be using them again I was a regular client who often uses masons cars and they know me regularly however when I called this evening to order a cab the gentlemen who answered quite frankly seemed fed up with his job it’s not the first time I’ve spoken to him but we all have our bad days however he is always very rude and has no phone manners what so ever. After ordering my cab to be picked up from a 17 hour shift at WORK I was then told I could get a lift so called amup a couple minutes later to cancel as I didn’t want the cab driver wasting his time. As I called back the cab office I POLITLY STATED that I had ordered a cab from ( were I was being collected ) and before I could say any more he rudely said “ yes the cab is on the way to you my love” with strong attitude!!!!!!!!! I then politely said “ if you’d be patient I want to cancel it” he then hung up the phone disgusting behaviour and no way to speak to someone if you ain’t happy with your job find somewhere else to work!! Don’t take t out on your clients!!

We pre rang them to get a price before getting the cab. On arrival the cab driver tried to charge us more and was not happy as we had a pre arranged price. The cab was filthy and smelt really awful. When we were nearly at the location a road was closed in front of us. This is not ours or the cabs fault, however the already unhappy cab driver decided to try to charge us loads more even though the diversion was not much further. He persistently called me love in a condisending way. When I disputed this he rang the man we had agreed the fare with who changed our set amount to an estimate and argued we would have to pay for the road closure. The man who agreed the original amount never advised it was an estimate and he was equally as rude & unpleasant as the cab driver. Customer care does not exist and they looked to con us out of as much money as possible. Do not use this dishonest cab company as you will pay dearly for their awful service like we did.

Just got 3 bags shopping and used Masons to get home. As I'm up a flight of stairs, I asked the driver if he could kindly help me get my shopping up the stairs, especially as I'm recovering from a broken big toe. Big mistake. He flatly refused and when I said I didn't know how I was going to get the shopping upstairs, he said go up and down one bag at a time!! Of course, I would have tipped him and I appreciate that helping carry shopping is an extra, but no other driver has ever refused. In fact, I have found Uber drivers to be by far the most pleasant and helpful. Maybe this driver's attitude explains why business is slow at Masons. In reply to owner's comment that they were very busy a) the driver said business was very slow today b) it is truly shocking that he was not willing to help a disabled customer

Extremely rude staff, Called Masons for a airport for stansted and the man who dealt with my booking was so incredibly rude he was shouting at me and told me he had told me everything even though I was trying to explain something in regards to the booking and flight times before he shut the phone on me while I was speaking. This was a extremely nasty experience and I was bewildered at the fact that someone pays 40+ pounds(often more) for a taxi and there is no respectable person on the phone. My family and and I have been using this company for many years but was so shocked by this incident. How can someone shoe such indecency. This call was arounnd 3:30pm today (06/11/2019) so you can see who was on shift with the phone at this time, incredibly disapointed. Would rate 0 Stars if I could

Never had an issue with this company People grown about the Office being a bit rude, They are always busy And can sound stressed because it . I’ve probably used Service 15 to 20 times since Christmas , had one driver I didn’t like, but his English was not good so maybe just how we was . The cabs are always early and always available, even in rush-hour I am impressed . Sometimes wanna order a cab first thing in the morning, They get to be 10 minutes early !!! Also I wont mention the drivers name, but as I was A regular he gave me 2 pound off my fair . Very happy with the service, every company has at least one or two rude drivers unfortunately. Don’t let one bad experience put you off

Astonishingly unhelpful. The first time I used this company I arrived at Woodford station and had to wait ages for a car. I completely understand this can happen when you don't book in advance, so the second time I phoned ahead to book - but was told you can't book a taxi from the station! Apparently 'there would be a riot'. When informed that you need to be picked up from an address, I asked if one around the corner from the station would do and they said no. I offered to walk quite some way from the station and be picked up there - but still the answer was no. Am entirely stumped - I've never known a taxi company like this one!

