Useless for business I really hope no other business experience this but please read as you can save yourself from Metro bank. We have had the worst experience with this bank as they suddenly decided to close our business account. Without any reasons explained. Moreover, they have given us 60 days notice but immediately put restrictions on our account not to receive or make any payment and as a business, we couldn’t operate especially around December and Christmas holidays when banks appointment are already delayed to January and yet, no hope to even explain or listen. Tahmina, our business manager, advised 3 months ago that our credit rating is very good with the bank and we easily qualify for a business loan and all of the sudden, they close our account for their own unexplained reasons. Our business is literally shut down as we can’t get a business account with another bank quickly enough but they simply don’t care. It has been the worst situation ever when you see your business is in risk of shutting down and the reasons are simply Metro bank don’t care, they don’t explain, they don’t even pick up the phone when ringing them. They betrayed our trust and put us in a severely deadly situation without any justified reasons. Ps. The business account managers are literally the most useless. They never show up, never respond to any calls or emails. Sadiq and Tahmina from the Ilford branch never show up for help, they seem to be on holiday 365 days a year. We have previously made a complaint for that but again, they prove not to care. We have repeatedly asked them to explain the reasons and we have always proposed to provide any documents or details of our compliance if that was allegedly any of the reasons and the only response we got is that a decision has been made and can’t be revoked. Like, if they made a mistake, they can not simply correct it as decision is final.This has been the most ridiculous and worst experience ever. You can definitely, save yourselves and bank elsewhere.

RUDE member of staff behind the counter THREATENED TO FREEZE MY ACCOUNT WHEN I WAS IN PROCESS OF OPENING IT. Opened an account yesterday, appointment at 4pm. Have to admit the man who was opening our account was very nice but it was a long process, no complaints here. Left around 5.30ish thinking everything was fine, but got a call to say passport hadn't scanned in properly so had to come back. That was fine I came back approx. 6pm , handed my passport over to the guy but then had to wait another 40 minutes for the photocopy. Things took a down turn when I simply asked the lady behind the counter if she could check when the guy would be coming back once hes made the photocopy and told her I have been waiting for up to 2-3 hours to open an account. She rudely replied that she saw me walk in 40 mins ago and that I have not been waiting 2-3 hours. I told her I had an appointment since 4pm, so it actually has been almost 3 hours, she then rudely replied if I don't have the patient to wait, she would FREEZE MY ACCOUNT! What a STUPID AND IDIOTIC comment to make from a metro bank staff member working behind a counter, if this is how Metro Bank treat their customers by THREATENING TO FREEZE THEIR ACCOUNTS when they are in the process of opening them, then I have to say ill take my business elsewhere. Plenty of other banks out there. Ill be writing an official letter of complaint and finding out who exactly was this person with a terrible attitude, what is Metro Bank thinking putting her at the front desk. How DARE she THREATEN customers like this. DISGUSTING ATTITUDE METRO BANK. WILL DEFINITELY BE TAKING THIS FURTHER.

I put my card into their cash machine and it didn't work. It took in my card and never gave it back. I stood outside for a while and eventually an employee came and casually said that the machine hasn't been working all day. He also added that multiple cards had been taken in and not come back out. They didn't even bother to put up a notice onto the cash machine despite the same thing happening over and over again. They also saw me struggling and did not help at all, they completely ignored me and continued to laugh and mess around with their colleagues. They told me to just call my bank and cancel the card. This easily could've been prevented with an out of service notice. Very poor customer service and I'm disappointed. I was the one who stopped a further three people from using that machine. I shouldn't have to do their job for them.

Best customer service I’ve had from a bank EVER!! We (my elderly Aunt and I) were seated while we waited. My Aunt needed to open a new account. Very quickly we were seen and the account opened. The gentleman who served us was excellent. He’d been at the bank two years and was extremely courteous, professional and walked us through each step with care and consideration. The bank is a beautiful set up, fully staffed and music playing in the background. I also noticed two dog bowls with water by the main entrance. Thank you Metro Bank, you are a credit to the Financial Services Industry!

I don't know why but I didn't expected to have such a great service, the staff were so friendly, they knew how to help you, all members been so confident in what are they doing, this means that they are well trained for their role. The lady who opened my account was so friendly, Pin was her name, she definitely deserves 6 stars not 5. This experience which I've got today was above my expectations. Even the bank's manager came out and in sign of respect for a new client asked me if everything is alright and much more. In these days who is doing that? Maybe one in a million. Had a great experience at the Ilford Metro when I opened an account, although I didn't have the right info in the beginning the staff there were very helpful and patient, it was such a relief to get honest simple help without all the long jargon that goes with it, just want to say a massive thank you to tauhid who works there who handled my case and who took the time to treat me as an important customer. The team were great from the moment the doors opened and I was greeted sat down and even left I was told welcome to metro bank it was a great environment and even better staff thanks again to tauhid and the staff at metro I'll be banking there for a long time.

