After seeing a very poorly maintained car park run by Europarks at £1 per hour, initial impressions were poor. I walked in asking for luggage items, was told they don't do them. Had to wait to ask how to get to the Haymarket store. The assistant did not know! I had seen a map on the exterior of the shop. So I proceeded to wander around the site out of curiosity, found a jacket, asked another assistant for a long mirror and she said they don't have mirrors or changing rooms. I was told by her if items are unsuitable they cannot refund but will exchange or issue on a Matalan card only. WOW! As I was trying the jacket out for size a loud tannoy message said "customers are reminded not to try on any items of clothing in the shop" obviously watching me. With highly untrained, unmotivated staff providing zero levels of service and in view of the above comments, the sooner this shambles of a "clearance shop" closes, the better

I'm autistic and I have sensory issues when it comes to wearing certain fabrics and styles of clothes. There's no fitting rooms, NO MIRRORS in the whole store, you are ABSOLUTELY NOT ALLOWED TO TRY ANY CLOTHES ON (I was only trying certain things on my clothes) they TRICK you into buying clothes that you cannot even try on because it's a clearance store and then you can't even return it and get a full refund, only a store credit . So what it's a clearance store??? I can go to H&M, New Look, literally any other shop and try on the clearance clothes. NEVER COMING BACK. Your clothes aren't even worth it. Most of them is a cheap, Chinese, polyester quality. I'd give you -1 if I could.

I ordered some school uniform because they don't have any inside the store so some of floor staff insist me to do on online order order which they have to diliverd to the city centre branch store for free collection but when I went for collection, For 5minut parking I have to pay £1 when I've asked some of the staff this is not free collection because I have to pay for parking to collect my order staff speaking with me rudely (customer services of Matalan city center branch of Leicester ) if you want to pay parking for nothing then order from them

Staff is very poor in knowledge at till because I bought 6 items and she count 7 items and charge £7 more I was in hurry so I didn’t check at receipts while I was in store but when I went home then I looked at receipt there was £7 over charge so I came back store I spend my time and travel to store again then also they took 20 minutes to refund me so meanwhile they need to do theirs job properly without talking each other while they serve customers. I am not happy with that so guys always check your receipts at matalan.

Good selection of clothing, I'm a man and get pretty much all my clothes here, my suits and casual wear is all from here. The clothes themselves seem reasonably priced, obviously not as low as Primark but then the quality is decent and will last a fair about of time before succumbing to wear and tear. Good amounts of parking is always available and rate currently is £1 per hour which is better than the complexes or the bays on the roadside. Would buy from again.

I went to matalan today I had 1 item for return but an fortunately I lost the receipt the person on till will not refund or exchange as I was buying more 11 items and returning one then I ask for the manger see if that person can help but they will not help me to resolve so I had to leave the 11 item and leave for home with return item I was totally disappointed very bad service from matalan I will never go again. The manager of the Clearance store in Leicester is not fit for purpose. Refused to refund faulty footwear, she is also rude and obnoxious. Some of the sales assistants lack customer care, they should look up the definition of customer service. Staff like this is why I prefer to shop online. The store itself is ok, not much variety for men, but I have found the odd bargain.

Did my xmas shop here last yr.. brilliant choice and prices.. excellent quality clothing - my best friend i bought a jacket.. he's bought it out for this winter - loved it!!! Not too much when waiting in the queue and the staff here are helpful and friendly. Plus it is close to main bus station in Leicester so not far to carry you shopping to travel home.

It's a good store for ladies but not for gents and boys. Rates are very reasonable. Matalan in London is amazing compared to in Leicester. They have a return policy where they will give you matalan vouchers which is valid in all stores of matalan. They have all the products and very inexpensive.

Good offers available here but the stick is limited compared the other store on the outskirts. The parking is not free. £1 for 1 hour. You get that back if you show them the second part of the ticket at the till. The exit is very awkward if you're parked near the store.

they been stealing money from kids who want to buy a toy from machine. machine is out of order buy is not saying enywhere that after u put ur money in u will not get a toy. my child left very upset several times. and the manager couldn't help us. is so unfair!!!!

Great fashion shopping place..reasonable price..good quality and new arrivals. Nice merchandise... Only few mirrors there..and they can bring bit more lines as trainers..brand shoes. etc. Still my brand shopping brand Matalan. I can recommend anyone.

This store is ok, you might find the odd bargain. They don't have fitting rooms and you're not allowed to try anything on, not even footwear which is a pain as they don't do refunds either! They will only exchange or provide a credit note.

The one star rating is totally due to the officious, obnoxious little upstart of a car park attendant who insists you leave the car park that you've just paid to stay for 2 hours in, immediately after you've spent 10 minutes in the shop.

Go with an open mind and you could score some bargains. Stocked with end of season products and returns so what they have is a bit hit and miss but prices literally start at 50p so there are some real savings to be had.

I was shopping with my son after 5.30pm and a shelf full of clothes fell on him (probably his fault), staff were so helpful in helping him clear/fold/restock shelf. Probably, I'd have left ALL for him to do ;-D ;-)

A smaller shop with 70% of stocks for women, kids,10%, men, 10%, homeware 10%. Paid parking, but not very clear sign posts around, so we can pay n deduct from the matalan bill, at the counter though

Helpfully .ask where there toilets was was told if I need. id have to use McDonald's .iam disabled and wont make it..the reply I got was not our problem .they dont have use of wc

OK place. Prices are low but quality of the products are average. Also not much options for men and children. Has a parking space which is an advantage for city centre area.

I was looking for some tips for my 10 year old daughter. Sadly every long sleeved top has a unicorn reference. Not every child is into this. Took my business elsewhere.

Tucked away in a quieter part of the city centre means a nice relaxing shopping experience. Convenient for St Margaret’s bus station and not too far from Highcross.

I like Matalan, lots of choice there, everbody finds something for himself. Fair prices! Great to shop when sale! :) Big and CHEAP parking, always available spaces

Bit scruffy and a bit unloved and a bit out of your way. They have lots of nice clothes and home goods but Matalan needs to relocate somewhere further in town.

This store is closed at present until January. Update website so customers aren’t making unnecessary trips to store. A4 size notices on shop window and doors.

I pick this store as pickup point, attended twice, refused, even thought I had my ID and pickup pass. One Lady from stuff was incredibly mean. Avoid this shop

Matalan Leicester is an ideal clothing hub. Plenty of parking. Jam packed during special events and sale.. Don't forget 10% nus extra discount.

Didn't like this Matalan at all. Poorly laid out with too much stock in the wrong places eg items on sale racks that weren't 'on sale'.