I was taking mini cab in from the Woodford station as soon as step in the car, the driver “David “ ( may named wrong, but with a black 9 sit car) being very rude , said very inappropriate , very disrespectful stuff to myself. When we about to pay , again being rude , just because we have to pay by card not cash to me, he said pay card is wasting his time, we should carry cash everywhere, cash is not heavy to cash. May I ask why the driver insists to take cash only , tax evasion purpose? In the sign board clearly stated “contactless card payment or cash” . Worst experience ever with cab, will never use again

Rubbish service gone down hill so much lately whats happened/ Been using masons for over 20 years have always been reliable until recently bookings being cancelled because of little to no drivers available and the lady on the phone is rude and unhelpful after a few things going wrong lately i thought id give them another go how silly was i rung up to be told over an hours wait for a cab as yet AGAIN NO DRIVERS what a waste of time that was. Tried a different cab company and they had a car to me within 10 mins. So much for better service for loyal customers i wont be using masons anymore

I have used this cab firm a few times and the drivers have always charged a fair/correct price. However, Saturday morning i took a cab and driver 82 overcharged me . I travelled less than one mile but was charged for three miles. At 4am in the morning the last thing I wanted was to argue about fare prices which the driver knew and took advantage of. It wasn't a huge amount of money but the fact the driver felt he could do that was wrong. If your a solo female travelling make sure the cab driver confirms the price beforehand and you have the correct change........

We have used Masons for many years. They are a family run business and pride themselves on being personable and professional towards customers. We wouldn’t use another company, as we get good value for money, drivers are always on time, call handler is lovely and Tony the Manager will go out of his way to ensure everything runs smoothly. During the current pandemic my partner used Masons daily to travel to the City and back, the driver David was outstanding and we’d always request him again in future. Please support local family businesses and use Masons.

I booked a taxi with Mason's to take me to the airport. However, the taxi never came. After waiting for it to arrive for some time, I called them several times, but nobody answered the phone. This made me miss my flight since I was not able to get to the airport on time by other means of transport. Since I really needed to get to my destination that same day, I had to book a new flight plus a train ticket. This was a much longer and tedious route. And, of course, it cost me hundreds of pounds because I had to book everything only a few hours in advance.

This minicab company makes no effort to give good customer service. Even when they are clearly not busy and drivers are standing around waiting for the next job; there’s no guarantee that you’ll get any response to a “good morning” or “good afternoon” to the controller. You’re basically beholden to one of the lurking drivers taking pity on you and asking where you’re going. Unless it’s an emergency; avoid. Actually avoid even in an emergency - there are other minicab services around (though unfortunately none right at Woodford station).

Don’t bother, to expensive. To over priced. I was very, very shocked at the price. 30 pound for a 10 minute journey. Rude staff also. I got an Uber which cost me 9 pound. I would suggest getting a taxi from Uber or bolt. Will save you a lot more money. This cab office double charges wow. SHOCKING! So glad I got someone to help me with Uber. Todays cost living is a joke. No1 can afford milk or bread. And they’re charging 30 pound for a 10 minute drive? Absolute liberty and rip off! Will never go to this company.

The drivers are late, the people at the call center very rude, and some of them do not have navigation system in the car!! A driver told me that he only uses Google maps with his phone when driving, and he had it next to his seat, that can be very dangerous, plus he didn't even know how to use it. Overall poor service. Responding to someone that replied (below) to this review: The last booking was for yesterday at 11.45 for Luton. But we have bad experience from previous bookings.

Book an uber. First cab driver a zero. Went the wrong way, tried to over charge, zero stars, thankfully dropped me back at woodford station. Woman alone at night. Second cab driver a darling, to him alone five stars, lovely man, knew the route. Cab firm =2 stars. Firms takes no responsibility for their drivers. No quality control. No tracking of which cabs are booked go where. Wasn't their usual controller but the man "running" things was hardly coping and totally incapable.

Driver was very rude and didn’t actually drop me off to where I wanted to go. Called it in to the office, gave a ‘don’t care’ attitude and hanged up the phone on me twice. I deal with client EVERYDAY and I give exquisite customer service. So I am fuming to what I had to experience tonight. Eventually got though to the office again and spoke to a lady (who was also quite rude) and told me to call back on Monday WHICH I WILL BE DOING. Hopefully this situation can be solved.

Very rude staff. I called Masons to book an airport trip and the man who dealt with my booking was so incredibly rude he actually shouted at me and told me to be quiet when I was trying to explain something with regards to the booking. He was extremely nasty and I was very upset. My family and I have been using this company for many years but was so shocked by this incident that in future will use different company who treat you with a little curtesy.