I have very bad experience with this metro bank.just for opening account I went there for 5 days.and even on 6th day they told me to come next day because they dnt have enough time.1st two times they didn't have enough time to check the documents I needed to open account with them. As I came from abroad to join my, the other two times they checked my monzo statements and said I don't have enough transections on my statements instead of checking my address on the statement they kept going through my transaction . they said to come back tomorrow and the rest is done just need to bring new statemt but then even by 2 pm they didn't had time to see me.

The Staff at the Ilford Bank of Metro, are so helpful and professional. Even through the COVID their customer service has remained Excellent and safe. I have had a great experience with all staff in branch. I have to thank Erlandas for always helping me and remembering me as a customer every single time with a smile, cannot be any nicer. Poor customer service. Been going to the bank for the last two weeks to open an account but always get told they dont have any appointments and get told to come again. Staff behind the counter was rude did not acknowledge me at the desk too busy on her phone. This branch needs to change its customer facing staff or management. Staff need to be more professional rather then behaving as if they were school kids having fun in the communal area.

Tauhid, I really wanna appreciate the service he provided to me, I came all the way from work and had an appointment at 4 pm, I was tired and had no patience to spend more than 40 minutes to open the account, the way he dealt me during the account opening it was totally like a stress buster for me. At the end I got my account opened, and never known I have spent more than 40 minutes. Really would like to cherish the experience. Appreciated.

Has improved the service, however staff can sometimes be a little preoccupied with themselves and not the customer. On the whole everyone is polite, courteous and respectful. Account took a little longer than normal to open due to their system, however was a smooth process. The safety deposit box system is the real draw and is reasonably priced for what it offers. Very very easy to access your box afterwards no appointment needed.

As a Metro Bank client with debit card, I went to this branch to apply for credit card. My credit score is always high, so I believed there will be no problems. I got refused due to credit score 450. Really??? I don't know what they have checked but a minutes later when I left I have checked my score and it was almost 900. I don't know what they are doing and are they understand their job?... In my opinion, no. Very poor service.

The best service I've received from any bank. Easy communication, clearly explained and showed me around all facilities of the bank. SARAH especially was a big help and took the time to make sure everything was set up for me start to finish. Answered all my questions ABSAR made switching my account so easy. Can't complain for service received but it could be much better. Overall good. Metro bank advertised magic coin machine but I never got it working in any branches including this branch. Besides, cash deposite always a trouble if no nearby store since metro bank does not have postoffice service, so people in the store service should also realise this when serve.. waiting time is reasonable though.

Great service and a pleasure to do business with. Staff are polite, courteous, helpful and efficient. We were particularly impressed when we were supplied with both a cheque book and bank card while we waited on opening our new account. We were given a tour of the branch with explanations of working practices and all our questions were answered. We would thoroughly recommend this bank to anyone.

Attended site to open bank account today. Nice and easy and friendly service. Within an hour I had 2 accounts opened. Savings and basic. Couldn't have current due to bad credit rating and was advised by the staff member to go.on credit score and see what's causing bad score. Attended site to open Business bank account today. Nice and easy,friendly service. Within 2 hour I had 3 business accounts opened. Business and client Tarannum was very helpful and went above and beyond to help. Got my business debit card straight away and got registered for online banking as well. Every thing was super quick .Definitely recommend metro bank ilford.

It's good I can't think of anything to make it any better. Gurdeep was very helpful and efficient. Together with Emy they arranged an initial appointment with Ant who was very polite and helpful. Following this Tauhid completed my business bank opening with efficiency. It was all a great experience. Metro Bank has modernized banking to the 21st century level.

Overall my Metro Bank experience was very good at the Ilford branch, staff were helpful and tried to resolve my issues. Geraldine And Absar were two staff members that epitomised good customer service and went out of there way to help. I will definitely be using the branch more often as feel it is more accessible then other high street banks!

Excellent service from ilford branch . My barclays card had been blocked and ive been waiting 5 days without my card . Went to metro bank and had an account with them . They made a new debit card in 10 mins fast and easy and friendly service. Im transferring from barclays to here. Opening hours are great too for working people.

Came to the Ilford store had no trouble booking in for an account. I was seen by a gentleman called Absar who greeted me and was very professional! He opened a current account and a savings. I also didn't know i get my card on the same day and also can open a savings for my child! What great customer service! He was brilliant!

I understand the frustration of some of the reviewers here it takes approximately 2hoursto open an account which is clearly mentioned at the reception. My experience in opening the account was really smooth advisor didn't even check my address proof as she was able to verify it on their system.

The best bank that I have ever come across! I would recommend this bank to everyone. Especially the assistant store manager Reeon and the best staff member to see is Emeka- he will get all your problems resolved and gives the best advice and is always professional. Very happy with Emeka.

The Ilford branch lacks staff with knowledge about their own systems. I've had four trips to open a bank account and they just can't seem to find the application on their system. They don't know the process and have to rely on the odd staff that do. Only thing is they are open most days
