My husband had an initial conversation with Lilly a couple days ago and then we scheduled a zoom meeting with Lily to talk about more details about the corporate tax filing details with Lilly. She didn't show up. I called her cell on her email. She apologized and told me it was Friday and her alarm didn't go off. Ok, understood. Then she came to the meeting 10 minutes late. I told her I'm very new to the corporate tax stuff and I wanted to get more details about it. She started to tell me some basic information that I already knew so I started asking her if she could give me some specific details, like numbers about personal tax planning. Then she got a bit more annoyed and impatient as if I was questioning her professionalism. Then I wanted to ask about the details about her fees and what services included. She gave me the quote and since I talked with other accounting firms, I kind of knew the average so I said the fees you gave me is a little bit above average. Then she got really annoyed and said we are CPA firms. We have 5 staff. we are very experienced... all that stuff. Then she said if you wanted to do corporate investment tax filing there's gonna be more fees. Then she said, "It seems like fee is really your concern. I don't think we are good fit. " As a potential client and a small business owner, I think I have every right to be concerned about fees. If I think your fee is more than average, I want to know the reason and want to be convinced. If you are providing extraordinary services, I'm willing to pay more. But even at the very first meeting, you showed your ego and unprofessionalism. How can you convince me to work with you in the future?

I initially called to ask for some tax questions I had and was hoping to have them answered preferably through an appointment, to which Lily answered that it wasn’t possible as she had no more room to take anymore clients, then hung up on me before I could ask the availability of maybe other accountants. I tried the other extensions — 4 in total — and when I reached the 3rd, I am greeted with an annoyed Lily who just says "You JUST called this firm, I TOLD YOU we don't have the capacity to attend to anybody right now. You're calling my assistant, we're all the same here" — I think she meant to say they all share the same availability, to which I obviously did not know if the phone call offers me to speak with 4 WORKERS (Would've been nice to have heard my question at first and not hang up immediately, so that I would've known). Before I could even apologize and say I didn't know about that, I am interrupted with another "bye bye" and yet again having the phone hung up in my face. That last abrupt and interrupting "bye bye" was what tipped me to write this review, you couldn't at least be cordial and respectful about it? I'm not from Canada, so I'm just a little shocked over the treatment I received over a simple phone call to clarify simple tax questions with an appointment, geez. Simply put, service with Lily was terrible. She was very rude, interrupted me before I could apologize for troubling her and hanging up on me twice. I sincerely hope your business keeps thriving because I do see people being helped a lot, I'm not bitter that I wasn't one of them, but I really hope you don't act this way when more people come to you asking for help.

I have been a client of Richard Mew's for almost 15 years starting in Vancouver and now from Calgary. Richard has always provided a reliable and efficient service for my interior design and investment business. I spoke with Lilly Woo and found her very arrogant and impolite. They might be good accountants for corporate tax return and stuff but certainly their attitude is terrible. Also, on their website they state they do personal tax return, however they don't provide such a service. So, to me that is just providing false information. Their rate is ridiculously high as well.