Never again. I politely asked in the office whether drivers accept card payments to which the operator responded yes. The driver was then very rude when I arrived to my destination demanding I pay in cash. Driver also exceeded speed limit (as have other having read other reviews) nearly crashing at a roundabout and accelerated heavily over speed humps. Not safe at all. Stick to apps which are more reliable than queues and rude staff.

I booked a cab to take me to Heathrow last Tuesday, prompt at 4am Masir arrives, suited and booted like a chauffeur with an immaculate car too, what an amazing man, good old fashioned service, rare these days, and so proud and happy to be of service. I couldn’t wait to get of out of the car and phone Mason’s to let them know what an asset Masir is, I hope the message was passed on. I will be booking him again very soon. 10/10.

Called them to get a price to pre book to take me to Palace of Westminster the Man on the call was so unfriendly and unhelpful he said they don't do journeys to London anymore. What? I used them years ago and they were lovely they used to have nice cars and pleasant staff. Having read the reviews since I'm glad I didn't use them they sound appalling. They must have changed hands since I used them years ago. Avoid.

To the driver who swore at me right outside their office as I reversed out my space and he pulled out behind me (after I had already begun leaving my space) because he couldn’t wait 2 seconds and refused to move back in his space. If that’s how you drive as a taxi firm I guess I’ll have to stop using you on a daily basis. Several people who witnessed this agreed he was in the wrong as we all laughed at him.

Two drivers, number 48 and 81 refused to pick up my wife and I because we had two suitcases. We waited for over half an hour, in the cold after midnight, before the two ladies in the office were able to convince another driver to bring us home. The two ladies in the office were very helpful and professional in the way they handled the situation and made sure we eventually got a ride home.

The old man who works at Woodford station at around 9pm, 1 Dec 2019 was very rude to me. I wanted to book a cab to the airport and he was me what is the house number, which I wasn't able to provide right away and he rushed me off and shouted at me.. "WHAT NUMBER!?". He should be fired. If there is a -10 (a big negative 10) star for this old grumpy man, he deserves every bit of it.

I went to get a taxi on Sunday evening & was told it would cost £56 from Woodford Station to Ongar(14 miles), I have just called up for a price from Woodford to Stanstead Airport(28 miles) for comparison & was told £57, long story short I got a taxi 5 mins later for £20.70 from a taxi app, very disappointed in a taxi firm I have used for years trying to rip a customer off like that.

DO NOT USE THEM IF YOU ARE A LONE FEMALE ! The radio controller called me on my personal mobile (uninvited) was intimidating and threatened me (I missed my flight because a cab - that they had been having problems with - broke down on the M11). Quite reasonably I only paid half fare. Do not use them- there are plenty of other taxi offices.

Enquired about a cab trip today, appeared to be a misunderstanding about me enquiring about their services, versus booking as I didn't mention the word 'quote' and was given a fairly rude reception by the operator. Not very impressed. Used the service before and generally they've been okay it's always been my other half booking the cabs.

Pre ordered a cab to pick up from Stansted Usually get call from driver upon arrival, when I didn’t phoned office who had clearly forgot said driver would be there and got him to phone me. When he did said he would be 25 mins, the time it takes from the office at that time. Waited 42 mins, no apology. Will not use again

Have used Masons previously with no issues. However today the driver decided to overcharge me by £14 due to an extra stop off that i had already mentioned when i recieved the original quote for £68. Apparently the customer is not always right. Will never use again. Shame they dont treat their local customers well.

I have used this company a few times in the past year and they were reliable and a fair price. I have just used them for a return trip to the airport and i found them on time, very good price and polite. Will definitely be using them for airport services moving forward, they are cheaper than uber which is a win

Tend to avoid Masons these days. They used to be my 'go to cab firm' but havent moved with the times. Rude control staff, no investment in technology, rickety old cars and rickety old drivers looking to overcharge at every opportunity

Ive been using Masons for my family airport trips and they always deliver. The 7 seater is always clean and on time and they let us use our child seats, store them and pick us with them again on the other end. Great Service

Do not use. Called 2 minutes before they were due to pick us up and cancelled pick up and drop off. Controller then put the phone down on me after ruining our plans. Disrespectful, rude and inconsiderate.
